He’s married. The cool band of his wedding ring digging into your hip as he grabs at your skin. But he wants you. He told you so himself! His body presses against your back, your hands fisting the sheets as he thrusts into your sloppy pussy. You're gushing all over his cock, eyes rolling back as his hand holds your neck, forcing you to look up at the ceiling as he rests his head against your temple. 

“Fuck, baby. So tight for me, yeah?” He groans into your hair. You nod your head in agreement, whimpering when his cock slams into you. 

Your breathing is heavy, hearts in your eyes as he gives you a hard kiss. He licks and sucks on your skin, marking you as his even though he’s marked by another woman. He won’t let you make him back, keeping your face pinned to the sheets under you as he thrusts deep into you. He pulls you to him, until you're back in flush against his chest. The angle has you finishing in seconds, clamping around his cock. 

“Promise I’ll leave her for you, baby.” Miguel moans as he spills into you, making you believe another one of his empty lies. “Gonna get you a pretty ring to prove it too.”

You collapse on the bed when he lets go of you, your breath coming in heavy pants. Miguel massages your body, helping you calm down when his phone goes off. He pulls out of you, leaving you empty. You push off the bed slowly with your exhaustion, looking as Miguel gets dressed and answers the phone before it stops ringing. 

“Hey, babe. Miss you,” You hear him say into the receiver before he leaves the room, closing the door after him. 

You sigh, tears pricking your eyes as you hear your front door open and close. Silence enters your tiny apartment, your body aching as you pick yourself off the bed. Right before you head to the bathroom, your phone lights up. You run to it like a love sick puppy, hearts in your eyes breaking when you see the message Miguel sent you. 

Don’t forget to take a plan B.

You’re so fucking tired. 

Today has been shit, absolute shit. You almost want to collapse on the floor and start crying when you drop your keys in front of your apartment door. You bend down, tightening your eyes shut to stop yourself. You snatch your keys off the floor, huffing as you aggressively jab it through the keyhole and unlock the door. You slam the door behind you, throwing the keys in the dish near the door as you rip your shoes off. Your feet ache, and all you want to do is watch trashy TV and cuddle with Miguel. You undo the hairdo you did for today, your scalp sighing in relief as you’re able to let your hair down and breathe. You run a hand through your hair, massaging your temple as you walk toward your bedroom. 

You lift your hand to open the door, but you freeze before you touch it. Your eyes pop open, your hand stitching as you hear a… moan from behind the door. Your brows furrow, leaning forward and jolting back when you hear it again. But what’s worse is this time, instead of simply being a noise. It’s a name. Miguel’s name. Almost to confirm your suspicions, you hear the gruff voice of Miguel, groaning as the woman squeals under him. Your hand darts to the door, throwing it opening and turning on the lights in your bedroom. 

The two bodies on your bed stop, turning to your heavy form at the door. The woman under Miguel screams, covering herself up with the sheets as Miguel looks at you with wide eyes. He scrambles off of her, turning to you with excuses already on his tongue. You can't even look at the two of them, shaking your head as you turn away. You can feel the tears you've been holding back all day come to the surface, wiping at your eyes as you rush to the front door and begin putting on the shoes you just took off. Miguel calls after you, grabbing your arm as you go to open the front door. 

You whip around, not even thinking twice before slapping him in the face. His hold on your loosens as his head whips to the side in surprise. You grab your bag and keys, glaring at him as you open the door. 

“By the time I’m back,” you seeth, “You and your whore better be out of my house!”

Miguel doesn’t get any time to respond, his head still reeling from the slap by the time the front door slams behind you.

Update for Sept. 25th, 2024*:

I do try to update the 'coming soon' section of my pinned regularly, but in case you haven't checked that out -

I have been working to finish The Way You Miss Me (titled after a song by All Time Low) - a Fred Weasley x Fem!Reader Exes to Lovers fic where Fred and Reader break up when Fred leaves with George to open the shop in Diagon Alley, and then Reader is called to help with the Seven Potters mission - but she has a terrible fear of heights, to flying on the back of Fred's broom make things terrifying and complicated for her.

I am 8,600 words into a fic I thought would be 10k overall, but I think it's gonna end up being 15k? And my goal for today is to get the fic to at least 10k before quitting for the day. So I am like - a little bit more than halfway done with the first draft.

I think I should have it first draft finished by Sunday or Monday of this upcoming week, writing 1k or 2k a day and not pushing myself to work too hard. And then I'll probably run a poll to decide between some other Harry Potter related ideas and edit it while that poll is running! So I think this fic could be posted right at the beginning of October (this September has felt scarily short omg).

Tulpar (Band Au) Playlist Expansion- Part 3

I can't fix the bullet points im sorry :)

As a late holiday gift, here's the next bunch of song expansions from the Tulapr Band AU playlist that correlates with the AU Im writing! Please enjoy 10 SONGS and the bit of story that goes with it. I'm gonna try and get these stories out, but im also on the fence if I want to do a full fic before I dive too deep on any details :)

Decline (Wide Ire)- A song Jimmy writes during one of his benders, before he goes missing. Of course he’s drinking as he writes it, and at one point he spills his glass of un-iced whisky on the pages, causing the illusion of his letters tumbling down the lines. He scraps it all, sparks a bowl, and starts writing. Sometimes, it’s the only state his creativity allows. As long as he’s high, he can write whatever comes to mind and still have it be coherent the next day. He feels fine as he jots it all down, happy, even. But when he tries to edit it in the morning, he can't touch it for weeks. He paralyzes himself with the need to get high and the need to do better. He gets so overwhelmed that he eventually needs to smoke to calm down

Make Believe (Memphis May Fire)- After a particularly bad break, Curly questions his sanity. The stress is piling on, Jimmy’s still missing, and he’s slowly losing his grip on everything. He works on the song by himself, turning to it when he needs to focus on something in his control. Sometimes he sings it under his breath as a way to ground himself. He know’s it’s his. He knows the reasons these words are in his head, and in a way it brings him back to reality.

When he screams, he screams for hope. Something, anything, to guide him out of the fucking darkness. He has a new way of dissociating: seeing himself in a music video. He feels himself in a tight black box, free to its whims of tossing him in any direction. He feels the cgi on his skin when he fades in and out of frame through another dimension’s video editor. Each time, he reaches for Jimmy. Each time, he hopes he’ll be there on the other side. Each time, he's not there to catch him when Curly falls deeper into the pits of despair. 

Psycho (When I Wake Up) (The Wildlife)- Jimmy’s stupid pinning fucking ass. Before he confesses to Curly. He writes it at the end of freshman year of college when things really kick off with P.E Records. When he fully realizes his feelings for Curly. P.E Records is suddenly demanding a ballot, the band finds it, (“How THE FUCK ARE THE DOING THAT!”) or Jimmy volunteers it when Swansea turns down all their other attempts. Curly is the one that sings it, and it does something irreversible to Jimmy’s heart. 

Jimmy performs this song at an open mic night. Curly follows him, as he has the habit of doing so now, and watches as Jimmy stares right at him in his usual hiding place at the bar. He doesn't break eye-contact, even as Jimmy walks out the side door. But when Curly follows him outside, Jimmy suddenly can't look at him (IM GONNA WRITE IT!!!)

Fine! (Public Theater)- Curly’s stupid pinning fucking ass. Curly writes this after he drops out in Sophomore year to focus harder on their music after they’re signed. He tries to convince himself it's about his band and the people he tries so hard to protect, but he finds when he performs it for the first time he realizes that its about Jimmy. Its always been about Jimmy. He plays it off like it’s a representation of the anxiety they’re all feeling suddenly beginning a career in music, and the story takes. But Curly knows. (Swansea too but he’s too old for that shit lmao)

If You Think This Song Is About You, It Probably Is (Destroy, Rebuild Until God Shows)- Daisuke writes this one! He gets cheated on :( he finds out his partner was sneaking around with someone-- longer brown hair and piercings almost everywhere. Dai is convinced that it's Jimmy- And one day he shows up to practice pissed. Jimmy tries to be supportive, being the first one to ask what's wrong, but Dai explodes, seeing his opportunity to confront him. Jimmy is adamant it wasn't him, saying he was out that night, but his partner's house wasn't where he was. He refused to say where, (he was at Curlys. For gay reasons) and Dai takes it as further proof. Dai throws the first punch, Anya throws the last. She's the one that breaks it up and forces them in other rooms. . Too bad they have a concert that night! (I have ideas to write this out fully, ill update when I do!)

HAMMS IN A GLASS (Winona Fighter)- Anya sings this one on her centric album. Written as a way to express her feelings about her studies and the stress she’s collapsing under (and written after she gets pulled over lmao). She mainly workshops it with Dai before it’s concert-ready. This happens a littler after finals week (not exactly sure in the timeline) and swansea demand the polish it ans get him the finished version at the end of the week. 

The music video is the second released under P.E Records and gets a great buzz going for the name Tulpar. Theri first album only had the budget for one music video, and that was (one ill figure out later sorry)

Mind Rider (Hail The Sun)- A song Jimmy wrote one day when he was feeling particularly horny and lonely. He fantasizes about Curly cheating on his girlfriend with him and has to take (many) pauses to rub one out in the writing process. One day the band finds it (“how the fuck do they keep doing that?? Gotta stop keeping my scraps out even if I wont care for them in the morning”),and knowing their fans are getting increasingly thirsty and would love a sexy song (hi, I’m fans) they polish it and Swansea approves it with no notes (does it help that Curly really plays into it? Why is he so focused on moving his hips?) (I understand the voice of the original singer doesn't really fit Curly or Jimmy, but by god is it a sexy song and the worms demand association) 

Sell My Heart (Whale Bones)- Curly writes this one while Jimmy is missing. He's pining, he's lonely, he's missing his best friend. It's part of the album that becomes a desperate plea for Jimmy to just come back to him. Come back to everything they've been working towards. Come back to me, please. I can't live without my heart. 

The Pantaloon (Twenty-One Pilots)- A song Jimmy wrote when he was younger about his complicated relationship with family. (TOP song is here cause Tulapr started as just two fucking dudes and yes TOP is the model). His parents were separated, in the process of a divorce (or at least really contemplating it), and his dad would never show up for their scheduled outings. He wrote this song on the curb outside of his family apartment and worked on harmonies until the sun set and the air chilled his fingertips enough he couldn't write without it hurting. 

He revisits it after his parent’s death. He’s going through a box of his old things they packed away to make space for an office. In it were a few of his old song-journals and in those journals were the desperate pleas of a child left to find his parents' love somewhere else. They were always too enamored with each other to pay attention to the things they were leaving behind

Shreddy vs Margeret (Ü Blue)- One of the last song’s Jimmy and Curly sing together before Jimmy goes missing :)

Cave In (I The Mighty)- Dai, Anya, Curly, AND Swansea wrote this one after Jimmy disappears. He’s struggling with addiction, pushing everyone he loves away, and limping off into the woods to die like an animal. It’s been years since anyone has seen him and they’re all so desperate for answers they release the song so that by some grace of God he’d show back up. And one day he does. He barges in during practice, sweaty and wet and feeling like a landfill. But they don't care as they all rush to hug him. Anya cries, Daisuke does too, Swansea’s sobbing by himself because he puts himself in Jimmy’s shoes. What if that was him? What if that was Swansea that ran off all those years ago instead of getting sober? He doesn't know if he’s sobbing from relief, or if its because deep down he does wish it was him- except he wishes nothing brought him back. Curly is the only one that doesn’t cry (at least not in front of everyone else) but lets it all out when he takes Jimmy home to clean up and rest. Buuuuut not before Jimmy fucking faints and they take him to the hospital instead [dont worry, ya’ll’ll get your fix in a while :)))]

A scenario in my Coffee Shop DR

I arrive at Spencer’s house after a very long week.

Warnings: Drinking, boys kissing, lowkey a breakdown

Immediately after I’m done at work I go to Spencer’s apartment. It’s been a hard week and it’s finally Friday, I can finally keep him up because he finally doesn’t have work the next day. Thank god.

He answers the door, still in his regular clothes, lacking the blazer and tie. Brown pants, green cardigan, dress shirt.

“Matt? What’s up?” He asks gently, inviting me inside.

“I missed you.” I say gently. “I had a hard week.”

“How come?” He asks, his hands finding my jacket as he helps me slip out of it.

“Just… I don’t really know.”

He knows it’s a lie. He doesn’t press me about it, he knows better than to. I’d just get upset and leave, he’d rather me not be alone when I’m upset.

“Okay, well… do you want to do something? Need anything?” He asks gently.

“You keep the good wine around here somewhere, don’t you?” I ask.

“You don’t think any wine is good.” He teases, pushing the hair out of my face.

“Maybe I will tonight.” I say with a smile. “Please?”

“You sure you’re okay?” He asks, his voice softening as he asks.

“Yeah, I’m just really in the mood to take some edge off.” I force a smile.

“Fine… just, let’s not overdo it, okay?”

He gets the wine and we sit down, sipping quietly. I definitely end up overdoing it. Within about 20 minutes I’m sifting through his records, looking for something to listen to.

“Your music taste is ass.” I giggle. “All classical. Where’s that album I got you?”

“Oh, it’s next to the player.” He says. We’re both slurring our words a little, I’m more drunk than him. Neither of us are surprised about that.

I get up, stumbling over my own two feet as I walk over to the record player. I almost fall, causing me to curse under my breath.

“Ah, found it.” I say, putting it on the player. It takes a second before music starts coming out of it.

The story behind the gift is funny. A few weeks before Christmas last year I had been at Spencer’s, looking at his stuff, and I noticed that he has no good music. So I went out and found my favorite album ever recorded; Grace (legacy edition) by Jeff Buckley. With it, there was a handwritten note.

“Here you go, Spence. The start of good music in your collection. It’s my favorite, you’d better like it.

Love, Matt.”

“I listen to it a lot.” He admits from the couch. I turn to him with a soft smile.

“Yeah?” I say softly. “Glad I got it for you?”

“Definitely.” He smiles. I put on the record, the first song that plays is “Mojo Pin.” I sing along drunkenly. The words are slurred and I’m slightly behind on the words but I know it by heart.

Spencer watches as I dance around his apartment, although, it wasn’t exactly dancing, more so waltzing around the apartment, occasionally throwing my hands up and tripping over my own two feet.

When “Hallelujah” comes on I look at Spencer. I smile forms over my lips and I step toward him, stumbling a little. He isn’t nearly as inebriated as I am, he usually isn’t.

“Spencer.” I say in a singsong tone. “You should dance with me.”

He smiles and lets out a quiet laugh. “What? I can’t dance.” He says, trying his best to get out of it.

“Come on. Please? For me?” I ask.

“Matt, I can’t dance when I’m sober, what makes you think I’m gonna be able to dance when I’m drunk?” He says, smiling up at me. I offer him my hand.

“Then just sway with me.” I say softly.

He rolls his eyes. “I can’t!” He giggles.

By the time he is finally convinced, Jeff Buckley has gotten through almost a minute of the song. I pull him up and I wrap my arms around his waist. He doesn’t know what to do with his.

“Matt, I don’t dance.” He giggles.

“Just hold me. You do that, right?” I say, looking at him with a gentle gaze. He smiles and looks down as he rests his arms over my shoulders.

“Is this good?” He asks.

“This is perfect.” I say gently. I shift forward and rest my head on his shoulder.

Well it goes like this, the fourth, the fifth

As the music progresses, I begin to make more dramatic movements with my body, guiding Spencer’s along with mine. He stumbles and blushes with embarrassment.

“I’m so uncoordinated!” He says. “I can’t do this.”

I smile at him.

“Yes you can, come on.” I say, pulling him back into me. My hands rest on his hips.

“Put your hands here.” I say, and I move his hands to my waist, they wrap around slightly. “Would you like to hold one of my hands or stay like this?”

He pauses for a moment. “Um… Hold hands.”

I giggle and take his left hand in my right. I hold it to the side, near our shoulders.

“I’ll guide you, okay?” I say softly. “Step with your right foot.”

He does, I do it at the same time. He smiles at me. I tell him to move his left and he does.

Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew you

He’s finally starting to get the hang of it, although, he accidentally steps on my feet every so often. We laugh together.

“You’re doing great.” I say softly.

“Am I?” He sounds like he absolutely does not believe me. “I keep stepping on you and I’ve never danced before in my life-“

I kiss him to interrupt him. The movement stops.

“That’s why I’m teaching you.” I whisper when the kiss finally ends. His face is red. “Come on. Left… right…”

I guide him and we dance in circles around his living room.

And I’ve seen your flag on the marble arch, and love is not a victory march. It’s a cold and it’s a broken hallelujah

Our dancing has slowed. It’s turned more into a standing hug. My face is buried in his shoulder and his hand is on my head, gently playing with my hair.

“Matt?” He asks, his voice is gentle.

“Hm?” I ask gently.

“It’s not healthy to drink away your problems.” He says gently. “I’m not trying to tell you how to live or anything. Just…”

“I know.” I say quietly. My hold on Spencer tightens, just a little. “I don’t know what else to do. There isn’t anything to talk through…”

“That’s okay.” He whispers. “This was fun though, right?”

“Mhm.” I admit.

Hi Crystal! Your timing is perfect, and I'm gonna combine these to ramble about my topic of the evening: Justice League Unlimited plays Wolfen and Warlocks

Some of the stone elementals charged forward to throw punches. Others cracked and split the ground, making it harder to approach them by foot. The biggest one, guarding the portal, created a ring of spikes to better protect it.

And Clark’s friends proved exactly why an RPG was the best choice for them to play, rather than a card or board game.

Wally annoyed different targets into following him into range of Diana’s fists. John pinned others in place for Shayera to strike and destroy. Clark and J’onn cast magical shields and restored health points, keeping everyone else moving, and when Bruce’s fairy reached the others to share what he’d learned about the portal’s crystal power source, the seven of them formed up seamlessly to go after it.

Even better, they all clearly had fun doing so.

And *I* had *immense* fun writing this nonsense, okay?

Picking out races, abilities, and stats for each of the seven, figuring out how to balance them against one another through the game encounter, picking the exact worst possible moment for Bruce roll a 1 and almost hit Wally's character instead of the final boss, which he is absolutely never going to live down, that's gonna become the running joke for however many chapters this thing goes:

Flash: "You missed! He was three feet in front of you, how could you miss-!"

Batman: "Shut. Up."

Flash: =D

But of course I've already determined how I'm going to have more fun with it, by bringing in Zatanna to play Storymaster so Clark isn't pulling double duty. And she gets invested, my dudes, full on spooky voice reading the intro blurbs, using magic to make a veil of mist around her spot at the table, bringing the map and character tokens to life for a bit of flair, so on and so forth

There will be other superheroes who get interested. Further interactions in twos and threes as the game spreads through the League. Robin hears about all this and pesters Batman to teach him to play, and between the two of them at home it basically turns into an extra training exercise, Bruce making use of the 'solve a mystery' aspect woven into most pre-made campaigns to teach Tim some more detective skills (this being the DCAU and not comics continuity)

I might even have Alfred insist on hosting one night, just so he gets to lay eyes on Bruce opening up his walls bit with friends- sorry, *cough*, colleagues. Tim will of course get to join in, and does NOT hesitate to grab the "You Missed!" joke and run with it like the little gremlin he deserves to be. Dick and Babs will be beyond delighted when he lets it slip to them as well >:D

And this is like. Full circle, for me. Rather emotional, when I think about it.

Few years back I was writing a scene for a story in a whole other fandom, and decided the kid main character and his best friend needed to be distracted from ongoing misfortune in the form of a new adult friend teaching them to play a D&D knockoff game. I didn't want to use *actual* Dungeons and Dragons, because where's the fun in that, but I felt I needed some actual Thing to use as reference rather than purely winging it. And thus, Wolfen and Warlocks was born.

Now, rather than making things up as I went along for that fic, I've got the Actual Game to reference, or at least all the materials meant for the first edition of it. Not put together or published, yet, but that's only because I'm still beta testing with the help of various friends - including @yogurtbear242, Player The First who gave the best reactions to unexpected developments and was an all around good sport despite not ever having played a tabletop rpg before, in-person or online:

"Slash: [Sam Kinison and I] got into a really big fight. It was real violent, and Duff punched him out, the cops were involved, too, and it was a big deal.

Stern: Who won the fight though? Who could beat up who? I bet you could take Sam in two seconds.

Slash: Well, no. He actually – I don’t want to... Duff punched him out. He gave him a black eye. But, before that, he was sitting on me. And I had no way of getting out, because he had my elbows pinned down. I couldn’t get my arms up, you know?

Stern: How did he get you down on the floor?

Slash: He jumped me from the blue and just landed on my chest. I was gonna be dead. He was choking me. I was history. I was, like, sitting there going, 'I’m going out this way? I can't believe I’m gonna go out this way.'

He just showed up at my hotel room one night. I didn’t even – you know, a knock on the door and, like, it’s Sam, and I’m like, 'Okay.'

And so he got on my case about all this stuff, and he called me a dickhead. And I got pissed off and I jumped off the bed, and I didn’t expect him to react the way he did. And I turned my back – you know, I turned around for a second – and he just jumped on me.

He got me by the throat and my arms were underneath his knees. And I was like, 'Oh, this is it. I’m going out.'

Robin: And then Duff came to the rescue.

Slash: Then Duff woke up in the other room.

Stern: Hey, you owe Duff, man. I’ll tell you, that’s kind of funny, too. And leave it to Sam to jump Slash from behind. I mean, that is a low blow. That’s not right.

Slash: I was just this little guy with no clothes on. I mean, cuz I was in bed when he came."

Additional details, related quotes, & discussion:

The first quote is from Duff's autobiography, obviously. The "big, drunk guy" in question was Chris Holmes of the band W.A.S.P. Slash's autobio (2007) recounts the incident somewhat differently:

"One time at the Rainbow I got into a fight with Chris Holmes from W.A.S.P. Duff overheard Chris saying that n*****s shouldn’t play guitar. He didn’t say it to me, but it was obviously about me. As I remember, Duff told me about it later and the next time I saw Chris I went up to confront him and he took off running. Aside from insulting me, it’s one of the more ridiculous and untrue things a musician, of all people, could ever possibly say."

Aside from the obvious discrepancies in their versions of events (pretty much par the course for rocker autobios... Chris Holmes has shared his own take as well and rest assured it's very different), it's interesting to compare how they described their responses. Slash glosses over the fight entirely, he almost makes it sound like he was going to "confront" Holmes by giving him a lecture on the history of rock music – the last sentence is by far the most emotionally charged.

Duff's account is just shy of a brag, his sense of righteousness is evident.  Fighting is a significant theme in his book, Duff chronicles his journey from scrapping with school bullies, to drunkenly picking fights, to discovering martial arts in sobriety:

"Those beatings were also probably a factor in why later I would see red every time I perceived a wrong done to me or someone close to me and would fight at the drop of a dime. Justifiably or not, I saw myself as the protector, and the street-fighting skills I was forced to learn while getting my ass kicked as a teenager meant that I was not reluctant to perform that role with my fists."

"From then on, I wanted to kill anyone who crossed me at any club or concert. In my mind I was still fighting for righteous reasons—not just to hurt people but to protect, to make bullies stop doing bad things. But it’s pretty clear in retrospect that I was taking out aggression about the situation with the band. I would find offense in the stupidest little things and then I’d just flip and go street."

Slurs aren't a trivial offense, but we can see how Duff's protectiveness has been both a strength and weakness at times. In this scenario, Slash is "someone close," and Duff is eager to assume the role of his protector.

The second passage is in excerpt from an unaired interview (1990) transcribed in Mick Wall's biography of GNR, a secondary source. (That is, the more recent biography he wrote about GNR, not the one that supposedly earned him a scathing mention in UYI II's Get In The Ring.)

Anyway, Duff was a little less eloquent in 1990, but the pride he takes in standing up for himself and his friends is consistent.  He mentions a time he defended Slash against an aggressor, and I wonder if the incident with Chris Holmes is the one he's referring to.  Whether it was the same event or a different one, Duff's statements in this interview are certainly in line with the behavior he described in his book.

Slash's sarcastic comment made me laugh – I couldn't say for certain if he meant it in good (or self-deprecating) humor, or if he was getting a little miffed by the way Duff was characterizing him as someone who needs defending. I also included his last line because it seemed to me like he was trying to change the subject – while Duff could have happily gone on, perhaps Slash was conscious of playing into the dumb drunk rocker stereotype, something both of them have a history of struggling against. He’s also conspicuously not jumping at the chance to chime in and tell the world what he’ll do if anyone tries to mess with them.

The third excerpt might call for a little more context: Sam Kinison was a comedian and a friend of Slash's who passed away shortly before this interview. Earlier in the interview, Slash described how he was supposed to make a guest appearance in one of his shows, and Kinison didn't take it well when he had to cancel. 

This incident was never talked about much — as far as I know Duff never publicly shared his version of events — but another guest (comedian Andrew Dice Clay) on the Stern show recounted a phone call with Duff about the incident prior to Slash's interview:

"So, he's choking him to death, and the girl that Duff is with wakes Duff up, and she goes, 'I'm not sure, but I think somebody's killing Slash.'"

I wonder if the girl was the same one who was with him in Duff's chat with Howard Stern from around the same time. Slash said it happened in San Francisco, Clay said it happened at the Chateau Marmont in L.A., and Duff didn't specify, but I wouldn't put money on the accuracy of that detail in any of their accounts.

Anyway, this excerpt is a little different than the other two.  It has less to do with Duff's protector complex — instead we can examine the way that Slash talks about a fight, where in the previous examples he tended to dodge the subject.

I edited the excerpt for readability (and I made pretty significant cuts, so click the link above if you want the full picture), but this was an interesting conversation all around.  It's a bit awkward, because while Slash and Stern are ostensibly sharing memories of their mutual friend, Kinison is clearly the antagonist in Slash's story.  Slash didn't really react much to Howard Stern's enthusiastic assertions that Slash could take Kinison in a fair fight, and while he made a point of explaining that he was caught off guard, he seems pretty content to tell the story as it was: he got his ass kicked.

The way Slash talks about himself ("just a little guy with no clothes on"!) leads me to believe that his comment about "[hiding] in the crook of [Duff's] knee" in the Wall interview was meant as a self-deprecating joke.  He seems comfortable characterizing himself as harmless and nonaggressive, perhaps even uncomfortable with the idea of playing up his prowess.

Slash doesn't mention too many altercations in his book, but he does describe one friendly brawl with Nikki Sixx:

“[...] but I do remember doing what I always liked to do when I was drunk—wrestle some guy who was much bigger than me. In this case it was Nikki, whom I tackled, bar stool and all, out of nowhere. Nikki is pretty tall, and at that time he was pretty heavy, too, so he ended up turning it around: he slammed me on my back and sat on me.”

He goes on to explain how he passed out and woke up to find that he'd "dislocated four vertebrae in his back" and, to add insult to injury, he got teabagged by Tommy Lee.

Obviously we're working with a small sample size here, but like with Duff, we're starting to get a consistent picture.  Slash's tales of getting into fights are distinctly lacking a certain rock-n-roll bravado. His accounts aren't very serous, he comes across as terrible in a physical fight and he doesn't seem to care.

All of this isn't necessarily to say that Slash didn't get in fights – just because he doesn't like talking about it, doesn't mean it didn't happen.  But he's also made it pretty clear that he doesn't consider himself a violent person.

“I hate violence. At our shows, people hit each other and throw things, and I don’t know why. I love the energy of it, but everyone needs to be considerate of those around them, and that usually doesn’t happen.”

I don't have a source for that quote, so take it with a grain of salt if you choose.  Either way, you get the picture.  Slash is an image-conscious guy, yes, but he's not overly into fighting (or arguing, or yelling... but that's another set of quotes) and he doesn't try to pretend to be.  It's not an image he's actively trying to project (perhaps one he's trying to avoid?) — but in some ways it's one he was labeled with anyway, thanks to GNR's reputation.

Clearly I have a lot of thoughts on this, but I'm going to put a pin in it here because honestly, I think it would be pretty presumptuous to try to make too strong of a claim about the personalities of two real people that I don’t know based on just a handful of quotes (from questionably reliable narrators...). All I’m trying to do here is show a pattern, and to point out the contrast between the respective ways that Slash and Duff view/talk about physical conflict.

When Duff talks about fighting, it's important to him: he fought to deal with his emotions, he fought to protect the people he cares about, and he fought to get sober. When Slash talks about fighting, he laughs, makes a self-deprecating comment, and brushes it off. Duff wants to project that he’s more than capable of defending himself and others, Slash prefers to distance himself from the topic. It's interesting to see this juxtaposition in their relationship, and the way it translates into Duff acting protective of Slash.

for context, keita/raze (he/him) is my irl partner. he's been a simp for alucard (castlevania) longer than i've begun simping for strahd. i only discovered this years into the relationship when we watched castlevania (where i expected to be a bigger simp for castlevania), and instead HE made high pitch simping noises as alucard appeared on the screen and i was like -sus eyes- wait a GOSH DARN MINUTE-. also, keita has a thing for necks. i shrugged it off when he first told me, but years later i started simping for strahd and now i look back at that moment like 'hm. odd.-'. anyways, i mostly started dating him because he sounds like a kermit the frog southern guy who goes 'howdy howdy' and he says 'i should be golden' unironically and i think thats pretty funny

Demons and Demigods Background!

Some warnings/preface before I get into the actual au: I have a potty mouth and therefore so do the characters. I love using the fuck word.

As the blog title states, I do put the characters through The Horrors arguably worse than canon. So. Please keep that in mind, also I am a big fan of dark!percy and making demigods a little eldritched (mostly percy tho) so expect a lot of morally gray (at the very least) actions on Percy's part and violence and gore more spn canon level than pjo canon level

Also, I do fuck around with timelines as I wish even if it doesn't make much sense bc I am the god of this world and Chuck's got nothing on me 😈

I make a number of changes to how spn s1 plays out and also smush the entirety of spn seasons 1 , 2, and most of 3 into the ~8-10 months during which hoo takes place. Like I said, I fuck severely with the timelines.

This au starts in the time between tlo and tlh where Percy has just gone missing, and picks up right after the pilot for spn

I haven't made it that far yet, but this au will be Destiel bc I'm down bad <3

Anyway,

Sally is Mary's younger sister. They were always close growing up, and both decided to quit hunting.

Percy is six years younger than Sam! (Sam is 22 in the pilot, and Percy is 16 when he goes missing.)

Percy disappears and Annabeth tells Sally that he's missing right after Jess dies. Oops. (Yes, I know the timelines don't match up but I don't care <3)

Everything else I'll get too into, so I'll post the rest of the set up separately!

I have some scenes fully written for this au and a lot of hand-wavey transition shit written down, too.

5. Underrated ship: gonna go with elmax again for this one. Or Keg Boys. I feel like they don't get as much love as they deserve.

6. Overrated ship: normally I would say steddie, but I also love them, too, so I'm gonna say ronance. I can see it, but at the same time... meh?

7. One thing I would change in canon: a lot of the random, unneeded deaths. Bob, Billy, Alexei, Benny, Barb, Chrissy? I feel like none of those needed to happen for the plot to move along, and even if they did, like they didn't have to make them like an "Oh well, they're dead :/" thing. Like, they didn't deserve that. And even if they didn't do that, the way the other characters reacted to the deaths was kinda shallow, too. Like Nancy losing Barb would broken my heart a lot more if they didn't use her mourning as a plot device to make her lose Steve and hook up with Jonathan.

8. Something canon did right: the character dynamics. The way they had the kids fighting over petty shit while bad things were happening, how Dustin didn't have a dad so he latched onto Steve as an older brother type positive influence, the way Hopper had to get used to being a dad again and ask Joyce for help? All of that was just beautifully done.

9. A thing I'm proud of creating for the Fandom PLEASE BRAG ABOUT YOURSELF I WANT TO SEE/READ YOUR ART: All of my works on Ao3, but probably my favorite (at the moment) is my fic So Give Him Inches and Feed Him Well or my six fic series Cool To Hate.

10. A character who is perfect to me (wouldn't change a thing): Max, Lucas, Dustin and Will. They're all so sweet and funny and I love them.

11. The character I relate to the most and why: normally I would say Billy, but lately it's been more Max. She's stuck in a house with a jerk of an older brother who goes off like a volcano over the littlest things, though most of the time he's dormant unless he wants to annoy her, and she has to witness him and the only father figure she has fighting all the time. Getting into screaming matches, sometimes getting physical, and while in my situation it's more the son causing problems for the father, it's still bad. The only reprieve I get is when I'm out with my friends, and even though I still care about both of them, I'm starting to lose that love for one of them (in her case Neil, in my case my brother) because of how they treat everyone else and acts like everything is normal afterwards.

12. The character I hate the most and why: Karen Fucking Wheeler. How she can go from being a concerned, doting mother in season one to pretty much a sexual predator in the span of a few seasons, I'll never know. I could understand if she cheated on Ted and went after someone her own age, but the fact that she went after a boy no older than her daughter just makes me sick. And yes, Billy flirted with her, too, but come on. He's a misguided 17-18 year old abused kid looking for any kind of affection wherever he can get it. And Karen is the adult. She should fucking know better.

13. Something I've learned from the fandom: How to politely disagree with people and kill them with kindness. That's why I have an anti's ask pinned to the top of my blog, because I want people to know that I don't care who or what they like, so I'll respect them, but if they come onto my blog actively trying to start shit, I will not fucking stand for it :)

oh my god thank you so much!!! i just love it when lost fans come by here to say me they love seeing activity on the tag again and they say my gifs made them rewatch the show (i can't check tags cause ✨spoilers✨) it's shocking to see there are very few people who actually gif popular shows like lost, breaking bad etc. and i've even realized there are not any marvel fans anymore like it used to be, i don't know how i feel about this, but i'm glad to contribute 🥹

that's so great! <3 it's so great to see people are still rewatching it after 19 years because that's what this! show! deserves! i didn't know what it was about and after i read it, i said "a plane crashed on an island and some people survived? eh it's not that interesting and so cliche" and later my brother watched it and he was literally obsessed with it and he was very pissed off that i was constantly putting it off. so i started and the first two episodes were the most intense and chaotic episodes i've ever watched in any series 😬 so as i keep watching, i realized i love mystery series (which was sth i've noticed about myself) and i absolutely love science fiction and psychological series. it was so hard to keep so many character's name in mind at first and you know better than me, there are SO many details in such random places that i bet, most people didn't even notice in the first watching 😅 it's like, the smallest thing you saw in a random episode of s1 turns out to be something much bigger in a random episode of s3 etc. 😅 so since i can't see all of the easter eggs, i watch it with my brother mostly who has seen it 3 times and after finishing the eps he says "did you notice that" and then he goes "look there are numbers right there and there's hurley on the tv of the people jin went to kill" etc. 😅 but you know, this series is magnificent and full of surprises and it always ends with killer cliffhangers and now i'm on mid s3 and desmond started to keep saving charlie's ass, i've seen ben and his people, i feel like i'm really into the show and the scifi part of it 😅 i don't know how it will all fit together, you know, everytime roll credits, i'm like "i dunno what i've just watched and how it's gonna play out by the end but it's freaking exciting" 😅 i'm really glad that i'm watching lost at 22 because lost is mostly about life itself, good memories, regrets, personalities, sins and grace, there's always a moral of the story in the end. so, if i had watched it when i was little, i probably wouldn't understand a shit. but now i feel a little more mature and i've been through a few things so the character's stories are a bit more relatable now.

so what i'm most curious about is that, now i'm on mid s3 and i found out claire's father is WHO!!! The two of you would compliment each other really well! Aster does tend to get incredibly caught up in his own head— even disregarding the mission to avenge his father, his own thoughts tend to overtake him, and he’s not usually aware enough to reach out to someone and catch his spiral before it stops. Being able to come home to you would be so good for him; you’re just so soft and comforting, how can his dark thoughts creep up on him if you’re pinning Sanrio decorations in his hair? Sometimes a man just needs his girlfriend to paint his nails so she can judge if this new polish color is good or not. Besides, he can learn to be goofy too— need I mention the Schmaden Schmooki incident.

He’s got more than enough money to support you comfortably, and damn does he love to; you’ll never have to work a day in your life if you don’t want to. Even if you do decide to keep a day job, Aster is going to spoil you anyways— he listens well when you’re talking about upcoming merch drops for your favorite shows, and he’s already well-acquainted with the desperate hunt for rare collectibles, so he’s not gonna stop until you’ve got that limited-edition figure from several years back. Plus, with his money and family name, you can absolutely expect to be flown out to fashion shows all over the world; he refuses to schedule his own duels for those nights, because he’d much rather sit next to you in the crowd and watch your face light up as each model strides down the catwalk. How else is he supposed to know which dress to get you, after all?

After the life he’s lived, Aster would love nothing more than to get lost in mundane domestic things. He doesn’t mind the eternal struggle to get your space organized; he’d let you have as many rooms in the mansion as you want for that exact reason. It’s good that your space is overflowing with the things you love. Although he will admit to himself— the battle with your alarm clock is one of his favorite things to watch. He’s an early riser himself, so he blinks awake with the dawn and rolls over to watch the way your face scrunches up when your alarm goes off. You’re always so quick to silence it and fall back asleep— a part of him knows he should probably wake you, but you deserve the rest. Even if you are sleeping past 10 every day.

The main issue I could see here would be the love languages. Aster has trouble voicing good things about people; on a logical level he understands you’d prefer compliments, but he’s not used to giving those, and most of the ones he’s received over the years are superficial so he doesn’t even have much of a baseline to draw from. How can mere words ever be enough to encapsulate how much he feels for you? You’ll have to be patient and guide him through what you want to hear, and he’ll pick it up eventually— you’re important to him, so he’ll learn to put his pride aside and voice how much he appreciates you, even if his feelings go beyond words.

This Week In "Time & Again" #6: Unfortunately, Lothar.exe Has Stopped... 😅 And An Important Announcement

Whoa, it's been a while! Here goes my initial intention to post consistently, lol. 😅 But let me tell you more about what has been going on lately.

Time sure flies - especially during the pre-Christmas time. Having a lot of fun and getting extra inspirations at work is definitely wonderful! You've already seen my To-Do list for the rest of December, and I'm glad to report that majority of those goals is complete! 🥳 And very soon I will present you a certain new art piece - the very one I've been working on in the last few days. I must admit I am very excited!.. Unfortunately though, it's not related to "Time & Again" in any way possible, so I'll stop bragging about it right this once - instantly, perhaps faster that the instant noodles are cooked.

With all of those life and other art activities, I must admit, the work on "Time & Again" itself has not moved very far ahead... as of now. I still have only a few pages left in Chapter 5 to draw the black and white lineart. Yep, I've been temporarily distracted by the other things that were needed to be done, in both life and art. Currently I'm hoping to finish up the lineart by the end of December. Unfortunately, the development of Chapter 5 has stretched out across time (and possibly space, too); originally I was planning on releasing the latest chapter this year, and that would've been an excellent Christmas gift for all of you (says I, with enormous cynicism - for those very few of you who know what I'm talking about are sure frightened rather than jollied). My art schedule included a somewhat steady release of approximately 2 chapters per year - I would definitely strive to uphold that within the next upcoming years. But life's unpredictable sometimes, so one can never know how it's really gonna unfold, especially given you're a married and working adult 🤓 However, there's not room for disappointment at all! Sleeping on it and ruminating more on the matter, I think I've come to conclusion that, in the end, it might be better the way it is: it's probably nicer and more polite if I release this... bloody chapter after the jolly and happy Christmas time. Because... Well... You'll see soon enough by yourselves.

There's one more important thing to note. I highly encourage you to go to GlobalComix - which is the home of "Time & Again" online release - and read the whole thing or selected chapters from it before something else mysterious happens to it... "How come?! What happens?!", I hear ye saying. And let me tell you: it's gonna be something BIG. So here goes:

I'm planning to release slightly updated versions of Chapters 1 to 4 packed with additional notes, commentary, and easter egg deciphering for the clearer reading experience. It also means that the older editions that are available right now are gonna be turned into "legacy editions" (for archival purposes, let's say), and therefore they will be PERMANENTLY REMOVED from both GlobalComix and Itch pages, to be exchanged with the updated versions.

For this reason, I made "Time & Again" COMPLETELY FREE TO READ on GlobalComix right now until further notice AND the release of the updated editions. So suit yourselves 😁 See the links in the post pinned to the very top of my blog and 👉here👈.

(The PDFs on Itch, however, will stay at their regular, full price, for they come in extra high quality. As already mentioned, they will also be later removed from their pages, so if you would like to get acquainted with the "legacy editions" - NOW is the time. Get them from here; they are $4 CAD each... for now, but I might make a discounted bundle to honour the upcoming updated edition, so stay tuned)

Meanwhile, I must mention the newer, updated editions are not going to be completely overhauled and turn into something totally different, no. Most extra additions and corrections are going to be made in the bonus materials section, and it will also undergo an extra session of proofreading in order to remove typos and wording that is far too convoluted. However, there indeed will be tiny little additions to the main dialogues, too - only in a handful of selected spots that awkwardly slipped my attention and needed to be perfected.

That, of course, will be another little "Verbesserung" sub-project of mine for the next year. And I already started working on refining certain points in already existing chapters. That's for certain: you won't be disappointed 😉

But now, in order to keep up with the usual format of blog posts on the progress with my precious "Time & Again", I'll share some more technicalities with you. There's something curious I wished to share with you for a while now.

Back in the day, we used to have that little Sticky Notes app in Windows - if I'm not mistaken, it was included into the standard installation package alongside with the other convenient apps well-known for the most Windows users. I used it for a while, for, at times, I really enjoyed to just "pin" my lil artistic to-do list down to the desktop so that I could always see what I needed to do. Perhaps, strange to hear that from an old-school person who is a great fan of pen/pencil and paper - but having notes attached to my desktop really worked well for me, for your humble artist practically never opened her notebooks to even check the hand-written to-do lists 😅. So yes, Sticky Notes worked well!.. ... in theory. And unfortunately, it worked only in theory, because it ended up doing things I was very discontent about - usually it enjoyed failing to load my notes on startup despite having it on in the settings. That was getting on my nerves, so I finally decided to let Sticky Notes go and to find the open source alternatives to suit my tiny wee requests and caprices. At first PNotes caught my eye - but alas, I had to get rid of it, for I had trouble with the quirkiness of the interface and extremely weird issues with the notes autosaving (?!) - which practically defeated the purpose for me.

But shortly after I found Simple Sticky Notes and I enjoy it immensely every single day now 😁 It has enough customization, super easy to use, simple and neat functionality to it, and most importantly - it works. It loads on startup just as requested - and it even saves all the changes to the notes in an instance. Wunderbar!

Here's an example of what my desktop memos look like right now, using Simple Sticky Notes:

As you can clearly see, the formatting of the notes is simple, appealing, and useful. It makes me truly happy that my notes are organized well. Something that needs to be especially kept in mind is highlighted. A memo on the content of Lothar's gun holsters is there, too, because it would be funny to mess it up and draw the wrong pistols in the wrong holsters (unless he secretly juggles them when nobody's watching... but I doubt that this German sir wants to bother himself with a nonsensical show-off such as this - even though my imagination is quite entertained with the picture). "Notes & Commentary" is, indeed, intended for the updated edition mentioned above. For now, I've only had time to complete that section for Chapter 1. And to my surprise, it had way more references and easter eggs than I remembered! And every single one of them was noteworthy.

So this is how my artistic workplace is organized.
