Can’t say I’ve ever really heard a song that was SO fitting for a character that I needed to say it was theirs before. With that being said,, Evan Buckley OWNS “what do you want” by Benson Boone

Note
Natalia touched the walls, Hewn's beasts almost stirred. She dropped it, that softness sniffing out. Viren's family had happily sat here while hers had run. Where had they been when she and her sister had been on the run?
She turned from the walls, not bothering to move as Viren strode toward them. He held his hand out, the darkness pulling back to reveal her mother's ring. She took it, slipping on her finger and turning away. Viren swallowed, his voice strained as he called after her.
"We never forgot, my mother held a vigil for her every night. If we had known Natalia -"
She gripped Aleksander's hand, her rage pulling the shadows closer. She turned to him, her teeth barred. She couldn't be like them, all courty manners. She was too wild for it, too much Valg in her skin to want to wear her power so hidden. The Valg reveled in their power, and so would she.
"What good are vigils when two girls were orphaned and left to fend for themselves Viren?"
"My home burned to the ground. It is a pile of rubble where my mother and father's bones are. My home is the place my mother faded clutching my father's body giving no thought to the children she was about to orphan. I want no home that reminds me of her weaknesses."
He flinched and dropped his hand, he looked to Aleksander. His mouth twitched and Natalia silently dared him to speak to her son. She just needed one excuse to cut into him, to bleed from him everything he wore that didn't belong to him.
He sighed and shook his head. He looked back to her, his face open, hopeful. It disgusted her.
'You're always welcome here. All - all of you are Welcome home when -"
She turned tugging her boy with her, her
posture and voice softened, just a little.
"Come Alexie...you can wave goodbye if you wish."
Viren brightened smiling at the boy in hope.
The wave was half hearted, the boy's hand tightened around his mother's as he moved closer to her side. There was a lack of boy-like wonder, of wanting to learn about his mother's family and place that was meant to be their home.
Even if they had been closer when they were younger, had friendships until the realities of life caught up with them, she had not expected this. For the ugly under belly to arise and the secrets to start raising their heads, for the truth of Night's royal family.
Sarai stepped out of the shadows to join Viren's side, as much as everyone thought she was the bleeding heart, he was much more than she was. He just hid it to protect himself, he hid it because people would use it against him.
She watched Natalia and her boy move away, her hand reached out to take a hold of Viren's. Grounding, supportive. "You did the right thing," she told him softly. "You done what should have been done years ago."

Always
Tumblr media
All it takes is one glance
You and Natalia have been together for years even before you both have been forced to join the Red room, you both were childhood best friends and did everything to survive that hell hole that the both of you were thrown into.
“Will you stay by my side until I fall asleep Y/N?” a small voice if Natalia filled your ears, you just smiled at her
“Always Natalia”
You both grew up together learning to kill people breaking your body with training and shattering your innocent minds but you had each other.
She was your hope, your light in the dark so you had to be strong for her.
Natalia was crying in your arms after a test was conducted each and every one of you had to kill some targets with their family to test our emphathy, Natasha have a soft heart and being force to kill made her hate herself but you were there for here shielding her with thoughts that would break her.
“I killed them Y/N, their child was-… she was to young” she cried as you comforted her rubbing her back with your hands
“It’s not your fault Natalia, you had to do it” you reasoned her as she continued to cry
“will you stay with me even I became a monster Y/N?” she sniffled as her forest green piercing eyes connected to yours, you just smiled at her
“Always Iyubov’ always” you assured her wiping her tears and kissing her forehead.
.
.
.
You and Natalia or Natasha a name she wanted to be called now were together just before both of you graduated from the Red room and was one of the best assassins of the organization, they knew about you and Natasha’s relationship after you both graduated but never interfere as both of you did your jobs splendidly taking their attention away from your relationship not wanting one of you killed as it would take years before someone can be good as you both to be replaced, she had you when she was sent to her first mission until you adjusted in the circumstance you were in and accepted it as it give you both a bit of freedom to be together and sometimes do things you wanted as long as you do your missions right, but all of that change when Natasha got an offer to join SHEILD, Natasha being her she did not let it pass as she reached her hands to you inviting you to join her.
“Y/N we can change our lives there… we don’t have to kill people just because they want to, we can change the world there” you were a bit shocked to what had Natasha said to you as you had taking a liking on the life you were in.
“Will you stay with me even I betray my country?”  she was nervous… you can hear it in her voice as you accepted her hand as you always do and kissing the back of it which made her smile widely.
“Always IIyubov” she squeaked and throw herself to you caging you in a tightly hug and kissing you endlessly
“ya Iyublyu vas Y/N”
“ya Iyublyu vas Tasha”.
.
.
.
The SHEILD was no different to the red room that you and Natasha left back in Russia except that SHEILD treated you more nicely and have less missions. Natasha hated killing back then so you talked to Fury to never give Natasha assassinations unless necessary in exchange you will take the missions and do the dirty work for him which he gladly agreed and was kept secret between you both.
“baby I want you to meet Barton, Barton this is my girlfriend Y/N” Natasha was beaming as she introduced you to her friend, an agent she had gotten close from missions that she was dying for you to meet.
He smiled a bit as he offers his hand to you which you gladly took and send him a warm smile thinking how lucky this Barton to be a friend of Natasha.
“it’s nice to finally but a picture to the woman Natasha has been telling me all the time” you smirked and catch a glance at the blushing red head as she elbowed Barton at his side earning us a groan from him
“well Tasha never really shut up about having a friend like you either” Natasha being her sent you a death glare as both you and Barton laugh at the antics of the green eyed ex-assassin.
And that started a beautiful friendship, You, Barton and Natasha were inseparable. Clint took you and Natasha back to his home where his family lived introducing you to his wife Laura and his kids.
Everything was perfect, Natasha and you having dates around New York, taking undercover missions as a couple, watching movies you missed during the training back in red room, constantly telling each other how much you love them and having to spend Christmas with Barton’s family.
Everything WAS perfect
That change because of that one mission…
The mission to retrieve Dr. Banner or the Hulk.
.
.
.
“You good Y/N?” you heard Clint asking you as you stop punching the sand bag
“Yeah… why?” taking a towel and wiping off the sweat on your face to look more presentable in front of your friend
“Why are you not part of the Avenger?” he bluntly questions you
You knew this is going to be a hard pill to swallow for Clint and Natasha of you not being part of the team, only you and Fury knows about the deal of you being the assassin of the SHIELD you did some missions with them but you were very discrete with your kills that Barton and Natasha didn’t even notice this so they thought you were doing similar mission like them.
You weren’t put on the Team because the team saves people from harm while you kill people so they won’t do harm. They were the symbol of peace while you lurk in the dark to aid the peace they wanted.
You just laugh at Clint patting his shoulder
“I’m leading a different team Barton, I may not be an Avenger but we only have one goal”
He was silent for a bit before speaking again
“Are you spending enough time with Natasha these days?” you knew where this is going as you shrugged
“we’ve both been busy, after what happened at New York our team’s missions have been piling up and so was yours” you answered
“Y/N it’s not that I want to mendle to you and Natasha’s relationship but… you really need to look after her and Banner… they’ve been far too cosy to each other” he told you as his voice was full of remorse
You knew about this, about her and Banner’s… closeness
You asked her about this the other time but she just brush it off saying that there just friends.
You didn’t want to point it out again because you trust her… but you just can’t get this feeling that there was more to their friendship, and you really can’t blame her that.
“I know” you whispered to him as silence filled the gym
.
.
.
You were given by Fury a week off from missions which you rejoiced, this was your time to be with Natasha and do something together.
You got off of the floor where the common room of her team is as you saw her by the chair chatting with Clint.
“hey Tasha, Barton” Natasha and Clint smiled at you as you gave Natasha a hug burring your head on her neck making her giggle as Barton rolled his eyes at you.
“Fancy seeing you here Y/N” Clint said faking a british accent as you punched his shoulder murmuring ‘shut up’. You turned to Natasha
“Wanna get dinner later? My treat” you smiled brightly at her remembering the restaurant Maria suggested to go.
“I’m sorry Y/N, I promised Bruce to have dinner with him, how about tomorrow? Sounds good?” you saw Clint raised his left eyebrow as you felt a small pinch at your heart as you only smiled at her not wanting to alarm her.
“Sure, I’ll pick up tomorrow at 6 then” she kissed you on your cheeks thanking you for understanding as she soon got a call from Bruce wanting some help in the lab bidding you and Clint a goodbye before leaving.
You just sighted, you were looking forward to this dinner grabbing a help from Tony to have reservation in that restaurant since it only cater powerful people and Tony was one of them, you look at Clint as he gave you the ‘I told you so’ look
“so… wanna grab dinner Barton?” he cheekly smiled
“I thought you’d never ask”
When you met him at the exit of the building he also invited Maria and Dr. Cho who is wearing formal dresses as you and Barton wore some suit which made feel a bit better, after dinner Maria and Clint dragged you and Dr. Cho from bar to bar enjoying the break you had as they filled your night with fun taking your thoughts off of Natasha.
.
.
.
You were invited by Tony to attend his party, you wanted to decline but Clint, Maria and Dr. Cho forced you to come telling to relax for a while and from the moment you stepped in Banner and Natasha have been lost on their own world together.
You watch as Clint, Tony, Rhodey, Banner and Steve trying to pull Thor’s hammer from the glass table as you sat silently beside Natasha who was in a very ‘interesting’ conversation with Banner as you kept drinking the bottle of beer that was filled with vodka chugging it down to your throat just wanting to disappear in this room.
You felt a hand on your shoulder as you turned around seeing it was Dr. Cho as she gently pulled you up from your seat to Maria and Clint’s side making you breathed a bit more comfortable as she sat next to you giving her a kind smile
“Thanks” you whispered
“your welcome” she replied and continued to watch Steve as he pulled the hammer earning a squeak but again didn’t budge.
You felt Maria leaned on your legs as she sat down taking the bottle of beer full of vodka on your hands as she smelt it and immediately gave you a side eye as you murmured a quick “Sorry”
The fun was stopped when a broken robot walked in limping and all you know was there are robots trying to kill all of you.
You jumping to action wanting to run to Natasha to protect her but you saw her running with Banner…
You were jealous of it but Dr. Cho being closer to you, you pulled her away from the chaos as a robot shot the both of you, you hid her behind a large post
“Stay here” you told her as you pulled a gun from your side and started shooting the robot as it falls to the ground and took it’s head off as Thor finished the last one.
.
.
.
Another problem arises for the Avengers as you barely saw Natasha for a few weeks as you put yourself up from mission to mission not wanting to think about her as all you saw was her and Banner’s face laughing.
“The wall will melt if you kept staring at it you know” you were cut off on your daze by Maria as she sat beside the bed that you are now laying on in the Medical bay, Natasha had been notified about this as you tried to stop them but she never came to look for you.
“How bad was it?” Maria asked seeing your torso wrapped with bandages
“enough to keep me away from missions for two weeks” you sigh not really liking the idea of being coped up in a place that kept reminding you about the circumstance that you were in
“I think I know what have been running through your mind lately… it’s about Bruce and agent Romanoff is it?” the silence of you was taken by Maria as an answer as she looked at you in pity.
And you broke as tears run past you face just staring at nothingness, crying was a foreign thing for you, you never cried when you almost died or taken by the Red room, you never cry when you had your first kill.
But right now… the tears keep streaming down your eyes was you tried your best to stop it, you felt Maria stood and wrap her arms around your shoulder pushing your head on her chest as your tears wouldn’t stop.
“I-I don’t know what to do Maria…” your broken voice hurts Maria in many different ways, out of all the people she met you were one of the most calm person she encountered, and most importantly you are her friend…
It hurts her seeing you cry, it’s her first time seeing you being vule like this.
“just let it all out Y/N”
And you did.
.
.
.
You stood there outside of room Natasha was in wanting to see her as their mission failed and now laying low at Barton’s house but you stood there frozen from the scene of her and Banner holding each other.
You rushed out of your mission when you heard about what happened to them as Clint told you that Natasha was injured and all shaken up with the enhance girl putting things in their mind, you dropped everything and just want to be with the red head but what greeted you is this.
You clench your hands so hard not wanting to break here when you felt someone hugged your leg
“Aunt Y/N” Lila said as you gave her a forced smile picking her up from the ground
“where’s your mom hmm?” you asked her sweetly as she points out to the kitchen as you tickled her sending her in full giggles walking to the kitchen and seeing a very pregnant Laura cooking
Putting Lila down and greeting Laura as she turned to you
“Y/N! oh god I missed you!” you chuckled as she gave you a hug which you return
“Missed you too Laura” you broke the hug
“so did you meet Nat?” you just shrug at her wanting to change the topic so you stared at her big belly
“you look big Lau” she smacked your arm as you both laugh
“I know Lila has been telling me that, why don’t you go sit I’ll make some food” you decline as you picked up some ingredient and started cutting it.
“Nah I’ll be helping you out, we don’t want you getting to worked up”
After you finished cooking you left some supplies for them and sneakily left the Barton’s house not wanting to alarm the team as you linger around the perimeter checking for some anomalies before completely leaving for another mission Fury assigned.
.
.
.
“p-please don’t kill me I’ll do anything!”
Your phone rang as you were in the middle of killing one of the many leader of Hydra as he sat on the ground begging for his life
You quickly answered it as Clint’s voice filled your ear
“Y/N, Nat has been taken” your face harden as anger builds inside you
“What?! “
“Ultron took her”
“I’m on my way”
You ended the call and shooting the man on his head 3 times before heading out
All you though that time was to find Natasha.
.
.
.
You just stood there behind Clint in silent not wanting to lash out in anger and worry about Natasha, there are two new people in the group Pietro and Wanda… you thought they were too young for this, barely even living normal live and was thrown in to this mess… you pitied them as you pitied yourself.
Vision gave Thor his hammer which surprised everyone. Thor took the hammer as Vision left everyone speechless.
“right… well done” Thor patted Tony’s shoulder before leaving
“three minutes, get what you need” Steve said as all of us left packing things they’ll be needing.
You took some guns, daggers and things you needed as you held the locket Natasha gave you after you both graduated from the Red room… it has the first picture of you both smiling as you held a bit more freedom back then.
All you every though is
Bring back Natasha, bring back your love.
You remembered what Natasha used to say to you ‘will you stay by my side?’
“Always” you voiced out kissing the locket placing it back on your neck near your heart.
.
.
.
You were tasked to save Natasha with Banner and evacuated her, you lurked behind Banner as you both navigated your way to Natasha’s cage, you stood at the dark as you pulled your dagger out of the robot beheading it just be sure, turning around seeing Bruce has set Natasha free and again lost between their world.
You want to shout at them wanting your presence to be known rage boiled up inside you and everything stopped when she kissed him… your heart ached, it’s like someone was crushing your heart as all you want is to scream.
You silently left not wanting to see more of them as the picture of them kissing filled your head.
As you got outside you saw robots coming everywhere, you held on your gun and dagger tighter as civilians passed you, you swiftly yanked a robot’s head that was sticking out on the ground and all you saw was red…
You kicked a head of a robot you just beheaded as tons of them was laying beneath your feet, you have gashes littering your body but you didn’t feel any tiredness or soreness only rage and betrayal.
“Y/N?” you froze when you heard the familiar voice of the woman you love, you didn’t want to turn around to see her face as it only reminds you that you were never hers anymore but you can never deny her.
You turn around facing her as your eyes held emptiness, she looked a bit worried as she took a step closer to you avoiding the metal bodies as you held your gun pointing at her and she stopped
“Y/N what are you doi-“ her words cut off when you fired the gun hitting the robot that was flying behind her.
You heard Tony saying stuff at your earpiece wanting all of you at the core as you saw Natasha’s hand holding it out on you
“stay with me?” your anger and rage melted at her words as it brought you back the memories of the past as you took her hand
“always”
.
.
.
“Together” Tony said as Natasha held your hands tighter as you squeeze it reassuring her
And that, all hell broke loose.
You kept killing robots after robots so was everyone keeping them away from the core, you saw a robot going to Natasha’s back, you pulled it’s head snapping its neck.
“I’ll protect it” Wanda said as you, Natasha and Clint rode a car towards where the evacuation is
“get your asses on the boat” Natasha said as all of you got out of the car
“where are you going?” you asked her
“I have to get the big guy” ah… Banner you saw her run to the side as you stood there as you felt Clint held your shoulder
“hey… lets go now” you just nodded following him
Bullets rained down as everyone took cover, Clint on the other hand pulled a child while you were beside him taking cover as you saw Pietro running to shield him…
You pushed your body forward as you reached Pietro’s left side but not enough to cover him from the other shots
You felt bullets broke out of your skin while you saw Pietro took 3, two on his arm and one on his right leg,
he’ll be alright with that…
you thought as your body weaken after taking one on your right shoulder on the right side of your stomach and on your arm.
You held your ground as you put pressure at the shot by your stomach as it bleeds out badly
“you good kid?” you ask Pietro as he nods limping
“Y/N!” you heard Clint shouted as Steve drag you and Pietro to the ship
Your ears were ringing badly as Clint tried to stop the bleeding
“Barton… I badly need a nap right now…” you whispered as blood ran down your lips
“Y/N hey don’t you dare sleep, We need a medic! Agent Y/N is down!” you heard Clint’s voice as you saw Pietro at the side sitting as he looked at you with apologetic eyes as you gave him a reassuring smile.
You saw small dark dots as you kept your eyes open not wanting Clint screaming at you but then you were swallowed by darkness.
Clint run to the helicarrier towards the medical bay with you on his arm limping with Steve behind him holding Pietro
“MOVE!!” he shouted as he reached the med bay placing you on one of the bed as Dr. Cho did her best to keep you alive,
Clint was thrown out of the room as they waited outside patiently
“We’re losing her! Get the defibrillator!”
.
.
“Im gonna go and see Pietro” Steve announced as Clint just nodded as he sat beside the bed you lay on, as much as Clint hated the beeping sound from the machines that was hooked up from you it is the only reminder for him of you being alive.
Maria already passed by but Natasha was nowhere to be seen, Maria told Clint that she was busy finding Banner who is now in the quinjet in stealth mode and that made them angry.
Her girlfriend is lying here barely even alive but she kept searching for that guy.
.
.
.
“Thank you for saving me Y/N” Pietro’s heavy accent filled the room you were in
“you still have a lot of things to accomplish kid, and stop thanking me already” you took a bite off of your sandwich which Wanda made for you
“Your sandwich really hits the spot Wanda thanks” you smiled at the witch
“your welcome Y/N, I’ll bring some more tomorrow if you want” she smiled warmly
“that would be great”
A knock on the door and a red head popped on it
“well that’s our cue, come Pietro” Wanda pulled Pietro out of the room as Natasha walked in locking the room.
 “Y/N” she called you
“Natasha” you acknowledge her
 “how are you?...”
“getting better now”
And a loud noise of silence embraced you both, you took a deep breath looking at the large glass with the green view outside
“I know…” you broke the silence as her head whip to look at you
“What-“ you cut her off
“I know about you and Banner…” you told her bluntly and straight forward
“Y/N… im sorry…”
You gave her a smile cupping her face as tears started to stream down her face
“It’s alright IIyubov… I really can’t blame you if you fall in love with him…” God… it’s been forever since you last called her that
You wipe off her tears as she kept saying how sorry she was as you hugged her tightly as if it was the last time you will do.
“Does he make you happy Tasha?” you asked her as she stayed silent for a while before nodding, your heart ached as it was like being stumped
“Do you love him?” you felt a nod as you closed your eyes tightly not wanting your tears to run by your face. Natasha was all you had left, your reason for everything, all you want is to protect her and keep her safe and make her happy.
And if she’s happy with him… even it hurts… you would gladly let her go
“Be with him…” Natasha froze in your embrace as her green eyes found yours
“All I wanted for you is to you to be happy Natalia… if being with him felt right then I would gladly let you go” at that moment you saw flashes of you and Natasha from the first time you met, to her being scared, the time you confessed your feeling, to your first kiss, the day you held each other as if non in the world matters, to your graduation in Red room, both of you joining SHIELD, celebrating Christmas with the Barton’s and to her lingering laughs and giggles telling you how much she loved you…
Your eyes were watery, Natasha was shocked by the words coming out of your mouth, it is her first time since you were kids seeing you this… broken… and she hated herself for she was the reason her Y/N was this. You’re her hero, her guardian, her shield you followed her everywhere around the globe happily as you were her sun.
A tear slipped from your eyes as you smiled painfully to the woman you love, to the woman you thought you would end up forever… to your home… With all the courage you spoke
“ya Iyublyu vas Natalia, Always and forever” kissing her forehead
as painful as it is, she can’t move forward with a part of her past lingering around her… You…
Breaking the embraced you were with her, taking a step back as you smiled at her as she stayed silent watching you
whispering your last words to her
“goodbye Natalia”
You walk off the room closing the door behind you with heavy heart. You are happy that she’s now making her own choices… not being tied down with anything and having control to her life, you are proud of her even that choice she made hurts you.
It breaks you to let her go but
Natasha finally found her family in Avenger
As you lost yours.

Sway ~ Part 3
Tumblr media
Javier Pena x female!OC
Word count: 3.493
Summary:  After their training Javier meets Natalia In a very unexpected place and things het a little heated.
Warnings: language, badly written stripteas (2x), mentions of guns, slightly drunk Javi
A/N: I wanna thank @pedrocentric for being the absolute best and a great cheerleder :D
English is not my first language and I have no one to beta for me. That is just a very long way to say: sorry, my English sucks.
Part 1//Part 2//
They met at least once a week for a month, and they didn’t talk much during the sessions. Mostly because of the headsets, but she also seemed less talkative. He didn’t know if it was because of the night in her kitchen, or it was something else completely, but he was glad she was putting some distance between them.
He himself almost didn’t call her back. There was just something about her that felt like trouble, and he wasn’t sure if he wanted to find out what the trouble would turn out to be. Then again, he was a grown ass man with some common sense. He knew he was on thin ice, but he would just have to tiptoe his way along the shallow ends.
It was much easier than he expected. She was not trying to find out anything about him. One time she asked him about growing up in Texas, and he thought that’s where he’d have to hit the brakes, but after he told her some general information about his childhood in the US, she didn’t ask any follow up questions.
Despite the lack of talking, they got comfortable around each other. He wasn’t sure when it happened, but somewhere between him showing her a proper grip on a gun and adjusting her stance when she couldn’t hit what she wanted, he stopped second-guessing himself every time he had to touch her.
After the third time, she even started bringing him coffee. He mentioned how much he liked the coffee she made him that one time and the next time he saw her, she silently handed him a big bright blue cup. She obviously didn’t want it to be a big deal, so he said his thank yous and didn’t mention it again, but he learned not to have his late night work coffees every time they were scheduled to meet.
Point being, the last session couldn’t come soon enough.
“You know, Pena,” she said and turned down the car radio, so he could hear her. “I had fun with you.”
It was an innocent enough statement, but it sounded like she was genuinely surprised to have a good time with him around. And there he was, thinking that despite the teasing and overall unfortunate circumstances of their meeting, she enjoyed his company.
What he didn’t expect, was the sudden void of calmness in his life. Which was ironic, because she was anything but. The thing was, neither of them outright said their goodbyes, but he knew, after she called him about her successful test, that was the end between them. And it’s what he wanted. After all, there was no beginning to anything, but, for some reason, he thought it would be harder to get her out of his life, that even if she was not interested in it, she’d wanna be a part of it.
It didn’t matter. She was out, and he felt steadier on his legs because of it.
                                             ----- 3 months later -----
Javier looked around the room, wondering why the fuck he agreed to come and why would they even invite him in the first place. It wasn’t a secret that most of his coworkers thought he was a grade-A asshole, so why invite him to a stag party? He had a suspicion it had something to do with Murphy.
“Stop sulking.” Steve dangled a bottle of beer in front of his face and Javier caught it, bringing it to his lips. “It’s not so bad.”
“I guess.”
The alcohol was practically free since everyone chipped in and no one really paid him much attention. Still, it was kinda boring. He expected to go out into a bar or something, not spend the whole night stuck in someone’s apartment with a bunch of men. Some of them already drunk enough to even stand in one spot without tripping over their own feet.
“Lightweights,” Steve smirked, clinking his bottle against Javier’s.
As time went by, Javier noticed more and more people came to talk with him and Steve. The conversation went from polite chit-chat to, of course, sex and everyone seemed to be interested in Javier’s escapades. He didn’t realize how much gossip there was about him and the women he slept with, but he successfully dodged all the questions without telling anyone to go fuck themselves. As drunk as he was, that was quite an accomplishment. Seeing as he was not about to give up his secrets, they thankfully moved on to brag about their own prowess.
“They are here!” The groom’s best man yelled as he came into the room. Both Steve and Javier looked at each other, brows raised in question, as the men around them stood up and stared at the door excitedly.
Before he could ask what was happening, two huge men came into the room with a group of scarcely clothed women waiting just outside the door. Javier could see Steve close his eyes in defeat as he realized what was going on. “Connie is gonna kill me.”
“You are gonna be fine,” Javier absentmindedly comforted him, trying to see past the men. He didn’t really have the mind to pay him his full attention. Not with the swarm of emotions, he felt every time one of the men moved, and he thought he could see her. He barely listened as the bodyguards explained all the rules they had to follow.
That would be too much of a coincidence, right? Natalia showing up the one time he decided to hang out with someone from his office… there was no chance. There couldn’t be.
-----
She hated doing house calls. The men always felt more entitled when they were comfortable, which meant more trouble. Not just for her, but mostly for Felipe and Antonio, who had to deal with the customers. Thankfully, with the money she made for the club she didn’t have to go out unless absolutely necessary. Like when someone asked for her by name and had the right amount of cash, or when one of the girls broke her leg…
Natalia walked into the dimly lit room with the other girls. A sweet smile plastered on her face as some men circled her and started talking over each other. She didn’t understand any one of them, but they all seemed determined to get her to dance for them.
“I’m flattered, gentlemen, but my priority is the man of the hour,” she pouted and batted her eyelashes at them. They all groaned, but the man who greeted them at the door shushed the whole room and told them to sit down.
Natalia noticed a chair in the middle of a circle where everyone else was sitting. Turning her back to the room, she took a few deep breaths to calm herself down. Even after so many years, she was still nervous performing in such an intimate setting.
She heard some more rustling and when everyone quieted down, one of the girls put on the songs.
Hearing the first notes of Marvin Gaye’s Sexual Healing, she turned around. Her eyes immediately falling on the groom, who seemed both excited and nervous and couldn’t stop moving on his chair.
She let her hand slide up her thighs, and over the white see-through mini dress, to her hips. Revealing just enough of the white thong underneath, to make the whole room groan as she released the material to cover herself again. She continued on her path along her sides and to her breasts. She squeezed them together, her back arching and turning into a roll of her hips.
Natalia walked slowly to the center of the room rocking her hips to the rhythm, her eyes not leaving the groom’s. She traced his jaw with her fingers as she walked behind him, pressing her breasts into his back and letting her hands fall down his chest to his thighs and back up into his hair and making him look over his shoulder at her. She threw her leg over his shoulder, letting his head rest on her lower stomach as she swirled her hips.
Natalia walked back into his line of vision and bent down to put both hands onto his thighs, covering his own, and making sure she arched her back to let the bottom of her ass peek out from under the dress. Lowering herself even more, she breathed over his clothed crotch and then rolled her body until she was face to face with him. She smiled sweetly at him, taking his hand and guiding it to the strings between her breasts that kept the dress tight around her shoulders. She winked at him as he tugged at them and stood up.
With a perfected swirl of her hips and roll of shoulders, the dress fell off her body and pooled around her feet. She kicked it to the side without giving it a look and turned around. Leaving her only in her thong and bra, she bent at the waist, circling her hips in his face before sitting down on his lap. Her hands on his ankles, dragging them up his legs as she straightened and pressed her back to his chest, grinding against him. With one hand around his neck, she took the other one and guided it from her neck down between her breasts and to her panties where she let it fall to his side again.
Arching her back off of him, she pressed her ass into his crotch and could feel him harden under her. It happened more often than not, and she was used to it but was glad the song was coming to the end nonetheless.
Natalia turned to face him with both knees on either side of him, rolling her hips against his chest before sitting across his lap and pushing his head in between her breast for just a second. As the song ended she laid down on his legs with one leg on the ground and the other one in the air, a straight line with her body, and her head dangling over his legs.
She heard whistling and clapping as she opened her eyes.
Javier was tilting his head as he looked down at her, a sharp smile on his lips and her dress in his hand. It took her a few seconds to realize she was still laying on the poor man with all her weight and quickly stood up. Trying not to appear as shocked as she felt when she kissed the groom’s cheek. She took a little awkward bow, while different song started to play and the rest of the girls started paying attention to the men there.
Natalia turned to Javier, who was now standing right by her side and handing her her dress. “Thank you,” she croaked as she took the dress from him.
“Didn’t expect you here, but I’m not gonna pretend it’s not good to see you.” He looked appreciatively down her body, licking his lips.
She knew he had to be drunk. She couldn’t imagine he’d look at her like that otherwise. “I--I need to-- need to change,” she stuttered, still unable to properly grasp what was happening.
“But you will come back right?” he asked, gazing into her eyes so intensely she wouldn’t be able to say no even if someone held a gun to her head. She nodded in response and walked out of the room and to the hallway. The bright lights there making her close her eyes as she tried to remember where the room with their things was.
First, she opened a door to a bathroom, but the second door was a bedroom with her bag. Grabbing it, she walked back to the bathroom and locked the door behind her.
Seeing Pena so drunk and leering at her like she was a 5 course meal was somehow hilarious to her. She knew that the month they spent together, he was trying so hard to keep her at an arm’s length. Never looking at her too long, never speaking more than necessary, but she didn’t mind. She simply adapted to his behavior and implemented simple don’t ask rule. It never occurred to her that maybe he was attracted to her, until then.
She took off the white underwear and put on a pink number she packed. Natalia reapplied some make up and put on a little more perfume before throwing everything in the bag. She walked back to the bedroom, leaving the back by the bed, and returned to the party.
Right in the door, the best man caught her and started thanking her before putting some cash into her hand. “Thank you so much again,” he patted her hand and went back to his friends. Natalia looked down at the money and was more than surprised by the generous amount he gave her.
She turned to Felipe and gave it to him for safekeeping so she wouldn’t have to go all the way back to the bedroom.
“Took you long enough.” His voice shouldn’t feel as familiar as it did, especially after she hadn’t heard it for months.
“Beauty takes time,” she smiled as she turned to him and noticed he had two glasses of whiskey and handing her one. “I’m working, Pena.”
“Come on, just one, with me.” He tilted his head again, and it was like looking into the eyes of a golden retriever. He had this drunken smile that never seemed to completely disappear.
“Just one,” she agreed and took the glass from him.
“Also, I saw you in your pajamas. You need absolutely no time to look beautiful.”
He’d never say something like that in the right state of mind, so she didn’t put any real weight behind his words. Still, it made her smile at how corny he sounded.
“You don’t have to flirt to get a dance, Javier,” a guy shouted from behind him, making her laugh.
Pena rolled his eyes flipping the guy behind him and turning back to her. “I should go help the girls.” She knocked down the rest of the whiskey and put the glass on a table.
His fingertips touched hers, caressing them with his own. She looked down, her skin tingling like she was touching a live wire and not his hand. They felt rough, calloused, but it only heightened the sensation.
“Give me a dance,” he whispered. Her head snapped to look at him, knots forming in her stomach and she swallowed dryly.
“Javier, I shou--” He squeezed her fingers in his hand, making her jump. It seemed more like a reflex or a twitch because he released her just as quickly, but it still left a warm feeling in the pit of her stomach.
“Just one.” He talked through gritted teeth and the sound made her fight off the shudder she felt coming up her spine.
She could see the hunger in his eyes, the veins on his neck, and his other hand flexing by his side. And selfishly, she wanted to see if she could make him look even more desperate, aching for more. She couldn’t wait to call him the next day and tease him about it.
“Just one,” she repeated after him. Taking his hand she led him to one of the more comfortable looking armchairs and teasingly pushed at his chest to get him to sit down.
She felt as if her whole body was on fire just by the way he was looking at her. His eyes were searing holes into her, his fingers digging into the soft leather of the armrests and his hips shifting impatiently, and she realized that maybe she was out of her depth.
She couldn’t back out now, even if she knew that would be the better choice for both of them, but then... It felt like she’d lose, like she cared more than he did and that was not something she was willing to accept. No matter the consequences.
Natalia took one deep breath before moving her hips to the Bon Jovi’s song that started playing. Letting the rhythm take over her upper body, she stuck out her breast with her hands in her hair.
She watched as his eyes followed them down the side of her neck and her breasts.
With a whip of her hair, she turned her back to him, bending at the waist and relaxing her knees so she could easily rock her hips as her hands moved up her legs and to the back of her thighs to slap her ass.
She wished she could see his face because from between her legs she could see one of his legs twitch and almost kick up as if he banged it against something. It encouraged her enough to sit on his knees and wiggle until he parted them so she could sit between them. Resting her shoulders against his chest, feeling his heart beating rapidly, she sneaked her hand to the back of his neck and into his hair. She tugged at it at the same time she looked up at him, and she swore she could feel the groan that escaped him vibrate through her. She would never do that with a normal customer, but she felt the boundaries here were a little blurred.
His eyes were open wide like he was scared to miss even a second of her writhing body between his legs. She tugged again and could feel him suck in a deep breath, but, finally, he looked into her eyes. They were blown, pitch black, desperate. It made her feel so good.
She slowly slithered down his body, on her knees and turning to face him, not caring that she’d probably have a bruise. Looking up at him from between her legs she rested her hands on his knees and sliding them up his thighs, with her thumbs pressing to the inside of them and stopping only inches from his crotch, where an impressive bulge was beginning to form.
He looked from her hands and at her, watching her lick her lips. She could see his hips buck at her simple gesture, which in turn, made her cunt clench around nothing.
Not wasting any time, she hiked her knee up on the armchair and literally climbed on top of him, making him chuckle. Natalia lowered herself enough to feel the heat between their bodies, but not enough to touch. She could feel the muscles in her thighs and knew that she’d curse herself tomorrow. But looking down at him, God, it was so worth it.
He looked down between them as she moved her hips just inches above his hard cock. She was so tempted to sit down and feel it, get some relief for herself, but she saw how tense he was, how hard it was for him just to sit there and take it, and it was way too exciting to give in.
Javier seemed more impatient than her, and she felt his hand move from the armrest to her shoulder, his fingers tracing invisible patterns down her back.
“No touching,” she whispered into his ear teasingly.
He turned his head to look at her, their noses touching, breathing each other in before he spoke. “Come home with me.”
Natalia stopped moving, her breath caught in her throat, and searching his eyes for any indication he was joking, but he seemed dead serious. His eyes were almost pitch black pools of hunger, sucking her into their depths. It was almost hypnotizing.
She made herself smile like it was all a big joke, but it somehow made the whole situation more serious than she anticipated.
“You are drunk.” She started moving again, looking away from him.
“No, I’m not.” He buried his hand into her hair, cradling the back of her head and forcing her to lean her forehead against his. “I wanna feel you.” He squeezed her butt cheek in his other hand, making her arch her back and ball the front of his shirt in her hands. “All of you.”
“Javier...,” she sighed, closing her eyes just to escape his intense gaze. She tried to find the right words to say no only to find out she didn’t want to say no.
“I wan-- I need to fuck you,” he continued, making her whimper at the words.
“Javi,” she put one hand on his cheek to make him focus on her, “you are drunk.”
“I’m not as drunk as you think I am, Natalia,” he spoke firmly, but calmly. “I’m just drunk enough to let you know what I want.”
Her resolve slowly crumbled under his words. The cold spot in her panties and the pulsing pressure that was steadily building between her legs decided for her.
“Just a fuck, right?” she raised an eyebrow.
He smiled wickedly at her.
What could go wrong.

Tatiana Barnes
“I’m one of twenty-eight young ballerinas with the Bolshoi. The training is hard but the glory of the Soviet culture and the warmth of my parents… my… parents… make up for… no… No, that’s not right. I’m one of twenty-eight Black Widow agents with the Red Room. The training is hard, but the glory of Soviet supremacy and the warmth of my  parents… all my… parents… makes up for… I can’t tell what’s true anymore.”
Tumblr media
NAME: Tatiana Lea Barnes
AGE: 17
PARENTS: Bucky Barnes and Natasha Romanoff
DOB: September 22, 1999
PLACE OF BIRTH: Moscow, Russia
ORIENTATION: demiromantic bisexual
HOGWARTS HOUSE: Slytherin
FACE-CLAIM: Madison Davenport
MAIN VERSE: post-Black Panther
BIOGRAPHY:
Natalia Romanova was told that Tatiana Lea – her only child born just before Natalia had officially “graduated” from the Red Room and conceived from one of the very few times she was ever with the Winter Soldier – was stillborn.
In reality, and for  many years unbeknownst to anyone who might’ve cared for the girl, the baby was taken, and raised and trained in a Red Room facility, her whole life centered around the idea of preserving the glory of her mother country. The only reason she even retained the name that her mother had chosen for her was because her caregivers didn’t actually care enough to bother coming up with something else. After all, Natalia and Tatiana were never going to meet, so what did it matter?
Except, many years later, the duo did meet.
When Tatiana was twelve, she and the rest of her class were taken to a training session with the Winter Solider. In her eyes, he recognized Natalia’s eyes, and she had the same color of hair as he did. He put the pieces together, and left the training session horrified but helpless to do anything that might help his own daughter escape.
However, three years afterward, he was the one to get away, and in the midst of doing his part to take down HYDRA, he searched for signs of what remained of the Red Room and of the daughter whose name he didn’t even know.
Just outside of Budapest, Hungary, he found her. He all but decimated the base where she had grown up, and as the other girls flew into the wind, Tatiana stayed by his side, her expression strangely unreadable. Afterward, after he had set the base ablaze and convinced Tati to actually come with him, she told him why she hadn’t left along with the other girls.
She already knew of her parentage; her trainers had made sure she had, and they’d been all the harder on her over the years because of it. She didn’t trust her father – didn’t trust anyone– thanks to the way that she’d been raised, and she made that very clear, but maybe, she admitted, she wanted to try. So they moved together into a tiny apartment in Budapest, and for a precious number of days, Tati knew what it was to live in peace.
Until a strange man approached their apartment, and they made the decision to split up – just for now, just until they knew who wanted to get to them.
Except the next thing she heard from her father, he was in Wakanda, and this was a goodbye call for now, and she should find Tony Stark, because he could point her to her mother. Apprehensive and alone, and, frankly, grieving for the father that she had barely gotten to know, she followed his orders, in the end coming to live in the Avengers’ Facility with her mother and the Black Widow’s team, while also making frequent - and secret - trips into Wakanda to “check on” her father and his team of now-protected fugitives.
VERSES:
DAUGHTER OF PERFECTION: the first sixteen years of Tati’s life while she’s living under the Red Room’s training in Budapest, Hungary.
DAUGHTER OF CONFUSION: the few weeks covering the time while she’s with Bucky after TWS.
DAUGHTER OF ISOLATION: When Steve invades Bucky’s apartment in CW causing father and daughter to split up, up to the time when Bucky calls her at the end of CW to say “goodbye for now.”
DAUGHTER OF DESERTION: Starting when Tati shows up at the Avengers’ Facility post-CW.

PART 4: VALLEY OF THE DOLLS
Part 4 of the Electra Heart series is finally here! I’m so sorry it took so long to get this part out.
- M
Pairing: Steve x reader (unrequited), just a tad of Loki x reader and Bucky x reader
Synopsis: In which you understand that the old you is coming to an end and the new you is already built with a hole. Broken from the start but that’s okay. You just knew you weren’t going back to zero. So here’s to your old self’s last hurrah.
Tumblr media
(P.S. This is what Y/N wore to the party.)
__________________________________________
“You want to what?” Natasha questions as she narrows her eyes at you.
“I want to have a party.” You tell her nonchalantly.
“But you hate parties.”
“No, the old Y/N hated parties but fortunately she’s not in at the moment and she’s not taking any calls.” You explain.
“I say let her have one.” You both hear from the corner of the room. You let out a smile at the person. “In fact, I’ll throw one for you.”
“Tony-“ Nat tries to reason before she gets cut off by the man himself.
“Live a little, Natalia! After the stunt she pulled on dear Capsicle, she deserves a real nice treat. I gotta say, I didn’t think you had it in you, kid. I’ve never been prouder.” He tells you as he motions you for a high five, which makes you laugh as you do.
“Please Nat.” You say giving her your best puppy dog eyes and a little pout. She lets out a sigh of defeat.
“Fine.”
You excitedly give her a hug before turning to Tony.
“I want it to be the grandest goodbye party.” You tell him. They both look at you in confusion. “A goodbye to my old self. Her final farewell.”
“Y/N-“ Nat starts but you really didn’t want to hear what she had to think.
“Don’t let me down, Stark.” You say as you cut her off.
“Wouldn’t dream of it, kid.”
In my life I got this far, now I’m ready for the last hurrah.
__________________________________________
“I heard there’s going to be a party held in your honor.”
A voice startles you as you turn to the person who is leaning into the doorway of your room with his arms crossed and a smirk on his face.
“You heard correctly, Loki.” You answer him, not getting up from your spot on your bed. “Will you be joining?”
“Would you like me too?”
“I would like that. However…” You drawl out the word as you get up and move towards him. “I’d much rather prefer you as my date. So what do you say, Loki?”
He smiles at the reminiscent question that had started your previous fun.
“How could I say no to that, darling?”
“You can’t and that’s what I was hoping for.” You explain. “See you then.” You say as you shoo him out of your room with a smile. As you watch him leave, you make eye contact with Steve, who you know was listening in on your conversation from the end of the hallway. You simply wink at him before closing your door.
       Dying like a shooting star.
__________________________________________
“What do you think?” You ask Nat and Wanda as you step out from your bathroom to show them your look for the party. You pose with one of your hands on your hip as you flaunt the shiny pink glitter form-fitting dress with a white faux fur cropped coat.
“You look stunning, Y/N.” Wanda compliments you as Nat agrees with her. You blow both of them a kiss as a sign of appreciation.
“Well, you both better be off. I’ll meet you there, I’m waiting for Loki.” You tell them. They both nod and leave your room to head to the party.
Once they are out, you let out a sigh of relief. You catch a glimpse of yourself from the bathroom mirror in the distance. You flatten out your hair and then move to flatten your dress.
“Pick a personality for free when you feel like nobody.”
“Excellent advice.” You jump from the unexpected interruption.
“You have to stop sneaking up on me, Loki.” You explain with a hand over your heart, trying to calm the rapid beating.
“Maybe you should pay attention to your surroundings.” He taunts. “But aren’t you a sight for sore eyes.”
You smile at his words. “You like?” You ask as you gesture to your outfit.
“Very much, darling.”
“Thank you! Now, let’s get moving. I can’t be late to my own party!” You exclaim as you grab his arm to drag him out of your room.
       Racing down into oblivion.
__________________________________________
“I had hoped you wouldn’t let me down, Stark.” You say as you finally were able to catch the person who made your party possible. “It’s marvelous!” You praise as you take in the beauty of the decorations.
“Did you really doubt me, kid?” He questions.
“Well it wouldn’t be the first time someone let me down.” You say nonchalantly.
Built with a heart, broken from the start.
“You wound me, kid.”
You roll your eyes and shove him lightly. “Shut up. But seriously, thank you.” You tell him. “You’re the closest thing I have to a father figure, you know?” You admit as you give him a sincere hug. He gives you a genuine smile and hugs you back for a second before quickly pulling himself away.
“Don’t get soft on me now, kid.” He teases, making you laugh.
“Trust me, Stark. You won’t have to worry about that.” You promise.
I can feel it coming to the end.
__________________________________________
“You look like a real vision, doll.” You hear as a drink is offered to you.
“Hey there, handsome.” You smile as you take the drink from Bucky.
“I heard you got yourself a date.” Bucky curiously implies as he takes a sip from his drink.
“Is that jealousy I hear, Barnes?” You tease.
“Haha, very funny, doll. Maybe you need to get your ears checked.”
“I think they’re working just fine. I simply wanted to talk with Tony and Loki thought it would be better if I did it by myself.” You explain. “Don’t you worry. You’re still my favorite, handsome.” You whisper to him like you were telling a secret. He lets out a chuckle at your words.
“You’re my favorite too, doll.” He says with a wink. “Listen, I have to warn you.”
“Warn me about what?”
“Steve thinks that Loki has brainwashed you.”
“That’s really stupid.”
“Yeah, I know, doll. He plans on confronting you about it and is going to try to convince you to stay away from him. I tried to tell him that it wouldn’t be a good idea—that you wouldn’t exactly want to talk to him, but you know how Steve is.”
“He really is a gigantic idiot. You know I think all those years in the ice really fucked up his brain.”
“I just wanted to give you a heads up, doll. I know this was supposed to be your night and I didn’t want to ruin your happiness.”
“No, no, handsome. You didn’t ruin a single thing. Thank you for telling me.” You tell him honestly. “If anything you kept this night a happy one for me.”
“Y/N.” You watch as Loki approaches you. “Barnes.” He greets. Bucky just gives him a head nod before leaving the two of you.
“Did you know?” You ask him as you finally take a sip of the drink Bucky had given you.
“That the Captain would plan to do something stupid? Yes, but anyone could guess that, darling.” He tells you.
“I just hoped that maybe this time he wouldn’t.”
“Maybe you should accept the void, the emptiness that lives inside you. Then silly things like love and hope could no longer disappoint you—destroy you. You could no longer be made a fool.” He points out. You glance at him.
You absorb his words. That is what you wanted, right? You would just have a void that is bigger than others. But that won’t bother you. No harm done.
You look back down at your drink before downing it. Loki gives you an amused look. You simply shrug your shoulders at him. “What? I’m not nearly drunk enough to be ready for a conversation with Steve.”
“I didn’t say anything.”
       And now I die slow.
__________________________________________
“Y/N! Wow!” Steve’s voice blares in your ear as he steps into your view. “You look beautiful.”
“Hello, Steve. I was wondering when you would find me.” You greet with no emotion on your face. He takes on a confused look on his face, sort of like a lost puppy.
“Listen—“
“I know what you’re going to say, Steve.” You say as you cross your arms over your chest.
“What?”
“Bucky told me.” You explain. “And honestly, it surprises me how dense a single person can be. So, I just want to be clear with you, Steve. Cause apparently it wasn’t obvious enough when I demolished everything you had ever given me. I don’t want to see you. I don’t want to talk to you. And I sure as hell don’t need you to tell me who I can and cannot hang out with.”
“I’m worried about you, Y/N.” He admits, concern lacing his voice.
“Well, don’t!” You shout. “I. Don’t. Need. You.”
“Why are you acting like this? You’ve never acted like this.”
“You mean why am I not following your orders, Captain? Is that it?” You question, arms falling to your side as you step closer to him. “Perhaps you’re right, Stevie. The old Y/N would have listened to anything that came out of your mouth. But she was too naïve. Too blinded by her love for you that she couldn’t see exactly what was going on.”
“You love me?”
That makes you let out a laugh.
“Don’t play dumb now, Steve. You knew I loved you. I did anything and everything you told me to. No questions asked. No doubts given. I was there for you. It was always me! So tell me… Did you love having me bow to your every whim? Did you enjoy leading me on for years? Did you like controlling me?”
“I don’t know what you are talking about.” He says unconvincingly. You just scoff at his audacity.
“Your mouth says that, but your eyes scream that you’re guilty. You knew exactly what you were doing. Didn’t you, Stevie?” You watch as he stays quiet, not even looking at you. “Well, I have news for you, Captain.” You spit out, making him look back at you with the use of the term. “You will never use me again. You will never control me again. I promise you that.”
In the valley of the dolls, we sleep.

Jodie sat across from Dacre, a few papers on the table between them. They were in the back of the pizzeria still, talking over some things that they had been kept in the dark about. Dacre had always had full trust in his father to tell him everything. He knew that Colin kept things from the twins but he would never keep secrets from him. When Jodie pulled out the few papers she had managed to snag away from Tim, Dacre was amazed.
Colin had been doing business behind his back this whole time. Trading things with people he opposed to, doing things that Dacre had been told he wouldn’t. Jodie wasn’t surprised to find there were many things that Tim had never told her about. In fact she was surprised that Dacre thought it was crazy that Colin kept things from him. She had never wondered how the Firths ran their business but now, being there in the small pizzeria, she wondered about it. If there was any actual love in this house or at least if Dacre thought there was any.
“Why are you marrying Leonardo? Other than the obvious,” Dacre inquired, taking a long swig of the hard drink he had poured himself. He had poured her one as well and she had touched it a bit but more to swirl it around in her hands.
“My dad thinks he would be a good husband or something.” Dacre chuckled.
“I thought arranged marriages ended in the 1800s,” he muttered. She raised her eyebrow and decided not to correct them even though she was pretty sure that his history was off.
“Yeah well my dad's old fashioned I guess.”
“Why don’t you argue with him?” It was then Jodie realized not only were the dynamics with this family different than hers but he had never thought about what it would be like to be a woman in the business they were in.
“Because he could have me killed. He could throw me to the streets. He could put me in Margot's spot and I would sleep with every man that came in the casino doors. Leo is the best case scenario, even if I don’t love him.” Jodie finally took a long drink from her cup and Dacre looked at her, amused.
“Jodie Roth, you’re some type of woman.” She smiled sourly.
“You gotta be to survive this long. I imagine your sister is just as crazy.” He nodded.
“She doesn’t like it either. Any of it. She wanted to be a ballerina. Still goes to the lessons.” Dacre looked like he was far away for a minute. Jodie wondered if he had had dreams like that before he realized he was the heir to a much bigger thrown.
“Good for her. Margot always wanted to make dad proud. I’m just glad she's getting the business and not me.” She paused. “You know I’ve never had a conversation with Leo that went on this long.” He smiled, charmingly. She wanted to say she had never had an actual conversation with anyone who went this long but figured it was a bit much.
“Doesn’t sound like a very good guy then.”
    “You’ve met him?”
“Once. When he came in with Natalia's friend, Y/N.” Jodie looked at her hands and then back at Dacre. He ran his hands through his hair and leaned back, looking at her intently.
“He is a good guy. I know it, deep down. He still loves her. I’d never met Y/N until you sent her to the casino and I swear I’ve never seen Leo look as alive as he did while she was there for three whole seconds.”
Dacre understood her for a moment. He got that she didn’t love Leonardo but that she wanted him to like her at least. He had met the boy with you and could back up Jodie's story if he wanted. You were in love with him and Leo was in love with you. He still wondered how Lana got around it, really got you and him to break apart.
But he had never met Lana and from what he heard, if Lana wanted something she usually got it.
“Fuck Leo. You should be allowed to marry whoever you want.”
“Like you?” she joked. He thought it over for a minute, ignoring the fact that it was a joke at all.
“Why not?” She raised an eyebrow and took a drink.
“Because everyone knows Romeo and Juliet died because their families were at war.”
“Ah but not because you aren’t open to it.”
---()()()()()()()---
Colin still wasn’t sure how he had gotten out of the casino. All he knew was that he shot his way through four different guards to get his daughter out and somehow, Tim hadn’t shot him with his back turned.
Colin imagined his rival, bent on the ground and holding his bleeding, shot, daughter to his chest and his stomach turned. So much for no deaths planned. Natalia and Colin went out the back door and he had a car outside which took them directly to the gun range instead of the pizzeria. Somewhere to hide for a moment to think.
He knew that Tim would find them, anger filled and looking for blood, but for the moment he needed to get Natalia packed for information in the event that Colin didn’t make it through the night.
As he stood in the empty range, Natalia had thrown her gun across the room. It didn’t break but she threw it hard enough for it to.
“I didn’t mean to shoot her!” Natalia said, voice wavering. She knew she wasn’t supposed to be in this business, she knew she would crack under pressure. She couldn’t do it. “This is your fault!” she screamed but Colin wasn’t listening. He was fully ready to yell at her, to scream that she had done things wrong but he had no time.
“Natalia listen to me.” She was still shaking, grabbing at every weapon on her and throwing it haphazardly across the room. Colin grabbed her arms, holding her down and grounding her. “Natalia.”
It took her a moment but she focused on him, her eyes landing on his. Emotions flowed over her face, anger, guilt, sadness, hopelessness.
“Dad,” she pleaded. He sighed and hugged her for a moment, letting her calm down further. He pulled away but still held her arms so she couldn’t go astray.
“In the event that Tim finds us before I get to Dacre you need to give him this paper. It had all the things I’ve started to have deals on, everything that is concrete, everything he needs to take over.” She took the paper, shakily.
“I won’t leave you,” she whispered. He gave her a strained smile.
“You’re going to have to. Remember everything I taught you, be nimble on your feet and show them your grace if you’re caught but I don’t think you will be. Natalia, I love you. Tell your brothers I love them.”
She gave him a hard look and knew, this was goodbye.
    “I will. Be safe.”
Still shaking, she turned on her heels and walked out the back door.
---()()()()()()()---
Saoirse walked swiftly down the street to the pizzeria. She hadn’t found you at your apartment and not at Hughs so she figured you were probably doing something that she wouldn’t agree with.
She walked in the double doors, bell ringing above her head. It was getting late and the dinner rush had started. She can’t remember a time it was this packed. Manning the counter was Timothee, whom she had never met but heard plenty about.
She walked up to him, surpassing the short line and leaning over the counter beside the person ordering.
“Have you seen Y/N?” she asked over the noise. Timothee turned to the newcomer, ready to yell at her for cutting. Dacre was still somewhere with Jodie and he was holding down the fort on his own while he waited for his dad and Natalia to get back. He hadn’t had enough time to wonder what was going on with them or why they were so late to returning.
When Timothee locked eyes with the new girl and froze. Saoirse. He had only heard the tall tales of her, how amazing she was at her job, how terrifying. No one had warned him about how pretty she was. Because Timothee had sworn he had never seen a girl so gorgeous.
“Sorry what?” he stammered. Saoirse looked annoyed.
“Y/N. Is she here?” He shook his head, ignoring the customer before him.
“No, I haven’t seen her since she confirmed the wedding.” In truth you could have been standing just in front of him and he was so struck he wouldn’t even notice you.
    “God that woman.”
“Wait! Stay, I’m sure she’ll show up soon. I think Dacre is getting her.” A lie, but a simple white one. Saorise gave him a long look and knew he was lying but she didn’t have anything better to do. Plus, if she told you that she had waited for you there, it would further prove her point on how your not staying in the middle.
    “One pizza.”
---()()()()()()---
While Saoirse was looking for you in the pizzeria, you were on your way to the bar to apologize to Jake for being so rude at leaving him and not calling him back. Rather, you needed a drink after your talk with Saoirse a few hours earlier and you wanted to avoid Hugh.
The bar seemed like the best option.
You walked in, immediately hit with the scent of alcohol. It was warmer in there than outside and you relished in it. You took off your fur coat and started your walk to the bar counter when you saw Leo at the end of it. You paused, your heels stopping their constant clunk underneath you.
You were sure he didn’t see you but just seeing him made you rethink everything. You looked behind the counter and saw Jake, leaning forward as he talked to a girl you couldn’t see. All you could make out was long dark hair.
Finally you moved forward and caught sight of Lana sitting a few seats down from her brother. You imagined them coming in together and then him sitting away from her. She probably didn’t even care.
You stepped forward again and sat in the seat beside Leo, hopefully making him block you from Lana.
“Since when are Lana and Jake friends?” you asked, not looking at him. You weren’t sure what made you sit by him but you were willing to bet it was habit. Just being near him made it easier. He turned, surprised but pleased.
“I don’t actually know,” he muttered, taking you in. You finally turned, smiling at him. It took you a moment to think of something else to say. You missed him being this close all the time.
“Shouldn’t you be with your fiance?” you teased. Another bartender handed you your usual and you took a quick swig of it, finishing it off in one gulp. Leo laughed lowly.
“Come on princess,” he muttered. You froze. He shut his eyes tightly, refusing to look at you. “I’m sorry I didn’t mean to call you-” You raised a hand.
“Don’t worry about it Leo. It isn’t worth it.” You looked at your empty glass and then at his, wondering how many he had had. Probably at least 5 to call you princess after one sentence with you.
“I hate everything about this deal, is what I mean.”
“Jodie is nice I hear.” Leo nodded, taking in your features as well as he could. He wanted to remember everything that he had forgotten.
    “But I don’t love her. I don’t think I ever will.”
“Too bad.” You turned to watch Lana flirt with Jake, smiling that he wasn’t to hung up on you or Saoirse.
“Y/N I miss you.” You nodded, staring at him and trying your best to hide your emotions.
    “I know Leo.”
You were going to say something else, deathly close to telling him how much you love him as well but there was a shot in the dark that startled you. It was so sudden and so loud that you immediately dropped, grabbing Leo and dragging him down with you. You looked around to find Lana standing but she wasn’t holding a gun. You thought for sure it was her that had shot but the fact that she was standing said something.
Leo pointed to a man standing behind her, holding the gun.
“Jake!” It was Lana's voice, screaming in horror. You had never heard her so distraught. It made you and Leo rise together, still holding on to each other in some way. You grabbed your gun and pointed it at the man who still had his gun raised.
You glanced down and saw Jake on the floor, bleeding out.
“Put the gun down,” you said carefully. You could hear a pin drop in the bar. The man had no time to put his gun down if he planned it because Lana had already turned and attacked him. Leo leaned forward to help her and you grabbed his arm.
“Leo, Leo come,” you muttered. You knew better than to let him get in his sisters way. He resigned and let you drag him out of Jake's bar.

Some Secrets are Better left Dead Chapter 5
Warnings: Stalking,Language Sunday was slow as usual. I spent a majority of my day researching everything I could. The name “Nat” driving me crazy, obviously it was shortened for something Natalia? Natalie? Natasha? No matter what I typed in on my regular social searches I was coming up blank, I would have to dig deeper to find her.
Sighing I sat my laptop on my coffee table and rubbed my eyes, I glanced out my living room window only to see the sun setting. I gasped. I had spent the whole day working and didn’t even notice. As if on cue my stomach started growling. I got up and started pulling together a sandwich and some chips to tide me over, clicking on the evening news while I ate. After a few mundane reports one caught my eye, “Tony Stark to hold Press Conference regarding His stepping down, Monday Afternoon live from Stark Tower.”
I typed a text out to Dean quickly to see if he could get me clearance to attend, after a few pulled favors and lots of back and forth I was in. A press conference wasn’t my style usually too out in the open, but I needed to see if I could run into anyone important from Saturday night. Almost anyone. I Shuddered at the thought of running into the Man and the woman they called Nat again though. Although I know realistically it’s all part of the job and bound to happen again, sooner rather than later.
Monday morning arrived quickly, I got ready to run by the office before the press conference, I needed my press badge from Dean or I wouldn’t even bother going in. I told him I wasn’t making the meeting this week and he excused me, understanding I was busy chasing information. As I crossed the lobby Alice the receptionist grabbed my attention.
“Layla! These are for you” she gestured towards the beautiful spring arrangement of flowers on her Desk.
I blinked for a second before picking up flowers and the card, who in the world would be sending me flowers?
Staring at the Card it Said Star Bright Floral Company on the front, flipping it over I nearly dropped the vase in tiny hand writing it read
Sorry about my friend, her people skills are rusty.
  No name,The Mystery man.
I hadn’t even noticed I had started shaking until alice asked if I was ok, I just nodded my head and started mindlessly walking towards my office. How had he found me? I never once told anyone where I worked. Why, why in the hell did he feel the need to send me that? Did he say friend? So they were there together. Oh boy.
I don’t know how long I sat staring at the flowers and card but it must have been a while because I nearly jumped out of my skin when Dean showed up in my office to give me my pass.
“Hey, kid you okay?” He asked concerned.
“Yeah, didn’t sleep well is all” I said looking up, putting myself back together. If he knew anything was amiss already,he would pull this assignment.
He just watched me skeptically before shrugging and tossing a lanyard on my desk with a pass on it.
“Whatever you Say, good luck out there today.” he said turning to leave my office
I thanked him before he stopped and turned back “Oh and Layla, please watch yourself out there.”
I nodded and smiled slightly, not entirely sure I could form words right now. Picking up the lanyard I studied it taking a deep breath. This was going to be a long day.
Before leaving for stark tower I typed out a text to wade.       Sister Margaret’s tonight? I could use a drink and some information.
Wade responded pretty quickly       Oh Snap, Yeah be there around 10?
I didn’t reply, wade knew I would be there. Sister margaret's wasn’t exactly the nicest joint in new york, not exactly a place you would expect to find a fairly successful male escort or a journalist hanging out but it was where you went to get answers.
I arrived at stark tower before the conference, joining the throngs of reporters in front of the massive building. Unlike them I had no desire to be front and center, I wasn’t here so much for the Announcement itself. No, I was here to people watch, I wanted to see who would be in attendance from Starks group, maybe even put a few names to a few more faces. Give me anything else I can use to dig into his background.
Prior to the conference starting I saw Happy Hogan, Starks head of security chatting with Colonel Rhodes to the side of the stage. Sam Wilson approached the two seeming to join the conversation, I continued my scan to see if I saw anyone else when my blood nearly froze. Standing just beyond the stage almost hiding in the shadows of the building was the mystery man, I had hoped he wouldn’t notice me but well let’s just say luck has never really been on my side.
I tried to ignore his gaze as the conference started, and kept a watch for anyone else. Especially Her. I really didn’t feel like getting cornered again. I must have been deep in thought or something, because for the second time today i nearly jumped out of my skin when my thoughts were suddenly interrupted this time by Sam Wilson.
“Sorry i didn't mean to startle you” he chuckled approaching me.
“You're good, i was just thinking” i said turning  my attention to him, smiling politely.
“Don't blame you, these things can be pretty boring. So wasn't expecting to see you here, where's your friend?”
“Who dean?” i asked, turning my attention back to whatever board member was on stage talking. “He's not here, i'm here for work” i added pointing to my lanyard.
“Ah” he said glancing at the press pass hanging around my neck, then looking back at the stage. Well, guess that cat was out of the bag.
After a few uncomfortable moments of silence between us the crowd roared to life, Tony was taking the stage. Just as he stepped up the podium I noticed a tall blonde muscular man make his way towards Sam and I. Stopping when he reached Sam he gave him a few friendly pats on the shoulder as he greeted him,
“About time you show up” Sam greeted the stranger.
The man, who’s eyes never left me, smiled “Yeah I was coming to grab you, but now I see Im also saving this poor woman from being harassed by you” He chuckled glancing at his friend.
“Very Funny, Captain Chivalrous” Same retorted “This is Layla, we met at that Charity thing you skipped out on the other night” Sam said introducing the two of you.
“Layla this is Cap-” Sam was interrupted   “Steve Rogers Ma’am” Steve said as he stretched his hand out to be shaken. I took it hesitantly at first. I had heard of Captain Rogers, he was a war hero having saved an entire battalion of POW’s single handedly. Slowly gears started to click into place in my head, I glanced at the shadow still watching from the darkness of the stage, if this was Steve Rogers that made my mystery man his best friend, Sergeant James Barnes.
I gulped as I released the Captains hands, things just got a lot more difficult.
“You ok?” Steve asked me, bringing me out of my thoughts.
“Yeah!” I said quickly trying to recover. “Just kinda listening, gotta have something to report ya know” I said, pointing at my Pass once again.
“Ah” the Captain conceded “Well I’d hate for us to keep you from your work” he said giving me a sly sort of smile.
“No, your Ok, I’m a decent multitasker” I said, mentally kicking myself, but returning a polite smile.
Steve was eyeing me, a look on his face that I couldn’t discern. Part of me wanted to believe he was really america’s sweetheart like everyone was made to believe. But something in my gut screamed that looks could be deceiving.
Just as Tony was welcoming Pepper to the stage, I saw a streak of red making its way through the crowd. Nat. And she wasn’t alone a blonde woman was in tow right behind her. The blonde glanced from Steve to me, obviously not liking the way he was watching me, an almost smug grin on his face.
“I told you to go grab Sam, not start giving statements to the Press” She said practically spitting the word Press while glaring daggers at me.
My heart started pounding in my chest, this was bad. This was very very bad.
“Very funny Natasha” Steve responded. “I was just making a new friend, you should try it sometime.” he grinned at her for a moment before turning back to watch me.
Natasha rolled her eyes at him “Whatever Rogers, we gotta go. Besides you're being paged, maybe you should try checking your phone sometime.” She said eying him before nodding back towards the stage. Barnes never having taken his eyes off the group, or me in particular, looked annoyed.
After having an apparent silent conversation with the redhead and a quick scan of his phone Steve sighed then turned to Sam “She’s right we better run” Turning to me, reaching to once again take my hand “It was nice meeting you Layla, hopefully it won’t be the last time.” He winked and turned to follow Natasha, the blonde woman just glared at me, I was very thankful looks couldn’t kill at this moment, then she turned and stomped off following steve and natasha. Sam said his quick goodbye and apologized for his friends behavior before following the group. The sounds of everything around me was muted as I watched the group quickly work its way to where Barnes was hiding on stage. I could see James and Steve have a very animated conversation their attention every once in a while turning to me before they finished up and head into the building just as the press conference wrapped up.
    Yep, I'm so screwed.

A Little Too Late Chapter 2
Summary: Years after the death of Ziva, a case comes up where Tony finds that she was keeping a secret from him.
AOL
FF.net
Chapter One
Time froze around him as his heart stops. He knew it couldn't possibly be true. It just couldn't be true.
‘I lost my sister, Tali, last year in a Hamas suicide bombing. She was 16 and the best of us.'
He swallows at the memory. Abby and McGee stare at him as if he had grown a second head in the time he has stood in this spot. "I only know one person with that name." He stutters out, his throat catching, making it hard to breathe. The two stand before him, gesturing for him to continue. Surely they have heard of the story, surely Ziva had mentioned her sister to the rest of the team. Or was he the only one to have gotten her name? To have known her history? "Ziva's little sister. But this girl is too young to be that Tali."
"Obviously." Abby comments, folding her arms.
He pulls out his phone and calls the one man who can get him the information he needs. "Natalia, get me the director. Something has come up."
***
"Orli, long time no see." Tony's comment was dry, but not unwelcoming.
"I am not surprised, Tony, after Ziva died, there was not much left to talk about after you killed Trent Kort." His heart clenches at the memory of that day. "What is there to talk about now?"
Nodding to McGee at the desk beside him, the image is brought to the screen. "Earlier today, we got a fingerprint match to 10-year-old, Talia David." He pauses, his tongue clicking the roof of his mouth. "We ask if you recognize her?"
Orli was quiet for a minute, looking over the girl in the picture. "Where did you get this match?" She asks, interested.
"From the customs at the international airport, crossing into the country. From what we found, she came from Israel a week ago."
"Yes," Her thick accent lathers the single word, Tony's temper slowly rising. "Talia is Ziva's daughter, she went missing eight years ago, presumingly kidnapped by the same people who had her murdered."
"And who exactly is the girl's father?" His fist clenched beside him, hiding them from the woman's view.
She didn't skip a beat. "You are."
He grounds out, "And you see fit to just now tell me?" Oh, he was pissed, outright pissed. "And why is this the first time I'm hearing about this, madam?" Her eyes shifted, not meeting his gaze for a moment before staring straight ahead.
"It was not my place to tell." Short and straight to the point. "But you already figured that out," She folders her hands in front of her. "Why exactly did you call?"
"Tali's," Tony's heart skips a beat. "we found a Bloody fingerprint at the crime scene this morning. We figured she somehow knew the Sergeant, but now knowing this new information, I suspect otherwise-"
"-She could be the murderer?"
"I would say her captors." He smirks, crossing his arms over his chest. "But if you think a 10-year-old could take down a full grown, fully trained Marine, without a struggle, then I'm impressed."
"Don't underestimate a David, Anthony DiNozzo."
***
He steps out of MTAC, throwing his head he lets out a deep sigh. Having a daughter was not something he was expecting to hear today. Or ever. He had requested the INP from Orli, the Israeli equivalent of AFIS, he wants to make sure that this was the same girl that went missing from her burned down farmhouse eight years ago. Abby can do a blood test to confirm that this was his daughter, they had a blood sample. Just need to make sure it is hers. Raising his phone, he calls the woman and makes it happen.
He takes a moment to himself, his worries lie in the basement. He was this close to confirming he had a daughter with the woman he loves. But finding out that she had been kidnapped from her home on the same day someone killed her mother? Who would take a two-year-old? He had more questions than answers along with a murder to solve.
Inhaling, he walks to the elevator; he had something he needed to do before he found out the results.
The swoosh of the Autopsy doors welcomes him to the cool room. He spots Jimmy leaning over the victim, hands deep in his gut. "Palmer!" The medical examiner looks up at him, pulling out what looks like the man's kidney as he greets the team leader. "What d’you got for me?"
Placing the body part in the scale, Jimmy clears his throat. "There wasn't much I could get from the Sergeant, he was in peak fitness shape, so finding a lack of defensive marks on his forearms and hands is interesting." The medical examiner explains lifting the arms to Tony, showing the lack of bruising and swelling on the knuckles and forearms. "The only marks on his body was the single bullet wound to the forehead." Tony looks down at the head, oddly to use to the top of the head cut off. "I found the bullet in his brain, it had ricocheted off of the back of the skull, leaving a small dent. I took a sample of it and sent it up to Abby."
"Good, good." Tony nodded, glancing up at the man. The room was silent for a moment before he finally asked. "Did you know Ziva had a daughter?" He expecting Palmer to drop something, but the man wasn't holding anything that would bang or clang on the table or floor. "Yeah, I didn't think so."
He moves to turn away, making it to the door before the other man finally says something.
"Why wouldn't she have told you?"
Tony's heart broke again, finally hearing the words aloud. "I don't know, Jimmy." He sighs.
***
"It's a match, Tony. The fingerprint and blood we found at the crime scene belong to Talia Antonia DiNozzo."
The answer is straight to the point, and one he wasn't sure if he really wanted to hear. This little girl, who was kidnapped on Israeli soil, was here in the United States.  But why? He has so many more questions that need to be answered. And the only person who could give him almost all of them was dead.
McGee steps up beside him, staring at the picture of the two-year-old from the missing case report. Even at such a young age, he can see Ziva in her. In her cheeks. Her hair. But her eyes? It's like looking in a mirror.
"Why change her name to David? Wouldn't it arouse suspicion?" He asks.
"Deputy Director David? Couldn't be Daddy, now could it?"
"David is a common name in Israel."
"From what I've been told, it's a popular name. She would have slipped under the radar." McGee didn't question him on where he had learned it, taking his word. "Abby, call me when you find out more information on what little evidence we have. McGee, get the team to continue to search for leads. I want every and any asshole who could have a grudge on Sergeant Morgan. Narrow it down even further to who could have known Tali." He says facing the man meeting his eye. McGee nods, quickly looking over to Abby before staring back into his boss' eyes. "I want you to look up anything you got on the case file from when Ziva died," He felt his heart tighten at the word. "Get Gabby to translate it if you must. Orli should have sent it over not too long ago. I want my best man to find out who kidnapped my daughter. Even if I'm 8 years too late."
And with that, Tony walks out of the door and into the elevator. He had some place to be.
***
The drive to the house took him less time than he had expected even though the time had never changed. But his thoughts aren't organized, nor was he ready for this conversation. Sitting in the driveway, he works on gathering his thoughts, he can't seem to find the right words though.
A knock on his passenger window startles him, he glances up to find his old boss standing on the other side of his door. Exhaling, he opens the door and slips out, then crossing his arms atop the car roof, not saying a word.
"Can I help you with something, DiNozzo?"
Stepping back, he closes the car door and makes his way to the front door of the house. "This isn't a conversation for all ears, Boss." Taking the hint, the old man follows him into the house.
Once inside, the two sit down on the couch, Tony not looking at his former boss, just staring into the fireplace.
"I don't have all day, Tony, spit it out." Gibbs sighs, Tony smirks.
"You're retired, Boss, you do have all day." It still shocks him when he receives the head slap even though he should have seen it coming. "Ziva…" He hears the intake of breath at his partner's name. "She had a daughter."
"Tony." He hears the warning in the man's voice, but he pushes on anyway.
"My daughter, Gibbs." His head shoots up at the man, finding his old boss staring at him, utterly shocked. "And she never told me."
After years of pent of emotion and frustration, tears finally spill from his eyes. Tears that should have fallen when he said his goodbye to her. To the moment the farmhouse blew up. To when she was pronounced dead by Orli. To the yearly anniversary, he endures on his own, of not being there to protect his ninja. But now, now is when they fall, when he's talking to his old boss, who was next in line closest to Ziva, knew half of her secrets. The man who would have walked the woman down the aisle.
Now he cries.
He feels the clap of Gibbs' hand clamping onto his shoulder, and he cries harder. "Why wouldn't she tell me? What was she afraid of?" The older man says nothing, instead putting his words into his hands as he squeezes Tony's shoulder. "I wanted her to come home, every single day, I just wanted to hold her again."
"I know."
"But…" He pauses, sniffling, rotating his head on his shoulders. "But I just wish she had told me. I would have been there in a heartbeat. ‘Count to a million', I said. And I'd do it again, cross the planet for her. She was… no, she is my everything. And now, Tali. She's all I have left of her, but here's the kicker. Someone kidnapped her the day Ziva died before the firefighters could have arrived."
Around him, Gibbs moves about the house, the next thing he knows, the man is holding a bottle of beer before him. "You might need this." With a short thanks, Tony cracks open the beer and taking a couple of gulps. "You know that you are all my children, don't you?"
Tony nods, taking another swig of the beer.
"With Ziver," the man pauses. "It felt like I had Kelly back, it was like raising my little girl again." Tony was awestruck by his boss' words. He knew Ziva was like a daughter to the man, but he never knew he felt like this. "Did you know Ziva was only a couple years older than Kelly?"
No, he never really thought about it. Like he never thought about the age difference between him and his partner, but it makes sense. His Ziva was born in ‘82 while Kelly was born in ‘84, if they grew up as neighbors, they could have been friends. Best of friends.
"I took her in, pulled her under my wing. Like with Abby, I would do anything for her. But she was the baby of my family. She'd ask for anything, I'd drop everything and do it. When she called me, telling me that she wasn't coming home, that I wasn't picking both of you up from the airport, I drank myself to sleep that night." The man paused in his quiet monologue. "I had lost my baby girl again."
The room went quiet for a long time. Too long it felt. But in peace they drink, they drink to the memory of the woman they both love. They didn't stay a word until they hit the bottom of the bottle, mutually agreeing on another drink. With the pop of the bottle cap coming loose, Tony speaks up. "I have McGee getting Intel on Tali's kidnappers, getting help from Mossad where he can. Johnson and O'Riley are tracking down leads for suspects."
Gibbs doesn't respond, instead, he gets up off the couch. "Want a steak, DiNozzo?"
His eyes following his former boss to the kitchen and back out to the living room. "Yeah, sure." Tony continues to update him on the case as they eat.
***
It is closing in on midnight when Tony finally arrives home. He knows he should call his dad, let the man know that he has a granddaughter out there, somewhere in this city. Breaking the news to Gibbs was hard enough but to Senior? He might need the stronger stuff for such conversion.
Pulling out his cell phone, he unlocks it and scrolls to his father's contact number. Tapping it, he brings the phone to his ear as he unlocks his apartment door. The same apartment he's had since… since forever, really. Since he and Wendy broke up. There was only one change in the apartment in the time he has lived there.
Opening the door, the sound of something scraping against the hardwood flooring behind the door alerts him. Looking behind the door, he noticed something as he hears a faint ‘Hello? Junior?' coming from his phone.
Down behind his front door was a large envelope with ‘Anthony DiNozzo' written on it in childlike penmanship.

He loved her for everything she was and decided to be
Maybe listen to this when reading :  ♫ danielions' Best of 2018 - K-Indie (happy)
For the first couple parts everything written in bold and in between the lines is “current commentary”, I added “c/” (current) and „p/„ (past) later on so it’s not confusing because the parts in “our time” get longer. ^^
Tumblr media
“Did your really think I didn’t know what I was doing?” He asked her. The setting sun made his melanin skin glow a bit more than usual as his slightly wet hair framed his face. “I knew exactly what I was doing back then.”  Hyunjin started leaning back, dangling his legs off of the rooftop and looking directly up into the sky to watch the sunset. “I just thought that we were a match made in heaven as soon as I saw you."
*****
P/
He really loved remembering that day. She was just sitting there, her feet lightly tapping to the music but her gaze focused on her notebook. "Why don’t you just try and talk to her?” Jisung asked, teasing his friend who thought no one saw how he looked at the girl on the other side of the café. “Wh- what? I’m not staring at her.” “I never said that… I was actually talking about our initial topic, the problem you have with your teacher, you know.” The grin on his face grew with the shade of red Hyunjin’s face became. “I- I mean…-” Hyunjin finally gave in. “Was I that obvious?” “You forgot that your eyes speak, too.” “I don’t know… Something just,… I can’t stop looking over.” “That’s why I told you to go and talk to her.” “But that’s weird, isn’t it?” “Not really. I meam people do that all the time. Just leave when she wants you to leave.” “So… you really think I should go?” Jisung sighed, throwing his head back in desperation. “If you don’t go now I’m calling her over. You’ve been looking at her all this time now, you’re going to hate yourself if you don’t go now."
Hyunjin gathered his whole strength, took a deep breath and got up-
only to turn back around and slightly shake his friend who really didn’t expect. "Han! I really don’t think I can do this. I never did this. Help!” He tried to whisper but at the same time he felt like screaming his soul out. “Just be yourself. You don’t have to flirt, just be nice and funny like you are.” Another deep breath again, but this time Hyunjin really turned around and didn’t stop until he was at her table.“
The girl he wanted to talk to- completely immersed in what she was writing couldn’t tell that someone was being her company. She was leaning her head on one of her hands and wrote with the other, any strand of hair that fell into her face, she swiftly tucked behind her ear and went back to writing again.
———————————————————————————————————–"Do you know that feeling when you look at something or someone and all your nervosity just disappears? That’s how I felt with you. I had no idea who you were but you just looked at me and I felt safe." ———————————————————————————————————–
P/
Hyunjin, now rather calm, shortly stood up to tap her shoulder. "Hm?” This is the first time Hyunjin really saw her face, she had fair skin and her eyes were a really light blue. For a couple of seconds he just looked at her and it felt like infinity until he finally brought out another word. “He- hello.” “Hi?” She looked rather confused as to why she was randomly approached, but she patiently waited until the boy in front of her kept going.
———————————————————————————————————–“I don’t know just looked at you and you seemed so confused even though you were the one to start talking to me. It was really funny, now that I think about it again.” ———————————————————————————————————–
P/
“Do you need anything?” “Your name.” Hyunjin immediately regretted saying that but what can he do? She already heard… and to his surprise laughed about his words or at them he didn’t know yet. “Wow, that’s pretty straight-forward. Don’t you think?” “That’s… also not the direction I wanted to go to but I mean… I spoke already. I’m Hyunjin if that is of any help whatsoever.” Hyunjin’s gaze wandered from left to right, he was clearly uncomfortable and shy again but he wanted to fight through. “I’m Natalia.” She smiled at him, taking away all his nervosity again. She didn’t know her effect on him but he knew and his courage slowly built up again.
———————————————————————————————————–“Honestly, my weak point might have been your very nervous and highly chaotic energy." ———————————————————————————————————
P/
"Nice to meet you.-” Hyunjin adjusted his position and was sitting comfortably now. “Would you mind if I accompany you for a couple of minutes?” “No,… I wanted to take a break anyways. Do you want something to drink?” “No, I’m good thank you."
There’s that awkward silence we all know right? When someone just randomly stops talking or there’s just nothing to say? That… didn’t happen. Neither one knew the other but to them it felt like they met a friend, someone that’s familiar - coincidentally - and now they’re just sharing a silent moment together. "What are you reading there?” “Oh this-” Natalia picked up her book turned it around a couple of times, not really sure why she brought it. “ - just a book I’m reading these days. I thought about reading it during my break today-” “-oh god I’m sorry. I can leave if you have plans.” “What- no no. I figured it makes very little sense to only read for hours and hours I have to allow my eyes to rest too, you know?"
"I think I’ve read that one too, sometime in school.” “Sometime in school, sounds like you had to love it.” Natalia laughed again, unconsciously cleaning her table, putting away her sheets as if - in her mind - she was done studying. “I mean I read it but I didn’t understand the book back then. It made no sense and I really just read it to pass my exams at some point.” “Oh really? I really love that book. I think I’ve read it a couple of times already.” “What? What do you see in that book, that I can’t see?” Hyunjin leaned forward now, really interested to hear what she thought about the book he hates so much. “Wow uhm… I kind of really like the author’s viewpoint and understanding of the little actions. There’s a lot happening in the main characters’ life but he really shows that you can and need to appreciate the little things. At points he really made the life of that person really messy and nothing went well and you got sad while reading but then… you know that person comes home to a warm meal and it’s like the best thing ever and even as a reader you feel that kind of ease? I don’t know if that makes sense.” “Oh wow. I never looked at those things like that. Honestly when I read it I got so confused as to why that person was so happy about that meal? It made no sense to me because I knew what was bad and it felt as though the person was naive?"
"Do you understand now?” “Hmm… I do. I think."
——————————————————————————————- "I understood that my heart was racing because you were smiling at me.”
——————————————————————————————-
P/
“Oh wait. I think I’m being called.” Hyunjin looked around to find jisung frantically moving his arms to get his attention. “I need you really quick.” He said, trying not to disturb the few people left at the café. The boys had to sort out their problem they talked about earlier, it took a little but he was walking back to Natalia’s table as if she was the person he met up with originally. “Hm?” She wasn’t there anymore he thought that she might’ve went to the restroom but the note on the book she left, said otherwise. “Heyo, I got a message and had to leave. Wasn’t able to say goodbye but it was nice talking to you! I’m leaving the book, you read it again. Maybe you’ll understand what I was talking about now. Have fun!"
Hyunjin… was devastated to say the least. He knew he wouldn’t have asked for a number if he knew that she had to leave but he enjoyed his time with her a lot. No reason why, at least in his head, but he really enjoyed her company.
The boys walked home. They usually talked a lot but today, it was really silent.
Hyunjin threw himself on his bed as soon as he arrived. He didn’t talk he didn’t eat. He just slept, or tried, until he got back up and looked at the book she had left him. "At least you’re not that boring book anymore-” he got up to his shelf and looked were he placed his own version of this book. “-you’re a memory I want to keep.” Hyunjin took the sticky note that was still on the cover and wanted to place it inside so it wouldn’t get lost. But as he opened the book he noticed faint writing on the back of the cover page. “This book belongs to: Natalia / If lost call: —-” This can’t be right? Was this really on purpose or is it a coincidence?
———————————————————————————————————–“I felt like I looked into a diary. Like I was looking at a secret I wasn’t supposed to see." ———————————————————————————————————–
P/
Hyunjin gave himself little time to think about his next action. He knew he wouldn’t do it after trying to talk to any of his friends, no matter what they said. So he just grabbed his phone and texted the number. "Hello there. It’s Hyunjin, from the café earlier. Thank you for leaving your book. ^^” It was a basic message, he didn’t want to come off as weird. In his head this was a really normal thing to say, he didn’t want to force friendship on her.
———————————————————————————————————–“I waited so long for an answer. I thought it was a wrong number, a number that’s out of service. So many things went through my mind." ———————————————————————————————————–
P/
He sat on his bed now, nervously holding his phone in both of his hands. Hyunjin must’ve looked so funny on his bed because he also didn’t know how much time passed until his phone finally buzzed.
"Oh hi. I’m glad you didn’t just leave it there. But how did you get my number?” Oh. Oh no. Hyunjin started panicking, would she think he’s weird for texting that number? But she was the one writing it down… “Oh it was in the book. In case you lost it.” “Oh, I forgot I did that. Sorry, I was just confused.” “That’s a lot of confusion coming from the same person. I should be sorry. ^^"
Hyunjin made a little noise and let himelf fall on his bed again. It was the same process as earlier now, he had to act or he wouldn’t do it. "True, but that’s fine.” “So… can I confuse you one last time today?” “Uh… sure.” “Would you meet me again? In the same café? I really enjoyed talking to you.” Hyunjin threw his phone away as soon as he texted that. He didn’t know what was driving him but he ran out of his room to go and tell Jisung and the others.
"You did what? / And how? / How did she react?“ Questions on question were asked as Hyunjin only watched his friends, kind of out of breath. "Wait wait, let him calm down first.” Their oldest exclaimed while watching his friend more or less panicking. “I don’t know I tought I wouldn’t do it if I talked to Jisung, because he was there. And then I thought talking to all of you would take too long and I wouldn’t do it again so I just messaged her and left."
While Hyunjin explained everything to his friends, Jeongin - their youngest - made his way to Hyunjin’s room and looked for his phone. He was mischievous and known for that, so he checked his phone for messages. Jeoning walked back into the shared living room and had a big grin on his face. "Looks like someone has a date tomorrow.” Hyunjin jumped up, not sure if he should be angry or not, and grabbed both the phone and jeongins hand to read Natalia’s message. “I’m going to be there tomorrow again, around noon. I’ll be waiting for you!” He let himself fall to the ground, he expected a lot but not that she would answer right away. “Wow.” His friends gathered around him and patted his back, they were happy for him but he didn’t really seem to realize what just happened.
———————————————————————————————————–
“Woah I was so nervous then. My heart just didn’t stop racing for a good 10 minutes or so.”
———————————————————————————————————–
P/
The night went by fast, everyone was excited for the next day and Hyunjin…. well Hyunjin thought about what to wear, which perfume to use and even what to say to her. He was nervous to say the least but happy Natalia had accepted to meet him again. Hyunjin didn’t even know if this was normal or something really special, but to him it felt really special and that was more than enough. “I’m leaving.” He said, looking back at all his friends who were standing in the hallway. “Don’t be too late."
The day felt like a whole new season. It was spring yes but have spring days ever felt this good? It felt really warm, the sun was shining brightly and everything started to blossom. He never really realized these things, is it because he was happy? While walking to the café many thoughts were crossing his mind. Was he being weird, did he gain a new friend? Why was he so nervous and why did he feel so happy to meet a person he didn’t know until a day ago?
His heart started beating faster the closer he got to the café but he tried to stay calm. Hyunjin looked around to find her, something about her face looked really familiar so it would be easy for him to find her. There she was, sitting at the same table again. This time reading a book. "What are you reading?"
———————————————————————————————————–
"I don’t believe in love at the first sight, really. But I do believe in a click. And the click was there.”
———————————————————————————————————– c/ “It was so weird wasn’t it?” Natalia asked, memories just kept playing in front of her eyes. Believing it was difficult. How a conversation about a book changed her life for the better. Their lives, to be exact. “See, I told you I knew what I was doing.” “Well, you really didn’t.” “What do you mean? I killed it. Everytime we met you left happy.” “Well that doesn’t have to be because you knew what you were doing. You were so confused all the time even though you were the one making almost all the steps. It was so funny.” Hyunjin sat up straight, ready to face Natalia in a joking manner. “What, what. Tell me when was I ever confused and didn’t know what to do.” “Huh? Okay. We could be here until tomorrow if I start now.” Their laughter filled the evening breeze. “No no. I bet you can’t even find two moments.” “Two? That’s easy. Remember the time we hugged for the first time?"
———————————————————————————————————–
P/
"Thank you for walking me home. You really didn’t need to.” Hyunjin and Nat were able to call their meetings dates now. Weeks passed by after they met the first time, but it felt like it was so much longer. None of them wanted to rush things so they only said they were friends to everyone but everyone said they were made for each other… and they knew too.
Since their dates kept turning to be really long for the past times Hyunjin decided to  walk her home. The area wasn’t dangerous but he tried to spend as much time as possible with her. “It’s late and you shouldn’t be out alone at this time of night.” “That’s really sweet but you have to walk home now and you live far away.” “No, it’s fine. Really, I can just use the subway.” “Tell me when you’re home okay? Or else I’ll worry.” “I’ll call you.” “Hyunjin, you said that last time and forgot.” Hyunjin shyly scratched the back of his head. “Ask me why.” “Why?” “Because I sat down with the boys and didn’t stop talking about you for hours and hours."
A shy laugh escaped Natalia’s lips. "That,… I mean. That’s still not an excuse.” Internally, she was really happy that it was darker, like that no one would be able to tell how much she blushed. “I’ll call this time I promise. I’ll get going now.” Usually, Hyunjin would just walk off and Natalia would turn to go into her home. This time, however, she almost out of reflex stood on her tiptoes and flung her arms around Hyunjin neck to say goodbye. “Bye, be safe.” Hyunjin just stood in her embrace for a split-second until he slowly put his arms around her waist. He tried to hide his face in her hair and hoped this moment would never end. Not only because he wanted to stay like that, but also because he felt so embarrassed and thought that even at this bad lighting his red face would show. “I.. I will- I should…” After the split he tried to collect himself and made really awkward movements into the direction he would go to. “I should go now bye.” And off he was. Hyunjin stumbled over his own feet and after scratching his head burried his face in his palms while still walking. Natalia still watched him walk into the darkness and in that moment felt like she had to say something. “I can still see you.” And without saying a word Hyunjin went back to walking down the street “coolly”.
———————————————————————————————————– c/
“But I was cute wasn’t I? And you smiled? So win-win.” “Where is the win for you there?” “Uhm… I… I made you happy?” “That’s a good safe sir.” “Was I really that awkward?"
"Hm. I mean if you randomly hugged me I would react the same but since we hugged already, the first hug from your side didn’t feel that sudden you know. But it was so funny to watch you stumble and probably internally scream… And then you just walked as if nothing happened.” “Hah! Wrong. I didn’t just internally scream I actually screamed in my hands but you didn’t hear because I’m good.” “No that just makes it funnier.” “But you love me so that’s fine. Okay. That was the first, I said at least two.” “Hmm… there’s a lot actually. And you know that stop lying.” She pointed at him as she laughed and Hyunjin scrunched his face. “I’m not awkward."
"OH! You remember when we were dating and we went to that… uhm the market thing? Where an older couple approached us and said that we looked similar? And asked if we had the same parents. Clearly joking and you freaked out?” “To be fair-” He started, holding his pointer finger up in order to underline a fact, that really shouldn’t be a fact. “I didn’t want people to think that we are siblings because if I were to kiss you that would be weird?” “You know that’s ridiculous. We really obviously aren’t the same nationality. Hyunjin you were so hesitant to say that we were dating. They were just trying to tell us something and you just stumbled - again - over your words."
———————————————————————————————————–
P/
"No no. We- We are n-. I mean we look similar but- ” The couple infront of you smiled at Hyunjin’s nervosity and tried to explain why they said what they said. “Don’t worry. We were just joking.” “Oh..” “So, you guys do know you look similar?” The older lady asked while moving her graze from Hyunjin to Natalia. “Actually yes. A couple of friends have told us. They found it funny that we got together and look similar.” Natalia tried to explain. “But we didn’t realize that until then.” Hyunjin finally said. “You know what my mother told me when I was younger?” The smile on the lady’s face grew bigger and her eyes seemed to shine of youthfulness at the thought of her past. “She kept telling me that my soulmate would look like me. My mother believed that people who look alike are meant to be together. Soulmates faces would compliment each other and when I look at you two I can really see that. You really look like you were made for one another.” The lady looked at the man next to her. “Just like we did when we were younger, right? We always heard that we were a perfect match. Wherever we were and look at us now 50 years later. It’s nice to see that even the younger generations can find their soulmates.” “That’s really nice of you to say-” Hyunjin started off, holding the elders hands now. “I hope that-” his looked at Natalia now “-lives as long as yours does."
———————————————————————————————————– c/
"But see. I was insanely sweet again.” “How-” Natalia started laughing uncontrollably. “How do we always end with ‘Hyunjin’s cute.’?” “Because I really was, you can’t lie.” “I mean it was cute that you held their hands. And that we just talked to them.” “Yeah… listening to their stories was really one of the highlights. I hope they’re doing well.” “Okay that was cute."
"But it’s so funny. After that day so many people told us we looked alike. So randomly, too. We didn’t even tell that story.” “Honestly, after that day I kept finding similarities in our faces or things that one of us has but the other doesn’t.” “Maybe we really are soulmates.” Natalia said, staring off into the - now almost completely set sun. “Wait, you didn’t believe that from the very beginning?” “You did?” “I mean yeah. I do know you don’t really believe in love at the first sight but I also don’t.” “Hyunjin what?” Natalia just laughed again, what Hyunjin just said made no sense. “Like I didn’t believe in that and then I met you and bam. You know.” “Baam and poof there was love?” “Pretty much.” It was a laughter filled evening. Their happiness was a thing many other people admired and adored about them.

“Woah you guys almost make me jealous.” Chan said, while looking at his friends with a shocked expression. “Don’t y'all think so, too? They are so cute and giggly. It’s so surreal.” “True.” Everyone at the table joined in now. “The way they look at each oter? I mean sorry that I own a heart no need to rip it apart.” “And then when only one of you is laughing the other one is STARING at the one laughing?” Natalia was holding onto Hyunjins arm and tried to hide behind him. “You all need to stop. I’m cringing.” “WHAT? It’s y'all doing these things and you cringe about us telling you this?” “Stop making her shy.” Hyunjin said while puttin his arms around her. “Oh look at prince charming.” Minho started teasing him. “He loved her for everything she was and decided to be.” Everyone was laughing at his choice of words. “I hate all of you.” Natalia said, now looking at everyone. “But I do love y'all too and you know that.” “No, you love Hyunjin.” “I swear to god Felix." “Oh do you remember when they first met?” Jisung asked. “Woah, that was one tough day.” Chan laughed. “What? I was pretty calm.” Hyunjin pouted. “Yeah sure.  You kept the conversation going for at least two hours. You didn’t know one another and talked about a book. For two hours. Two. Hours.” “I mean we are pretty good with books.” “Hyunjin literally hated that book before you talked about it.” “That is very true I have to admit that.” “See I affect him in a good way.” “I also have to admit that Jisung was a really good sport that day.” “Why?” “Nat, you know why.” Jisung laughed. “It really started when you told him to stay.-” He looked at Hyunjin now.  “Do you remember when she told you to stay and be with you? That’s when I knew and I just watched from afar.” “Of course I do.”
"He looked like he wanted to cry. He really did.” “Because I wanted to cry.” He laughed.
“We went back home then right? And I didn’t really talk the way home for some reason I felt like I had lost a battle. I was so sad.” “I really didn’t know what to do. Really. I wanted to joke about him being in love but it felt so bad even to me.” “And then you were home and just suddenly bursted out you messaged her.” Chan pointed out, everyone was just digging in their memory. “He looked so stressed and I’ve never seen him just do things you know. He must’ve felt so many things in that moment to just message you.”
“Wait no, do you remember when they tried to hide the relationship.” “Oh-” The boys now started acting really really bad, just to tease their friends again. “You mean when they tried friendzoning each other for a day until we told them that we knew?” “I still don’t understand how you found out.” Both Hyunjin and Natalia questioned. “I think we acted pretty well.” “Sure-” Woojin started. “Just friends. No one believed that to begin with.” He laughed. “But why?” “Just friends don’t steal secret glances from one another.” Jisung threw in. “Adn they don’t get jealous when the other one talks about someone else.” This time it was Seungmin. “They also don’t look at each other like that." ———————————————————————————————————– c/
"Are you happy Nat?” “Hm?” “Are you happy with me?” “Of course I am. Why would you even question that?” “I didn’t. I just wanted to hear it again.” Natalia scooted closer to Hyunjin now, to lightly hug his arm and lean her head against his shoulder. “You’ve been hearing that for the past few years and you’ll hear it for many more.” Hyunjin very faintly kissed the top of her head, smiling against her hair. “I hope so."

Chapter 19 - The Assassins
The ‘I love yous’ slowly started to trickle in after Wanda’s declaration. After saying it to her I felt I needed to tell the others considering I felt it for them too.  I still knew that for a lot of them I may never hear those particular words in that particular order.  That didn’t matter to me.  It just mattered to me that they knew.
Sam said it back almost automatically.  Like he’d been waiting to say it but was a little bit scared to go first.  He didn’t like to make a big deal of it though, and if I went overboard at all he’d tell me to stop getting mushy.
Natasha was the next one to return it.  It took a little longer and when she did say it, she made a big deal about it.  It wasn’t just an ‘I love you too’.  She pulled me aside and told me how much I meant to her.  How she had trouble expressing herself.  How happy she was that I’d put myself out there to make this work.  Then she had told me she loved me.  We kissed and she left the room as quickly as she could.  I didn’t see her again until the next day.
Clint wouldn’t say the words out loud.  I did find though if I signed them to him, he’d sign them back.  He wouldn’t do it if Natasha was looking.  It was like it was a secret just between the two of us.
Steve told me the day he had to take Clint on a mission for a few days.  He pulled me aside just before he got on the Quinjet, dressed in his uniform and ready to go.  He’d said, ‘I love you, El.  Take care of yourself.’   He then kissed my forehead and got on the plane.  It made me anxious.  I worried that he’d just said some final goodbye to me.
“He’s a punk.  Don’t worry about it.”  Bucky said as I sat on the recliner opposite both him and Natasha, hugging my knees.
“Why’d he have to tell me then?  It was super final.”  I whined.
“He probably did tell you just in case he didn’t come back.  He’s had people in the past he didn’t do that with.  But he’s coming back.”  Bucky said firmly.
“Didn’t come back that one time he crashed a plane in the ice,”  I muttered.
“Woah, doll.  Come on now.”  Bucky said leaning forward and rubbing my knees.
“He’s coming back, Mishka.  You don’t need to worry.  But this is the job we have.  It has risks.  If something did happen, he wanted you to know he feels the same way for you.  That’s all.”  Natasha explained.  “That is something you need to come to terms with.”
“But I don’t want to come to terms with it,”  I whined.
Bucky looked at the others.  “What’s the sleeping arrangement tonight?”
“Well, I’m with you,”  Nat said.
“Tony and Bruce are caught up in the lab, they’ll probably stay together. I was going with Sam.”  Wanda added.
“You want to join me and Tasha, Elly?”  Bucky asked, his thumbs drawing circles on my bare thighs.
“But you don’t like it when I sleep in with you.  In case…”  I trailed off.  He knew why he didn’t like me actually sleeping over.  He was worried about waking up trying to kill me.  He only ever agreed if he, Steve and I were in his apartment and he felt too guilty to ask me to leave.  If he came to my apartment they always left and if it was just him, the guilt wasn’t enough.  I didn’t think that Natasha would be strong enough to hold him down if something did happen.  I would have thought that would be worse.
His hands slid a little further up my legs, his fingers continuing to draw small circles.  “Maybe you can think of a way that might make all three of us sleep much better?”
My thighs twitched and I squirmed in my seat.  “But normally Steve…”
“I’m feeling alright, doll.  I promise.  I wouldn’t ask if I was worried.”  He said.  “Tasha is much stronger than she looks.”  Bucky soothed.  “So how ‘bout it?”
“I’d love to,”  I answered.  “If you’re sure.”
Bucky stood and offered me his hand.  “I’m very sure.”
“Right now?”  I asked, looking up at Bucky.  Natasha stood beside him and gave me that devilish half smile of hers.
“No time like the present,”  Bucky said.
I took his hand and he pulled me to my feet.  “Well goodnight, you two,”  I said, kissing Sam and Wanda goodnight.
We took the stairs to Natasha and Clint’s floor and followed her into her apartment and down to her bedroom.  As soon as we stepped in the room Natasha and I started to kiss.  Bucky leaned against the doorframe and watched us.  As we started shedding clothes he approached us and engulfed us in his arms.  His hands roamed our bodies, touching every piece of exposed skin he could reach.  The cool metal of his fingers made my nipples harden to the point they were slightly painful.
I broke our kiss with Natasha and both turned on him together.  Natasha pulled his shirt off over his head as I worked open his fly and pushed his pants down.  He kicked his shoes off and stepped out of them as Natasha and I kissed a trail down his body.
When we were on our knees in front of him we kissed again.  It was all tongues, almost like we were putting on a show for Bucky as much as we were doing it for just us.  His hands went to our hair bunching it in his fists as he watched us.  I took his cock in my hand and slowly pumped it and Natasha and I leaned towards him.  Our mouths moved to either side of Bucky’s cock and we kissed over it.   Our tongues swirled together over his shaft and Bucky let out a deep moan.
I started sucking the head of Bucky’s cock while Natasha ran her tongue down over his shaft and balls.  I ran one hand up Bucky’s abs, and the other explored Natasha’s skin.  I pinched and teased at her nipples and she started rolling a finger over my clit.  I hummed and my eyelids fluttered closed as a pleasant tingle spread out through my cunt.  Bucky started to roll his hips, adding some friction to the wet suction I was applying to his cock.
Natasha pushed two fingers inside of me and started fucking me with them.  I released Bucky’s cock with a gasp and she took over, taking him deep into the back of her throat.  We started taking turns when she released him I took over.  Bucky’s cock leaked precome onto our tongues and his abs started to tighten.
Natasha pulled away from both of us and stood.  Bucky took her wrist and pulled her into a deep kiss.  I watched them from my spot on my knees, my mouth still wrapped around Bucky’s cock.  Natasha whispered something in Bucky’s ear and as she spoke Bucky lifted the hand she’d been using to finger me and sucked her fingers, his eyes trained on me as I bobbed up and down on his cock.
“That sounds good to me, Natalia.”  Bucky hummed.
She ran her fingers through his hair and then offered her hand to me.  I released Bucky’s cock and got to my feet. “Come with me, Mishka.”  She said with a purr to her voice.
I followed her as she guided me onto the bed, she lay back on her pillows, spreading her legs and guiding me between them.  I kissed my way up her stomach.  When I reached her breasts I swirl my tongue over one nipple and then the other before moving up.  My lips met hers and she used her foot to pull me tightly against her.  I started to grind my pussy against hers.  We kissed slowly, letting the buzz build between us.  Our tongues swirled together, and our hands roamed.  Soon we were both teasing each other's clits with our fingertips.
Bucky came up behind us and started rubbing the head of his cock up and down my folds.  His hand ran up my spine and tangled in my hair and he thrust inside of me.  “Fuck.”  I groaned, breaking my kiss with Natasha.
Bucky snapped his hips against me, one hand on the middle of my back the other in my hair.  He leaned over me, licking up my spine and biting down on my shoulder.  Natasha’s finger worked my clit as I rubbed hers in tight circles with my thumb.  I sucked at her breasts, pressing my teeth on her nipples and she squeezed my breast and sucked at my throat hard enough to mark.
Both Bucky and Natasha run hot.  Their heat passed through me as I was pressed between them moving as one.  A film of sweat formed on my skin, and I could feel my orgasm rapidly approaching and just as I was sure it was about to happen Bucky pulled out, grabbed Natasha’s hips and sunk into her.  He and Natasha started to kiss over my shoulder as he fucked her.  Nat’s fingers kept working over my clit, continuing to keep the buzz running through me.  I could feel the ways she was responding under me and Bucky.  The way her core clenched and released.  The rise and fall of her chest.  How her pulse sped up under my lips.  As she came close to the edge Bucky pulled out again and sunk into me.
This happened again and again.  He’d fuck us right to the point we were about to come before pulling out and switching to the other.  I became a trembling wreck between them.  Barely able to hold myself up.  By the time Bucky finally let me come sweat ran from my brow and my legs shook.  My orgasm was intense.  My core spasmed and I cried out burying my neck into Natasha’s neck.  Bucky pulled out and moved to Natasha, this time fucking her harder and faster than before.  I kept rolling my thumb over her clit but every snap of Bucky’s hips shoved me upwards.  Natasha came with a loud moan and her fingers dug into my back.  Her orgasm brought Bucky over too and he emptied inside of her.
We collapsed down into a panting heap.  Limbs completely tangled together.  I lay panting on the bed feeling slightly high.  Bucky ran his hands through my hair.  “How are you doing there?”  He said, softly.
“Spent.  I can’t, you’re all going to kill me.”  I sighed.
He and Natasha chuckled.  “How about the three of us go take a nice hot bath?”
I nodded my head.  “Someone will have to carry me though.  I’m broken.”
“Don’t worry, dork.  I’ve got you.”  Bucky said, untangling himself and getting up.  It was then, I realized, that maybe for some of them the word dork might be the way they said they loved me.  Bucky lifted me into his arms and I rested my head on his shoulder.  “I love you, Buck,”  I whispered.
He nodded his head and kissed my temple as he followed after Natasha and even though he didn’t say the words, that was enough.

Bayo OC redesign- Vincent
Tumblr media
Next in line is my meme-loving boy Vinnie for my bayo redesin, As always, big thank you to @tradramblings for helping me with this one.
Name: Vincent Farkas or Badrul Zulkarnain
Nicknames: Vinnie, Nines, Baddy, Vin Vin, Memer( by Samson), Nerd.
Age: 40(physically), possibly immortal
Gender: cisgender male
Sexuality: asexual biromantic
Pronouns: he
Back-story: Unlike his rambunctious brother, Ariel, Vincent spent his time in the solitude of one of the many libraries available, letting his mind wander at written words on the papers. Sometimes he’d be in the forest, studying animals and plants in their natural habitat. Despite his precociousness, Vincent enjoyed the quiet presence of his brother, his parents and his tutor. Outside of his Clan, he would read stories to younger children, enjoying their awestruck expression as he wove vivid pictures with words. Though he was the son of the Commander of the Inquisitors, he had no interest on joining them whatsoever, preferring to spend his time studying the less physical arts of the Lumen Sages. His father, Kaiser, encouraged his son’s pursuit for knowledge and placed him under the tutelage of of an old friend, Salem, who happened to be one of the Clan’s emissaries. Surrounded by intellectuals and other emissaries, Vincent was on cloud nine, eager to discuss anything and everything that he came across. Unfortunately, not many took the young boy seriously as they busied themselves with other matters, leaving Vincent behind. Salem, a big man with a bigger heart cheered him up by telling stories of his travels to faraway lands, laced with a thrilling sense of adventure and exaggeration. That cheered him up as Vincent excitedly bombarded Salem with several questions, which the Sage was happy to answer. Eventually, the rest of the emissaries slowly warmed up to the boy. He did put a smile on their faces, after all, letting them forget the stress of diplomacy.
Years later, Vincent became one of the most successful emissaries of the Clan. Poised, level-headed and savvy as he performed his duties with a sense of professionalism, tempered with a talent of of reaching out and connecting to other parties. Occasionally he would bring little gifts, trinkets that he picked for his now-elderly mother and his brother, Ariel from his missions. In one of his diplomatic mission to the Umbran Clan, he accompanied Salem for a meeting when he met a young Umbran assassin who went by the name of Gonzalo. The two bonded instantly over the fact they were the younger siblings of the family and curiosity about inter-Clan differences. When the mission was over, he promised to send him letters, making sure to keep Gonzalo updated with what’s going on. Vincent fell in love with one of the Lumen healers, Balqis, who originated from Palestine. Attracted by her gentle demeanor, humility and a wisdom beyond her years, Vincent sought to woo her by following the best advice: being himself. That meant a lot of questions: where she came from from, what Palestine was like, who taught her those skills…in short he asked everything under the sun about her. Balqis was annoyed at first but grew to find it adorable, and found herself eventually enjoying his company. She admired every small details from his determined green eyes to the awestruck expression when she answers his questions. After years of courting, secret rendezvous and dinner dates, they finally married under the watchful eyes of the Clan Elders, their families and his mentor, Salem. The couple then were blessed with a pair of twins, boy named Haikal Iskandar and a girl named Raudhatul Aisya, everything was right in the world.
Alas, those tranquil days were over when news of a child, born under the union of a Witch and a Sage had spread far and wide, corrupting the Elders’ mind with poison as they had banned their kin from ever visiting their counterparts. It also had affected the emissaries negatively, for they were no more playful banter in the air and cheers in the air as they revert to their old ways, cold and emotionless. Even Salem wasn’t immune to this, as he began to grew distant towards his proteges including Vincent, his beloved former student. Vincent understood why his former mentor acted the way he did but it still hurt him greatly, missing his hearty laughs and and cheesy jokes. The tension started to built, and soon, war erupted between the Clans. No one knew what triggered it, but they all saw it coming. Vincent, fought alongside with his fellow Sages to defeat the Witches, albeit with a broken heart as blood, corpses and empty bullets covered the battlefield. Terrified of what became of his family, he rushed back to the Clan only to be greeted with a scene that would haunt him for eternity. Piles of bodies lying on the floor, with signs of terrible battles carved on once pristine walls and pillars, and lost to their Umbran counterpart. He checked every single one of the dead Sages until Vincent found Balqis in the most terrible way. She was leaning on one of the pillars, hanging on for dear life as she struggled to stand up and limped towards Vincent before collapsing, not before he caught her. Tears flown from those hazel beautiful eyes, her hand weakly caressing his cheek, begging to look after their children and told him that their children were taken to safety by his father, Kaiser, and with her last breath, she kissed him goodbye before being claimed by the passage of time. Vincent broke down immediately, despair and anguish filled the atmosphere as he cried for the loss of his love, his comrades and the destruction of the Clan. Doleful, he buried Balqis somewhere nobody can reach before leaving runes, charms and flowers to guard her final resting place before he wailed in pure agony, blaming himself for not saving his family time. Once the war was over, he traveled to his late wife’s birth country, dedicating his life to study the nature of knowledge and it’s limitations.
Centuries passed quickly like grains of sand, Vincent who now goes by the name of Badrul Iskandar is a world renowned scholar, famous for his research on religion, humanity and magic. Living peacefully in the outskirts of Salzburg, Vincent reminisce those bittersweet memories, wondering how his family are now doing . Lately, he often frequents at his brother’s restaurant to catch up with what’s been happening, abusing his status as a sibling for free meals, or cracking up dad jokes much to Ariel’s dismay.
Beasts within : Hound within(West Siberian Laika)                           Falcon within(Red-footed falcon)                           Insect within(Asian giant hornet)                           Otter within(Eurasian otter)
Lead Laguna: Seshat, goddess of wisdom, knowledge and writing.
Extra:
Is particularly fond of seafood and tends to bug Ariel to cook a seafood paella just for him.
Every year on a certain summer’s day, he always went back to Vigrid to pay respect for his late mother, Natalia, and his late wife, Balqis. He would leave their favorite flowers on their tombstones so they won’t feel sad.
Because of his height, he enjoys teasing his brother and calls him ‘little brother’ for fun. Occasionally he gets head-butted by the angry Inquisitor for that remark.
Despite appearing serious and what-not, he’s very fond of animals and currently owns two rescue cats, Minerva, an old Maine Coon, and, Surya, a young Siamese.
Extremely allergic of peanuts and would get terrible rashes should he ever ingested some.
He remains loyal to his wife the point where he closed his heart off from love.
Whenever his father, Kaiser, came for a visit, Vincent would store all of his fragile pieces due to his tendency to wreck stuff up unintentionally.
When he heard that his son, Haikal, is having a relationship with a witch, Vincent is worried about their well-being but overall he gave them blessings.
He is brokenhearted when his wife’s home country is ravaged and their people killed in cold blood but he saw ferocity and resilience in those eyes, refusing to let their land be defiled
He taught both of his children the same way his father taught him, with humility, grace and pride.
Vincent enjoys people’s reaction when his daughter, Aisya, is being her unapologetic self, knowing that they often underestimate her.
He treated Gonzalo like his own brother and often enjoys watching his perfomance alongside his family and Samson.
His family are polyglot and it certainly help Vincent every time he traveled abroad for business.
Will beat the ever-loving shit out of people who refused to respect his personal space.
Despite being a Sage, he’s extremely proficient in firearms, able to shoot from glocks to machine guns. He learned how during his time in WW2 when he fought against the Nazis.
Protective of Ariel especially when the older brother gets approached by a very persistent suitor.
Over the time, he began to appreciate the art of memes and dad jokes which Kaiser seems to be proud. Ariel however isn’t.

--
Still holding hands, Nat nocks on the door of number 133 Westend Drive.
Mrs. Coellee answers the door with a gloomy look on her face.
"What's wrong Mrs. C?" I ask sympathetically. "Oh, today just hasn't been the best day for me. First, I hear from the Norths that you've washed up on their doorstep covered in blood. Which I truly fell so sorry about, and on you're birthday as well." She says shaking her head clutching her sunflower yellow shawl, which lays over her plum coloured dress.
Nat's grip on my left hand tightens as Mrs. Coellee menschen's my 'little mishap'.
"Then, after I had finished talking to Mr. North, I heard horrible news from the hospital. My mother, she has passed." I place my free hand over my mouth as I gasped. The whole neighborhood know that Mrs. Coellee's mother was sick and in the hospital, but we all assumed she would get better any day now.
"A natural death, they told me." She says clearly not wanting to talk about the passing of her mother. "At least now she is with my father." It's no secret that her father died. A heart attack, it happened almost five years ago.
"Well we should really get going so we need to collect Rachel. I suppose a nice tea and a hot bath will cheer you right up." Says Nat. I glare at my friend, how could she be so insensitive.
"Ah yes. 'Rachel' has already left. 'She' said you'll know where to find 'her'." Mrs. Coellee says using air quotes when she says Rachel, she and her. She waves goodbye as we walk away.
"Should we get our bikes?" I ask. "Sure, lets get mine first." Nat says, leading us in the direction of her house. "You can get it yourself. It would be much faster if we got are own bikes alone." I say, pulling my hand away from hers.
"No, you are not going back to that house alone." She says grabbing my right arm with her left hand. I can feel the tension in the air around us . "I'll be fine, she won't even know in there." I tell my friend with fake confidence. I want her to come with me, but I can't let her know that. I don't want her to think I'm weak or afraid of my own house, or that I need protecting.
She grabs my arms with her hands, "Promise you'll text me of anything happens." She says looking me in the eyes. The blue meets and green. The tension burns my eyes, while a kaleidoscope of butterflies flutter around in my stomach.
"I promise."
She runs in the direction of her home, well I run across the concrete road and on to the sidewalk. I run up the driveway of number 138, and luckily last time I road my bike I was too lazy was to put it in the garage.
I grab my indigo bike and sit on the brown leather seat. I grab the handle bars and kick up my kick stand, I quickly put my two feet on the pedals. I swerve around the silver minivan and red SUV and ride down to the end of the survey.
Nat's already waiting for me on her dark purple bike, we ride down in the middle of the empty roads as fast as we can. We both pedal as fast as we possibly can, passed the Primary school, passed the movies and passed out the local diner.
We see the entrance to the woods as we turn on to yet another empty street. Normally, unless you want to go into the 'dangerous' woods, you would stop here. But if you want to talk somewhere you can't be heard, than the wood are the only place in this shit town were that's possible.
We pull up to the entrance of the woods, placing our bikes down next to Rachels red bike, telling us we're in the right place.
"Why wouldn't she have waited for us?" Nat asks with a hint of annoyance as we duck through the hole in the tall barbed wire fence. "Probably because she wanted to get there before dark." I presume, pointing up at the pink and orange sunset.
"Yeah but still-"
"What is my company not enough?" I ask jokingly.
"N-No I-"
"Relax, I was just kidding." I reassure her as she steps on a fallen tree branch, sending a shiver down my back.
I've always loved the wood. It meant spending time outside of my shit house, and spending time with Nat and Rachel. But I never liked how the trees were so thick and close together, the fear of what's behind each one lingers in my body, leaving only when I've made it to the clearing.
"She wasn't always like this," I say, stopping suddenly remembering my mother before the accident. "What do you mean?" Asks Nat as she stops as well, turning to face me. "When she was twenty-one, she was on a plain with her parents. There was a crash, and only a handful of people survived. All of which, were not her parents." I say slowly, pausing after each sentence.
"I remember hearing about that, but I had no idea they were there." Nat says, " But that still doesn't excuse her from being a horrible mother." She says, crossing her arms as we continue to walk.
"She turned to alcohol as a copping  mechanism, and became addicted to it. She of course hid it from father until they were married and had Robin. We still don't know if she was drinking during her pregnancy with Robin and Joseph." I say, baring my emotions farther down inside me. I don't want to think about it.
I can feel Nat reaching for my hand and I allow her to take it, intertwining our fingers together. A swarm of butterflies dance in my stomach, and that burning sensation that makes me what to be closer to Natalia only grows as our hands meet.
We make it to the clearing in the middle of the woods, the snow is still wet due to the thunder storm yesterday evening. The leaves that fell from the trees last fall peck through the thin layer of snow.
Rachel sits on a fallen tree log with her blue coat on the ground in front of her. She hears us emerge from the spruce trees with no leaves,
"Hey guys," She says looking nerves. "happy bir-" She freezes mid sentence when she sees my bandaged face.
"I know, I look even worse than I did before." I say jokingly.
"And I didn't even think that was possible." Nat says
"Ouch," I say dramatically as I feel my face go red.
I explain what happened leaving her with an angry expression. "You can't keep letting her do this to you!" She says, almost in a scolding manner. I open my mouth to respond, but she holds up a finger to stop me, "I have something to tell you two. You might want to sit down." She says' gesturing for us to sit on the log.
Nat Lets go of my hand, making the butterflies and the happy feeling leave me, and sits down on the log. "Come on, sit down." She says to me. "I'm not siting on that, its wet and I personal don't want to get my jeans all wet." I say
"Well then sit on her lap." Rachel says, before I can respond she pushes me on to Nat's lap. I can feel my face go red as I grab on to her so I don't fall off.
"I have to tell you something." Rachel repeats. "Natalia, Patton you know what LGBTQ+ is right?"
"of course we do Nat's the gayest person alive." I say nodding my head.
"Well..." She says, unzipping her sweater to reveal a navy blue top with the trans flag. The words 'Surprise I'm Trans!' are written in a bold white font.
For a second I don't understand, but as soon as my confusion fades away I jump up and give my friend a big bear hug. I can feel Nat join in a few seconds after. "I already told mum and Maddison, and I chose the name Ritchie-"
"Like your dad" Nat interrupts as we break apart.
Mr. Coellee died in car crash about seven years ago,  just after Maddison was born.
"Yeah, you guys can call me Ritchie, and my pronouns are he/him." Says Ritchie, tears of either sadness or relieve stream down his face.
I'm hoping it's the Latter.

A Hard Lesson in Miracles: Chapter 1
Tumblr media
Authors’ Note: Happy Holidays, wonderful readers!!! Are you ready to celebrate with Rafael and Natalia??? Join them as they trim the tree... and Rafael realizes a way to make his hermosa flor’s day merry and bright!!! @vintagemichelle91 and I hope that you enjoy!!!
He still slept in.
While confronting Alexander in court almost eradicated the nightmares and the feel of Natalia near always allowed him to smile before a sigh, Rafael remained weary. In so many ways, he was still a man without purpose. Lacking a schedule and a current case left him rudderless, stumbling about blindly.
And the so-called season of miracles did very little to aid his mood.
That morning he woke to the sounds of Violetta’s excited claps and squeals, a familiar, clipped British voice mingling with those of the women in his life. After a few seconds of listening, he stretched away from the sheets, intending to learn the reason for so much merriment…
…only to pause when he saw Natalia standing in the doorway of their bedroom.
“Good morning!” she stated brightly, moving as she spoke to sit on the edge of the bed and wind her arms around his neck. Rafael quickly returned her embrace, inhaling a whiff of the winter’s cold blending with her vanilla scent. She kissed his temple and pulled back slightly, one hand resting on his forearm while the other caressed his cheek.
“We have a tree,” she told him.
“We do?” Rafael curiously asked.
“Yes. My father brought it by… is that okay?”
Still wishing that he could completely escape the space of his own head, he stopped short of arguing when he saw Natalia’s eyes wide and reached for her face.
“It is perfectly fine, hermosa,” Rafael said. “Better him than me dragging it up the steps.”
Natalia frowned, but he hurriedly kissed her while one hand delicately cradled the back of her head.
“Not that I wouldn’t have,” he murmured against her cheek. “I want the twins’ first Christmas to be perfect.”
“It will be,” Natalia promised. “Because their Papi is home.”
Without warning, or maybe inevitably, a lump caught in his throat. He tried to suppress a shudder when a flash of the prison walls blared in his mind’s eye. Swallowing the lump and the memory down, he smiled and played with a lock of his wife’s hair.
“Thanks to you,” he said. “Is Trevor still here?”
“Yes. Violetta is being very stealthy.”
“How so?”
“She’s asking him all kinds of questions,” Natalia said. “How does he feel about gloves? Would he like a new pair? If so, what color?”
“Trevor better start working on his huge surprise face,” Rafael said, crawling out of bed and pulling on a pair of khakis and an olive-colored sweater.
“You forget that my father’s a secret agent,” Natalia said, following him to bathroom and watching him brush his teeth and comb his hair. He briefly contemplated the razor resting atop the sink when Natalia snatched it from his hand.
“Stay a little scruffy, Atticus?” she begged, batting her eyelashes. “Pretty please?”
“This is getting to be regular thing,” he said. Naturally. Obviously. Why shave when he didn’t have to look sharp for court?
“I like it lots,” Natalia said. Snaking her arms around his waist, she lifted to the tips of her toes, her chin on his shoulder, and she met his bearded visage in the mirror.
“You’re biased,” he said.
“And you are devastatingly handsome,” Natalia replied. Her kiss was quick, so close to his temple, and she reached for his hand. The ADA, if he could still call himself that, offered no objection and followed her from the bedroom.
“I have blueberry muffins,” Natalia said.
“Coffee first,” he said. “Cake later.”
“Atticus, it is not---”
“Doesn’t make it any less appetizing, but it is, hermosa.” She paused on the landing, and he curled one finger under her chin.
“You know your sweet tooth is one of the first things I adored about you,” he said.
“Buy me a box of candy for Christmas and I’ll love you forever, Atticus.”
“Only then?” he asked, tilting his head to one side.
“Well… let’s just say it won’t hurt.”
Holding her again, Rafael glanced over her shoulder to see Ashtonja and Violetta picking through the ornaments. Hazel and Holly watched from the sofa, the former surveying the scene as he would when dealing with a hostile witness. Holly seemed happier, more trusting when the angel gifted by Lizzie Flanders appeared. A series of unspoken words passed between the twins at the sight of their sister... sisters. New Year’s resolution. Take steps to make everything with Ashtonja official and—
“Happy Holidays!” Trevor beamed when they descended the staircase, and he reached to shake Rafael’s hand.
“Likewise, Trevor,” Rafael responded. “Thank you for the tree.”
“No need to mention it,” Trevor assured him. “Of course, the job would have gone so much easier with a proper set of gloves.”
He deliberately raised his voice on the last set of words and looked to Violetta who tried for a sneaky smile before pulling on the hem of Ashtonja’s shirt. She laughed in the older girl’s ear as Trevor turned back.
“Never fear,” Trevor continued, almost whispering. “I will play it shocked and awed.”
“You’ll make her whole Christmas!” Natalia said, kissing his cheek and inviting him to stay for some coffee.
“Sorry, love,” Trevor said, glancing at his watch. “I have to help someone select a gift for Ms. Harker.”
“Fin?” Rafael asked knowingly.
“They’re quite smitten the pair of them,” Trevor said. “Mike told me that Brenna sought him out to see what Fin would fancy and…”
A cloud seemingly drifted through the window and hung over their heads. Rafael tried to touch Natalia’s arm when she tossed her head back with a smile.
“We’re so excited to have both of them on Christmas Eve,” Natalia said. “Dinner at 7?”
“Your mother and I will be there with bells on,” Trevor promised. Hugging his daughter goodbye, kissing Violetta and the twins and Ashtonja, the Brit took off with a skip in his step.
“You alright?” Rafael asked.
“I won’t be if we don’t trim this tree,” Natalia said, and she headed to the box of ornaments sitting before the sofa. Violetta rummaged through a separate box and gasped as she pulled out a red and white figurine, holding it carefully and presenting it to her little sisters.
“Now Hazel and Holly,” she started. “This here is The Elf on the Shelf. He going to keep watch until Christmas morning. You better behave. That’s how you get a Harold.”
Waving at the hippo sitting in an armchair, wearing one of her thousand tutus, Rafael felt a few beads of sweat on his brow, and he took hold of Natalia’s shoulder.
“Hermosa? A word?”
Gently placing two ornaments back in the box and gracefully draping the garland around her shoulders, Natalia followed Rafael into the kitchen, giggling lightly when he pulled her closer.
“Atticus, what are you up to?” she asked.
“Want to get our stories straight,” he said, lowering his voice. “More hippos?”
“What?” Natalia asked, narrowing her eyes.
“What Violetta said,” he continued. “Do… I mean are we really planning to add two more hippos to the household?”
“Would that be such a bad thing?” she shot back with a small frown.
“No, I… it’s just that Harold is… huge. And isn’t Violetta supposed to share?”
“Would you deny our daughters, Atticus?” Natalia challenged.
“Never,” he quickly replied. “But can you picture three girls dragging three Harolds around Manhattan?”
Natalia kept him in the space of his question for several seconds before bursting into laughter.
“Truth be told I can’t,” she said. “But don’t worry so much. Pretty sure that Violetta’s just going for the sweeping statement.”
“Oh?” Rafael asked.
“Yes. The twins will want their own plush toys. In time. This year, I think they’ll just eat and sleep and laugh when we tickle their tummies.”
“But I… it’s not that I don’t want them to have presents,” he said, trying to dial his original statement back. “I’m just---”
“Adorable, Atticus,” she said with another kiss. “We’ll go shopping tomorrow and stay up all night wrapping.”
The idea of simply sitting in their bed, having her close and feeling her arm brush again his was a present in and of itself. Nodding, Rafael held her hand as they returned to the living room.
“Wait until you see, Ash!” Violetta said. “It be the best when we have Christmas dinner.”
“Looking forward to it, V.”
“Did you have big Christmases where you lived before?” Violetta asked. Tensing, Rafael watched Ashtonja’s face darken, knowing all too well what her life must have been like, one sorrowful holiday after another. He half-expected a tear to slide down her cheek, but Ashtonja’s face expanded into a huge smile.
“It was okay,” Ashtonja ultimately answered. “Course there was no cool kid like you to share it with!”
She winked, and Violetta sighed dramatically.
“Ash, you no need to flatter. I getting you a very nice gift.”
The older girl laughed, and Natalia started to join in when Violetta interjected fast.
“But it really is the best,” Violetta stressed. “And I know Tia Maggie finally come visit us here. She would never miss Christmas.”
Out of the corner of his eye, Rafael saw Natalia’s face fall. Her eyes glistened over a sniffle, and he moved to hold her when she ran one hand over her face.
“I’m fine,” she promised.
“No, you’re not,” he said. “You miss her. I don’t even understand… Mike is not losing his shield.”
“I don’t think that’s the problem,” Natalia said. “But it’s not like she’s sharing the whole story with me.”
Swiftly, she pecked his lips.
“It’s okay, Atticus,” she said. “Let’s get back to the girls.”
She made a point of showing Hazel and Holly each ornament before placing it on the tree. For this morning he would let it lie. Ashtonja queued up Jingle Bell Rock on her iPhone, and Natalia seemed happy enough as she sat on the sofa and bounced the twins on her knees.
“Papi! Come help, too!”
Rolling up his sleeves, Rafael started untangling the lights. He felt better than he had in weeks when twins giggled and Ashtonja spun Violetta in the air in between adorning the evergreen. Another glance at Natalia told him that his wife still wondered if she would ever make amends with the ballerina.
And right there on the spot, he vowed that she would not have to wait much longer.

Tumblr media
The steam from the water in the bathtub rose in the air, disappearing as it got higher. Bucky was laughing at the story you’d just told him as he dripped water upon your exposed skin. He places a kiss on your shoulder, feeling a smile upon your skin as he places it.
“Bucky?” He hums in response, “Do you love me?”
“Of course, I do, a lot.”
“I’m just wondering.” He wraps his arm around you and pulls you closer,
“What are you thinking of, Y/N?”
“Nothing…” You begin, “I just- I remember the first couple of times we met, you’d said that you didn’t believe in love.”
“People can change, I guess.” There was a moment of silence before you smile and take a big breath, exhaling loudly, “You want to ask something.”
“What?”
“Just ask it.”
“Bucky…”
“C’mon,” he chuckled, taking your hands into his and intertwine his fingers with yours, “we promised no more secrets, right?” You nodded, “Just ask, I’m an open book.”
“Why didn’t you believe in love?”
“It’s really, um, quite complicated, I don’t know, I guess, I just didn’t have a stable example where love worked out. My dad left before I even started school, my mom got divorced like six times and all the guys she’s married or gone out with were assholes, the guy she’s married too right now spends all his time gambling while his daughter, you know, my sister, she’s out there struggling to get up and go to school every day,” he sighed and lifted your hand up to meet his lips, “I’ve never had a stable relationship, in and out of family.”
“What about Sharon? She seems like a good person.”
“No, she, um, well, she admitted that she was cheating on me while we were together, I fell in love with her and everything was one sided,” He let out a nervous chuckle, “the paternity test came back…” You pushed yourself from him, feeling the water rush against your skin like waves,
“Oh my god, and?”
“She’s one hundred percent not mine, she’s Clint’s.”
“Are you okay? I mean, you were the one who was there when Darcy was born, up until now.”
“I am, a little bit but I also know, I’m not in a position where I can be a great dad. My job takes me to different places and her mother isn’t the person I love. I want my family to be different to the one I grew up in.” You pushed yourself closer to him, taking his face into your hands and kissing him deeply,
“You’re going to be an amazing dad one day, Bucky, I have no doubt about it.”
“I love you.”
“I know,” You giggled, “now, this water is getting cold so, let’s get out?” He nodded and got up, getting your towel from the rack. He helped you wrap yourself so you were warm enough from getting out into cold air. As he stepped out of the tub, following behind you, and gave your ass a little smack, making you yelp, “Hey! Behave, Sergeant.” You played,
“I might not be able to if you keep calling me that.”
“I guess, I can be lenient to a little disobedience.” You smirked. He let out a seductive laugh and tackled you to the bed, making you laugh loudly to his gesture, “I’m a little cold, let’s get dressed, Buck.”
“Fine, but I’ll get you back later!” You got up from your shared bed and let your towel drop,
“If you say so, Sarge.” You tease, wiggling your ass at him, he chases after you and puts you atop of him,
“You are such a fucking tease.”
“Me? I have no idea what you’re talking about.” You say innocently. You feel his bare cock on your unclothed pussy and you couldn’t help but moan as he bucks his hips against you, “Jesus fucking Christ.”
“Say you’re sorry.”
“No.” You giggle as your eyes roll back. He pulls away,
“I guess I’ll just have to get dressed then.”
“No!” You protest, “I’m sorry!”
“Good.” He lays himself on top of you again, his body in between your legs. He leans down to press kisses against your skin, “You’re so goddamn beautiful.”
“B-Bucky, please…”
“Patience, baby girl.”
“I don’t fucking have that.” He lets out a laugh,
“I’m trying to be romantic here.”
“I know, sorry, but your turn me on so fucking much, Bucky, please fuck me.” You sat up and took his semi hard cock into your hands, stroking, making him moan from the friction,
“Jesus…”
“C’mon, Bucky, please?” You give him innocent eyes and before you knew it, he had grabbed your hips and moved you upward on the bed, situating himself in between your legs. You giggled at his roughness until he entered your heat without any warning, making you roll your eyes in pleasure, “Fuck!” He thrusted into you roughly, making you moan loudly, profanities spilling one after the other. Bucky grunted and placed soft kisses upon the skin of your shoulder, “Oh my fucking god!” He intertwined his fingers in yours as you chanted out his name like a song.
“Christ, baby girl, fuck!” He hands are behind your head, thrusting deeper as your legs wrapped around his waist. He nuzzles himself into your neck, his rough breath felt hot against your skin, “You’re so tight.”
He rested his head against your forehead and he whispers for you to open your eyes. His voice strained and desperate. You look up at him. With one look in his eyes, his baby blues. Almost as clear as the ocean. You’re done for. Your whimpers are getting pitchy, your nails are digging in his back, your toes are curling. You bit your lower lip, trying to stop the blissful end. You wanted him.
“I can feel you, sweetheart, you can- Oh, fuck!” He cries as you clench around him,
“S-sorry, I- I just- I’m trying not to cum!” You giggle with a pant. He begins to thrust his hips erratically, his groans getting rougher,
“Cum for me, baby, fuck, cum!” You arch your back into him, your nails drag down his back, surely leaving some marks. He suddenly takes your face in his hand and kisses you as his thrusts get sloppy, releasing himself into you. His hips get slower and he whispers almost inaudible ‘I love you’s’ in your ear. He pulls himself out of you and grabs the covers from the end of the bed and tucks you both into the bed, “You okay?” You nod in silence, “You sure?”
“I love you, Bucky.” He places a kiss on your head,
“I love you, Y/N.”
“Do you really have to go?” He nods his head and takes your hand, that was rested on his chest, to his mouth,
“They need some help up there, it’s my job.”
“I know,” you pull yourself closer to him, “you’ll come back, right?” He laughs,
“Always.”
The whole day was a blur. It’s like an out of focus camera, everything happened so fast, before you knew it you were at base with him. He had driven you and Lily back to his place, Lily and Rebecca getting along so easily. You remind her to be a good girl, Bucky on the contrary, told her to do whatever the hell she wanted. The drive to his base was silent but your hand tightly gripping his was just enough to tell him that you didn’t want him to go, that you’d miss him.
You walked him to the runway, where his jet was waiting. Steve stood next to the stairs leading up to the door of the jet. The jet was almost the same colour as the camouflage of his uniform. As he went to take his hand away from yours, you gripped him tighter.
“Sweetheart, I gotta go.” You wrap your arms around his neck,
“Promise me you’ll come back.”
“Baby-”
“Bucky, please, I need to hear you say it.” You didn’t realise the tears come out of your eyes and onto his uniform,
“I’m gonna try.”
“I’m gonna miss you so much.”
“I love you, Y/N, I gotta go.” He takes your arms off of him,
“I’m gonna be waiting for you, James Buchanan Barnes.” He salutes you as he steps into the jet. He salutes you goodbye and you let out a chuckle.
The car felt empty. The apartment would feel emptier too once you’d step into it. He left a scent on your bed, like coffee and cologne mixed together. You gripped the sheets as if he was inside them, like he’d just reappear. There was a boiling in your stomach. You had a gut feeling, you don’t know what it was or why you were feeling it but you didn’t want to think about it.
You checked on Lily, happiness streaming out of her as she played with the beaded bracelet on her wrist given to her by Bucky’s little sister. She lifted her wrist up to show you and you nodded, giving her an expression of adoration. You sat down beside her and kissed her forehead.
“I’m guessing you had a great time with Rebecca?” You asked. She nodded her head enthusiastically,
“She is so cool, Y/N!” You nodded in agreement. You took a deep breath and rubbed your hands against the top of your jeans,
“So, uh, what do you think about Bucky?”
“He’s really nice, I like him,” she smiled sweetly at you, “and he’s hot.”
“Hold you’re horses there, he’s mine.” You joked, giving out a laugh. There was a moment of silence before she shocked you,
“Are you gonna marry him?”
“Lily! I- No- I don’t know.”
“You love him, don’t you?”
“I do, a lot.” She shrugs her shoulders,
“Then marry him!”
“You’re like two years old.”
“I’m ten, dumbo.” You tackled her to the bed as you both bust into a fit of laughter,
“You hungry?” She nodded,
“Take out?”
“That’s my girl.”
Three months had passed. Like every day, you cross off the date on the calendar. You smiled at the little count down that Bucky had written into your calendar, ‘THREE MONTHS LEFT 😊’ it’s said. You walked into Lily’s room and shook her awake, making her groan and complain about not wanting to go to school. With one mention of bacon, she gets up and races into the kitchen. You were starting to get used to Bucky being gone but you couldn’t deny having him in your bed when the nights would get cold would be better.
“Becca’s asking if you want to go over to their place?” Her head shot up and gave out a smile of excitement, a mouth full of toast and bacon, “I’m guessing that’s a yes?” She nodded her head.
As you waved goodbye to Lily and told her to have a good day, she gave you a sweet smile that would comfort you even when the weather was so poor. You entered the grocery store, grabbing a basket for the items you would need. When you grabbed the paper wrapped deli meat from the counter and throwing it in your basket, you phone rang loudly enough for people to start looking at you. If it was possible, the clouds got darker and the rain poured harder.
“Hello?” You heard beeping in the background and your heart started beating to the beep,
“Is this Y/N Y/L/N?”
“This is she, who’s this?” You placed your basket on the tile floor of the shop,
“This is Lieutenant Nicholas Fury, you were the emergency contact number on Sargent Barnes’ file other than Captain Steve Rogers.”
“Emergency? What is this about?”
“Well,” he cleared his throat, “while on duty, the station our soldiers were staying at was attacked.” You let out a gasp as the feeling in your gut dropped down to your feet,
“What happened to him!? Is he okay!?” You ran out of the store and felt the rain plaster your skin,
“Ma’am, he’s in critical condition.” It’s like his words entered in one ear and out the other, “Ma’am?”
“I- Oh my god…”
“He was brought into New York City hospital this morning, you’re welcome to see him.”
“Yes, yes, I’m on my way.” You said as your breath quickened.
You arrived at the hospital like time was slow. Like every minute was an hour. Your heart had left itself at the grocery store and had no way of finding its way back to you. You asked the receptionist where Bucky was staying but the room was going so slow and your head was hurting. You just needed to make sure he was fine but the pounding in your ears wouldn’t stop.
You made your way up to Room 203. Upon your arrival, you were met with a tall man, uniform like Bucky’s.
“Miss Y/L/N?” He called out,
“Lieutenant?” He nodded, “Where is he? How’s he doing?” He led you to Bucky’s room where your breath was cut out at the sight in front of you. His nasal cannula secured to help him breathe. The sheets covered his body, shoulders down. You looked up at the Lieutenant, “What happened?”
“The stationed was bombed and,” You slowly peeled the sheet from his body, “Sargent Barnes was affected, he lost his arm.” You brought your palm to your mouth and cried. You tried to get yourself together, wiping away the tear from your face,
“What-” The doctor came in and looked at his vitals before looking at you with sorrowful eyes,
“Mr. Barnes is now stable, he should be waking up soon.” You thanked her as she exited the room. You continued,
“What’s gonna happen now?”
“Doctor Anthony Stark, you heard of him?” You nodded, “He and his team have come up with a new prosthetic.” He looked at you and sighed, “A metal arm, all he has to do is say yes.” He left you in a blank state and you turned back to face Bucky, setting yourself down on the chair next to his bed,
“All you have to do is say yes, baby.” You whispered to yourself.
You were woken up by Bucky’s loud scream. You got up from the chair as fast as you could react and hushed him to calm him down.
“Shhh, shhh, Bucky, baby, you’re safe, it’s over now.” He gripped your wrist tightly, most likely to bruise your wrist, “Bucky- ow! Bucky, i-it’s Y/N!” He opened his eyes and softened his grip when he saw you, “You’re okay, Bucky, we’re gonna be fine.” He pulled you closer and cried, not knowing what else to do.
Things calmed down after Bucky had asked you to crawl into the hospital bed with him. You didn’t know what to say or do, you just held him. The Lieutenant came back to check up on him.
“Sargent Barnes, you have options,” He begins, “Doctor Anthony Stark and his team have offered to help you with a new prosthetic.”
“A prosthetic?” He questions,
“Bucky, it’s only if you want it.” You tell him,
“I’m already a freak with one arm and you’re telling me you’re gonna turn me into a metal armed freak?”
“Bucky, they’re just trying to help.”
“Y/N, no.”
“Sargent-” Lieutenant interrupts,
“I don’t want it!” You climb out of the white sheeted bed and led Nick out of the room,
“Lieutenant, with all due respect, I don’t think he’s ready for this, it’s all too quick.”
“Well with all due respect, we’re just looking out for him.”
“He’s lost an arm, not his brain and his sense of decision making,” you say, “let him decide himself.”
You thanked Natasha for looking after Lily for the past three days and made sure Bucky was settling in alright. You took a peak at the man before you. You saw the light in his eyes had gone and his demeanour changed. He became who he was before you knew who he really was.
“You alright?” You smiled softly,
“That’s kind of a stupid question isn’t it, Y/N?”
“Sorry, yes, I- Shit, I didn’t mean to-” He let out a rough chuckle,
“’course you didn’t Y/N.” He gets up and walks past you to the kitchen. He grabs a drink from the fridge and tries to open it. You walk over to him and grab the can from his hand, “I can do it myself!” grabbing it back from your grip,
“Bucky, you don’t have to go through this yourself,” you take his face in your hand and softly caress his prickly cheek, “I- I’m right here and I’m not going anywhere.”
“I don’t need you.”
“If you’d said that months ago I would’ve believed it but right now? I don’t give a fuck what you say, I’m staying, I promised.” His chest heaved up and down,
“Why? Why do you want to stay? What do you get out of this? You wanna stay with a fucking freak!?”
“You’re not a freak! Stop saying that!” He threw the can across the room, startling you,
“What do you want from me?” He broke down right in front of you, his legs gave out and he sobbed, “I’m not the same, I don’t look the same anymore, Y/N.” You kneeled down and embraced him,
“Let me in, Bucky, that’s all I want,” You didn’t realise you’d started crying too, “tell me how you’re feeling, let me go through this with you, I don’t want you to be alone, I love you, Bucky, I don’t care what you look like, just- Please let me in.”
“I’m sorry, Y/N, I’m so sorry.” He pulled you closer and held you tighter, “I love you, I love you, I’m sorry, I love you.” You held him on the kitchen floor for almost an hour, “I’m- I’m gonna take the offer from Stark.” You kissed him,
“Whatever you want, baby, I’m right behind you.”
