me 🤝a lot of silly monsters from folklore
arbitrary rules which dictate our existence and would snuff us out in an instant if we tried to break them
intolerance to things most people need to live
old ladies have an irrational fear of us
freaks want to jump our bones
you can trace stories about us all the way back to the epic of gilgamesh
fooled death, yet does not pass for human
hate churches
old country

All of horror is about a release, orgasm is inevitable
“The point of horror is to survive” “the point of horror is to be doomed” maybe the point of horror is to cum

Hey y'all- we have officially launched World Gone Wrong! It would mean a ton to me if you would go check out this show- we've have been pouring our heart and soul into it over the past six months.
You can listen on Apple Podcasts or Spotify, or you can search "world gone wrong" wherever you listen to podcasts. MOST IMPORTANTLY- go tell your friends to listen, if you think they'd like the show~ The show is an unapologetic response to the feeling of "every day there is a new disaster"- except in this fictionalized version, the disasters we're dealing with are werewolves, alien body snatchers, time distortions, etc- basically every episode of The X-Files and Supernatural happening at the same time. It's also a celebration of the importance of deep, connected friendships- something we feel doesn't get enough prominence in media. The show stars Michael Turrentine and Hilary Williams- and the first chapter was written by Jessica Best (@idiopathicsmile), and produced and created by Eleanor Hyde and Jeffrey Nils Gardner (@euripidesredux) ~ We're so ABSURDLY lucky to get to work with these wonderful artists- it's been an absolute joy so far. ALSO- we're throwing a party to celebrate! Saturday, April 6 at 8pm! Whiskey Girl Tavern in Andersonville- we'll have the band who played our theme song (Olivia and the Lovers) doing a set, and we'd love to see you!
No cover, good times! Link for rsvp/reminders here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/world-gone-wrong-launch-party-tickets-856416874927?utm-campaign=social&utm-content=attendeeshare&utm-medium=discovery&utm-term=listing&utm-source=cp&aff=ebdsshcopyurl

I am once again hungry for new horror fiction podcasts. I have listened to (or attempted to since I'm really picky) literally every one that's been on any rec list ever. I'm going insane. I might give some I didn't like a second chance.
Maybe I can look for more scifi ones? Our fair city is my all time favorite and wolfe 359 is also really good. Anyone have any scifi recs? Or really obscure horror recs?

okay since my last post about The Passenger 2023 got “hype” and people wanted me write fics for it I’ve been thinking about the small town location-
One of my favorite aspects of the southern gothic sub genre is how it plays with atmosphere. The south is such a visceral experience and feeling, the small town locations, the surrounding houses and worn down grocery marts, the isolated community and the people with their tangible loneliness. Its got this sense of being cut off from the rest of the world that I myself experienced growing up in a rural town. The environment both physical and socially cultural become a character in themselves and this is very tangible throughout The Passenger 2023
But I also love how this experience extends to Benson and Randy. How it sculpts who they are as individuals and how they’ve (very differently) dealt with traumatic events. It’s in the way Randy’s coworkers don’t take his masculinity seriously, targeting him as an outlier. It’s in the way Benson has a shotgun in his trunk and a cabinet full of guns back at his house. It’s in the way Benson calls his mom ‘ma’ and how in those seven or more hours Randy and Benson circle home because they’ve never experienced anywhere else. Wouldn’t really know how to. It’s where they experienced everything bad and good in life. To leave it without a glance back? Well that’s just impossible. Especially considering where Randy and Benson are at in regards to their mental health/over all mentality. Both having not been able to move on or heal from damage caused during childhood, both having been hurt in a space meant to be safe for children.
They each carry this immense amount of guilt for very different reasons and rural town America knows how to nourish shame like none else.

Looking for media recommendations for small-town supernatural mysteries
Lately I've been wanting more stories set in a little rural town with dark secrets hidden under the surface. I'm down for literally any medium except a movie. TV show, webcomic, audiodrama, actual play, videogame, whatever. Here's some examples which I have watched/read/listened to for reference. Bolded are ones I really liked and are exactly what I'm looking for.
TV Shows: Gravity Falls, Scooby Doo: Mystery Incorporated, Stranger Things
Audiodramas: Harbor, Unwell: A Midwest Gothic Mystery, Bridgewater, Where the Stars Fell, My Town
Videogames: Beacon Pines, Night in the Woods

WHOA! It's our second episode!
We get a little more existential this episode with the question- what's up with the extra hour that appeared in the middle of the day?
