Time to fill up this baby with good memories! 😁 . Got my first ever Gouache Bag named Harvey! Harvey is basically a camera bag - very handy and convenient when on the go for some street or off-the-grid travel photography action. Being a naturally inquisitive person that I am, I've learned that Gouache Bags, as it is known today, started from the owner's passion for photography. Thus, the first designs were camera bags or anything closely related. The owner didn't originally intend to expand, but then with the encouragement of a growing audience paved way for designing other bags not limited to the aforementioned (camera bags). . I just love hearing stories of passion projects eventually going big. It brings me back to a quote from Simon Sinek which says, "People don't buy what you do; they buy why you do it. Gouache : Harvey (review)

I purchased a bag a few days ago for the purpose of having an inconspicuous camera bag and without looking like a camera bag at all for my street walks. I was eyeing and drooling to own an ONA The Bowery as it's the best looking street camera bag I've ever seen but it was very costly for such a small camera bag that's why when I stumbled on a photo of this beautiful camera bag from a fellow Photographer I was following on Flickr with complete details on where to order the bag I did not have any second thought and decided to inquire in the near partner stores if they have stock with different color variations of the bag and purchased one the next day. 

Enter : Gouache, a local bag manufacturer who specialized in vintage styling specifically producing high-quality goods for Photographers looking for the best looking bag as possible without having any hints that your beautiful bag is an on-the-go pack for your expensive camera gears.

the one I bought is called "Harvey", the store had three colors available but I decided to go for the Chocolate brown one 

I'm pretty sure it's almost the same size as with ONA's The Bowery, it has similar styling both having the same purpose of being the Street Photographer's street companion. 

it has space on the back that can fit an iPad (the iPad mini and the Air one) and a few documents, same goes to the inside space which could fill up the same thing as what the back pocket can 

(on this picture, it does look tight but it can be stretched further, I have my spare phone and some letters here together with my business cards for quick access) 

 my Fujifilm X10 in the bag, it can only fit two or 3 bodies of mirrorless camera & probably a few prime lenses (2-3 primes ?) I did put my Nikon D5200 with the 35mm 1.8G attached and a GoPro Hero 3+ below of the Fujifilm X10, it could also carry my SP Gadget monopod for my GoPro but ending up having it bulky (but since the lock-strap can be attached it didn't have any problem holding every gear I have inside)

you can access the insides with the push in button in the front, it can be adjusted to your liking as well depending on how bulk the bag gets 

a better view how long the strap-lock is 

one thing I really like with the Harvey is the material they used for the bag strap, first being the strap very thick and secondly it can be replaced easily with other straps you would want to use if you do not like the strap that came with it 

Oh and did I mention that Harvey bags are all made from wax canvas? (correct me if I am wrong though) there are proper instructions to take good care of the bag and Gouache did their job to put it on the tag that came with the Harvey

It's also water repellent, I actually got to test this one when I was on my way home from the Senate (GSIS, Xyza Bacani's talk) where it was raining heavily and me and my best friend had to walk to the LRT station  just so we could arrive home early as it is the worse time not to take advantage the chance of having seats in the train, when I got in the train I totally forgot that my bag got wet (surprisingly it is indeed water repellent, the water faded after some time though, it didn't damage any of my gears inside nor any water went through the bag) and I am more worried with the shoes I am wearing as it is a suede one. 

 one thing I wish though is that Gouache could have made more pockets in the front, I don't really like having my smartphone in my pocket and I often put it in the bag but it would be a lot easier to have a pocket in the front where you could access things you need at ease. 

overall, it is a beautiful Street camera bag and the best for daily use (the inserts can be removed). I thank Gouache for bringing these kinds of bags available for the local Photographers and it IS a PHILIPPINE made bag which is something worth mentioning. great quality, affordable than the "The Bowery" as it costs thrice as much than the Harvey (being sold for only 1900 PHP)

I'm pretty sure I'll be keeping an eye more of their latest products, I do hope I could buy the Holga one for my Mom cause she really likes it, but unfortunately I am currently broke as I spend everything I have in the past two days .__.
