Caption: Service Men’s Lounge, Grand Central Terminal, New York City, installed by the New York Central System and the New Haven Railroad. Operated by Traveler’s Aid Society of New York. Equipped with ping pong and pool tables, Library, piano, easy chairs, lunch counter, etc. . This was before the stairs were built leading to what is now the Apple store and service center on this side of Grand Central. That’s a bit of history showing us 1945 vs. 2021. Postcards of the interior of a grand Central were more plentiful in this era. These days, it’s difficult to come by a modern postcard of this main transportation hub of the Metro North and the New York subway system.
