thats something thats different with sons of the forest, yesterday i was alone for like. an decent amount of time when we played and i didnt feel hardly scared at all. This is a long one and I hope for a good honest answer so please help with advice and tips! :) I appreciate all your responses to this matter.I currently moved home to a small town (Population: 3,696) I was wondering if any of you have thought about growing your cities population size? If so did you do it? and How? If not, how would you do it and why?So a bit further insight is that I've been working in a large city (Pop. +400,000) that had everything! From people, to clubs, to grocery stores, bars, coffee shops etc. things many people take for granted. I worked as a business owner and as a medical assistant on the side. I've recently moved back to my hometown, its drastically small compared to the city I lived in. I want to be able to do things like go to a bar to drink, grab a coffee, or even club but my hometown has none of these. Currently this little town is expanding a lot and more people are moving here. 2 years ago I could tell you pretty much all the residents of this town but now there's so many people I don't know, new stores opening, apartments being built and much more!! The last apartment complex to be built here is about 20 years old and before that one, the late 70's. We only have 4 apartment complex's total. I'm very excited for these changes yet, there is still no activities for anyone to do besides a basic movie theater that was built in the 80's, and a bowling alley. That's it besides outdoor activities like fishing, hunting, hiking. The population also has an average age of 25 currently and its starting to get less.Often, we get an immense amount of tourists coming through. Now this town I live in is a dry town (no alcohol sold in city limits), because of this, I would like to open an all in one place. Just to start this town's extra activities. Currently doing lots of research on what I think would work and a bar/cafe is definitely a top 2. This establishment will be built outside city limits if a bar is included, though, there is talk of having the dry ban removed.So on to the business talk, I currently moved home because of a college (main source of people moving in) i'm attending. I'm going back to school for Management Information System to advance my knowledge of business and how tech affects the new age. I have always been interested in running businesses, with a few businesses under my built currently.Now this might sound like a bad investment but I want to start a Cafe, Bar, E-sport/internet browsing, and Night club establishment. In my area a lot of people love video games and often times host little gaming tournaments at their houses. I want to start an establishment that will let them take their gaming to the next level as its one of my passions as well (Competed in e-sport for Fortnite, Smash bros, and a couple others), I'm not a pro but pretty well above average in a lot of games. I want my fellow neighbors to be able to have the same opportunity in a town where it would be least expected. It also gives them a way to build extra income as many here live on $7,000 a year, but that number is quickly growing and will grow even more as more businesses open and people move in. These tournaments would be set on a specific day of the week, maybe Thursday?, to give people time to prepare. I also would like to make it so people can rent computers in the cafe to play games casually or just to browse the web.I also want to serve coffee/tea/food. This is a Mormon town (no surprise for it being a dry town), but I would like to serve coffee with this estab. Theres a high native american population and its part of their culture (to some extent) to welcome each other with coffee. I would also have options friendly to both cultures and everyone that may come in, but the coffee interest is high here as many people drive to the gas station to get their caffeine. We also don't have very many food places to choose from (about 5 total) but there has been an increase of food business attempts. Many of which fail in the first year, but personally, I think its because they got too greedy with their new business and many sold food for as high as $15 for a cheeseburger. I want to make a great dining place for everyone even if its quick foods like a good sandwich.Next on this business is a Bar. I'm gonna be truthful and honest here, since its a dry town, the amount of people wanting alcohol is damn high! Like people drive 1 hour to get to the nearest liquor store and they have to get to that store between 11am - 6pm MON-THURS. The market for a bar is high! Even with the culture that is present. Also, after a long day of work, fishing, hunting etc. Who wouldn't want a cold beer? There isn't a bar within an hour of us besides one, where they only sell budlight, amber ale, and a few other tap beers but nothing that would make it worth the 30 min drive for. Especially since the bar is open off and on, that its not worth thinking of it as a source. There are also tons of tourist that come through only to be disappointed that its a dry town. (Good source of income gone)Finally, I would like to make it into a club on the weekends Friday and Saturday nights. I want the club area to be separate from the rest of the area. This would also allow me to host parties like birthday parties to weddings and much more! This would allow the younger adults that often go to each others house to party, a fun safe place to do so and also give them options of drinking in a good environment. It also adds on that extra activity we all move to big cities for! One good reason to do so is that I also attended this college 4 years ago, we hosted a small nightclub vibe in our little college plaza and a lot of students and even non students showed up to enjoy it. This college is getting increasingly bigger and attracting more students which is why I think it may work.There's a huge market for these 4 ideas to be put in one place, the only problem is building it, and finding out if its worth the investment. I have no funding currently as its a just a leaf in the wind currently, it can go any which way. The other problem is the population size, in the big city, club activities are based on populations in the +100,000 range. I'm wondering if this is a good thing to do in such a small population size. Also, is there a way to increase the population size as just a citizen? I want to grow our little town so that its fun and a good way to release stress for everyone. Many of these young adults turn to heavy drinking and drugs, but if there was a way to let them get it out in a safe place, I think it would be much better.It is such a rural area that many people drive 2 hours just to see a movie, I would like to make it worth it for them. Though its still a work in progress I've asked locals not about the business its self but like bits an pieces of it to different people. They all state they wish someone would do something like this, but, its a Mormon run town and they're all afraid of being judged. With that being said, new people coming in to the town are making that more of the past, but I agree, judgement is huge here as many know each other but that quickly going down. People from Cali are moving here complaining of no place to vibe unless they're willing to drive 3 hours to the nearest club or 30 min to the nearest that might not even be open. I will also add delivery of drinks and food as the business is located outside of city limits.What are your thoughts on this as hopefully an entrepreneur/stranger to my town and looking from an outside perspective. Everyone here are focused more on working for someone that they don't think for themselves and its hard to get another business owner's opinion on such a thing which is why i'm asking here. Also sorry if this post is all over the place, i'm really wanting to do something that will benefit a lot of people so I'm writing this in my idea stage hoping for that piece of advice that will make it worth it :)TL;DR: Need help finding out if a bar/club/cafe/esport place will work in a small population that's rapidly growing, in a dry town. Tips and advice on how to grow the population which will help grow the business will be very much appreciated!! Also if you have different Ideas that may work for a business in this situation please let me know! :)
