Alright… I see. I’ve heard of punk rock, obviously, but yeah had never heard of “goth music” before, well, the poll. Insane. I’ve only ever heard of The Cure from the list of artists too, lmaoo. I asked my dad abt “goth music” because he actually listened to punk music in college, and he did know 😭 why am I the only one.

I’m going insane?? Most people really know this??

I feel like I hear the term “punk rock” literally all the time, just in everyday conversations. However, if you ask me what comes to mind when you say “goth,” I would literally just think of someone dressed in all black. I had absolutely no clue there always any association with music at allllll wtfffff

Edit: my mom (she’s 59) had never heard of it. Idk guys, do most people really know this?!?? Ik that’s one person, but your poll is also on the gay goth people website. Of course they know more than the avg person

Transformation #1- Goth subculture

I will be transforming my social identity using makeup, hair, clothing & jewellery. I will be transforming my social identity into a gothic social identity, this will be based on the stereotypical gothic look with a dark and black aesthetic. I am taking inspiration from images such as these classic and modern goth looks. I am also taking transformation inspiration from transformation artists Cindy Sherman and Grayson Perry.
