It was a nice day, the sun shined bright on a cloudless sky, a sight most unusual for that time of the year, as the autumn approached quietly with the breeze becoming each day frizzier and the day shorter still, all the while the familiar perfume of the seasonal candies wafted all around the palace.

Everything made her happy that morning, including the innocent pranks Clavis threw at everyone who wandered in the garden, even more since she got the news that the King had taken a day off his duties with the official announcement he had to take care of private matters, and in a way it was.

For someone like her, it was easy to discover the truth behind the facade. 

He was doing it for her, to spend some precious time with his family, the one they created together with their love.

She knew he never did things he deemed worthless, nor wasted his time, something that made the love she had for him grow stronger, even more at the sight of those icy eyes softening for her alone, revealing a secret she discovered long ago, one that he would have undoubtedly denied, but that was clear as day as he hugged her and their sons, because the truth was that those moments were priceless for him.

She sat on the sofa by the window reading, per usual, a romance, smiling to herself as she bathed in the blissful moment, their wonderful story much sweeter than any book ever could, a thought he shared, written as clear as day in his soft light blue eyes looking affectionately at her above the music sheets, so warm set her heart race in her chest as it was the first time.

She knew it now, and thanks to her, he knew it too.

She smiled as she looked fondly around her, catching a glimpse of golden locks, hidden behind a book. Their elder son resembled his father so much every day, quiet and hard-working, he strangely had little interest in fighting but was a great strategist. 

Right now he was reading and taking notes from a heavy tome that looked old and pretty boring for everyone else, but to him, engrossed in his reading, so much nothing could distract him, or so she thought, in fact, as she least expected it, he raised his light blue gaze on her smiling softly before resuming his work.

A serious personality in stark contrast to his little brother’s, who took way too much from her, a dreamer that did his best to make the others happy, much more like Leon in that regard, energetic a force to be reckoned with, a boundless creativity that colored everything in sight, his gaze glimmering with admiration as he admired the way Chevalier’s elegant fingers slide effortlessly on the piano keys.

A sweet melody he composed only for her, coming straight from his heart and from all the love they shared together, a tender smile on his lips as he invited him to play along following his guide, his deep low voice resonated in the still air of that lazy autumn afternoon as the sun bathed everything in its warm colors.

Affection poured from every word, leaving her astounded at his improvement, knowing deep down he did it for her and for their children, showing them that love he was always deprived of but always yearned for.

Undeniable proof that the brutal beast had a heart that beat only for her, and for that family he had the luck to create along the only woman who always believed in his humanity when no one else did, not even himself, proving him once and for all the deep value and priceless worth of true love.

Ive noticed a lack of information on techno-magic and what being a tech witch might entail! Tech magic is the use of modern-day technology in our magical practices! This can be a secular practice OR someone may pair other aspects of theology into it! There is also 'Technopaganism' which is the merge of neopaganism and digital magic. Some people may worship tech and its energy or some people simply use it as a tool for ritual magic!

In this post I wanted to showcase a few ideas to get you started in the tech practice! The first section being common tools, the second is common tech practices, and the last is about how to take steps into your new tech practice and advance forward!

Use mechanical processes in your spells (for example your cars computer could be a green light charm if you hate waiting in red lights)

Create digital grimoires on places like notation or google docs

Create altars on places like Pinterest or sandbox games

Play video games with intentions, like tycoon games for prosperity and FPS for warding

Use autotune during chants to add more power to your voice

Use screens for scrying or intuition practices

Shufflemancy is when you shuffle through a playlist and get a song as a form of divination

Use the energy of a crystal on your screen if you don't physically have one

If you have been following the Genshin Impact (Genshin) news lately, you would have more or less heard about the Chinese players instantly unfollowing Genshin in all of their socials, including the companies that has collaborated with Hoyoverse.

I know there are a lot of people talking about it and you'd be wondering, "is this going to be another one of those posts?"

Truthfully, I don't know because I don't really plan what I write here... The most I do is just go back and read from the top to make sure I am making sense, not unintentionally offending anybody, and editing parts that needs to be edited.

So, just humour me and join me on this wild ride, yeah?

First off, for the benefit of those who are blissfully unaware of what is going on, Hoyoverse announced in their 4.4 Special Programme that they are giving away three intertwined fates and some other stuff to players for all of their support for the past three years.

I know that line is going to piss some people off already like, three? THREE? HONKAI STAR RAIL GETS A F***ING 5 STAR CHARACTER FOR FREE AND WE ONLY GET 3 INTERTWINED FATES??

So, yeah, that is technically what people were mad about because the rewards, in Hoyoverse fashion, were stingy.

Honestly, I can understand why they decided to give three intertwined fates because, as they said, it is for the past THREE years players have been supporting the game. Seeing the link?

But of course, it is also considered injustice to, not only the players, but also the game itself.

Like I mentioned earlier, Honkai Star Rail (HSR) has a free 5-star character... not just any 5-star character, a FEATURED 5-star character... being sent out to all HSR players through the in-game mail system.

In case some of you are not HSR players and are also blissfully unaware of the significance of this terrible news, it is just like Hoyoverse giving out a free Zhongli to all Genshin players on the first year of the game's release.

Many Genshin veterans here can tell you that Genshin has never received a free featured 5-star character in the first two years of the game's release. The free characters that we keep getting are all 4-stars, and most of the time, we already have them at C6 from our attempts to get the featured 5-star banners.

Before I go any further, what I just mentioned is only part of the reason why players are so mad at Hoyoverse.

The other reason to why all of this big hoohaa is simply because of the way the message was conveyed.

I missed the Special Programme and wasn't aware of how bad it was until a Content Creator in TikTok covered this. I was aware of players unfollowing Genshin on the socials but not what the TikToker covered.

Basically, it was the way the appreciation message was delivered. At first, I thought people were just exaggerating. Just before I started writing this post, I went to search for the Special Programme and watched it.

I stand corrected.

It is just like the TIkToker said in his video. There is a difference when saying "😭❤️I appreciate you guys❤️😭" and "😐I appreciate you guys😐".

Of course, we all would like to have the first one, but unfortunately, the young announcer was more towards the second one.

For the record, I don't blame him. He could have been tired, or had a bad day, and it is totally fine. I think what really pisses players off is, truthfully, the timing of everything.

This is where I get back to my previous point earlier. HSR gave out a free featured 5-star character within its first year release, and Genshin is giving out only three intertwined fates, along with some other things, as an appreciation gift for the three years support.

It is time to make a statement here, people.

Hoyoverse, it is not about the way the message was delivered. It is about the blatant favoritism you are showing through your games. We all get that Honkai Impact 3rd was the game that pulled you guys to the top and it is perfectly fine if that game has a special place in everybody's hearts in the Hoyoverse company. But it is not right to do things like this.

I'd rather Hoyoverse take back the 5-star character in HSR to make it fair across all games. To be honest, if Hoyoverse doesn't start to treat Genshin with more respect it deserves, the game is essentially going to lose a lot of players.

I have said my piece. I know Hoyoverse is never going to look at this but I really hope that they realise that what they are doing to the non-Honkai games is really creating animosity between themselves and the player-base.

What do I use?

Other than Google Docs (obviously), — Fontspace | A background remover [my mains: 1, 2] | Pinterest/WeHeartIt/Google search, and other sources for pretty pictures, pngs, etc. 🤍🌙

bundling images

Using the different text wrapping options, I found that it helped a lot more to "bundle" images together, so that things look prettier + more organised.

! example

This is pretty simple, honestly; Fontspace provides font text as pictures, transparent bg and not, — so organising the text from it will fall under the tut for this bit.

^ These are the text wrapping options. The first one is the default and limits text placement/movement, the other four allow you to move text where-ever on the document (especially if print view is off) but each do different things.

In order of settings, examples (press images to see properly):

! tip : If you're bundling images that "overlap" too much, make sure to crop at least one (or however many needed) past its actual size so that it won't be a pain in the ass moving them later on.

- You may also use "behind text" for one of them, if it helps, so that it's easier to select the images, this also applies to using image over text (examples in each image).

Using these features, I'll—as per the aesthetic of my script—sort things accordingly. Get creative with the way you're doing this, and keep experimenting 'till you're able to make stuff look the way you want, lol.

Going into the aesthetics more ;; I usually pick diff aesthetics for each script and refuse to script until I find a pretty one LMFOAOAO- But I especially go for inspiration from (Korean?) bullet journal aesthetics which include lots of image bundling and customised tables.

Why korean ones specifically? Idk the difference, but using "Korean" as a keyword gets the stuff I'm looking for. 💀 But I also search for little pngs I want to add to my script; and if it's a false transparent png or has any background, I use my background removers to make it an actual transparent png.

And, sometimes, I like to search for colours then use my snip tool to screenshot them really thin, like those brown-beige borders you see in all my posts, then use them in my script like highlighter lines, like-

That's pretty much it, really.

Fontspace fonts apply as well. One thing about Fontspace is that, you can change the colour of the text ;; as well as the background.

The brown colour is the text's colour, the blue one is the background's colour. You can of course choose to have no background, but it's there as an option.

I don't know of any features where you can save a colour but that's maybe me being dumb ;; but what I do is set a certain colour (i.e. blue) then use the colour adjustment in google docs to change it to black, red, or whatever over colours r in the script.

I hope this makes sense bc explaining this was harder than I thought. 💀💀 Once again I can clear anything up if needed

! tips

Keywords you can use for tiny decorations, are "clipart", "[aethetic name] clipart transparent png", "[aesthetic name] sticker png transparent", etc.

You can have a look at the aesthetics wiki for ideas for your script

Fotor is what I use to crop images into different shapes, and it is how I got the circle/heart shaped pictures in my documents ^-^*

I just spent a solid hour trying to track down the source of an image that popped up on my dash. No link, no signature no tags and op isn't the op.

In the last 4 or 5 years this has gotten harder, websites went to shit or closed down, people deactivated accounts cause of AI scraping and google images reverse image search is just terrible now.

And then there is Pinterest. King Shitheel of the Lands of Don't Post Sources For Shit! Oh, how I loathe thee! And not to forget SoundCloud and Lets Rob This And Use It As Cover Art Without Permission Or Linking To The Op.

I have a lot of anger built up over the years for both of those, if you couldn't tell.

I did eventually find a completely different image from the same set, then I found an uncropped version of that image that did have a signature, the breakthrough I needed.

Image to image to facebook to tumblr to pinterest back to images, 2 forums and back to tumblr and on to a deviantart page that was deactivated 8 years ago via wayback machine.

VICTORY!!!

And all of that could've been avoided if you posted it uncropped with the signature or did the work yourself and linked to the photographers current socials.

tysm for this ask 🫶🏼 below the cut is a step by step on how to do this kind of set. i will be using photoshop 2023 for this tutorial.

original inspiration was taken from sith-maul’s zendaya lookbook gifset !

step 1: cropping

for this style to work, your gif needs to be tall. the best dimensions are 540x700. make sure you don’t have too many frames because the bigger the crop, the bigger the file size !!

the other thing you want to do is crop it a little to the left or to the right, whichever works best. this is so you can slot in the photos of the outfit :)

step 2: colouring

to make the whole thing more cohesive later on, how you colour your set is important. for the demonstration, i’m using a clip of jenna from her interview with who what wear, which has a lot of easy to manipulate colours. because the main colour is obviously pink, i’ll use a colour balance layer, a selective colour layer and a hue/sat. layer. 

be mindful when using hue/sat and colour balance that you’re not whitewashing your subject or dramatically altering their skin tone. if there is low movement in the gif, you can use layer masks to prevent this.

you can see here that there’s a huge difference in the old vs. new colouring, which is what we want !!

step 3: source your pics

probably the easiest step. you can either just google search for pictures [person] [event/photoshoot] is the best way to search for that, or you can search for something on pinterest. you want one picture that’s ideally head to toe, plus another showcasing the outfit from around waist up.

step 4: edit the photos.

now that we’ve got our photos, load those into ps. once loaded in, you’re going to want to go to select > subject and then go option + cmd + x (for mac, i’m sorry idk the windows prompt !) and then just paste that on a new layer.

depending, the photo may select some of the background. but there’s really nothing you can do about that, so you just have to tidy it up manually using the eraser tool.

now my photo looks like this !

crop the photo to the same size as your gif and repeat the same process for the other photo.

step 5: placement of the photos

first off, duplicate your photos onto the gif. then, resize them to your liking. ideally, you want the full shot going from top to bottom on the gif, and the medium shot positioned down from it. 

i also make the medium shot a little bit smaller, so we can highlight the head to toe. as well as that, put the head to toe shot behind the medium shot by swapping their layer orders.

here’s a ss of what mine looks like, just to give you an idea.

step 6: colouring the photos

first stop: add a black and white gradient map. completely ignore the fact the gradient map will go over everything; we’ll fix it in one sec ! colour the photos as normal: curves, levels, anything you do in your normal colouring process. just make sure all the layers are underneath your gradient map layer ! 

on top of it all, add a gradient layer and change it to a colour in the outfit. you can click and drag it in all different directions to get to a good point. don’t forget to change the angle of it so it fits best !

for example, here’s mine:

you can see that the gradient gradually goes up on the outfit, leaving it almost half half. 

now, select all the layers that are over the first picture and right click > clipping mask. this clipping mask will make sure that all your colouring layers ‘clip’ only to your picture. DO NOT select the picture layer as well. this should be what you have:

the arrows show that it has clipped to the subject.

now, just repeat those colouring steps on the other pic so you’re starting to look like this:

OPTIONAL: i usually change the blending mode of my gradient layer to ‘colour’ so it blends nicer on the picture, it’s not compulsory, but the result looks better. you can also choose to sharpen your pictures if you like !

step 7: typography

there’s two main things you want: the title of it (this could be a fashion brand or maybe a show/film name if you want to do this for a character) which will be in a statement font as well as the location or the date (could be the episode and the episode air date or the film premiere date) to start, create your layer above the colouring layers for the gif, but below the pictures of your person. 

for this tutorial, i’m using the font ‘magazine’ but you can really use any font you want, as long as it stands out against the cover.

next up, you’ll want to search ‘map pin point png’ on google and get your little pin point icon. this will be so you can add the location and the date, or whatever you want to add. i change the font that i use for the subheading, just to switch things up ! you can do whatever you like though.

here’s what i’ve got for my subheadings. make sure that you’re placing it in the empty space on the bottom corner, not on top of your pictures.

and that’s it ! you can add any other finishing touches that you’d like, or do any other effects that you want. this is simply a base for you to work off, but you can change things wherever you deem it necessary to improve upon. apologies for this being so long 😭 hopefully it helped a little though !

He was a yaksha. She was a yōsei.

They should never have met.

But they did.

That meeting was only the beginning of something that was destined to change them.

Moonless curls cascaded over her shoulder, scattered in the wind adorning a gorgeous visage, big and round tourmaline eyes, a canvas of emotions, glimmering just like the gem itself as the light flickered and swam in them sheltering under the feeble shadow of her long and graceful eyelashes, her lips a rose bud curled in gentle, albeit shy, half-confident, ever kind, smiles.

She alone shone bright in the night like a star with her fair complexion and her emerald kimono, that hugged luscious feminine curves he was unused to, moving so gracefully as she walked with a touch of innocent sensuality that it was hard to tame and impossible to resist, bewitching him to get closer and get burn in her light.

Like a moth was drawn to a flame even though it hurt its wings, he was drawn to her irresistibly because he didn't know any other way to live.

A mad desire burned in him to know more about that mermaid, that enchantress that put a spell on him bewitching his every sense against any rationality.

In what maybe everyone else would have seen the bud of love he saw his ruin, and yet this too was not enough to pull him away from her.

Her quick wits and curious nature luring him in to discover more of her, to ask, to seek, to understand that entrancing mystery she was to him, forbidden desires kept him awake until late at night, picturing all that could have been between them.

He was defenseless caught in strange ideas in a daze between dreams and reality, until Morphoeus coaxed him to sleep dreaming of her in vivid real dreams he woke up from sweating, shook to the core with an inexplicable yearn to make them real, to have her in his house as she was in his heart.

The only thing preventing him from pursuing his dreams was the fact that his plan, inevitably, would have upset her.

But this too was not enough to pull him away from her, unconsciously scanning the crowd looking for her like a man gone mad with love.

And maybe he was.

Little did he care about that, even though his business partner couldn’t say the same, but nothing ever stopped his determination.

Or so he thought.

Deep down he knew that if she had said so much of a word against his plan he would have tried to listen, that's how much of a fool love made of him.

In the end he was no better than his sister, damning himself for love.

His past self would have mocked such a thing, but he was no longer the man he was before meeting her and he surely couldn’t go back to being.

Their meeting was a chance.

Their love destiny.

It happened on a visit to a nearby village, way too close to Azuchi for his liking, but business was like that and he had no intention to let anything stop that trip from going on smoothly.

But he hadn’t taken her into account.

It was sunset, the meeting had just ended and he really couldn’t wait to go home at once but the roads were stuck for a festival.

He frowned in annoyance, deeming better to walk by foot than to wait for who knows how long to cross the city on horseback thus he gave up on the idea of borrowing one, grateful for the fact his loyal white mane stayed at the inn while he reached the merchant’s house by rickshaw.

It was then he saw her, standing like the sun at the center of everything.

“It must be a festival, what a bother they are holding it today of all days.”

His companion rebuffed annoyed but he couldn’t hear him bewitched as he was from that sight.

Beautiful like the moon, and as much as unreachable, was her dancing with a man with rosy hair, who judging by his expression, was coaxed in the dance by her.

And in the moment she smiled he knew exactly why.

There was no doubt any man would have fallen on his knees giving up all for her if she smiled, he knew because he felt the same way, fact soon proved as he looked around seeing women and men alike enraptured by her.

A yōsei casting her good grace and kindness like a rain of cherry blossom petals in spring, her laugh tingling like the rain caressing the trees’ leaves during a warm summer storm.

As long as she allowed him, he would have bathed in her light.

The moment their eyes met he felt destiny had been set in motion and there would have been no going back.

Shining like the star she was, she beckoned him to come closer, an invitation to share, be it for a fleeting moment, the warmth of what could have been.

Of what could still be if he was brave enough to pursue it.

A spell he could not resist, and a part of him did not want to.

He took her hand in his, letting her smile seep into him, allowing himself, for that night alone, to be happy, not caring nor thinking about anything but that moment.

He let her guide him in a frenetic dance, enraptured by the carefree happiness of the festival, switching position at every turn giving him a better view of each facet of her.

The music gets louder in time with his heartbeats as they spin around faster, in a frenzy of motion that leaves no space to think, to breath, to see, anything but her.

To think a yaksha would have been enchanted by a yōsei was laughable in itself but he didn’t care if this was what happiness felt like that so be it.

He would have done everything he could have to stay with her, and even though he knew it was forbidden and maybe wrong, all that mattered to him was getting to know her better, doing his best to protect her all the same.

A contradiction he would have done his best to resolve.

In an instant their gazes met and held, tourmaline meeting chartreuse glimmering with the same warm light of the lanterns and something dangerously akin to curiosity that set his heart ablaze.

Their lips were close, Oh so close it could have been sinful.

And in a way it was.

Ever gallant he pulled back bowing to her as she did the same, reluctant to step back from the sun, he bought himself time taking her hand in his only to leave a gentlemanly kiss on its back, revelling, for a minute longer, in the adorable rosy blush that spread on her fairy cheeks, already reddened from the dance so much to resemble a strawberry, one he wouldn’t have minded kissing to savour its sweetness.

“I hope we will meet again.”

“Me too.”

Her voice sweet as a persimmon and as much as refreshing to his heart, accompanied him all the way back to their inn.

Upon their return to Sakai her memory was all but vanished from his mind, more determined than ever he went to work to find more about that peculiar westerner girl that awakened his every sense as nothing ever did, a strange sensation, but not unwanted, spread in his heart as he greeted the morning with a smile.

google doesnt give a shit what you're trying to search any more. it's like "I didnt bother using half of your search terms but here's pinterest and wikihow. enjoy"

edit: everyone who has yet to experience google straight up ignoring boolean operators who are smugly acting like I don't use them or even know what they are, can you please deactivate and stop clogging up my activity

at this time using verbatim search (option under the search bar within "tools" in the drop down that says "all results" by default) seems to be the fix to make it actually process queries correctly but let's see how long google maintains it as an option.

I've actually used the prompt I chose for the 200 follower challenge for this one as it seemed to fit in really well, I hope that's ok!

As it turns out, I'm incapable of writing anything short, so this has ended up in three parts.

Warnings: angst, fluff, spoilers for Finan's past (mainly in Part 3), Finan's undeserving complex, Uhtred playing relationship councilor 😂

It was a warm spring afternoon, the fresh breeze carried a sweet scent of freshly budding flowers.

The people of Rumcofa were content, a buzz of excitement hummed through the town as preparations for the upcoming Beltane Festival were underway.

That evening, there was to be two large bonfires, cattle herds would be driven between the two fires in the hopes of purifying them and increasing their fertility for the farming season.  Later, couples would dance around the flames, new courtships or marriages would be announced, and a huge feast would be held to honour the gods.

The women of the town, both pagan and saxon alike, were gathered together, picking flowers to braid into each other's hair, or making flower crowns.  Gossip was exchanged, making bets on which young people would make the best matches and hoping for a fruitful year.

This was where Uhtred found his sister, settled slightly apart from the other women outside his hall, making a flower crown of her own.  

He watched her for a moment, she had yet to notice him, her gaze fixed solely on the half-finished headpiece in her hands.  Her brow furrowed in concentration, the same way it did back when she was trying to perfect her letters when they were children.  Her lips pursed when a particular flower stem refused to sit exactly where she wanted to place it.  A sigh of frustration escaped her as she lightly threw the crown onto the table in front of her in defeat.  At least for the time being.

It was then that she looked up, her eyes lighting slightly when she caught sight of her brother.

"Uhtred!  What are you doing here?  I thought you would be with the other men preparing the bonfires?"  She stretched, her neck sore from hunching over for so long.

"I was actually looking for you" He told her, taking a seat in the chair next to her.

"Oh?  And to what do I owe the privilege?" She teased, but Uhtred could tell her heart wasn't in it, her smile didn't quite reach her eyes; She looked tired.  He wondered if had anything to do with what he wanted to ask her.

"It is Finan.  He has seemed withdrawn these past few days.  I wondered if you knew why he is in such a foul mood?"

She bit at her bottom lip, looking away from him as she sighed through her nose.

"I don't know, maybe you should try asking him."  She mumbled quietly.

"Have you two had a disagreement?"  He furrowed his eyebrows. 

"Not exactly…"

Uhtred leaned forward, trying to catch Ethy's gaze. "Well, what then?  There's clearly something bothering the both of you."

"Uhtred please-" She groaned.

"Ethy, you are my sister and Finan is my best friend, I cannot let whatever this is continue when the pair of you are miserable."

"We are not miserable!  We have had a very minor misunderstanding, that is all!  When will you learn to mind your own business?"  She cried, exasperated with her brother.

"I will learn to mind my own business when you learn to accept help from those who care about you."  He retorted.
