Cindy wasn't exactly sure what the day was going to hold for them today, but she knew that she wanted to embrace it. There was a test to take, a project to turn in, and a party to help plan. She had thought that the whole Ivy League thing would make her feel a little better than she was feeling, but it was basically like having her Mom around, what with all the tension that came with it: she was STRESSED.

At least being a Senior meant an apartment with Jimmy.

"I swear to God, I'm going to come home and take a nice, hot bath, and then I'm going to read my book," Cindy announced as she poured herself some cereal that morning and then smiled at her boyfriend's bed head. "Don't you also have exams today?"

“you would die in a movie.”

“th-anks..?” he questions, with a an extended th sound, mostly because he’s unsure if he heard the other correctly, and now he isn’t sure if it’s a warning or a prediction. “probably? can’t imagine a good movie plot with a character like me living until the end. ya know, guy who gets himself into bigger danger so that his friends can go free? yep. that’s me. dead before the end.” his own words used as a double edged sword against himself, were they more like a prayer or a prediction? maybe he was overthinking things again. steve crosses his arms over his chest and shrugs, his attention falling to the other boy. “uh.. do you think you’d live in a movie like that?”

you're a good actor, a good liar. your masks are intricate and hand-carved. for your lover, you wear a mask of softness, quiet words uttered in the night. your friends, a boisterous laugh, always a joke at the ready. your professionalism at work and school is steady, allowing the occasional lapse to make a small joke. you have to keep them interested, after all. you have to please them. you are manipulation itself, your head is so full of your intricate webs there is nothing left. you might be the loneliest of them all, seeing as there's no one left behind your facade. you lost your real face long ago.

an undoing influence

Can someone tell you what to do? You have been carrying so much love within you for so long it is starting to turn into anger (why does it matter, all you see is red anyways) and you have been dragging this body through each day and every night you are split open on your bed and it is so so so lonely. If someone were to walk in while you were on your bed that way and they stitched you back in a new way, lining the seams with their love and kisses, you’d probably find this dreary world a little more bearable. You want someone to turn you over and over until you look in the mirror and see yourself looking back at yourself with a gentleness which has been lacking in you since forever.
