I originally wanted to do more edits on these but at this point I just want folks to see my full Makkaro cosplay! He was a labor of love and I absolutely loved wearing him to Colossal-con this past June, cant wait to wear him out again for a proper photoshoot or smth one day.

The more my year goes on and I deal with more and more bs in my life as a whole the more I appreciate Makkaro fuckin Aetherward. He was always my favorite GBA character for just being a well written, dapper, lovingly villainous wife lover. But more recently he’s kind of become a source of strength for me.

If Makkaro can survive in a black site for 3 years and all of the shit that happened to him during the course of MotH, then I can survive the shit I’m going through.

He’s a character who has survived so much and still manages to come out the other side. Sure he’s beaten and bruised and damaged all to hell. But he’s still alive, and he still gets to have his happy ending.

I can’t wait till I can get to that.

So Geeb if you actually read this far, thanks for Mak. He means a hell of a lot to me.

I present to you all my interpretation of the moment when Makkaro Aetherward becomes a necromancer, breaking free of his chains to go for the kill on those who tormented him...

This one has been planned for a while, but none of the sketches convinced me. I wanted to make a fanart for the part of the chapter when he breaks free and destroys the prison and the Warden, but I after a lot of thought, I found the moment he has his demonic voice for the first time would be the one.

Also there was the design: I used 2002's Count of Montecristo bits of the Chateu D'If to get the idea of how a prissioner would look like, and it fades away all the recognizing traits of Makkaro (long hair and beard that hides the face and all that), so there had to be necromancy playing.

I must say it was painful to draw Makkaro on such conditions, injuried and so thin, but the part where there was magic had the karmic part, so that did some help.

Women People want good, witty, intelligent men, driven to evil by a corrupt system who will do anything for their partner. Including but not limited to; surviving 3 years in an anti-magic prison, raising an army of undead, and capturing god in a misguided attempt to give his partner what they want/what he thinks is best for the world. Who will be driven mildly insane by almost uncontrollable power but will be grounded in the love he has for his partner, even when they fight for the first time in their relationship. Who will eventually realize he was wrong and ask for forgiveness so the two of them can move forward even stronger in their love for one another.

People want Makkaro Aetherward.

ANYWAY IM PROUD ON HOW THIS TURNED OUT IT CAME OUT BETTER THAN I EXPECTED💗💗💗 Do yall love how I did Darling's hair 🔥🔥 (I hc makkaro having some marks and veins on him whenever he used his necromancy, and since this takes time when Makkaro used his necromancy the first time, I imagined the marks and veins took longer time to disappear from his features than usual time)

FORGOT TO MENTION: the reason why makkaro and darling looked like wet rat in here is because their current situation weren't really the best and besides makkaro just escaped a shithole for 2 years so that man would be looked like a dried RAT, while darling prolly lose sleep and had to deal w her shitty fam

Mahan: but master, don't you think it can be possible that plaything of yours has just... run away? Just saying, after all, for what I heard, that one was acting up. Makkaro: are you trying to throw stones to my marriage? Frank: screw him, Mak. The only reason your spouse is "acting up" is because this insane working shift you have lately that keeps you two appart. You two just need to bone. Mahan: (scared noise) Makkaro: ...what did you say? Mahan: (whispers at Frank) don't say it again. Frank: I said you two need to bone. Mahan: (prepares himself with fear) Makkaro: how... dare you, Frank. I. Am. Your. SUPERIROR COMMANDER!! (5 minutes later) Makkaro: (outraged) BONE! (10 minutes later) Makkaro: what happens in my bedroom is NONE of your business! (21 minutes later) Makkaro: (demonic voice with rage) BOOOOOOOOOONE?!?! (40 minutes later) Makkaro: (still demonic voice, but lower, menacing) don't EVER speak to me like that again. Mahan: (slides back down from the column he climbed to in fear with some tears of terror in his eyes) why did you do that? Frank: dude is pent up. Now he knows. Problem solved.
