academic circles mostly agreed after looking at the body of evidence that Lot's wife was a basic bitch, and her transformation into a salt statue is the core of her written tale, hence we can infer that the action of looking back at Sodom and Gomorrha was acidic
since not everyone was a basic bitch we can also conclude that most of Lot's family was pickled

Sodomy reference in the Kinloch-Müller letters (Kinloch to Müller, July 25, 1777)
I do find it mildly hilarious that Kinloch almost spelled "Gomorrah" correctly but then proceeded to cross it out and spell it worse.
Here's the full context (which in reality, was not about sodomy, but rather about Kinloch questioning the intelligence of a fellow traveler on a ship):
"One of my fellow Passengers, a very good Sort of Man, who has travelled in France, Germany, & Spain, asked me one day whether I had ever seen the famous Colossus (of Rhodes) under which a Ship might go in full sail, & expressed his desire of visiting it;_ Another day_ we were speaking of Italy; I gave him some account of the irruption at Mount Vesuvius that I was witness to, & added that very possibly the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrha Ghomorra, which is mentioned in the bible, was occasion'd by some such event, the more so, as a lake now stands in the spot where those cities are supposed to have been placed_ He thought my idea very good, & concluded with asking whether Sodom & Ghomorra had been situated in Italy or no?_ And yet this Man was by no means a fool._"
Aside from the major eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 AD, there have been various levels of volcanic activity at Mt. Vesuvius since, including some period of lava effusion in 1776/1777 when Kinloch would have visited.

Greg Owen at LGBTQ Nation:
On February 26, 2015, the California Attorney General’s Office stamped “received” on a cover letter from Huntington Beach attorney Matt McLaughlin, acknowledging receipt of a proposed initiative for the November ballot that would authorize the mass murder of gays and lesbians in the state. McLaughlin called his proposal the “Sodomite Suppression Act.” Kamala Harris was the state attorney general. Harris had just won reelection — overwhelmingly — in November, and three weeks before McLaughlin’s measure landed in her inbox, she had declared her intention to seek the U.S. Senate seat occupied by Barbara Boxer, who announced her retirement that January. Now Harris was confronted with a hateful proposal she had no choice but to deal with: under California state law, the attorney general has zero discretion to disregard a properly proposed initiative filing, no matter how intentionally provocative, discriminatory, or felonious.   The “Sodomite Suppression Act” was all three. And prophetic, too.
What came to be known as the “Shoot the Gays” initiative detailed several steps to eliminate the gay and lesbian population of California based on McLaughlin’s interpretation of Scripture. “The abominable crime against nature known as buggery, called also sodomy, is a monstrous evil that Almighty God, giver of freedom and liberty, commands us to suppress on pain of our utter destruction even as he overthrew Sodom and Gomorrha [sic],” McLaughlin wrote. “Seeing that it is better that offenders should die rather than that all of us should be killed by God’s just wrath against us for the folly of tolerating-wickedness in our midst, the People of California wisely command, in the fear of God, that any person who willingly touches another person of the same gender for purposes of sexual gratification be put to death by bullets to the head or by any other convenient method.” The proposed measure would outlaw “sodomistic propaganda directly or indirectly by any means to any person under the age of majority.” Violators would be fined “and/or imprisoned up to 10 years, and/or expelled from the boundaries of the state of California for up to life.”
[...] Harris wasn’t having it. “It is my sworn duty to uphold the California and United States Constitutions and to protect the rights of all Californians,” Harris said as a deadline for action loomed. “This proposal not only threatens public safety, it is patently unconstitutional, utterly reprehensible, and has no place in a civil society.” For the first time, a California attorney general sought relief from her sworn obligation and petitioned the state’s highest court to dismiss it. “If the court does not grant this relief,” she said, “my office will be forced to issue a title and summary for a proposal that seeks to legalize discrimination and vigilantism.” There was little-to-no chance McLaughlin would collect the 365,880 signatures of registered voters required to make the ballot, and even less that Californians would approve it or that it would survive the inevitable court challenges if it did pass.
In 2015, a few months before Donald Trump made the infamous escalator ride to announce his presidential run and SCOTUS’s Obergefell ruling, then-California AG Kamala Harris found a way to reject a bigoted referendum item from making it onto the ballot.
That ballot measure was called the “Sodomite Suppression Act.”
Portions of what was in the act later became standard GOP policy against LGBTQ+ Americans.

On the topic of fashion being considered a feminine trait and men who were seen as being too into fashion being mocked as effeminate, consider Mundus Foppensis: or, the Fop Display'd which was published in 1691. The poem satirises the fop being "such Women grown" mocking them for spending too much time at the barber:
How is the Barber held Divine, That can a Perriwig Carine! Or else Correct it; which you please; For these are Terms too, now-a-days, Of modern Gallants to entice The Barber to advance his Price: For if a Barber be not dear, He must not cover Coxcomb's Ear.
For wearing too much makeup:
And then they study wanton use Of Spanish Red, and white Ceruse; The only Painters to the Life, That seem with Natures self at strife;
And just in general spending too much time getting dressed and looking at their own reflection:
Far much more time Men trifling wast, E'er their soft Bodies can be drest; The Looking-Glass hangs just before, And each o'th' Legs requires an hour: Now thereby, Ladies, hangs a Tale, A Story for your Cakes and Ale. A certain Beau was lately dressing, But sure, e'er he had crav'd Heavens Blessing; When in comes Friend, and finds him laid In mournfull plight, upon his Bed. Dear Tom, quoth he, such a Mischance As ne'er befell the Foes of France; Nay, I must tell thee, Fleury Battel Was ne'er to Europe half so fatal; For by I know not what ill luck, My Glass this Morn fell down and broke Upon my Shin, just in my Rolling; Now is not this worth thy condoling? See Stocking cut, and bloody Shin, Besides the Charge of healing Skin. 'Twas the only Kindness of my Fate, It mist the solid Piece, my Pate.
The poem then goes on to suggest that fops have become so unmanly they have become sodomites:
The World is chang'd I know not how, For Men kiss Men, not Women now; And your neglected Lips in vain, Of smugling Jack, and Tom complain: A most unmanly nasty Trick; One Man to lick the other's Cheek; And only what renews the shame Of J. the first, and Buckingham: He, true it is, his Wives Embraces fled To slabber his lov'd Ganimede; But to employ, those Lips were made For Women in Gomorrha's Trade; Bespeaks the Reason ill design'd, Of railing thus 'gainst Woman-kind: For who that loves as Nature teaches, That had not rather kiss the Breeches Of Twenty Women, than to lick The Bristles of one Male dear Dick?

God's Judgment on the Ungodly
6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.
7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. — Jude 1:6-7 | King James Version (KJV) The King James Version Bible is in the public domain. Cross References: Genesis 19:24; Deuteronomy 29:23; 1 Kings 22:46; Jeremiah 50:40; Hosea 11:8; Matthew 10:15; Matthew 25:41; Romans 2:5; 2 Peter 2:4; 2 Peter 2:9; Jude 1:13; Revelation 20:2

Genesis 19:24 is a very intriguing verse and I’m surprised you didn’t mention it. It’s grammatically composed very strangely. The context (Genesis 18) is that Yahweh has just spoken to Abraham about the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. Within the narrative, Yahweh actually enters Abrahams tent with two angels, and they eat dinner together. Yahweh talks with Abraham outside, and we get to the story of the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah.
Genesis 19:24: “And the Lord rained upon Sodom and Gomorrha brimstone and fire from the Lord out of heaven.”
It’s a very strange verse, why the repetition? It seems to imply a Lord on Earth and a Lord in Heaven. Yes, Lord is a translation of the Tetragrammaton in both instances. “And Yahweh rained upon Sodom and Gomorrah brimstone and fire from Yahweh out the heaven.”
Christians interpret the entire story trinitarianly. The most famous depiction is Andrei Rublev’s icon of three angels
hmm, i wasnt aware of this. it COULD be a weird thing about hebrew grammar or whatever? like maybe the phrasing seems less weird when its not in translation? seems like it might be a grammatical/stylistic thing?

I've been following you for a while and I'm definitely pro Palestine. I'm just wondering if you're from there or why you're such an advocate? I am too. I've been to one rally. But I could do better.
No, I'm from europe.
They always told us to think independently & not look away and just go along with everyone else if something like the Nazis etc. happens again in our lifetime, and we dissected in class the disastrous wars of the past & how talking points, rhetoric & nationalism was used to justify atrocities & fool people into throwing away their lives.
But now it's like all the authorities & media went isane at once & are like like "oops, we didn't mean it, shut up & accept this rationalization we feed you". It's the same nonsense. It just wears a 21st century cancel culture disguise of smearing peace activists as "offensive".
I've been against many other wars, religious extremists & oppressive rauthoritarian governments, but they want to sell us that this one is somehow different & forbidden to complain about even though it does all the same things, if not worse? Even before the war the treatment of ppl, and particularly in the westbank & gaza, was atrocious, and the present situation is just in terms of the rate of destruction, the worst destruction since WWII or maybe Vietnam.
Though, to be fair, i just happen to have some time on my hands RN because I'm between jobs and my obsession brain has currently glued itself to the topic. I'm not really a hero or an advocate or anything like those ppl actually losing jobs over this.
But the ppl who are supposed to be speaking for us in media & politics are pretending like everyone here agrees with Israel and those who don't are considered scum. There were dystopian-ass videos interspersed with the adds at a bus station I frequent, calling for 'solidarity with Israel' - solidarity with what? Colonialism? Orientalism? Baby killing? (Then of course the same politicians don't wanna give back stolen art or pay reparations to Namibia, and they also don't care too much about ppl drowning in the mediterranian so...)
One of the guys involved in that one assassination attempt on Hitler said something like "God said he would spare Sodom & Gomorrha if there were even 10 just people there, so we will show that there are at least 10 just people left in Germany" - now I'm not a believer so I wouldn't have put it in those terms, but it really made an impression on me cause it captures the total darkness they were in.
Of course I'mnot anything like those ppl who risked & lost their lives in the process and I'm very aware that I don't have much reach or influence, no money to give for example, and that this is totally the result of me not prioritizing such things. Never though I'd need them.
But I can do what I can to use what limited influence I do have, I guess.

Heya Peeps. I'm new here. I'd like to share my latest Story I'm currently writing for AO3. It's an Idea Idea i had for LeviathanTale. I hope you enjoy. This is for Sku. Rungholt: Chapter 1: Prologue
In the Northern Sea, (not too) far out from the coast lies the Halligen, tiny flat islands, barely big enough to fit a single house on one. They are small bumps in the wadden sea during ebb, but as soon as the flood comes in, the mudflap gets submerged and only the Halligen remain.
Legends say that where now the Halligen are there had once been an island with a flourishing town, called Rungholt.
Some call Rungholt the german Atlantis. According to the storys from elder times, it got destroyed by a giant flood because the people had gotten corrupted and disrespectful towards the sea they all were dependent on, and they were wiped out for punishment and as a warning to others.
Supposedly Rungholt still lies beneath the wadden sea after it got destroyed and sunk to the seaground.
But is it all real?
Did it really happen like that?
What was the nature of force that wiped out an entire island? Was it natural? Was it god, like he'd done so with Sodom and Gomorrha? Or was it one of the many other gods and deities nobody knows of anymore today?
Let's turn back time to the days where Rungholt still existed.
And let's see what happened for ourselves.

DESTRUCTION FOR FALSE TEACHERS
2 Peter 2:4 For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgement;
2 Peter 2:5 And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eight person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;
2 Peter 2:6 And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;
