Make this a very special one please!
Can you do a fic about Reader is Wednesdays big sister and wednesday is still a little baby and is like 4-5, So Reader takes care of wednesday while her parents are gone. But wednesday is never happy around reader and only happy around others so she acts cold and mean to reader ( As usually ) and doesnt behave, So Reader gets angry and avoids her. and Wednesday gets EXTREMELY Murderous and furious because of it.
Older Sister
Wednesday Addams x Sis! Reader
Warning: flame gun.
I don't often get requests, so why not do it? It will be my first time writing from a female Reader's perspective but I still used "you". It isn't extremely murderous and furious for a Wednesday Addams, because I think her sadistic side would be built up by the time she grows up and Maia Weems is just the young Gwendoline Christie, I have been seeing her old pictures everywhere, so might as well use them...
Tumblr media
Being an older Sister comes with big responsibilities because how do you expect a child to look after another child? Anyway, you just turned 18 and your parents thought it would be a nice idea to leave your 4-year-old baby sister with you while they're out of town and do what evil knows! Do you have any idea how to take care of a 4-year-old? No, but you tried your best to get along with your younger sibling, which you think would never happen.
You're about to pack your things and abandon this house. You can't imagine where this little thing gets her energy from. She's been running around the house with a machete in her hand when she's supposed to be in bed for her afternoon nap. Your patience is growing thinner and thinner over time.
The whole house knows if you're mad — a deafening silence would be present in the house, and it would make normal people mad and wish to be sent to an institution. So, when you had enough of Wednesday Friday Addams's shenanigans, you treat her like a ghost. She would say mean things to you, taunt you, and/or give you the cold shoulder, but you didn't care anymore.
You asked Grandmama and Uncle Fester to look after Wednesday since she would listen to them — while you do one of your school projects, which isn't due after the summer — not like any Addams, people seem to like you and were willing to partner with you. You were excited about Maia Weems coming over. She's magnificent. She's literally like her mother and she looks 100% like her, just years younger. You have had this crush on her since you both started Nevermore and you definitely want to impress her.
You were in the middle of doing your makeup when a little dark cloud opens your bedroom door. "I'm glad you realized you aren't a good babysitter and gave the authority to Grandmama and Uncle Fester." Wednesday had her hand barely on the doorknob. "but Mother and Father explicitly said YOU should look after me." Wednesday added and stepped into the room. You flicked your finger, causing her to be sent out of the room and the door slammed onto her face. This angered the little viper and she silently walked away, thinking what the best way to get her revenge was. The doorbell rang through the whole house and she looked outside the window, there she finds her solution to her problem.
You let Maia enter the house, and you could see her face light up at the sight of the house, you could tell she liked the aesthetic of it. You toured her around the house, not thinking about where your sister is, not until you see an incoming arrow, you were about to flick it away but Maia caught it in time. She was shocked but still had a smile on her face and that's when she noticed Wednesday hiding behind the door. "Oh wow, Who do we have here? Hi! I'm Maia, your sister's friend. What's your name?" Maia kneeled in front of Wednesday just a few feet away.
When Wednesday didn't answer Maia looked up to you for a little help. "That's Wednesday. My little sister." You introduced the 4-year-old hiding behind the door. "Wednesday? What a unique name, where does it come from?" Maia asked still looking up at you. "Our mother named her after her favorite rhyme 'Wednesday's child full of woe'." You looked at Wednesday, you gave her one of your signature signs — raising an eyebrow — meaning what was the arrow for? Wednesday didn't say anything but just shrugged and slammed her door, which caused Maia to flinch and lose her balance, but you were quick to hold her up. You received a thank you from her, which you acknowledged with a nod, but your brain was in full gear thinking about what is Wednesday up to.
Both of you sat in your room on the bed and it was awfully quiet. Too quiet for your liking. You had a gut feeling that Wednesday is up to no good. This didn't go unnoticed by the girl sitting beside you. "Y/N did you even listen to what I said?" Maia sensed your attention wasn't on her the whole time. "I'm sorry. What did you say?" You looked at her but still, you weren't fully attentive. Maia took your face in both of her hands and made you look her in the eyes. "I said, stop worrying about your sister" her face was inches away from yours which made you realize that and a slight blush creeps in on your cheeks.
That's when a little Wednesday Addams kicked the door open with a flame gun, which surprises Maia for a bit, then her facial expression changes to adoration. You were sitting there with your eyebrows furrowed and arms crossed at Wednesday. "Isn't she adorable, Y/N? Wednesday you look so cute with that flame gun." She said with a big full smile, which you love so much. This comment made Wednesday stop swinging the flame gun and turned it off. "Oh sweetheart, what's wrong? Did I say something bad?" Maia was confused seeing Wednesday's face start to distort into a...smile? and is that laughing? Is she laughing?
"Wednesday, you annoying little brat." You say which made her stop laughing. You snapped your fingers, which caused Wednesday to be trapped in an invisible rope, and floated in front of you. "Are you going to take your afternoon nap or I'll let Maia baby you until you get tummy aches from laughing?" You gently tell her, sure torture wasn't a big deal for her but laughing and a tummy ache is pure hell for your 4-year-old sister who's all melancholy since she was born. Talking to her gently was a sign that you mean what you said, being gentle in this family is odd enough, so when Wednesday got to hear your gentleness she had goosebumps all over her body, and made her tired.
The little girl yawned, still trapped in the invisible rope. Maia slapped your arm lightly indicating to let the little girl down, she stretched her arms to get the almost-asleep girl settled in her arms. You let Wednesday float above Maia's stretched arms and let her gently down. "I never knew you liked children?" Maia said rocking Wednesday in her arms. "I don't. I tolerate them." You move to stand up and show her Wednesday's room. Before Maia followed you, she looked down at the sleeping little girl and whispered "Be good to your sister, she loves you more than you know and I would appreciate it if you don't drive her mad, because I would like to marry her." The little girl squirmed in her arms, Maia knew Wednesday is listening and she knew this will change the relationship between you and Wednesday.

Wednesday is NOT a rip-off of Harry Potter
Tumblr media
This is something that I thought should be obvious. In fact I could swear I wrote a post like this over a year ago but apparently (if I had made such a post) it is lost now. So here's the new one. Lately I've seen a fresh spike in people insisting that the Netflix series Wednesday is a "rip off" of Harry Potter. "It the aesthetic is Harry Potter!" Really? How? Do you think Harry Potter was the first and only school to be a haunted castle? I guess you don't remember Gravedale High (animated series from 1990). Much like the modern Monster High, Gavedale high was a show about a school of monsters.
Tumblr media
Before Gravedale High there was the animated TV movie Scooby Doo and the Ghoul School (1988) where Shaggy got a job as a PE teacher at a boarding school for the daughters of the classic movie monsters. This, very likely, inspired Monster High.
Tumblr media
And before that there was the book series The Worst Witch and the first TV movie inspired by the books, which featured a song number from Tim Curry. This was about a little girl attending Witch School.
Tumblr media
If we go back even further the novel Dracula by Bram Stoker has Van Helsing suggest that Dracula attended Scholomance (translates to "School of Magic") which has its roots in Eastern European folklore and helped inspire Yennefer's backstory in The Witcher. All of these pre-date Harry Potter. "But the students are divided into groups just like in Harry Potter." Yeah. So? "Houses" are a tradition in boarding schools in the UK and parts of the US. Also Nevermore Academy in Wednesday is mostly populated by supernatural entities that divide up in cliques based on what species the student is. You're going to tell me your school didn't have cliques? Jocks, nerds, Goths, rich kids, bad boys, etc. I'm not sure how a boarding school setting can even be done without dividing up into factions. You'd have to make a conscious effort to avoid it and it would come off as very awkward and unnatural. Harry Potter isn't as original as you seem to think it is. "But the uniforms have stripes." Okay, I'll let you have that one but the stripes and color patterns are different. The plotline of season 1 of Wednesday is closer to the live action Monster High musical movie (but with a more serious tone) than anything else. In the first Monster High live action movie the main villain turns out to be a teacher who is also a Hyde monster. In Wednesday the main villain is a teacher who is manipulating a Hyde Monster.
Tumblr media
And both deal with classic monsters in a boarding school setting and allegories of prejudice.
And then you get the annoying argument from fake Addams Family fans of "But Wednesday didn't have any powers in the original." Oh, on the contrary. The new show says she inherited psychic abilities from Morticia. Morticia telling fortunes, sensing things, and even using a crystal ball comes up in the 1960s Addams Family TV series. Grandmama uses a crystal ball in the 90s Addams Family animated series. The 1970s Addams Family Halloween special has it that the spirit of Halloween / Anthropomorphic personification of Halloween "Uncle Shy" (implied to be the Great Pumpkin or you can retroactively say he was Jack Skellington or Sam from Trick 'r Treat). When your Uncle is literally the spirit of Halloween your family can have whatever you want in it. Wednesday even uses telepathy at one point in the 2019 Addams family animated movie franchise. And there's a conga line of Addams Family member ghosts in The Addams Family Broadway musical. They have a pet sentient hand. And no. It's not just that "Their Goth game is that good." Finally, I don't think there's a student at Nevermore Academy who is younger than sixteen. Hogwarts starts at age eleven. Twenty-one-year-old Jenna Ortega (Wednesday) doesn't look much like eleven-year-old to seventeen-year-old Daniel Radcliffe to me.
Stop giving J. K. Rowling so much credit.

"I almost held up a grocery store, where I almost did 5 years and then 7 more..."
---
Well, look what I've pulled out of the ashes! It's been a while, but we've got a new Come What May chapter today!
Chapter 6 - “Talk About Us”
Read on FFN || Read on AO3
Start from Chapter 1
---
No rest for the wicked! Kevin (and an undead iguana) head home from the Cake 'N Bacon with Foop in tow... Maybe the anti-fairy can help with Kevin's ghost problem? Wait, forget that… Didn't Grandmama say Kevin's got a cousin running around Dimmsdale? Finding Remy is WAY more important. Check it out!
(First 1000 words under the cut)

Talk About Us
Year of Water, Spring of the Aligned Raindrops
Saturday, May 15th, 2004 - 11:44 am
---
When it comes to I've had the weirdest day, it's hard to top going to lunch with the Grim Reaper and getting handed an iguana. Granted, this wasn't Kevin's first time eating lunch with the old coot, and Foop was still begging for the details. Yeah, Kevin didn't even know where to start with that one. "He's just a long-time friend of my mom's" didn't seem to be cutting it.
Personally, Kevin didn't see what the big deal was. The Grim Reaper had a creepy aesthetic to him - you know, like Marvin and Molly - but all in all, he was just some guy. He picked up odd jobs all over Peachfield to pay off his student loans. Hearing Foop gush over him as Kevin picked at his soup (and his uncle devoured a sandwich) kind of gave him the creeps, like listening to a Kindergartener gush about the local crossing guard.
Is it really THAT weird?
Denise Quinna Crocker was a vampire lover. She volunteered often at the Peachfield nursing home and hung around the elderly. The Grim Reaper also volunteered a lot at the Peachfield nursing home, although probably for a different reason. They shared a love for all things dark, bleak, and undead. And, well… he walked around in a big brown cloak and preferred writing with a quill. Denise Crocker was going to notice that. She'd always been an extraverted woman, and her nosiness knew no bounds. Did you know the Grim Reaper has a birthday? Apparently that's a thing.
"Super lame," Foop scoffed when Kevin tried explaining this over their table at the Cake 'N Bacon. The kid took a massive bite of clam chowder, then went back to coloring spikes and pitfall traps down every path of his kiddie menu maze. "Really, Kevin… I thought you were a cool Crocker."
"Death is overhyped anyway," Kevin muttered back. He'd finished his own soup, apart from some final chunks of celery and clams. He gripped his spoon like a bungee cord and stabbed it in the bowl. You know, the explanation of how he'd come to know the Grim Reaper may have been short, but lingering in the poorly lit diner with his uncle and a little kid - not to mention a hissing iguana - felt even more distracting.
Were people whispering about them? Kevin kept glancing around, watching Vicky weave back and forth between the tables with her pitcher. Was the iguana invisible or something? No one else had reacted to it yet. Once, when Vicky turned around with her scarlet ponytail bouncing, her eyes locked on Kevin's. She scrunched her nose at him, brows drawing low. Somehow, that look sort of curdled his skin. Kevin dropped his gaze to his empty soup bowl, his heart pounding like a crushed car on a conveyor belt. His phone hung like a brick in his hand. Great. Its cold, blank screen just surfaced the reminder that
Can we go yet?
The Cake 'N Bacon's clam chowder did taste delicious. It lifted Kevin's spirits a bit from the slump they'd plunged into after he was denied a visit to the Buxaplenty place, but it definitely didn't fill his stomach. He made a mental note to order a sandwich alongside the soup if he ended up eating here again, but he was more than ready to leave once their bill was paid. His skin itched like mad. He kind of wanted to wash his hands and splash his face just to shake off some of the general weirdness of the day, but he'd already used the bathroom once since they got here and he was pretty sure the waitresses would stare if he squeezed past them to go again.
At last, Uncle Denzel stood and shooed Foop off the other end of their booth. He said he had to swing by the Dimmsdale pet store to get iguana food and that he'd need to use the bathroom too before he left, so Kevin offered to walk home by himself. "I want to see more of Dimmsdale," he told his uncle, staring up with the widest blue eyes he could manage, and his uncle bought the lie.
In truth? Anything, even walking around the California outdoors on a hot day like this one, had to be better than another reckless drive in the back of the Unsuspecting Van.
"I'll go with you," Foop chirped, grabbing his crayons and menu from the table. Once they were in his hands, he vaporized both in a small puff of smoke. Kevin blinked tiredly at him, but didn't dare voice a complaint.
"Sure, let's go with that. I've never really talked with an anti-fairy before, except when you showed up on the doorstep this morning. This could be a great learning experience for me. I mean, I am supposed to be studying abroad for a semester. Maybe I can write a paper on anti-fairies for extra credit."
"You cannot!" came Uncle Denzel's cheerful voice. He rustled Kevin's hair with his big hand before scooting past him to the bathroom. "Oh! Kevin, take that sorry excuse for a lap dragon back home with you when you go. I've got errands to run and a tiny bladder to hold me over. You'll probably beat me there!"
Uhh…
So this was an interesting predicament. Kevin eyed the iguana, who'd shoved its face in Foop's soup bowl and started munching on the last traces of clams. That so-called "sorry excuse for a lap dragon" was still an oversized, shimmery green iguana with a crest like a rooster's and a big throat pouch now dripping with specks of soup. Its long toes ended in creepy, curled talons. Its yellow eyes rolled in its head.
Kevin glanced down at Foop, who stood stiffly beside him in his childish human disguise. He could almost pass as a normal kid, you know… if it weren't for the mustache, goatee, and wide lavender eyes. Those eyes blinked nervously up at Kevin. Apparently, Foop considered touching reptiles to be outside his job description as "Uncle Denzel's best friend" and Kevin really didn't blame him. Even if it sucked.

Grandma, tell me 'bout the good old days
Sometimes it feels like this world's gone crazy

When the line between right and wrong
Didn't seem so hazy.

How DARE you make ghosts scary!
Do you not see the wholesome possibilities???
What about a bunch of grandparent ghosts who are friends and hang out and help each other help their grandkids out??
What about those stories huh?
But nooooo you have to cash in on the subconscious human fear of the unknown.
Let's get some nice representation!
