i've been thinking about it a lot and part of why henry x dalston appeals to me is that dalston wouldn't take any of henry's bs logic about being inferior. he'd be like dude you were my financial competitor for almost two decades despite coming from nothing and not wanting any of the wealth for yourself. i know how horribly mr ascot treated you and how hard you worked for him. i hate you as my rival and love you as my friend. you are not beneath me.

#melonposting #professor layton #granted dalston did sorta accuse henry of killing randall and stealing angela... erm...#but i feel that's largely because until the reveal of his true motives henry did kinda seem like a dipstick #and he was weirdly obsessed with the growth and prosperity of monte d'or and the property he owned within it #so i'm not really surprised someone as easy-to-antagonize as dalston would accuse him of being shady and selfish #but then after the reveal? dalston would be like woof. damn henry. you really did all that and i thought you were a jerk anyway #i think afterwards he'd be henry's number 1 apologist. but still his number 1 hater as well #they're very funny to me. guy 1 has a rivalry with guy 2 and guy 2 doesn't even know they're competing but he wins anyway #lol i can't blame dalston for getting pissed! to him it must've seemed like henry was rubbing his success in his face
