Special Out Reach Programme by DFP at Hee Gaon, West Sikkim

Directorate of Field Publicity, Jorethang Unit under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting , had organized two days Special Out Reach Programme on Beti Bachao Beti padhao, Mudra, Rural Electrification, Ujjawala, Swachhta Abhiyan at Hee Gaon, West Sikkim, on 14th and 15th February,2018.The Programme was organized in coordination with Block Development Officer,  Dentam, Energy & Power Department, Central Bank  of India,  local Panchayat  Heegaon,  State Police Department  and with the Rural. On 14th February,2018, the unit organized an  orientation Programme at Hee Gaon GPU. During the programme the unit discussed the various ongoing schemes of the central govt. that are  helpful for the upliftment of the rural peoples. A rally was organized on 15th February, 2018 which  was flagged off by the  Chief Guest , Smti  Sabita Thapa, Zilla Panchayat Member, Hee Gaon ,Rodu Khandu . Addressing a technical session on Swachata Abhiyan, Shri B.B.Limboo, R.D, Hee Gaon GPU  said  Sikkim being a Swachch Rajya, received  various awards from the  beginning. He said by brooming for a day we can’t  clean  all the garbage rather it  should comes from one’s inner core  to keep clean our surrounding. He  further said that the main Motto of this Abhiyaan is to keep clean our surrounding and to eliminate open defecation through construction of household and community toilets. However, he informed that Sikkim is totally free open defecation and need not to repeat  for using the toilets and dustbin. But an awareness is required for not using the plastic items including the mineral water bottles. Ms. Pema Choden Bhutia, J.E, Energy and Power Department ,  in her speech stressed on using the LED bulb instead of the previous traditional bulb. She further discussed about the benefits of LED bulb as it consume upto 90% less power than the previous traditional bulb, that save money and consumption of energy. Smti Sapna Limboo, ICDS Hee Gaon, while discussing on Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, said that sex-selective abortion or female foeticide has led to a sharp drop in the ratio of girls born in contrast to boy infants in some states in India. But one could understand  a family does not grow without a female. She also pointed out the various factors regarding the school dropout girls. She also highlighted on The Indira Gandhi Matritva Sahyog Yojana (IGMSY)  which is a  conditional maternity benefit program run by the Government of India specially for pregnant and lactating women of 19 years of age or above for first two live births. It provides partial wage compensation to women for wage-loss during childbirth and childcare and to provide conditions for safe delivery and good nutrition and feeding practices. In his speech he also gave details on various scheme like NHE(Nutrition and Health Education), SNP (Supplementary Nutrition Programme) the Winning Food, on Sabala girl. Shri Agni Prashad Sharmah, Resource Person from Central Bank of India, Dentam, discussed on the various ongoing monetary schemes under the PMJDY including PMSBY and PMJJBY. Under the  Sukanya Suraksha Yojna he said that the one should deposit a minimum of Rs.1000/-and Maximum INR. 1,50,000/- in a financial year.   He also informed  about   numerous products and schemes for the people under Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojna (PMMY) category that are describes as Shisu, Tarun and Kishore where each one signifies a particular growth stage of the products or the schems offered by MUDRA. Chief Guest Smti Sabita Thapa, Zilla Panchayat Member Hee Rhodu Khandu,, appreciated the programme organized by DFP. She requested t to organize more such awareness programme in near future. Focusing on the Pradan Mantri Ujjawala Yojana(PMUY) she said that previously our ancestors used firewood for cooking now the government  is giving privilege for using the LPG Cylinder by replacing the firewood of our rural women which was remarkable step.
