On the path of learning bookbinding, finishing with gold is the hard part for me. In Vietnam, we dont have the traditional in bookbinding, of couse, we dont have the technique for gilding on leather. From manual book, I had learn too way to making the "size" for gilding on leather, the egg glaire and the shellac base. Last time I am success with shellac but failed many time with egg glaire. So happy, to day I totally success with it, the gold completly stick on leather with sharping edges.
