The prompts for Graylu Week 2024 have been finalized!

Graylu Week is a week-long celebration and appreciation of the relationship between Gray Fullbuster and Lucy Heartfilia from Fairy Tail. This celebration will consist of one prompt per day for seven days, plus a Free Day. Fans are encouraged to submit fan art, fanfiction, AMVs, graphics, chat posts, cosplay, or any form of media!

#grayluweek2024 is the official tag. All Graylu Week posts must include this tag so they can be easily found and reblogged to the event site!

Glad to know i found someone who ships Gray and Lucy because GrayLu is 10xs more better than Gru//via will ever be.

While one of our mods does ship Gray/Lucy and while we may use other ships as an example, especially when those who ship Gray/Juvia hate the ship solely for "breaking up Gray/Juvia," this is not a ship blog, nor is it the place for ship discourse outside of venting about Juvia and Gray/Juvia.

Many ships for different characters can coexist all at once, and we're firm believers that no ship is automatically better than another one, even though Gray/Juvia is most definitely at the very bottom of all of our personal lists. This is also why we confine our beliefs to the tags #anti gruvia and #anti Juvia Lockser . It makes the tags (and us!) easily blockable to anyone who doesn't want to see it. Just because we can't stand the ship and made a vent space for ourselves doesn't mean we have to interact with them or shove it in their face (or vice-versa! I definitely don't wanna see the ship content!).

So while we appreciate your enthusiasm, this isn't a Gray/Lucy blog. I suggest checking out the GrayLu tag to find more shippers or ship blogs. I know there's several becausea few years back the Gruvians had an "event" I suppose we could say, where the goal was to harass, doxx, and get blocked by as many Gray/Lucy shippers as possible.

Good luck finding more shippers, and if you're lucky, maybe you'll spot our shipper mod out in the wild!

GrayLu Day/Weekend

After checking @fairytailevents​, I decided to try writing Gray x Lucy for the first time. Not sure if this would fall under (late) GrayLu Day or Weekend, so I'll let the organisers decide. 

Here's the info for the prompt:

Title: Moving Forward

Summary: After losing her father, the only family she had left, Lucy was overwhelmed by pain and grief. Gray reassured her that, in time, she would find a way to move forward. 

Word Count: 700 

Warnings: This is pretty sad and angsty, so bring on the tissues.

                                         Moving Forward

Lucy stared at the grave, unsure if she should say something, scream or burst into tears. It had been a long time since she had come to the cemetery or gone through such intense grief. 

She settled for kneeling down and placing the bouquet of roses on top of it. Then, she took a step back and watched the grave again, focusing on the name inscribed there. Jude Heartfilia. Her father. The man who had, for better or worse, raised her. 

Their relationship had been so complicated and unstable. For years he had neglected her, but before she had left for Tenrou Island they had begun to make amends. They had been on their way to being a true family, so why had he been taken away from her?

The weight of those seven years she had missed piled on and she felt like crying. Still, the tears didn't come, only a disgruntled sob that sounded more like hiccups. 

Lucy felt a hand on her shoulder; cold yet comforting. She glanced back at Gray, who had accompanied her there. His face showed sadness and empathy. 

"Thank you..." She told him softly. "...for coming with me."

"Of course." He squeezed her shoulder, offering a sympathetic look.  

He knew what she was going through. Many years ago he had lost his father too, so he was familiar with this pain. 

It comforted Lucy to know that. Watching Gray be content even after all he had suffered gave her hope that she too could move forward and find happiness. 

"You'll be okay," He gently reassured, as if reading her thoughts. 

Lucy turned around fully to face him. "I want to be." A sniffle. Maybe the tears would come after all.

"It takes time," Gray's expression turned melancholic. 

"How long did you take?" She asked, curious. 

"After my parents died?" He sighed. "I don't think I'm fully there yet." 

"I'm sorry," Lucy offered, feeling bad for making him think of such a traumatic experience. 

"What for?" The ice mage asked, looking genuinely confused. 

"For making you relive it," She explained, taking his hand and squeezing it.

He smiled softly. "It's okay." His free hand reached for her cheek and he stroked it gently. "It's worth remembering if it helps you feel better." 

"It does," Lucy admitted, feeling warm. It always surprised her when he said such sweet things, but she was grateful. "Knowing you've managed to move forward...gives me hope."

"I'm glad." Gray let go of her hand so that he could wrap an arm around her, bringing her close. They stared at each other briefly before moving in synchrony, leaning in for a passionate kiss which chased away all sorrow and concerns if only for a moment.

Once it was over, though, as they were forced to pull apart in order to breathe, the overwhelming emotions returned. Lucy's heart broke again upon realising that she would never be able to tell her father about their relationship or reminisce about how her parents had fallen in love. 

She would never even get to know the full story or how her father had managed to move on after her mother had died. This would forever remain a mystery which Lucy couldn't solve. Knowing now what it was like to love someone that much, she couldn't imagine living in a world without them. 

"What are you thinking about?" Gray's question broke her out of these dark thoughts. 

"My parents." Was Lucy's answer, followed by a sniffle. Suddenly, she realised that she was crying. Bringing a hand to her cheek, she noted between sobs, "I'm...crying." 

"That's okay," He offered another reassuring look. 

"I know," Lucy said, feeling surprisingly relieved. "It feels...good, actually." 

Without saying another word, he brought her in for an embrace. She relished in the feeling of having his arms protectively around her and pressed her head against his naked chest. 

They were like this for some time, her crying and him letting her be. Then, Gray softly kissed the top of her head and whispered, "You'll be okay, Lucy."

Though at that moment the tears were unstoppable and the pain so suffocating, Lucy knew that he was right. In time, she would be able to move on for her father's death and create a brighter future with Gray by her side.

Does Grayluweek start every year on tumblr?

I think so... because when I first arrived here, I found an event called ‘graylu week’ besides other week events… and also at that time there were quite a lot of graylu family members and they were quite active in posting graylu-themed contents.

GRAYLU WEEK usually held from September 1st to September 7th because in that week there is GRAY DAY (September 1st) and GRAYLU DAY (September 6th) but it is possible to hold it on different dates and months because in my opinion every week is graylu week and every day is graylu day. 😊
