#gotta love a childhood book you're nostalgic for

Hi there. That 1993 First board golden book of mother goose nursery rhymes, does the back cover have twinkle twinkle little star? I'm trying to find a complete board book I had as a toddler and all I remember is very vague details. I'm trying to find it for my daughter.
Hi! That book doesn't have Twinkle Twinkle Little Star on its back cover, but it does have it as the final rhyme in the book! Here's the complete book in the order it's printed in:
The inside pages are all the standard, thick cardboard you'd expect from a board book, but the cover is slightly softer, it has a little give to it. If this is the correct book, the ISBN number is 0-307-06143-4 and there's actually a couple copies available for purchase on Thriftbook (though potentially with a different binding)
I hope this helps! If it is this book (or if it's not and you find the correct book later) please let me know, I'm invested in whether the hunt is successful ٩(^ᗜ^ )و ´-
#i love a good book hunt especially when they're miraculously successful#gotta love a childhood book you're nostalgic for#nursery rhymes#mother goose#little golden books#picture books#board books#1990s#90s#requested book#kidlit#you're really lucky - a lot of the books i couldn't find again easily even if i wanted to but this one i have readily available!#it's a childhood book my friend held onto so i needed to explain why i wanted to come raid her bookshelf for a book of nursery rhymes ahaha#fate is working in our favour here!#the art in this book is really lovely#the cat and the fiddle one is especially memorable to me that's still my default way of imagining that nursery rhyme

Gonna Write a DA Journal Meme as if I'm Melba because I'm bored woohoo
1. You must post the rules. 2. Each person must post 5 things about themselves in their journal. 3. Answer the questions the tagger set for you in their post, and create ten new questions for the people you tag to answer. 4. You have to choose 10 people to tag and post their icons on your journal. 5. Go to their page and tell them you have tagged them. 6. No tag backs. 7. No "you're tagged if you're reading this".
Reactions to the rules: Okay.
Soooo I've been tagged by my girlfriend Laikie. Woohoo! I'll just tag at random. Pew pew pew!

365 paper roses; oc x oc backstory
(Inspired by a story in wattpad. All characters rightfully belongs to me.)
TW: Grammatical Errors and Misspellings (I can't describe stuff well so please bear with my writing!)
Genre: Wholesome with some angst
It was quite a normal school day, Aureliana was grabbing books from her locker, letting out a sigh as she had no motivation to attend classes. She closed her locker almost slamming it.
As she cocked her head to the side, she saw Enzo's face inches away from hers. A blush crept up her cheeks as she took a step back. "What the heck, Enzo? You scared me" Aureliana said as she sighed in annoyance. In return, Enzo just smiled at her adding more fuel to Aureliana's annoyance.
"Relax, I just came to give you this" He said as he handed her a paper rose. "What's this for?" Aureliana tilted her head in confusion as she took the paper rose from his hand.
"Nothing just a small gift. Well gotta go see ya around, Aurey!" He said as he sprinted off waiving her goodbye. Aureliana was left stunned from his actions. She looked down at her hand and examined the paper rose, it was nothing special, there was nothing embedded in it. It was really just a simple paper rose.
Days has gone by and Enzo gave Aureliana a paper rose everyday. He never missed a day where he didn't give her one. Aureliana was still confused as to why he gave her these paper roses but she shrugged it off anyway.
One time, on her way to the school gate, she passed by Enzo's classroom. She glanced inside the classroom and the sight made her heart melt. Enzo was trying to figure out how to make a perfect paper rose without mistakes.
She kept the paper roses inside a small cabinet. It's number was increasing everyday, the thought made her smile subconsciously.
。◕‿◕。
It was a rainy evening, Aureliana was rummaging through the attic for a chance to find some nostalgic memories of her childhood. Instead, a certain blue box caught her eye. She grabbed the box and took it to her room, there she blew off some remaining dust and carefully opened it as to not damage the box.
Her eyes widened at the contents of the box. It was polaroid pictures of her and Enzo, they were smiling together and it seemed like they were closer than friends.
Underneath the polaroid pictures and some other memories, there she found doodles of Enzo in different poses. Subconsciously, tears started running down her cheek as memories came rushing in.
*Memories*
Enzo🖤
Hey love, when are you coming again?
I'm on my way
there(◍•ᴗ•◍)
Alright, message me when you're near, love you💗
Love you
too( ◜‿◝ )♡
Aureliana put her phone inside her pocket as the red light turned green. She revved her bike and as she was crossing the street, she tilted her head to the side and the last thing she saw was bright lights.
*Insert car crash sounds*
Enzo came rushing in to the hospital and to the reception. "Can you tell me where the room of Aureliana Ysaline is?" He said panting. The receptionist told him the room number and he wasted no time running there.
He barged in the room and there were doctors and nurses all around his beloved.
He couldn't believe his eyes, the woman he loved the most laid there almost lifeless and barely breathing with blood all over her beautiful face.
Her parents also came rushing in. After a while the doctor talked with them outside.
"Your daughter had been involved in a car crash. She lived but.." the doctor hesitated "but she received severe brain damage and gained amnesia." Aureliana's mother burst into tears as Aureliana's father rubbed her back, tears also stained his face.
Enzo was stunned. He felt his world came crashing down from the news of his beloved. Aureliana's parents told him to not try and communicate with Aureliana for a long while as she might receive severe shock. He had no choice but to agree for the sake of the love of his life.
"Hey, Aurey! What would you like as a gift for our anniversary?"
"Hmm.." Aureliana looked down in deep thought. "Just give me a paper rose, you need'nt overdo it" she smiled. Her warm smile made the boy's heart skip a beat.
"What about I give you 365 paper roses?"
"Are you sure?"
"If it's for you, of course yes"
"Fine, promise me, promise me that you'll give me 365 paper roses"
"I promise"
*End of memory*
Tears streamed down her face as memories of the love of her life came rushing in. She quickly went downstairs and put on boots
"Where are you going, Airuina?" Her mom asked. "I have to go buy supplies for a project mom! I'll be back by dinner" she said as she slammed the door shut.
She ran as fast as she could to her lover's apartment she didn't mind getting wet, she just wanted to see him again.
There she saw him sitting on the staircase. "Enzo, sweetheart" she smiled sadly. His head quickly jolted up to see her drenched figure.
"Aurey, what are you doing here it's raining! You didn't even bring an umbrel-" before he could even finish his sentence Aureliana rushed to hug him tightly, tears streaming down her face yet again. "You kept your promise" she said as her voice cracked. She pulled away and Enzo cupped her cheeks, evident tears running down his cheek as well. "Of course I did, I said I would always keep my promise to you right?" He leaned in to kiss her forehead. "No words nor actions can ever describe how much I love you"

Yo if you're still hearing out about nostalgic games I gotta talk about Dark Souls.
Halo is my Childhood, no doubt but Dark souls was kind of what transcended games for me as an experience that I could do more than just... react to and actually participate in.
It's not for everyone, thats for sure. But sometimes it's difficulty is rather exaggerated.
But it is the only sword and magic fantasy property that I REALLY care about because it works so beyond those archetypes. It's setting is so vastly intricate and interpetable because everything in that game exists for the player to create their own experience with, rather than have be explained to them. The stories that came before and the lore are just... footnotes in the players story. The backstory is seasoning every location rather than justifying it.
Idk man it's something I just keep coming back to again and again.
I barely know the Souls lore but I appreciate anyone who likes that huge sprawling world and has a better attitude than "get good".
Unfortunately my intro to dark souls was a college dorm rec room of asshole dudebros, but I still appreciate how insane the lore is and how big the maps are. It has a weight to it and I love games that people get attached to.
It's interactive storytelling! You get to make choices and affect these worlds and see all the little details someone left for you to find. Games are different from movies and books and I love them for it.
Video games, man.
#asks#tbonechessor#thank you for the ask#sorry for taking a whole business day to respond#I just fucking love games you can get lost in#video game asks

!!! making your own soulmates is so special because it's a concious choice on both of your parts, which is so much better. like, yeah, it's cool to think that the universe thought you and this other person should know each other, but it's even better for us!! humans!! to be able to accomplish that same feat, finding our way to someone else because of pure willpower, or even pure accident. we're all just fumbling around, and on the chance that you find someone to hold your hand through it all, yeah. now that is special.
shdfklsjdf you make such a good point, all the writers who tackle memory loss fics are really talented and maybe a touch evil /j i'm sure they're all wonderful people with amazing talent.
SUMMER AESTHETIC IS "COOL" OH MY GOD KSDJFLK. that,, does that even qualify as a pun?? either way, ily for that /p. pun dorks rise up! i have no idea when i learned about the flavors that weren't, but yeah, that was a very disappointing day. i have to agree, warm water does not sound very nice at all!!
artists: Fun. very nostalgic, don't have too too much content and i don't think they're active as of late, but yea. also The Strumbellas, idk if it's just me but they have 'road trip at 8pm in the middle of summer' vibes. All Time Low, chloe moriondo, Oliva Rodrigo, there's a bunch of others but off the top of my head, those are a few!
and yES i love feeling nostalgic. sometimes it hurts, though. when you're listening to music, or reading a book, and it just crashes over you for a minute. nostalgia,, nostalgia is such a powerful force because it can make you feel worse or so much more alive. nostalgia is an interesting concept too, because it's so strange how the smallest little things can transport you back to childhood. and then you're sitting next to your childhood best friend in the hot sun, tired from chasing each other around the playground, and you're hiding behind their door so that you never have to leave, and you're riding your bike while the sun starts to set, and you're going on vacations and trips that you barely even remember. and like ?? you're telling me nobody else wants to suddenly sit down and cry when they see this specific shade of green? or that you don't see my shirt and immediately think of being hugged and wishing you could be forever eight years old?? and no! i don't think that your bracelet looks like the beach along the coast, or that seeing a glass-stained window feels like my childhood!! but good for you, always keep those little pieces of memories stored in the most random of objects.
the future? hm,, in some aspects, yeah. i can't wait to be alive and independent, screaming at the sky at age nineteen. i can't wait to look at a book and go "hey, i read that years ago! i loved it". because the future is so,, malleable in your head. you can do whatever you would like in the future, because it hasn't happened yet. and maybe it won't, but it's always nice to dream, yknow? i'm not sure if that counts as the future future, or more just dreaming.
do you prefer thinking about the past or the future? when you picture "nostalgia" and "good vibes", what mental image comes to mind? - 🌵
bestie how DARE you say i have good words when you say stuff like THIS and expect me to be okay holy shit your words are the best and im. hang on. i have to stop typing for a sec to just. go reread it. "we're all just fumbling around, and on the chance that you find someone to hold your hand through it all, yeah. now that is special." OKAY. YEAH. yeah yeah yeah. exactly.
oooh wait omg i love road trip vibes!! i gotta go listen to them right now!! and YES chloe moriondo and olivia rodrigo!! fun fact im listening to sour right now lmaooo
OKAY. your words about nostalgia i'd quote them but i'd just be pasting the whole paragraph you wrote so. suffice it to say ily /p and your words are beautiful and perfect.
yeah, i think it's interesting if a little sad to think about the difference between the future and just dreaming. but hey, who says you have to make them completely separate? where's the fun in that? there's no telling what could happen next, so let your imagination decide for itself :)
gosh i think i like thinking about the past more. thinking about the future stresses me out, and when i think about the past i just feel nostalgic and wish i could go back to those times! it's like, even if i feel bad about things i did or didn't do in the past, hey, it happened, i gotta move on. but in the future, i don't know what i'll do or what i won't do, i just hope i make the right choices, and i honestly can't tell if i will, and that's terrifying. so, i like thinking about the past !! sldjflsdjfldj
when i picture nostalgia and good vibes, i picture laughter and playgrounds and sleepovers and holding hands and i think of school from back when i enjoyed it, and i think of friends from back when i didn't constantly worry about having them. idk.
what's your top 3 or top 5 songs on sour? do you enjoy thinking about your past? i know we talked about time travel and messing with time a little while back, but here's a question: if you had the option of traveling forward or backwards in time, would you do either one and if so, which one + why? ily <3

what are the top 5 in your to-read list of books? Does this list change frequently or are there some books that you've been wanting to read for years, but still haven't? When there are movies or tv show adaptions of books, do you go out of your way to read the books which they were based on? What are the three worst books you have ever read, and did you finish them? What do you look for when you're looking for a new book to read? Do you have a favourite author, a favourite genre, or themes?
Ah thank you for these!
what are the top 5 in your to-read list of books?
This changes all the time cause there are so many things I wanna read, but at the moment it’s probably:- Cathedral by Raymond Carver- The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood- either Medium Raw or Kitchen Confidential (preferably both but whatev) by Anthony Bourdain- In Praise of Forgetting by David Rieff- something by Shirley Jackson, probs We Have Always Lived in the Castle or The Haunting of Hill House
Does this list change frequently or are there some books that you’ve been wanting to read for years, but still haven’t?
Dude omg. There’s things on my book list that have been there since the beginning of time, like things that I’ve started but not finished and then neglected but I still wanna read them!? Like The Witches by Stacy Schiff and the Penguin Book of Witches and The Secret History by Donna Tartt and Keats by Andrew Motion… Around a third of my bookshelf is stuff I’ve bought but still not read. It’s terrible. I just can’t stop buying books lol. I’ve wanted to read The Second World War by Antony Beevor for ages, and Wide Sargasso Sea by Jean Rhys… so many! One day!!
When there are movies or tv show adaptions of books, do you go out of your way to read the books which they were based on?
If the movie was good and I enjoyed it then I might read the book afterwards, depends on the story. Usually if I see something based on a book I’ll have either already read it, or if it’s interesting enough then yeah I won’t see the movie until I’ve read the book.
What are the three worst books you have ever read, and did you finish them?
I’ve probably suppressed those memories so I’m having a hard time thinking of shitty books….Oh wait no! Anastasia by Colin Falconer was pretty bad. idk why I read that. I didn’t really like The Maze Runner series tbh, like the writing wasn’t great and I thought the plot got progressively worse as it went on. (it’s not like the worst thing ever but I remember it just being tedious and not great to read). And lmao I read this like erotic vampire novel when I was like 14 called Child of the Night and it was so fucking bad and had a ridiculous premise and was actually quite damaging in terms of its depictions of abuse and women and relationships and stuff?? I did finish all those books though, unfortunaely.
What do you look for when you’re looking for a new book to read?
I usually look for something that looks kinda ~literary~~, as snobbish as that is, but I like books that are a bit serious or have big themes or something, or have won some sort of prize or acclaim. But it’s also gotta sound interesting, so just a good plot or maybe something that sounds a bit unexpected.
Do you have a favourite author, a favourite genre, or themes?
I love Charlotte Bronte, and I really enjoy Ian McEwan. I’ve read nearly all of his stuff, and I’m writing my thesis on a few of his books, but I think nowadays I’m more critical of his work and don’t always fawn over everything he does like I used to. I also love Roald Dahl for nostalgic reasons.. I guess my fav genre is like…realistic fiction? Literary fiction? Idk how to describe it. I like books that deal with memory, history, time, family structures, sex/sexuality, childhood, irrevocable acts, things that are considered taboo, and I guess books that rly get into the interiority of characters and their psychology.
