Ngl, I made the questionable decision of putting my entire phone on shuffle yesterday bc I'm trying to find a good song to vibe with while writing a short fic to recover my OFMD muse and I was hit by some psychic damage when it turned on the Descendants soudntrack's "What's My Name" and I lost about five minutes to my brain imagining an OFMD Descendants AU. (Ed is Uma, Izzy is Harry, Fang or Ivan is Gil, while the Rotten Four is a bit more nebulous and really depends on who you ship with who, but to me I just really want Jim, Archie, and Olu to be a thing so sort accordingly as you will, all I'm sure of is that Lucius is the world's sassiest Jay stand in with absolutely no idea who his parent would be)

All of which to say is: your hyperfixation from six years ago is always ready to bitch slap you in the face. Always be vigilant if you don't want that, or embrace it if you want to feel high without needing to take anything

I tried listening to Olivia Rodrigo and I'm sure this is really good for its target audience of Teen Girls Going Through A Breakup but has she actually ever put out a song that isn't about a guy cheating, breaking up with her and moving on to someone else?

#thinking about shit like this every morning when i wake up after like #spending the past however many hours in part of a high stakes cop drama that takes place in the pokemon world #but my pokemon is actually an elder scrolls character pretending to be a weird rare pokemon because it's easier than passing as human #and the fair we are trying to get through is down a dirt road alley that's also a depressingly empty polynesian farmers market #and we gotta go fast because my irl friend who's with us really wants to have a mantine draped over his shoulders like when he was a kid #but then we find out that the mantine encounter was at the aquarium next to the fair and not the fair itself and he just misremembered #so he's all sad while we're riding go karts and dirtbikes because he doesn't get to play with the mantines #but anyway we were here for the cop drama bit because some teenage girl got assaulted and we need to beat up the perp's pokemon #(perp himself has already been bagged)#and now I'm realizing that I don't know what fake pokemon moves to tell my fake “pokemon” to use #(he's a daedric prince it's not like he'd listen to me anyway he's about to obliterate the fuck outta this sunflora no matter what I say)#which leads me to wondering why I can't think of a decent steel-type pokemon move similar to slash #(“metal claw only works if you have claws” I think to myself wondering why there isn't some kind of sword move like ffs honedge exists)#anyway he's already finished the fight so it doesn't matter we can go home back through the depressing farmers market #home is aboard a KotoR-esque spaceship of course which is good because it means I get “back at camp” dialog with my daedra friend #but he's gone now shit fuck where did he go is he killing people without me this is bad I leave and start walking through crowded streets #people are trying to sell me shit but I ignore them #I'm accosted by a guy dressed like an old-west outlaw who says that he's with the vigil of stendarr and he's here hunting daedra #I tell him to fuck off because honestly I'm no longer invested in this dream's narrative arc #(I'm trying to envision a different scenario that is more appealing to my current tastes but lucid dreaming was a lie and I can't hack it)#then I wake up #next night I dream about being an omnipotent dragon god with a marsupial pouch full of my adopted babies (JJK characters)

Actually full disclosure, not to be a fake Mochijun fan, but the reread I finished this week was the first time I've read Pandora Hearts in its entirety since I was a teenager, and MAN it hits different now that I'm not fourteen.

I don't have the brain capacity to get into all of it now, but man. man. Experiencing the back half of Pandora Hearts with adult eyes and comparing that to your teenage half-memories is a wild time.

It's also very funny that my favorite character went from Oz to Gilbert given that I started reading this series for the first time when I was a year or two younger than Oz, and now I'm Gil's exact age.

#when I was a teen I think my trio favorite ranking was Oz then Gil then Alice #nowadays I think it's Gil then Alice then Oz #I still like Oz very much. but I'm not an angsty teen projecting on his problems anymore y'know?#his whole deal doesn't hit quite as viscerally hard anymore. which is a good sign for my mental health 👍#and with my current tastes and perspectives. Gil has become my funny little guy #pathetic violent protective sweet codependent little freak whose entire sense of self revolves around his intense attachment to a teenager #he activates my study like a bug urge. he's such a mess #I love that dude with my whole heart #and Alice is just an utter breath of fresh air. a joy and a menace #and I find her more serious elements compelling in a way that went fully over my head when I was a kid #anyway long story short. Pandora Hearts good #there's no good reason why it took me so long to reread the series but I'm v glad I finally did #invasion of the frogs

I finally found a place to read Dreamwave and I'm having the time of my life. It's so entertaining and it gives so much depth to characters (sometimes minor characters, sometimes things that downright negate 2003 lore) but it kinda gives more depth to the 03 universe, it even gives extra adventures that werent actual episodes in the series. I'm so mad that it got cancelled after issue 7

Casey's character is so interesting in Dreamwave. April's issue is so fun to read, and gives so much insight into her character. We were robbed

#tmnt #tmnt 2003 #teenage mutant ninja turtles #tmnt dreamwave #april and casey genuinely feel like they have lives outside of the turtles. which is something that didnt feel like in the show itself #hell even caseys brain damage thing altho maybe done in slightly poor taste is interesting if done correctly #and since then i absolutely headcanon 03 casey as having brain damage (it also fits with the h.a.t.e epidose with how his mom behaves)#dreamwave is interesting and fun and it should have had a longer run than it had #some adventures remind me of rise AND I SAY THAT WITH ALL THE LOVE IN MY HEART #the turtles even get to interact with more humans! and i get that 03 was more about them being ninjas/sticking to shadows #but dreamwave said people are good. and not all are going to want to dissect the turtles or call the police on them #tmnt comics #vicky watches tmnt #reads but wathevs

I know its by no means perfect but every time i rewatch it im blown away by just how good Madoka magica is

#its definitely not the first ‘what if magical girls were dark and edgy’ series #if anything id say that was sailor moon considering the final episodes of each season #but god it hits so hard. the characters feel so real and work because they act exactly like teenagers would #when thrust into a horrific situation like that #and kyubey is such a good villain just by way of being so blasé about what matters to humans #and the subtle manipulation of Madoka and trying to turn her against homura as quickly as possible #GOD! god.#ive never watched/played magia record but i might try it once ive finished the os and rebellion #other people: Georgie can you please watch something new. please god broaden your tastes #me: hmmmm. no i think i will watch the same series ive watched countless times before since i was a teenager #I wouldn’t call pmmm a comfort series considering there’s not much thats comforting about it #but good god it hits #every time i watch it i pick up on new stuff #gtxt

I didn't really watch too much TV as a young kid? I liked to mess around with my kit or go fuck around in the forests, for the most part. I started watching stuff more in highschool and college.

Some stuff I enjoy, or enjoyed, off the top of my head- Batman: The Animated Series, Are You Afraid of the Dark?, Buffy the Vampire Slayer...
