being in the hospital over the holiday season was hard. john definitely felt for the families . . . even when the child is admitted for something short lived and minor in the emergency department; to inpatient upstairs where kids can be bed bound for days or weeks at a time. what was supposed to be a joyful and magical time of year, can be anything but. everyone on the pediatric team realizes that. from the child life specialists and aids, even to the nurses and doctors, they try their best to bring joy to the faces of the children. even when they lack the holiday spirit themselves.

john has always loved the holidays and christmas. but even he had to admit that it was hard being alone, without parents or a family for so long. cutting them off was therapeutic for him, sure. but it gets to the point where he can be lonely.

it was christmas eve, and sharon goodwin told him to go home. he had been working too many hours and he was to enjoy the holiday. but he had nowhere to go. he sat down on the bench and stared at his locker, not really sure how much time had passed. he saw david approach him and he gave his attending a small smile.  ❛ i thought you were long gone. aren't you and patrick hosting a party?  ❜ he asked david.

She wondered if everyone's individual perdition was just having to endure their humanity until they reached some semblance of the next life. She couldn't help but concur with her, knowing what each life felt like the more her soul was painfully harvested and reincarnated, and perhaps this was the one where she'd fully come back as wrong and as corrupt as she ever would. She knew how to deal with it, of course, but it didn't make it any easier. To Nausicaä Thorn, humanity was the hell that she had to endure. The place was actually not as bad as bible thumpers proclaimed it to be. Maybe Eden was subject to one's point of view, and nothing was entirely concrete.

RULES

1. this is a private, selective, multi-muse blog featuring both canon and original characters from chicago med, 911 and more. i don't claim to have any connection to the shows, cast or crew.

2. as of now this blog is considered private and i will not be following any new blogs at this time. if i follow you currently it means i want to interact with you. the exception to this rule is for mutuals who have new blogs or muses they are bringing back, etc. i will always follow those people back. this is for my comfort as i get easily overwhelmed and anxious sometimes.

3. memes are a great way to get things started with me. when replying to memes i turn them into threads so they are easier to reply to. i typically don't post starter calls but the occasional one may come up.

4. i will be using a mixture of small and large font on this blog. most of the writing on this blog will be iconless (at times) unless i am feeling inspired. there may be times where a longer reply does require an icon of some kind.

5. i do practice mains and exclusives but it takes a lot of trust on my end for me to ask someone to fill one of those spots. if one of my muses is exclusive with another that means that muse will not write with another. i ask that you please respect that. ex: my natalie manning is exclusive with a will halstead so i will not be writing natalie with any other wills.

6. i love shipping but again, i do require there to be a connection/friendship between muns. i will not ship with those i am not comfortable with. also i will not be writing any smut or anything nsfw with anyone under the age of 22. i prefer to write with those that are over 22 + and if anyone under those ages follows me you will be blocked.

7. there will be triggers on this blog based on the medical content present but everything will be tagged as needed. if there is anything that you need tagged that has been missed, please let me know and i will fix it. i myself have no triggers.
