Home Sweet Home at Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur

After a week of work in Singapore, it is back on the road and my latest destination is Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur located next to Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC). It is a beautiful hotel located in the heart of the city, with stunning views of the city landscape from the top of the building.

By sheer luck, I am placed in one of the Suites which is an amazing room with beautiful 360 degree views of the city. In addition, I have access to the Grand Club Lounge which provides access to Grand Club facilities, services and amenities such as drinks and canapes, breakfast service, and complimentary use of the Grand Club Boardroom and laundry services.

Lunch time arrived and I took a nice stroll in the KLCC Park to locate my next delicious meal.

Madam Kwan’s came highly recommended by the friendly staff of Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur and it lived up to its culinary reputation.

Nasi Lemak: It truly deserves its reputation as the best Nasi Lemak by the Ministry of Tourism Malaysia. The fragrant coconut rice is accompanied by spicy sambal ikan bilis, refreshing acar, rich curry chicken, a simple hard boiled egg, and a side serving of dried shrimp floss. The combination is deceptively simple but the dish is full of flavors and reminds me of the Nasi Lemak that I used to enjoy in neighboring stores when I was little. 

Char Kway Teow: One of the dishes that sings to my heart, a dish that I crave for whenever I return to Singapore after a long overseas stint. When I saw that every table around me is ordering this dish, I knew that I had to sample it to find out what the fuss is about. This plate of Char Kway Teow is full of wok hei, packing tons of fresh prawns, squid, and tender chicken slices. It is a great dish to enjoy whenever you need a sinful culinary treat.

Sago Gula Melaka: A simple delicious dessert where the chewy sago dances in a pool of coconut milk and Gula Melaka, sparking off a rich array of flavors in my mouth. It was the perfect dessert to end a delicious lunch.

After a couple of hours of work and networking, it was time to explore the colorful city landscape around KLCC.
