Corrie cast share love with Samia Longchambon as she marks milestone | Soaps
Samia has played Maria for 24 years (Picture: ITV/Michael Adams/Metro.co.uk) Samia Longchambon’s co-stars have gushed over the actress as she celebrated 24 years of her Coronation Street character Maria Connor. Samia, 41, first appeared as hair stylist turned councillor Maria all the way back on 19th May 2000, and was introduced as a romantic interest for Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall). Then known as Maria Sutherland, it wasn’t long before she established herself on the cobbles and we were introduced to her wider family – including brother Kirk (Andy Whyment). Over the years she’s been involved in a number of high profile stories, including giving birth to a stillborn son and losing the love of her life, husband Liam (Rob James-Collier) in a hit and run ordeal. She’s also had a string of relationships and affairs, including (but certainly not limited to) Nick Tilsley (then Adam Rickitt), Jason Grimshaw (Ryan Thomas) and Aidan Connor (Shayne Ward). She shared her first ever scene on Instagram (Picture: ITV) Maria has come a long way since working in Sutherland’s Kennels (Picture: Granada Television) Maria is currently married to Gary Windass (Mikey North), but in recent weeks things have been rocky between the two. After discovering her son Liam Jr. (Charlie Wrenshall) was contemplating suicide, Maria installed a secret camera in their apartment to keep an eye on him, but ended up catching Gary in an intimate moment with his ex Sarah Barlow (Tina O’Brien). In a recent Instagram post, Samia shared a video of her first ever scene, and captioned it: ’24 years ago today was my first appearance as Maria @coronationstreet.. I was so nervous to be with the wonderful Bill Tarmey (and I think it shows ) ‘We filmed it on Easter Sunday and I remember being thrilled that I got a free Easter egg to take home on day 1! Imagine my first line being ‘cobblers’ .. I’m super grateful to still be a part of this mighty show #goldolddays @alanhalsall ’ Maria’s one true love was Liam (Picture: ITV) Follow Metro Soaps on WhatsApp and get all the latest spoilers first! COVID-19 vaccination rollout
Tumblr media
Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is a newly discovered coronavirus that causes an infectious disease. The majority of people infected with the COVID-19 virus will have mild to moderate respiratory symptoms and will recover without needing any special treatment. People who are older, as well as those who have underlying medical conditions such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, chronic respiratory disease, and cancer, are more likely to develop serious illness.
This pandemic changed us. It changed our perspective. It caused us to understand the importance of things that used to seem insignificant- breathing, a walk, a hug, a smile, a small talk. It caused us to rethink how to live our lives. It gave us an opportunity to rediscover the value of being grateful in “little things.” Covid-19 is no joke that’s why everyone is waiting for the vaccine so the world could go back to how it used to be.
Vaccination is an easy, safe, and effective way to protect people from dangerous diseases before they become infected. It strengthens your immune system by utilizing your body's natural defences to create resistance to specific infections. We aren't just protecting ourselves when we get vaccinated; we are also protecting those around us. Some people, such as the terminally ill, are advised not to get certain vaccines, so they rely on the rest of us to get vaccinated and help prevent disease from spreading.
Getting vaccinated serves two purposes: protecting ourselves and those around us. Because not everyone can be vaccinated – such as very young infants, those who are seriously ill, or those who have certain allergies – they rely on others to be protected from vaccine-preventable diseases. Vaccines protect us throughout our lives and at various ages, from birth to childhood, adolescence, and retirement. In most countries, you will be handed a vaccination card detailing the vaccines you or your child have received, as well as when the next vaccines or booster doses are due. It is critical to ensure that all of these vaccines are current.
Who works to ensure that vaccines are safe and effective for everyone, everywhere. To do so, we assist countries in establishing comprehensive vaccine safety systems and enforcing strict international vaccine regulations. WHO experts conduct on-going monitoring with the help of scientists from all over the world to ensure that vaccines remain safe. We also collaborate with partners to assist countries in investigating and communicating potential concerns.
As of now there are a lot of people who are already vaccinated yet some are still in doubt but we can’t force those people who wouldn’t take risk. All of this will come to an end and everything will be alright in time.
And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the LORD, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein. And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The LORD is my God (Zec 13:8-9).
