The look in the mirror, nothing more than a tired reflection of him, staring in the distant. Johnny always knew that his job was hard. That it was full of vicious events repeating one another. But he always came back, especially after he found a reason to which to return to.

"Can I help you?", you asked him with your sweetest smile. He only stood there, literally staring at you. When he was on leave, he always dropped by the traditional bakery in his hometown. Mr. Kringle would already know what he ordered. It was always the same, a pair of the fudge brownies with white chocolate inside and a regular coffee. He didn't expect to be greeted by a new face. "Uhrm. Can ye recommend something?" He suddenly sounded so insecure. So, unlike his physical appearance. Your eyes trailed over the different things separating the two of you behind the glass. "I do fancy these. They're sweet but not to over the top and go perfectly with a black coffee." You explained softly pointing at the baked goods. He didn't even look at them, his eyes are pinned at your soft features. Trying to burn every feature in his brain and he only nodded. "Would you like anything else?", you said soothing while packing his order with such a careful and lovely manner. "Yer number." He was so straightforward, his voice much more confident and you couldn't help the blush growing on your cheeks. Of course, you gave him your number.

He changed; the last mission was harder. Harder than he ever thought, because for the first time he had the feeling, the fear, of not returning. And somehow, he didn’t. A part of him stayed there. They still hold your scent. It is the only thing that keeps him sane. It is the only thing that lulls him to sleep. He wasn’t able to change those sheets since he returned.

"I like the green ones. They complement the lights when the sun rises.", you chimed while holding the fabric in your delicate fingers. "Whatever yer want, mo ghraidh." [my love] he placed a soft kiss onto the crone of your head. "Johnny.", you exhaled jokingly annoyed. "What?" - "It's gonna be your home too, you can't let me decide everything.", you said while placing the sheets in the shopping cart and hooking your arm around his. He only smiled at you. His eyes return to the image in the mirror. He adjusts the bow tie around his neck. Smoothing out some wrinkles in the suit he wears. He hates suits. Especially this one.

"Bloody ‘ell, MacTavish. It isn't that hard to pick a damn suit.", Simon exhaled annoyed while Johnny puts on what feels like the millions suit. "It has to be perfect. Alright?!", he yelled from the changing room where he just fought with those tight pants. Maybe he gained some muscles again and should buy a larger one. You definitely wouldn't mind. "She isn't marrying the suit; she is marrying ya. And that is already a miracle itself mate.", Simon explained while scrolling through his phone. Johnny paused his movements and grins like a mad man. Bended over he looked in the tiny mirror in front of him, but not at himself. More like in the distant. " 'm gonna marry her.", his voice is filed with pure sincerity.

His fingers run over the side of the bed where you always slept. The mattress still having an imprint of your figure where you were lying all the time. The spot he now sits down and would just love to be swallowed by the soft mattress.

"Love...", you exhaled only above a whisper. He only pushed him closer into you, his head resting on your chest and counting your heartbeat while trying to steady his own. You absently let your hand play with the strand of his hair. "It’s alright. I’m here with you.", you chimed in your sing song voice. He only nuzzled his head further into you while squeezing your sides. "I love ya, bonnie." You only kissed the top of his head. “I love you too.”, he closed his eyes again and drifted away once more.

His eyes trail over to the window. Showing a little garden. It was neatly organized. Flowers blooming everywhere. The ones right in front if the window, they were your favorites.

"MacTavish, you're an unbelievable idiot.", you cried out while cleaning the mud from your face. He wrapped his arms around your waist, hands full of dirt. "And all yours, my dear.", he chimed while picking you up and swirling your around. Holding you close in his embrace. "Forever, yours.", he repeated softly before letting your lips meet his. You cupped his cheeks, but mostly to get revenge. Greasing the mud all over his face, just like he did a few minutes before. "Ya gonna regret that." He snickers, while you pulled out if his embrace and started running away from him. The laugh never ending while he chased you and pulled you down into the still wet grass and planted kisses all over your face. It was his favorite melody.

He pushes himself up from the bed and goes downstairs. Simon is already here, as well as Kyle. He looks at them, wearing those suits he knew too well. They look back at him. Their faces wear a weak smile, and Johnny only nods before his eyes drift over to the kitchen to the right.

"Bonnie, we have guests.", Johnny yelled out while entering your house. You walked downstairs to greet his teammates. "Nice to see you again. Tea?", you chimed while heading over to the kitchen and pulling the kettle down from the shelf. "I still think ya don't deserve her, Soap.", Kyle said while following you. "When yer hold hostage blink twice.", he said looking at you, and Johnny just pushed him gently in the side. "Ya can always call, when he does something stupid.", Simon assured you. Pulling out their usual mugs from the shelf above you. "So, you mean like all the time?", you asked jokingly. You all laughed. During these times the world seemed alright.

It's silent. The two men only look at him, nodding silently. Johnny swallows hardly before heading outside to Simon's car. The taller man taking the driver’s seat. Johnny sinks int the passenger seat and closes his eyes.

"You won't drive. Please you're way too battered, love.", you pulled him away from the driver’s seat and he lets you. Simon gently took the keys out of Johnny's hand. "Aye. But you dae wanna make out with me still. Eh?", his walk was sloppy as you helped him in the backseat, still wearing the smile you fell in love with in the first place. Kyle took the passenger’s seat in the front. "Always." You placed a quick peek on his cheek while securing the seatbelt before moving into the car next to him. Reaching out for his hand.

The men climb out of the car and head right into the church. With every step forward it grows heavier. Johnny wants to run away. He wants to turn away. Simon and Kyle are right behind him. Simon’s hand lingered on his shoulder. His face is serious, but never cold.

"Finally satisfied?", Kyle asked in a mocking tone. "I hope so.", Simon exhaled quite annoyed. They wore the suits Johnny picked out and they stood in front of a mirror. Johnny nodded. "She's gonna love it.", he beams in happiness and even Simon couldn't suppress the smile growing at his lips.

They enter the church you loved so much. Everything seemed so pretty. Too pretty. The place is decorated in your favorite flowers. Your friends and family are all gathered together. A man walks up to the front and starts a speech.

"I just can't put all my feelings for her in a minute speech. How is this supposed to work?!", he panicked and Simon scoffs. "Just imaging what you really want her to hear. A few things you always wanted to say to her but never found the right time to.", he stated calm. Kyle and Johnny looked at him in disbelief. "That could actually work." - " That’s why I am yer best man..."

So, he stands up straight and starts his speech. Hands gripping tight on a little paper in his hands. Every word is heavy on his tongue, but he manages to push through and holds the tears back. "I never realized how lost I was in this world until I looked into your eyes. In those pretty eyes I found my home. And when I heard your voice for the first time, I heard my future. I committed myself completely and only to you, and I would do it again and again. Forever yours.", his voice goes quiet. Nobody of the guests would really understand his words, but you would. That is the only thing that matters. His heart is shattered into pieces as he places a ring down into the earth. A ring you was meant to wear. A ring he got long time ago because he was sure about it. Sure, about you.

"Yer lost mate.", Simon exhaled shocked while looking at the little box Johnny held out to him. "Why?" - "Ya know her for a month, went to yer first date like two ago and yer already got 'her a ring??" Johnny chuckled, his eyes lingering on the box. "I know she's the right one Lt. I just know." Simon only shook his head, but a soft smile was on his lips.

This was the moment all the people around him witnessed the second death of Johnny MacTavish. There was before you. A time Johnny can't remember at all. Because you changed it all for him. The time during your shared life was everything he ever wanted. Everything he never thought he could have. And somehow, he never thought there would be time after you but here you were. He always supposed he would leave way before you, but that wasn't the case. Here is he standing surrounded by people that love you, but nobody could understand what you meant to him. Nobody of them would understand the love he's holding for you. Nobody would understand that with your leaving you also took him with you.

A/N: i was gonna scrap this but I needed something to post while I'm writing this Shuriri fic 🚶🏽‍♀️

It was 8 pm, you were asleep in bed. It was your birthday. You hadn't heard from your lover shuri all day. You thought she forgot about you until your phone dinged. You rolled over to see what it was. To your pleasant surprise It was a text from Shuri that read

"Come open the door baby"

You jumped up and put your slippers on, practically running to your apartment door to greet your beloved. When you opened it you saw Shuri she was dressed in a white tee with a small gold chain on, black straight leg jeans, and the dark blue converse you bought for her and you so y'all could match. She had your favorite flowers in hand as well. Your heart melted at the sight. You came down from your high once you remembered she hadn't reached out to you all day. You were more than happy to see Shuri but you wouldn't let her off the hook that easily.

"So your phone don't work shuri??" You asked her in an irritated tone.

"It does Sithandwa sam." Shuri stated as she walked through the door. "I've been planning tonight all day and I didn't have time to reach out to you." Shuri explained.

"What do you mean you've been planning tonight?? Are we going somewhere?" You asked intrigued as you followed shuri to your bedroom.

"We are baby, I'm taking you out tonight for your birthday, so go do whatever you have to do now." Shuri said as she smiled at you.

"Aww my loveee" You walked up to her and wrapped your arms around her neck then gave her a kiss.

"Go get ready beautiful and don't take too long. I want to be able to take you everywhere I planned to." Shuri said as she pulled away from the kiss you and her just shared.

Her eyes trailed down your body as you walked away to your bathroom to get in the shower. As she did that You came up with the idea to punish Shuri for not talking to you all day.

"I don't want you to see what I put on till I'm ready Shuri, so go sit in the living room." You grinned as you lightly pushed Shuri out of your room.

"Baby you act like I haven't seen-"

"Go shuri I'm not playin" You Slightly raised your voice as you pushed her completely out of your room.

Her dramatics were cute but you wouldn't let them change your mind.

"I'll see you in a minute beloved" You giggled as you closed the door.

You already had in mind what you were going to wear, a black long sleeve body con dress with a black jean jacket, and your dark blue converse to match shuri of course.

You were now out of the shower. You styled your braids in a half you half down hairstyle, and left two twist out in the front. You put on the scent that shuri loved on you. You walked out of your room ready to greet shuri once more. You noticed while you were getting ready shuri put the flowers that she got you in a vase on your kitchen counter. As you walked in the room Shuris eyes traveled to every part of your body just taking in your beauty. She admired Each curve of yours that was hugged in all the right places by your dress. You were the most breathtaking person in the world to Shuri.

"Are you ready to go, my love" she said as she came up to you and kissed your neck, not wanting to smudge your makeup. She couldn't help but to touch you in some type of way.

"Yeah I am, come on bae" you said as you grabbed Shuris hand and locked it into yours.

You and Shuri walked out your apartment door and headed to her car. She opened the door for you like She always did, you didn’t think that was fair though so you always opened hers for her as well. She was your pretty princess too.

You and shuri got in, she turned on hold on by the internet which was one of her favorite songs. You had a feeling where shuri was taking you but you still nagged at her to tell you.

"Sooo…my love where we goin??" You questioned as you called shuri her favorite pet name hoping to get the information you wanted out of her.

"You'll see when you get there y/n" Shuri said a bit sternly. she didn't use your government often unless she was being serious.

You slumped down in your seat a little showing your defeat. Now knowing that Shuri wasn't going to budge.

When you got there it was one of the places you had guessed. The art museum. It's not the ideal destination for a date, but you loved the art museum so much, you could stare at all the beautiful paintings and sculptures all day if you were allowed to. After a few visits the art museum became one of your sanctuaries of peace. So you start to get teary eyed once you realize where you are. It showed that Shuri listened to the little things you told her.

"Nkosazana don't cry, you'll mess up your makeup." Shuri said while attempting to wipe your tears.

"I'm ok shuri, I just love you so much" you told her as you squeezed her hand gently.

"I love you so much more, Entle." Shuri said sincerely. "Now let's hurry up before this museum closes" Shuri chuckled trying to make you laugh a little.

All you could do was smile at her, how did you get so lucky. She was so perfect, and all while having a nation to run she always put more than enough time aside to come and visit you in America.

You and Shuri walked into the museum still holding hands. Y'all went to every part of it you could before it closed.

"Ouuu shuri baby look at this painting, I've never seen it before it’s gotta be new." You eyed the painting up and down looking at the beautiful abstract color scheme.

Shuri admired you from afar, in her opinion you looked the most beautiful when you were fixated on something. She came up behind you and hugged you from the back. You knew it was her because the smell of lavender and vanilla hit your nose, her signature scent. You and her started to sway back and forth a little just soaking up every second of the Moment.

you and shuri were walking out the museum that was now closed. To you it smelt like it was going to rain.

"Did you bring an umbrella baby, I think it's bout to rain" You asked shuri.

"No but I can almost guarantee it's not going to Rain Sithandwa sam" shuri tried to reassure you.

"Ok ima trust you for now shuri" you said hesitantly. You still couldn't shake the feeling that it was going to Rain.

Nonetheless you and shuri got back in her car headed to your second and final destination.

You genuinely had no idea where Shuri could take you that would top the art museum. That is until you pulled up to the park you and her first met at. Shuri was in America for business purposes and she crossed paths with the most beautiful woman she had ever seen. You. Now here you guys are today going on 1 year strong. Shuri was a sucker for sentimental gifts. Things that money couldn't buy, that's why she decided to take you where she first laid eyes on you.

"Shuri you keep on ima cry all over again" you laughed.

"Come on my love let's go walk in the park" shuri motioned you to come with her as she smiled at you.

You and Shuri walked around the park for a good 10 minutes, just laughing and reminiscing about the first day you met. Abruptly you started to feel Rain drops on your head.

"Shuri I told you it was gonna rain" You said as you rolled your eyes.

"That's not important right now, Nkosazana" Shuri said as she pulled you in by your waist."I love you so much more than you could ever understand y/n, you are truly my one and only. Shuri said as she slowly closed the little bit of distance that's between you two.

Before you could finish your sentence shuri had put her lips on yours, she kissed you as if you were the only person in the world. Just as you two were kissing it started to Rain a little harder.

"Shuri, it's probably about to start pouring rain" You giggled.

-> my suspicions of Shiro grew bigger and bigger as this season progressed. I think I have it figured out by now. 🔍🧐☕️

->^i think that’s her main arc: she needs to let go of the thought that all galra are evil (which she has fair reason to do so), as it is a war, and things aren’t all black and white. As much as I hate to admit it, I feel like having Lotor around this season will help her character development.

->^I wrote that at the beginning of s5, I was right, it did help a little (though then they brought up the fact that Lotor was half altean so maybe she just thinks he’s good because of that—let’s hope not)

I feel like they have been leading him to be the black paladin with how leader-y he has been this season but even if that’s not the case I do still feel they are going to do something really important with him for the next season and I am so excited to see what they are going to do with him! 😊

Folks, you're probably gonna hate me for this one, but I do not see the point of going into someone's inbox and go "why do you ship SatoSugu romantically, they're like brothers!"

I don't see the point, I really don't. Do I want to? No, because the reason won't make sense.

Here's my first question.

Did Satoru Gojo, the really tall one with white hair and strange blue eyes, and Suguru Geto, the one with long black hair that's usually tied up with sharp shaped eyes, jump out of the pages of the manga and the screen of whatever device you're watching the anime on and confront you in the middle of the night and go "We're so gay for each other" and that made you mad that you had to bother other people who is minding their own damn business about it?

If so, let me know how that happen because how?! If not, then how about this question.

Why are you wasting your time? Why? Just why?

Why are you wasting your time bothering people over two fictional men? Hm? Why does it matter to you how people ship them?

Here's the overall reason why people ship SatoSugu. It's the same reason why you see them as "brothers".

Because they want to. It's how they feel.

Getting mad at someone for shipping two characters who indeed have a rather not-so-brotherly relationship is like getting mad at someone for liking the color purple.

Seems silly, doesn't it?

That's why instead of wasting your time bothering people and being a nuisance over a ship, why not use that same energy into other things?

I genuinely mean this from the bottom of my heart. Use that energy into writing fics or drawing art of the ships and characters you like. Bake, practice playing an instrument, take up sewing.

I'm not saying this to be funny, I really do mean this.

Find something else to do that would make you actually happy and trust me, you would feel a lot better.

Even if you have to get out those feelings, make your own post about it WITH THE PROPER TAGS!!

Look, I don't see SatoSugu as brothers. I have siblings and some of the things they do I don't see myself doing with my siblings. [various natsume-fueled char development we've disturbingly stayed kind of sort of on track for in recent arcs] -> matoba reconsiders his whole life and the fact that as an adult hes in total control of it and he kind of completely hates it. he wants a less black and white relationship w youkai he's forlornly looking thru the window at natsume and all his sick ass youkai friends. he gives up his eye to eye-eater to settle the matoba debt and (at least temporarily) quits his job and leaves the community and lives a life as just some weird-ass guy whos suddenly free to have hobbies (just picking up and trying whatever) and go to therapy and physically recover.

[per my fics] nanase uses this to get her favorite matoba child back into the picture and help them reconcile as seiji passes the clan back to [matoba sister. i have not reconsidered with shinobu i cant handle it kjsf] and they uncover some of the misunderstandings that drove them apart as kids

[also per my fics. NOW DEBUNKED I GUESS] when natori hears that matoba quit his job he seethes in anger bc FUCK he was gonna do that!!!!! now he cant!!!! but its an opening for them to reconnect and similarly patch up some misunderstandings or figure out where, now changed by time, they fit together differently and less conflictingly than before. natori has also been gently prodded by natsume into therapy and lots of outdoor hobbies where he can Find Inner Peace

i really still adore the idea of. matoba gets settled in his lonesome. um he adopts a youkai-seeing kid thats varyingly important i love her to pieces i cant get into that. read my fics look at our art. but matoba's got his own thing going on hes broadening his horizons in his new life. natori's happy to dip in and out but hes got ten million lives hes busy hes all over the place. they get back together but like. only strictly Share A Life in the typical sense like. in passing. irregularly. always keep in contact but theyre not like. moving in together. for a long time at least.

natori does lose his leg in a freak accident at random one day and he DOES keep the lizard afterwards. really important to me. he grows to love this guy. disabi/_^y 4 disabi🦎y

matoba gets into doll restoration and has lots of pickling jars w body parts all over his place. natori spends lots of time in the woods lookin' at bugs as he gets fond of the gecko and learns more about geckos and then learns more about little guys in general. hes perfectly positioned to like. anthropology out the symbiotic relationships he discovers between insects and youkai. he writes an pseudonymous guidebook about this thats nichely successful and taken as whimsical fantasy

meanwhile sasada has never given up the goat on trying to prove youkai exist even tho her whole friend group wont admit it. i forget the details but she gets into the book and gets really into bugs to see if she can reverse-engineer the youkai side of the relationship without being able to see it. at some point meets natori thru natsume in just-some-guy capacity and finds out they both like bugs and they bond over that without her knowing hes the author. comedy of errors time ^_^

i think one of the main problems of tumblr (and fandom culture, and the internet in general) is that people tend to forget as human beings we are made of multitudes. nothing is ever just black or white - there are infinite shades of grey in between and that is the very thing that makes us, well, human.

sometimes people have contrasting opinions within themselves and - guess what - even contrasting feelings. sometimes people feel strongly about stuff and that is okay. you can love something/someone so much and at the same time find yourself disappointed by something related to it/them. that happens. it's okay.

i'm not gonna talk about what's going on on twitter because tbh i haven't checked so i have no idea wtf they're on about there, but i want to focus on our little tumblr community - which is so special because of the fact that it is (mostly) conflict-free, and if there's something we share it's a kind of visceral love for the boys that i'm sure everyone here can understand.

this is not an indirect @ anyone in particular, but i've seen some posts going around talking about all the negativity on the dash after last night, and i wanted to share my two cents on that.

we all love them. we all fucking love them so much and we know every time they set foot on stage we're guaranteed to be blown away by how fucking good and special and talented they are. they know how to deliver a spectacular performance (even in emergency situations like yesterday, with alex's laryngitis which is definitely far from gone) and they know how to keep the audience's attention fixed on them. they're a special kind of hypnotising, and every show is unique in and of itself *because* of their incredible presence, regardless of what setlist they might give us.

we all know that, and yesterday's show was no exception. it was amazing, powerful and breathtaking like every show they deliver. mindblowing, as always. as simple as that.

and that's exactly what can turn disappointing real quick. they know how fucking good they are. they know how much potential they have, and that all this tour they've been using up to 10% of said potential. they're incredibly talented and smart, and still decide to stick to their comfort zone every. single. night. with few exceptions, obviously, and mostly never from the album they're supposed to be touring. that's what upsets people here - the fact that they're letting their own HUGE potential go to waste.

glastonbury is a milestone. they had nothing to prove, of course, having headlined it already and more than once in the past. everyone knows what they're capable of. but glastonbury is special, too, and instead if felt like just another random show they could then go and tick off their list. done, next. rinse and repeat.

and of course we also all know it was an emergency. alex has been straining his voice for a long time now - the three consecutive london gigs were the breaking point, and i'm so glad they took a bit of time to let him rest, despite the fact that they probably hated having to cancel the dublin show. but they couldn't ditch glasto, and so they showed up and they did a fucking amazing job. alex sounded so good and i think i can speak for all of us when i say i was so incredibly relieved to see he was okay. i was shaking and biting my nails worried sick about him for DAYS up to the moment they appeared on stage and seeing him get up there and kill it with a fucking crazy performance, putting in all that effort and dedication despite the fact that he's no doubt still recovering (no way his laryngitis is 100% gone, and i hope he gets some more rest because he needs it) made me so proud of him, so fucking happy and proud and i couldn't really love him more. i love him so much, i love them all so much and i know everyone here also does. no one here is blaming it on him for whatever happened yesterday. we're all just fucking glad and grateful he could show up in the first place. he's the most special most talented most beautiful little guy ever and we all love and cherish him so much it hurts. and he did so fucking well, as always. i hope he knows that, and i hope he knows he's allowed to be sick and he's not to blame for anything. i would personally fight anyone who dared say anything bad about him because no one fuck's with tumblr's most beautiful most precious babygirlboy. no one!!!!!

having said that, big changes in the setlist - especially a live debut of hello you or other new songs - were highly unlikely and we all knew that. they probably wouldn't have had the chance to rehearse due to alex's sickness. and that's okay! sure everyone would love to see those songs finally make their grand debut. but that can wait, because alex's health is more important.

and let's face it. i don't think it's that big of a reach to say that even if alex hadn't been sick, the setlist wouldn't have changed that much anyway. there's songs that simply cannot be scrapped, songs to which they're particularly attached and songs to which average fans are also particularly attached. then there's songs that have been on rotation, and songs that have finally already made a comeback during the sheffield shows. taking away all that, the songs that have an actual real possibility of coming back aren't that many - as much as it hurts me to say it, they won't be playing secret door or piledriver waltz or batphone or whatever more niche song anytime soon. and we know that, no one *really* expects them to. because they have to gather to the general crowd, and as repetitive as their current setlist might be, it works. could house more new songs - they skipped big ideas? and songs such as mr schwartz and iaqwitia haven't made a comeback in such a long while... but still. it's bomb. it works, and it works fucking well.

however, there were other changes that could have been made to make glasto special - changes that wouldn't have been a risk to alex's health; small things that could have made a difference, even a tiny one. @mrschwartz said it perfectly in her tags (i hope it's okay to show these sbfksjf i just think you put it into words really well):

it WAS a win. the sole fact of headlining glasto, in and of itself, is a win. a big fucking one at that. and little changes could have been made to make it memorable - to make it stand out when compared to every other gig they played this tour. there definitely were highlights - not only with alex's antics but also lyrically, with the jet skis/iwby/star treatment moment, which was OUTSTANDING - but for the rest nothing really spoke GLASTONBURY. nothing else *really* stood out, and that's a shame.

(not even gonna touch on the miles thing because yeah we all know they probably wanted to do it but couldn't for some reason; it's pretty clear rn that him showing up in london was to make up for him not being able to be there yesterday; we all had our suspicions and they were right. still bummed tho because them playing glasto together is a tradition!)

but considered all that, it is what it is. no one is gonna go around unstanning them because of last night. if anything, when they pull this shit they just make us want to follow them even more, to see what they'll be up to in the next shows. what aces they have up their sleeves - because we know just as well as they know that they have many. they're just too comfortable in their routine to pull them all out, and hopefully sometime in the near future we'll get to see more of what they can really do.

again, it was an amazing show. my heart was beating so fast and i kept grinning like an idiot at the screen, just because they were there. just because they showed up in the first place, with their talent and beauty and power and insane energy. just because i love them so much i can't even begin to explain it.

and i was a bit disappointed, too. because we know how much potential they have. because if they can put up an amazing show like that using only a crumble of that potential, we can only imagine how insanely spectacular of a performance they could deliver if they used even a little bit more of it.

but they refuse to, and that's what can be upsetting. but it doesn't take away the love we have for them. the two things can coexist, and they don't take away from each other. if anything, i woke up this morning with even more love for them than i did yesterday, exactly because they frustrate me with how legendary they are, and how bad i want them to show that to the whole world.

i love them, i'm disappointed, and that's not gonna stop me from loving them even more.

I just saw your posts about your porn star Joel story while looking for brat posts lol (I’m loving brat and I’m very curious to see how it’s gonna end!)

I remember reading it back then and I just wanna say, it’s completely okay to not be happy with something you wrote in the past!

With pretty much everything, some people will love it and some people will not. Personally I remember I did feel a bit disgruntled at the ending because things with Joel and the reader didn’t feel as settled as I was hoping for. And that’s totally on me and my expectations and wants! But with the reader being so inexperienced, it didn’t feel like she would be really okay with Joel’s job in the long run so while they did get together at the end, it felt very bittersweet!

But again, that’s just my feelings and thoughts and so many others are super happy with it and loved it.

But the most important thing is how you truly feel about it. I know you’ve already privated it but I just wanna say that it’s totally okay! Things change, feelings change, your writing changes. If you weren’t happy with it anymore, it’s completely okay to hide or remove it. Maybe someday you wanna go back to it or maybe you just never wanna think about it again. And whatever you feel, is totally fine and okay. Sending much love to you 💕

i'm gonna be honest and say that the tone of this ask is difficult to read. it feels like you're telling me it's okay for me to not be happy with it since you were disappointed by the ending.

i've talked about this whole thing at length in other asks, but the story is the favorite thing i've written and it's very dear to my heart. i think i rushed into writing more bc i did love it so much and i wasn't ready to let them go. it was a continuation of them getting together and i think it got confused as a love story where everything was supposed to be tied up in a pretty bow at the end. their situation is complicated, and i always write with some type of realism in mind, and i try to make the characters and their thoughts/feelings as real as i can. which means that they won't behave perfectly in every situation and bc of this joel quitting his job just wasn't realistic to me. i'm left with a feeling of being misunderstood, and that everything i write has to be black or white with no room for grey characters or bittersweet endings, which is something i've written a lot before i started writing for joel.

i was proud of it when i posted the last part and excited to hear people's thoughts. and i know people have every right to either like it or hate it. but i was not proud of it a few hours later, and i felt like a failure, and that i had no business writing stories. and that feeling has stuck with me. i've never felt as insecure about my own writing as i do now after having written that. i'm writing the last part of brat right now, but i keep thinking that i'm gonna get the ending wrong again, and i'm scared to post it when it's finally done. and i feel the same way about my farm!joel series.

maybe i'm just being dramatic and overly sensitive, but it's just how i feel about the whole thing. and all those feelings would come up every time i saw someone leave a like on the fic. i got scared they'd spend their time and effort reading it, and then end up hating it and feel like they'd wasted their time. and that's the reason i wanted to private it. the last two parts are still up, but they can't be reblogged and i've made them harder to find on my blog. i've left them up for the people who have been so extremely kind to me about the story, despite my own negative feelings about it. it's up for them, so they can enjoy it.

alright, let's start with making the gif. my gif's size is 540x540, after coloring, sharpening, etc. here's what I've got (also let me know if anyone wants a coloring tutorial!):

next, let's make the little square frame inside of it using the rectangular marquee tool:

so, add a new layer and using the tool create a square in the center of the gif. my square's size is 410x410. next up, left click > stroke :

and adjust the settings to your liking. here are mine:

(btw don't worry if it's not perfectly in the center, you can adjust that by pressing ctrl + a while you have selected the layer, then clicking layer on the top of the screen in the menu > align layers to selection > vertical centers and then horizontal centers)

next up, duplicate this layer! right click on the layer > duplicate layer:

now you should have two layers. for the bottom one, set it to difference setting:

for the top one, right click > blending options > gradient overlay

my settings were something like this, but you can play around until you're happy with how it looks:

now the fun part! right click on that top layer that has the gradient overlay on > convert to smart object

and set the layer to color:

and there we go, we have a sexy gradient border/ frame/ whatever it is!!

next up, adding the text and little icons. so, I used this template for all of that, highly recommend it! all I did was play around with the text, I think I just used arial font and placed the job and location icons next to the text. then I placed the swiping icons onto my gif and centered them, so it here's what I've got now:

I think it's looking really cute but I wanted the icons to match the whole color scheme, so we're gonna do the same what we did with the frame to make it gradient. so what we're gonna do first is convert these 2 layers to a smart object to make things easier for us. select both layers > right click > convert to smart object:

now that we just have to deal with one layer, let's duplicate it (also renamed it to icons, so it's less confusing). right click > duplicate layer. we'll make one layer black and white, because it has some green, blue and red colors and we don't want that if we're sticking to our specific color scheme:

below the layers click on the little circle in the middle:

and select vibrance (you can also do this with black white, but since it's just simple little icons we need to make b&w, it's a little bit quicker):

my settings were these:

now let's select our bottom icons layer and the vibrance layer, right click > convert to smart object:

our icons are b&w now! now let's work with our top layer. select it > right click > blending options > gradient overlay

1. the character everyone gets wrong

It's probably going to be Alexis. I support women's rights and wrongs, but I think she was in a damned if you damned if you don't situation. Is she just gonna let Sam bleed out? He lived and found his soulmate, or whatever, and seems pretty damn happy all things considered. I want to die as much as the next person but... idk. Doesn't seem like there were any good choices.

This discourse doesn't really apply to me because I'm a 100% switch on the bdsm test (yes, this is documented) and so I always love switching. And since my fave is either Guy on a good day or Regulus on a bad day, there is only the switch variant. I was never that kind of shipper, even back in my hardcore anime days.

I will not be screenshotting even though I think there's mutual blocking going on, but just know that I'm pretty sure the only reason I didn't also get death threats a month ago was because I had already blocked that person over something else.

Oh also? I hate the idea that the fandom needs to be welcoming to minors as a whole. I love when youths are into a fandom and make friends online, because that's what I did when I got on Tumblr pretty much a decade ago! This is a joke but I want more worldbuilding lore of how society functions. I love the lore for like the sky gods and all the old magic but I JUST WANT TO KNOW PRACTICAL SHIT. What happens when vampires go in the sun and does it change with age? How alive are vampires? Why don't my wolf shifters have knots, this is a real problem for me. How big are magical cities? How big is Shaw security? How big are most packs? Do all shifters form some sort of pack/collective group? How do empowered people get access to empowered resources or the internet or radio or tv? Do vampires piss?

More realistically, I wasn't super satisfied with the Quinn ending which isn't a big deal, but I definitely felt like Darlin got wubified by Sam and David at the end. I never directly attacked anyone in my time while pretending to be an anti. I was just completely silent on the matter, letting my morality complex and p.edophobia ocd wage war on my well-being.

It's ironic, I've been on this site since about 2010; and in 2012 when I started to be at my first most active point on tumblr and had a friend group on here, I would blog about Wincest (SPN) on main and no one said anything or thought anything of it, they just kept scrolling. That was the norm. People just SHIPPED whatever they wanted.

Flash ahead to like 2018 and suddenly everywhere I go there are now neon eyesore banners on posts, including fucking stimboards and whatnot with 'p.roship d.ni' and 'a.nti-a,ntis d.ni' ( I'm censoring that just so this post isn't blacklisted from proshippers because that is NOT my stance ) and I was like 'I don't even know what these terms MEAN?? where did these come from??' but I was too afraid to ask anyone so I just. Stayed silent and promised myself I'd only reblog "safe" content and that I was "happy" I'd "become a better person since then". ( spoiler: I was lying to myself. )

And over the years any time I made new friends who had never seen that content on my blog back then, I'd just say I didn't support Problematic Content(tm) and I'd only talk about and rp and reblog ships that were "normal", because I was now so afraid people would reject me at any time because it seemed like the anti crowd was so large and violent and nasty -- my mental health at that time would not have been able to handle that hatred.

-- in fact I had this SAME experience in the plural community with the a.nti-e.ndos for identifying as a median system. ( we know now that we are a bpdgenic osdd-1b system, but we still prefer most median terminology to describe ourselves. ) But the traumagenic DID systems who were pro-endo were so much more welcome to interacting with us than the exclusionists. And it's the same bullshit different flavor happening here with the proshippers.

How much overlap is there between a.nti-e.ndo and a.nti-p.roship rhetoric, I wonder? It's wild. I wish I had learned how to undo my black and white thinking so much sooner and listen to new points of view instead of just shying away from the unknown in fear.

But this is a new year, and this is a new me. This blog is going to be a source of love and positivity and learning about other people's experiences. Any discourse or negativity ( even the validating kind ) will remain on my sideblog. Hello and thank you for the ask! I will be honest I kinda feel like I have been caught with my pants down cause I completely forgot I posted/reblogged that but I am more than happy to share my OCs. I think I am going to mention two that I'm working on and none of what is here is solid yet. Like, its not concrete! I keep forgetting the right analogies for these things, are they analogies?

I think one for Skyrim and one for whatever is happening on the other end of my fishing line lol. Also, I'm working off of minimal sleep and a high amount of caffeine so I apologize if this comes off as weird. Im sure it will.

Number 1 says, "What is their birthsign and does it have any large significance to who they are?"

So, I don't actually have birthdays or names picked out for these OCs so I'll just share some of what I do have. Vibes mostly but damn are they hot.

For Skyrim we have an Altmer/Nord Dragonborn Character, a mixed race character. For this one I have more plot then character but because the thingy said Skyrim originally it doesn't feel right to not mention her. I literally have over three pages of bullet pointed plot points and thoughts for her. I know it doesn't seem like much but for me thats a lot. She was inspired by a play through I just started and Taliesin. In an ask game before this I think I mentioned him but if I didn't he is an in progress fully voiced modded follower that I have been obsessed with recently. You can find the creators blog here. And I kinda want to use this OC in a fan fiction for him but we won't talk about that cause I actually don't know yet. But I really want to its probably gonna be after his release if I do. But unlikely cause I'm so slow af. And I have said I'd have Little Dove part 1 posted in a couple of days and well, its been like two months so...

Brief Character Description: We'll just call her Brye for now.

She was born in a place far far away that I have yet to choose but was raised in Riverwood by her Nord Dad.

Brye's Appearance

Eyes-blue

Hair- long and white (will be cut later down the line cause trauma)

skin- currently torn between olive or tan, probably olive

height- no specific number has been set yet but she definitely isn't small

Armor- In the beginning she goes with what she can afford so, either hide armor or steel if she can get her hands on it. Later down the line she'll have more assassin looking light weight armor. She does cover her hair and ears in a scarf like thing I can't remember the name to but like sailors use them so like? It's there and it is black and she wears a helmet over it.

constantly wants the approval of others, kinda a people pleaser but not really. Like she isn't a floor mat... rug? Whatever she has boundaries + backbone and doesn't like letting people get close. But will feel guilty for hours after saying "no" to someone.

I'll leave it there for the Skyrim OC cause I said a short list and that is not short. Moving on to whatever is happening on the other end of the screen!

Pirate Elf: that I still don't have a name for.

I had a mix of Sea Shanties that was really good but I couldn't find it so yeah.

For his bird he does have a green parrot not because I see a lot of other pirates with them but because my Grandma had a green parrot named Rocky who died a couple of years ago and I loved him to bits so, he has a bird named Rocky. I hope thats the right picture.

For the coping skill I mentioned I don't think he has one. Cause what I'm currently thinking is that he talks with his hands a lot, mostly to show off his rings, but that he puts all the stress of whatever is happening in a bottle and just keeps shoving it all in there. Until he is literally teetering on the edge of like super villain or defeat. Mostly supervillain. And by defeat I mean like breaking down and not recovering mentally.

An example of what could break that bottle would be like, if he fell in love with a human woman and he got married to her and had children and she died a normal death. He won't be fine for a while but probably won't go raging war on anyone. Verses, he fell in love with a human woman who he was going to marry but couldn't cause she was shot and killed and then he goes Super villain I'ma kill everyone mode. Or my personal favorite He gets married to the love of his life they have children together she still gets brutally murdered and he goes to start a war and I make another protagonist to take him out. And it be a simple family verses family story.

I have a ton more I'd like to say about him but this post is crazy long so thank you for asking! I'm sure this isn't what you wanted to walk into but hey, its late I'm tired and I have to turn in like three huge grade breaking essays. So, its all good!

Only Friends Music EP6 (part 1/2)

Another installment of the Only friends music series. The details continue to be amazing, all praise Jojo.

Quick recap, music is used in three different ways:

Just background music (Background) - It’s important and creates an atmosphere, like using Disco Frog for Mew and Cheum’s chat at the bar. These I will not use unless I see a theme or something important later.

Playing with Music (Playful) - It’s like body language, the music will pause, start up, move along faster or slower. It's intentionally moving with what is happening on screen.

Verbal/Vocal - Music that is telling us things. It could be songs that have names that seem important or have lyrics that may or may not be in the show. If there are lyrics I will include them, but will specify if they are in OF, and where they start and stop.

In the recap, the song starts when Top is going to kiss Mew, and continues as we see Nick and Boston in the pool, and Ray and Sand and ends with a crash as Boston says Ray’s whole ass is owned by Mew. Last time this was played was in EP5 when Sand and Ray are in the kitchen about to try out a "hangover cure".

Starts as we see Top and Mew jump into the pool and we get a montage of them having fun and being close. The theme of being bewitched or high has come back, which started with Bewitched by Zorro in EP1. Though it is interesting that it is “almost love”. Whatever Mew is feeling is close enough to love that Mew feels comfortable enough to talk about his parents. Mew and Top are riding that high from last episode, enjoying each other. 

Song: From Across the Lake by Roots and Recognition  Scene: Mew talks about his moms Type: background, but used again later

Starts after Top asks about Mew’s mom liking women. I bring up this song because it is used again later, and brings a certain domestic calm feeling as they talk about their families. Also, it is similar to the song Through the Fields, which was played while Sand and Ray were talking about their parents in the last episode.

Song: Would If I Could by The New Fools  Scene: School/ friends eat together Type: Vocal

Starts in the classroom scene when Ray turns to stare at Boston after the Cheum reassures their teacher that they can keep work and personal life separate. The song continues while the friends eat, Ray continues to be pissed, absorbing how his friends are not being honest with themselves or with their partners. 

Cheum complains about her girlfriend, Boston talks about not dating, saying his heart is frozen. And Mew says he’s going to get lasik from a doctor Top knows, implying Mew is changing for Top.

This change in Ray began when Sand didn’t scold Ray back at the guitar store ‘date’ with Sand. He started to learn how you should be treated by your friends and loved ones, not just blamed and looked at as a burden. He’s realized his friends are not acting right towards him or towards their partners. Even so, Ray continues to bottle it all in, choosing not to say anything even when he obviously disagrees with his friends.

Boston exchanges a look with Ray while Mew is saying he’s getting Lasik, stopping Ray from saying anything. Boston might just be enjoying Ray's obvious discomfort. Boston almost seems like he wants to punish Ray for loving Mew. In Boston's mind, he has framed any help he gives Mew as a romantic move, instead of a friend being concerned.

Mostly a happy song, I think from Nick’s point of view. He had a similar song last episode that I didn’t talk about, Lords of the Land. Both songs are hopeful and laidback. Personally, it’s what I call longboarding music, a warm summer night, breezy, smooth road, and nothing to worry about, kick, push, coast. Nick has been feeling really great about Boston.

"Hooked on all your flaws" is a lyric later in the song, and Nick is accepting the worst parts of Boston, with little more than a flinch, even as Boston tries to blame the cookies for his behavior. Nick tries to coax the truth from him, and Boston calls him out for liking bad guys.

Song: experimental by Gridded  Scene: Gap says Hi to Boston Type: Vocal, background

Song adds a sense of unease to Boston and Gap’s interaction. We get a duality of Boston being mad at Gap but also having and using the recording of his friends kissing, and we have more of Boston not being able to, or refusing to, self-reflect. After Gap leaves Nick doesn’t push Boston, instead tries to comfort him. He overpowers Boston, possibly hinting at Nick experimenting with the changing boundaries and balance of their relationship.

Song: From across the Lake by Roots and Recognition (again)  Scene: Top and Mew at the hospital talking about Lasik  Type: Background, emotional

Last time this played was at the beginning of the episode, when Top and Mew are talking about their parents. It starts when Top says "Of course I'd want to accompany my boyfriend." Top is being supportive, domestic, he is doing the "right thing" by being with Mew to take care of him.

Song: Painted Roses by Water Mirrors  Scene: Top taking care of Mew post Lasik Type: Background, Possibly Vocal

Starts as Mew reaches out for Top to lay down with him. Stops before Mew says he should thank Boston. The song is edited so that the snapping/clapping sound is gone. 

A connection could be made with Painted Roses from Alice in Wonderland and how Top is painting his life to fit Mew’s wants and needs. In some ways he seems to have fully given in to remaking himself for Mew, and yet he continues to shape Mew to fit him, given Lasik was his idea in the first place.

Starts as Mew falls asleep, so this song is from Top’s feelings. He’s falling hard for Mew, “I am changing, more than you know”. 

“The Summer is old and it’s getting cold” is an interesting line that they included in the show, most of their songs have been about a high, not wanting to let go of this good feeling, being bewitched. Then this song is signaling the end of that Summer High feeling, just as this being one of the first songs to talk about love, not almost love, but love. 

Top is used to being in control, getting what and who he wants, as he says repeatedly to other people. Mew comes in unexpectedly and wrecks his control, even as he gloats to Sand in the hospital that he got what he wants. Mew is a Hurricane, and Top is holding the door open for him to come into his life. 

To everyone else Top is smug and confident that he’ll get Mew, to Mew he seems to be willing to change. Mew came in like that hurricane, demanding and pushing Top off center, to think about more than just himself.

So, this song seems to signal Tops final surrender. To some extent in the beginning he’s been playing a game to sleep with Mew, but his goals have shifted and changed. Sleeping with Boston left him feeling very unfulfilled and he turned his effort to being Mew’s “ideal” boyfriend. They have slept together, Mew has trusted his judgment and had Lasik, from Top’s perspective Mew has given in completely to their relationship. For Top who seems extremely isolated it’s clear that Mew’s trust has led him into a dream world where he feels seen and loved and this song talks about this, about Top’s surrender into his feelings and into the person Mew sees him as and the person he wants to be. 

Unfortunately…it doesn’t last long, but his surrender here is significant, he is not likely to let Mew go without a fight, especially as the reason’s Mew states for breaking up (feeling tricked, was it all a game) are now so far from the truth that Top can’t bear to have him believe it. 

Song: No Apology by Mike Stringer  Scene: Sand and Ray play pool Theme: Vocal

The word “Fuse” from the previous song carries over to this scene, and No Apology starts right away. Ray walks past a sign that says “Sometimes we think too much and feel too little” as he greets Sand at the pool table. Red lights, a picture of a gun without ammunition, a moose head and a target are behind Sand at the pool table.(See picture above, The moose head is on the wall to the left). The moose head being symbolic of Boston and his hunting trophies, the clip is ammunition for the gun, and the target is Mew and Top’s relationship. There seems to be more symbolism in this scene, but that’s for another post.

Ray comes to Sand, maybe hoping for Sand to be ready to talk with him. Ray doesn’t offer an apology because he has not done anything wrong. Also, Ray never argues when people assume the worst from him, he accepts and internalizes it. “Burden to society”, “Only good for spending money”

He has already told Sand all he can: “If you want to know anything, ask me” he doesn’t further assume that Sand cares enough about him to be jealous or hurt, continuing to see himself as a burden to all.

What’s different about this scene is Sand in his hurt at Ray and his anger at Top he has switched off from caring, becoming unstable, in some ways shifting and unsolid, like the Sand he is named for rather than the solid glass he had been previously when exposed to Ray’s heat alone. 

Sand’s hurt comes from a real place of course, Boston has crystalized his uncertainty in their relationship by discussing Mew openly, and wrongly, with no denial from Ray. Sand now thinks of himself only as Mew’s replacement, like in Tell Me Something New, from last episode and from the opening of this episode

So he withdraws and Ray becomes a means to an end. He is willing to set Ray on the path to be the bad guy or maybe he even thinks he’s giving Ray what he wants, a way of being Mew’s savior. The song No Apology makes the first option more likely, he’s here, angry and he’s loading Ray up and pointing him at Top (he thinks) and he is not sorry about doing so.

Song: Replicants by Hampus Naeselius  Scene: Sand sends the clip to Ray Type: background, emotional

The title of this song possibly refers to the way the audio clip of Top and Boston having sex, taken non-consensually and then further stolen and shared non-consensually. Its sharing is being replicated over and over again. Probably not a blade runner reference, more of replication like a virus.

Starts as Boston’s dad says that Boston is going to New York if he doesn’t graduate, and the melody comes in as Boston says he’s not in a relationship because it’s annoying. This song first played in full at the beginning of ep3, with Nick and Boston’s sex montage. Back when Nick was using sex to get Boston addicted to him. Then Nick was desperate, basically begging Boston to love him, to see him, to need him. Now he’s seeing that work slip from his fingers.

Song here is a bit playful too, highlighting Nick’s feelings as Boston and his dad talk about relationships and New York. "Why would I want a relationship?  It’s annoying." As the melody starts to play, we find out Boston’s dad is proud of him for not being in a relationship, and it ends in the darkroom as Boston says “It’s not settled yet. I don’t want to jump to that conclusion.”

This scene does give us another look at how Boston acts, what he pays attention to, what he doesn’t. He knows his dad doesn’t value relationships, even as he himself realizes fuck buddies might not be enough. He pays attention to Nick, understanding why Nick is upset. He pays attention to his photography. But the moment things turn to something he’s not interested in or doesn’t like, he disconnects. This includes his own emotions, disconnecting from his own responsibility and that makes self reflection impossible.

The song starts as Boston says Nick is his number one (while he’s still in Thailand.) Nick is actually upset this time, no games, and throws it back into Boston’s face. It doesn’t matter what number he is, he doesn’t like Boston that way. Boston admits that he knows Nick likes him, but has kept him around because he likes Nick’s attention, that he’s not annoying. Lyrics start while they make out. 

From Nick’s point of view, he has hope, especially since Boston admitted that Nick’s feelings were known. If he can just push a bit more, make Boston drop more barriers and open up a little bit more, then maybe Boston will fall for him.

If this song is from Boston’s point of view, then maybe Nick is succeeding in getting Boston to be more honest about himself. Boston is full of masks, masks that drop every now and then, and Nick has been trying to get Boston to drop those masks. Who else wouldn’t flinch away from the worst of Boston, and would understand, if not Nick?

Sean x daisy - they're so sweet and understand each other so we'll and parallel each other and they're both the sweetest people alive combined together they're an unstoppable force of cinnamon rolling. Daisy is usually the one that helps brighten up other people's lives but in this case it's Sean who finally helped daisy out. just by letting her talk out her problems and making her feel listened to and cared for. they comfort each other. blue daisies (daisies clothing+ Sean's hoodie) symbolize (apparently) deep understanding or sumth like that and it FITS.
