Turua, The Father of Swamps, The Bayou Plant God

A patriarch with a clan...?

At a glance, "Turua" resembles some sort of tentacled monstrosity, and with statements like:

"An Old God may still reside in the depth."

"Sinker of ships, risen from the deep."

But Turua is actually a fungas creature and NOT a eldrich cephalopod. His "tentacles" resemble Clathrus archeri, also known as "Octopus stinkhorn". These mushrooms are saprotrophs, they feed on decaying organic material and smell like putrid flesh to attract insects that help spread it's the spores.

Patron Elder God of Death...?

We gain access to quite a few items belonging to Turua. Most of which are unlocked by default, save his tarot. Turua's items make him seem quite protective of those he considers kin. And we use curses of his origin...

Touch of Turua - Sinker of ships, risen from the deep.

Maelstrom - An Old God may still reside in the depth.

Kin of Turua - A patriarch protects his own.

Turua's Tentacle - Writhing arm, be wary of its reach.

On Blight, Bile, & Bane...

"Blight is a symptom affecting plants in response to infection" 

This is the original use of the world. That means the blight spells and weapons aren't just "poison" but, pathogenic, infectious agents caused by bacteria or fungus.

"Bile, or gall, is a yellow-green fluid produced by the liver of most vertebrates that aids the digestion of lipids in the small intestine."

It's like a digestive enzyme that helps break down fat.

"Bane, something, especially poison, which causes death."

Most mushrooms are detrivores including the one Turua resembles...

"an organism (such as an earthworm or a fungus) that feeds on dead and decomposing organic matter"

Blight weapons and Turua relics! Who better a patron for a death god or gods, than a FUNGUS deity! Our enemies aren't just be poisoned, they're being digested, alive.
