Stunning and astounding and life-entering beyond words. This film reached into my life. I'm beyond anything words could really express, with @jokermovie. A timeless masterpiece. Proof positive that REAL and ACTUAL and HUMAN films are still being made. ♾/10. The film...is tragic in meta ways. Someone who felt so unseen, ironically his life is so worth seeing and learning about as a cautionary tale. Joker is also @toddphillips1 the director, shedding comedy after the Hangover trilogy. Joker is also @dccomics itself, shedding poppy attempts to be @marvel and returning to its dark roots. By faaaaar my favourite film this year so far. It’s not a comic book film in soul (that’s the whole point) but since it'll be somewhat bracketed in that genre by definition then yes, it is BY FAR my favourite adaptation of that material of any kind, ever. Like, #Joker is straight up calling people out, Calling creators out who DARE to make something that doesn't honour the opportunity of being able to tell a REAL STORY, and instead pump out conveyor belt studio-designed drivel and try and gaslight the public into believing its art. Can you believe it's 2019 and we’re talking about a film that surpasses #TheDarkKnight? Like it by faaaar outpaces anything Nolan, in sheer fucking...RAW-ness. That scene when his old co workers come over after his mom dies...that fucking scene.
