Comparison has a way of creeping up on us. Bible’s, coffee mugs, and fresh flowers beautifully styled in a photo made to be framed. In an instant covetousness and envy become our friends and we are left looking around at our own portion with discontentment. Before we know it our thoughts lead us into sinful actions and our pride will let us think it is okay. We are a sinful and wretched people and the only solution to it is the gospel. • Christ was the perfect sacrifice. He died for our sins of covetousness, envy, and pride. Because of Christ’s finished work on the cross we are free from comparison. We don’t have to have perfectly styled Instagram photos, because we have a perfect Savior who loves us and died to save us from eternal damnation. Rather than comparing ourselves to our followers, let us strive to look more like Jesus. . . . . #gospelhope #goodnewsfeed #preachthegospel #makedisciples #wellwateredwomen #thedailyco #savedbygrace #gritandvirtue #thegoodnews #Faithbloggers #christianblogger #risenmotherhood #shereadstruth #hereadstruth

"What the crap?"
IKEA reminds me of God...a lot more than maybe is normal. I've probably already shared that before that's how more than normal it is. You get home with this box of what seems like a million random pieces and after a lot of Allen wrench wrangling and crumpling up pages of little illustrations called instructions in frustration, you come out of it all with something really cool and usually beautiful. BUT if you just stopped somewhere in-between the beginning and end, picked up a random piece, and then only focused on that one piece it probably wouldn't seem so cool or beautiful. I'm in that spot....looking at one slice of life and saying, "What the crap is this? Can this even be used for anything?" I'm just over focused on this one piece and not remembering the end game. He works all things for good for those who love him. All things. Not some things. Not just the pretty nice easy on the heart things. All things. He is God over the step your on and the one ahead and the one after that and he knows how to lay the path for you. He is loving, kind, and merciful to us. This step is the one. It's the one he wants you and I on to show us more of himself. To display his ability to be God for you and for others. To rescue and care for you. It's a good step. It may look to us shortsighted gals like crap or even feel like it, but it's not. It's a good step. Because it is the step placed by God. I'm looking forward to the beauty of seeing this moment in my life as good. I'm praying for that. Because I want to remember that end game of a well run race, a life lived in obedience, a hope filled, Jesus focused life is a cool and beautiful thing. Take courage. It's ok if you, like me are picking up this piece and saying, "What the crap is this?" He came down here just for us who forget and have our hearts turned towards things that aren't him. He isn't sitting in expectation that we will get it right and then face palm when we don't. He knows us and he chooses to love us and help us anyway. He loves you. I'm fighting to grab that reality as I'm looking at this piece of my life and really cram it in hard. God sees our wayward selves, loves us, and isn't angry with our failures. I hope you guys are having hopefilled weeks. "I will heal their waywardness and love them freely, for my anger has turned away from them." Hosea 14:4

“Much of the glory of God appears in the works of creation and providence, but much more in the gospel, where it shines in the face of Jesus Christ.” // Matthew Henry • True preaching of the gospel must include news of the Lord’s holiness, justice, and grace, and if any of these are left out, then the glory of God is obscured because His character is not fully declared.” // R.C Sproul • Are you equipped to present these attributes of God when you share the gospel? . . . . #gospelhope #goodnewsfeed #preachthegospel #makedisciples #wellwateredwomen #thedailyco #savedbygrace #gritandvirtue #thegoodnews #Faithbloggers #christianblogger #risenmotherhood #shereadstruth #hereadstruth

Jesus didn’t only come to save, but He came to seek and save. Something we couldn’t do being dead in our sin. We would never seek Him out. But through His death on the cross, Jesus Christ accomplished the work that is required to be made right with God and be saved from His wrath. • “No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up on the last day.” // John 6:44 . . . . #gospelhope #goodnewsfeed #preachthegospel #makedisciples #wellwateredwomen #thedailyco #savedbygrace #gritandvirtue #thegoodnews #Faithbloggers #christianblogger #risenmotherhood #shereadstruth #hereadstruth

“When we believe and apply the gospel, we will not need to pretend we are sinless but will instead be free to repent of our sins and ask forgiveness as we look to God’s true and faithful Son, Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith. • God showed His love for us by sending His Son to live and die for us, and we are to show our love for our family by pointing them to Jesus Christ whose love for us never changes. • Christian couples don’t ever fall out of love, they fall out of being repentant. The gospel hope for our broken homes is our broken and contrite hearts that turn daily to Jesus Christ and His brokenness for us on the cross as our Savior and Lord.” // Burk Parsons . . . . #gospelhope #goodnewsfeed #preachthegospel #makedisciples #wellwateredwomen #thedailyco #savedbygrace #gritandvirtue #thegoodnews #Faithbloggers #christianblogger #risenmotherhood #shereadstruth #hereadstruth

M.I.R. (Mini Internal Rapper)
All us, in the courtyard of death and dying Some us joyful weeping, some us crying. All us, on the step stone of life and living Some us stand rising, some us just surviving Some us took in with all them lies given cheap, just us the asking price. Some us on that stone alter looking up Too sedate on ourselves to mutter "it's enough"
