oh yeah. music is honestly the lifeblood behind sitting down and writing for hours. can't stand the silence. i usually end up creating playlists for whatever fic i'm writing and am often inspired by songs themselves for chapters/one shots. lately genesis pt ii by raye is the GO TO, especially when writing chapters lately for shall we renounce lol

❌ What’s a trope you will never write?

oh god. what will i never write. well probably things along the lines of dubcon or noncon. i'll always be writing romance so i won't touch those tropes. probably ever. (oh! and cheating! won't catch me having my ship cheating on each other no siree)

Had a conversation with my sister today about how you never really hear creative people talking about their rough days—the ones where they feel completely uninspired or everything you make sounds/looks like garbage. It can really convince you that you're the only one struggling, and somehow everyone else knows what they're doing. But... that can't possibly be true, right?

Honestly, I have off days all the time, but I don’t usually post about them. It feels… embarrassing, I guess? Like, if I'm not enjoying drawing, I must be doing something wrong. If you're passionate about something, then surely you never feel burned out or feel uninspired, right?

But the reality is that everyone has off days. Sometimes, you just don't feel like doing the things that usually bring you joy, and that's okay.

I’m sharing this because I want to remind myself and others that it's normal to have ups and downs, even with the things we love. It doesn't mean we're failing; it just means we're human.

a hobby you would like to try: scrapbooking honestly... but not even for me. scrapbooks for my stories and the characters i adore.

an AU you're working on/thought of: modern au for the baldur's gate gang. i'm actually very excited about it and all i'll say is that gurona (my durge) is about to make the Worst Decision of her life when a certain vampire interrupts it and their meeting changes the entire trajectory of their lives.

some vampires i designed for me and @graveomen to put in our Sensation Blvd storyverse! they ended up keeping the ones on the right, while i have the two on the left.

the blond is Sheridan, a criminal loan shark an "entrepreneur" who works in the seedy underbelly of Santa Luna in the 80s. i think he owns some of the popular clubs and venues in their area. (he's come a long way from being a late-19th century widow whose husband died under mysterious and violent circumstances.)

the brunette woman is a famous movie star in the 80s. i dont know much about her--i need to ask graves!

the tits-out goth doesn't have a name, but he (they? she? i don't think they care) works with Sheridan. they're very serious and quiet, but have a dark sense of humor. i think they're from the late 19th century too, but also possibly the 16th or 17th century. i haven't decided yet!

i don't know if graves has done anything with the punky one yet!
