You are so full of rage for someone so small and cute. - Icebreaker by @hannahgraceauthor ~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~ ☆Have you ever been ice skating?☆ Welcome to March in northeast Ohio, where today is 28° and snowing. So of course I got my usual cold drink after picking baby girl up from dance and dug out my ice skates. Just for this picture, I haven't been skating at all this year, but it makes a nice picture. If you haven't read this book yet, I don't know why. It's cute, has amazing banter, the spicy scenes are absolute fire, and the way the characters express their feelings and emotions so openly and clearly is beautiful! ~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~ #readersofinstagram #bookstagram #bookswelove #bookaholic #booklover #booklife #bookaddict #Icebreaker #gracehannah https://www.instagram.com/p/Cp8CxbdrF0O/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

God, thank you!! It's really annoying that so many people on the Reddit don't see that there's anything kinda iffy about assuming that this queer woman in a (yes, admittedly very complicated) sapphic relationship must secretly be in love with her adoptive brother.
I get that they might think it because her episode was heavily inspired by the Royal Tenenbaums, and the character she most resembles (Margot) has a romantic relationship with her adoptive brother, but it really gets on my nerves that so many people are on-board with this theory and seemingly won't meet the writers with any criticism if they take this route, which I doubt they will because I have faith in Phil Lord and Chris Miller and co. There were two commenters arguing about whether or not it would be kinda shitty for the writers to have Hannah be secretly in love with Edgar, but the person who was saying there's nothing wrong with it had more upvotes than the person who was saying that it would, in fact, be shitty. Like, how cishet and oblivious must you be to not realise it would suck for a lot of queer viewers were the writers to say 'you see this woman who had a compelling relationship with another woman? Well, wouldn't it be super duper cool for her to not be in love with this woman but instead with her adoptive brother? Isn't that really cool that we'd rather have this shocking conclusion than have queer characters who sincerely love one another?'
There are even people saying that Hannah was either in on Isabel's gaslighting, if not solely responsible for it. I kind of understand that because of their relationship being... not great, and I'd be more on board with that than Hannah being in love with Edgar. But, at the same time, none of the Redditors claiming this seem to understand that it would be kind of horrible on the writers' part for one of the season's few queer characters to be such a shitty person in that way. I'm all for queer characters being very shitty people (see: my deep love for What We Do in the Shadows). But it's off-putting to me that so many people are so accusatory to both Hannah and Grace for being killers or gaslighters or not genuinely in love with each other or whatever without realising that it would be such a tired conclusion for queer viewers to have to watch. I must reiterate that I don't think queer characters must all be written as virtuous people, but I feel that it would suck that a show written by people who can definitely do better would write their sole queer relationship to be so utterly disingenuous. Feel free to disagree with me on that part.
The thing is, I'm of the opinion that it would be fine for Hannah to be the killer, and I'd even be willing to say she can go to prison for it. Hannah and Grace's relationship is kinda messy. I think there are ways for her to be the killer that don't make her fall into the psycho lesbian trope or erase her relationship with Grace. As an enjoyer of angst, I think that it could actually be cool for Hannah to be the killer. I may be defensive of her and Grace because I want them to run off into the sunset together, but it's looking a lot like Hannah did it, so I'd be fine if she killed Edgar because he was a shitty person, because he was using Grace or whatever. I'm just hoping that, should Hannah actually be in love with Edgar, enough people will call out the writers. I can't see a way of them pulling this off in a way that doesn't feel like a complete disservice to the queer romance throughout the season, especially in episode four.
That's just my two cents. I'm well-aware that this would definitely get downvoted on Reddit.
the reddit afterparty fandom is annoying me i need to know the tumblrinas aren’t idiots

What do you make of the Afterparty subreddit legit being so sure Hannah did it? Pretty much everything keeps turning around to her and/or Grace. I'm honestly confused what I'm missing, that people have been so sure for so long.
it honestly annoys me, but it doesn’t surprise me at all considering it’s the same demographic that wanted to pin everything on zoë in the first season.
to be completely transparent, i was into the idea of hannah being the killer long before the season had actually started because as i’ve stated in a previous ask, i think women should be allowed to kill! but now that i know her character more, i couldn’t want that reality any less. she and grace have been at the bottom of my list of suspects ever since their affair got revealed. yeah, that could be character bias, but i don’t really care. they both always knew that they were hurting edgar on some level, so i don’t believe either of them would go so far as to hurt him more, especially to the point that they murder him.
i think what a lot of people forget is that grace and hannah both love edgar in their own ways: grace, at some point in her life, genuinely fell in love with edgar and the man that she thought he was, to the point that she paints him in this perfect light through her mind movie (coincidentally, it conceals any trace of her romance with hannah, almost protecting their story in the true nature of regency); hannah loved edgar like a brother even though they were not related by blood and felt lost when they started to drift away from one another as they grew older (by the way, i especially hate how many people try to frame their relationship as incestuous purely because hannah closely resembles margot from the royal tenenbaums. tell me you don’t get the show without telling me you don’t get the show!) which is a catalyst for the affair. instead, the people in the subreddit tend to focus on how illicit everything is and the potential of them not caring about how it affected edgar. they literally did! they ended the affair (for a time, at least) because of how much it was eating at them, namely grace! i don’t like the insinuation that they’d be so cold towards him. grace and hannah, to me, are better people than that.

I FORGOT THE AFTERPARTY I’m so sorry gracehannah and aniqzoe
thinking about it it’s been a long time since I’ve been like, super into a ship. in general I’m not consuming much fiction lately (which makes me feel like I’m not supposed to write but that’s a whole other story) for the past like few years even I’m trying to think of new shows I’ve kept up with. I’m almost done with season 2 of the bear? I’m rewatching princess tutu and showing it to zoe and am being reminded of the power of Ahiru/Fakir but that’s an old ship. I did watch succession but that’s not a shippy show. OH I need to catch up on Abbott Elementary

The afterparty spoilers (s2 finale episode)
Im not sure if I was satisfied with the ending, but I like the overall episode. I loved Aniq and Zoe's proposal scene and I loved grace/Hannah getting together! I loved grace/Hannah story about the brownies! The only thing I didn't like was that...I already guessed it was Ulysses so I was kind of let down by it. Plus it wasn't so emotionally impactful as the first season's reveal. I feel like it would have been more impactful if Sebastian or Hannah had killed Edgar. (Plus I will still stick to my gay theory that Sebastian was in love with Edgar, would've been a juicy plot twist in my opinion if he was the killer and that was why lol). I just feel like I never really connected with Ulysses because it always felt too obvious that he was guilty or that he wasn't such a good dude. So I didn't really feel the emotional impact of the finale. I did feel some emotional impact when Hannah was talking to Edgar and saying "told you it wasn't me." That was good, I liked that moment. I also liked aniq and danners storyline and danners arc wrapping up in her doing real life mind movies. I also liked Feng and Zoe giving Aniq their blessing. Overall I loved a lot about the episode but I think the murderer reveal was a bit of a let down and somewhat anticlimactic.
