I do feel like, as an American, it’s really important we acknowledge how fucking big America is.
Because the only other countries that can really understand physically how fucking BIG we are are Russia, China, and like Canada. (Feel free to throw in another one, I still think my point works.) Like those are the only other countries with THIS MUCH LAND MASS.
And yes China and Russia are both bigger, but what makes the US different is we’re sort of the only country with our population as SPREAD OUT as it is. We’re like butter on toast, we really spread ourselves thin.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Like if we look at population density maps, which when they do it with lights is probably one of the *prettiest maps*, you see that China (above) is fucking LARGE. But 94% of it’s people are on the east coast.
Tumblr media
Similarly, Russian civilians usually trend toward the southern boarder. And for obvious reasons, I’m sure living in Northern Russia requires a level of survival skills that makes you basically your own sovereign.
And I’m not saying no one lives in Inland China, or that no one lives in Northern Russia. However, the people that do are so completely removed from the rest of the population, they’re probably like survivalists or practice very traditional farming that they are their own society. I’d bet policy makers don’t really take them into account because they 1.) Don’t vote and B.) wouldn’t follow those laws anyway.
America is a little different.
Tumblr media
Like, out two biggest populations (New York and LA) are on OPPOSITE SIDES OF THE COUNTRY. They have two different time zones, opposite weather conditions, opposite immigration populations (past and present). We sort of die out in the Great Plains there, but that’s where we keep VEGAS.
I say this as someone from the Midwest (look at the pretty lakes on top there) who went to college in Florida (the penis looking shape at the bottom right corner) at a school with a HUGE international population. And may I say, sometimes I related more to my international friends from Germany or Columbia than I did with an American from Tampa.
Which is sometimes what annoys me about international people who have a thought or two to say about American laws or policy. Like yes, we’re bad at it. We got a lot of things we gotta tinker and fix, just like all other countries. However, YOUR country probably has a bit more of a cohesive culture or political background on certain topics. Maybe there are more conservative Chinese people, but you probably all agree that you’re concerned about shipping and nautical trade because *94% of you are on the ocean*. And I don’t believe for a SECOND that no one in Northern Russia doesn’t have a fucking gun. THERE ARE VERY LARGE BEARS THAT RUN VERY FAST.
Making federal laws in any country is hard, but American politics are a totally different monster.
Even an Asian American from New Jersey will have a completely different experience than an Asian American from Arizona. Queer people in Montana couldn’t *fathom* the culture and subcultures of people in New York. They don’t even know they exist. Even look at the hip hop community: East Coast and West Coast and Midwest and Atlanta are basically different planets, and they’re the same genre of music. And don’t even get me STARTED on religion. Hey Britian, so you know what a Mormon is? Because we have one state that gets 6 electoral votes in our elections that is just one VERY SPECIFIC protestant religion of Christianity that thinks drinking liquor is a sin. Energy Drinks are very very very popular there. (Shoutout Utah, I see you.)
So yeah, a New Yorker is going to prioritize public transportation reform, while a governor from Montana wants to protect National Parks. California people do not understand Midwest Hunting as a recreational activity, and I thought the Everglades were mountains until I went to Florida and realized they were swamps. My Floridian friends made fun of me, but they don’t know there are 5 Great Lakes so *raspberry noise*.
So yes we have a culture. We have 100,000,000 MAJOR cultures that make no sense and will never interact, because our cities are father away than some of you are to other continents.
True American culture was the friends we made along the way. 💛

Power Couple Part 2 - CC
Tumblr media
Pairing: Caitlin Clark x Reader
Summary: You and Caitlin get to support each other at the Olympics (based on THIS request)
Warnings: I actually don't think there is any, fluff
Word Count: 2.8k
Power Couple
Sweetbans Masterlist
AN: Another cute one here for ya!
Time passed faster than either of you knew it could. Both you and Caitlin were named Rookie of the Year, you in the WNSL, and Cait in the WNBA.
Since then, the two of you have found two houses when you originally thought it would have only been one. A nice townhome in Chigaco and a neighborhood home in Indiana. Where you lived depended on who was in season. Both of your managers were very supportive of the two of you and would help organize your off-season life around where you would be. It would still require travel but your home base was still with each other.
Since that initial conversation about marriage, the two of you talked about it a little more. Most of it was just talk about what life would be like after the two of you are married but you have yet to see a ring. It was nice that it wasn't something that either of you needed right away to solidify your relationship. The two of you had been through so much already that you knew the other was stuck but in the best way.
Caitlin ended up proposing about halfway through your next season - all thanks to your manager. He was able to help her set it up without you having any idea it was coming - and you were thankful it wasn't on any sort of public platform.
The two of you actually ended up having a really small wedding in the back of her parent's house with just your immediate families. It was perfect and could not have been fitted better for the two of you. Of course, you had a celebration with both of your teams after your honeymoon which just turned into one giant party.
You surprised Caitlin with a golden retriever on her 24th birthday. It had taken you a little longer than you had hoped to get a dog but trying to navigate life through rookie season and what the W looked like for both of you was too much to add another character into the mix. But when things began to feel more of a routine, you knew it was time to add to your family.
You had planned the whole day for the two of you. Starting with a brunch with her team then off to a few more little things that the two of you enjoyed, eventually making your way back to Chicago. The night ended at a rooftop bar overlooking the water. At the end of dinner, the two of you sat there talking about life, reminiscing on all of your favorite memories.
"Thank you for today, babe," Caitlin says. The two of you are sitting with your chairs next to one another, looking out at the way the Chicago lights hit the lake.
You hum and look down at your watch - a gift from Caitlin for your birthday last year.
"How would you feel about a little walk along the water before turning in for the night?" You ask.
"That sounds perfect." She says as the two of you head from the restaurant.
The two of you walk hand in hand along the water. Something begins to approach you. You are intently watching Caitlin as the little figure makes its way towards you.
You hear Caitlin gasp and bend down. The puppy runs right up to her.
"Look at you! Where did you come from?" Caitlin is talking to the overly excited pup who just wants to cover her with kisses.
"How peculiar..." you say letting your girl take in the moment.
"Who do you belong to little one?" Caitlin asks, laughing at the puppy who is starting to settle down.
"Why don't you take a look at its collar?" You say, Caitlin just now noticing the collar around the dogs neck.
She took a second to orient it so she could read it. The second she does, her face shoots up to look at you.
"You did not." She says in complete disbelief. A smiling beaming on her face.
"I did not what?" You ask, pretending to be clueless as to what she could be talking about.
"You did not get me a puppy for my birthday." She says picking up the puppy.
"Why wouldn't I?" You say as you come over and pet the little one. The puppy gets excited again picking up a familiar smell.
"He is all ours," you say as you kiss the puppy's head and it licks your face.
Welcoming a pup into your life was an easy transition. Your favorite thing became seeing Caitlin curled up on the couch with the pup. They would often nap together and you would always snap a picture. On the flip side, Calitin would always find you in your yard kicking around a soccer ball with the little one (who was not so little anymore). She would always take videos of you scoring on your furbaby and running around the yard celebrating with your pup closely behind, jumping up and down just as excited as you were.
The next year or so was one of the best years for the two of you both professionally. It's also the year that the two of you get to see each other the most.
The Fever is on the uprise as they are looking to head to playoffs. It will be Cait's second time going to playoffs with this team. Last year was their first, getting knocked out in the second round. Watching them struggle to get their footing during Caitlin's rookie year to seeing them dominate on the court now has been a testament to the work Cait and the team have put in. It was also an amazing accomplishment for your girl to get Rookie of the Year and then MVP in her second year. As much as people wanted it to be in the same year - that was never Cait's expectation for herself. She just kept pushing to become better. You saw it, the team saw it and the world saw it. Not only that - but the expansion of the W that came with the up-rise of support is a continuous reminder of the effect that your girl has had and continues to have.
Your team has also benefitted from the rise in women's sports. It was neat to see the influx of fans in women's soccer in the US. It started with your team in Chicago. The spike happened drastically as Caitlin began attending your games - part of you felt like your manager had some sort of political agenda when he began talking to Cait but soon saw the genuine friendship that built between the two. The fanbase grew, not as much as women's basketball, but grew enough to have a few team additions to the US over the years.
Now the two of you are headed to the 2028 Olympics being held in CA. The last time the Olympics were held in Los Angeles was in 1984 (which is just over 50 years from when the Olympics were first in LA in 1932).
When teams were announced, it came as no surprise to either of you. Both of you were at the 2024 Olympics but on the second-string team - not getting much playing time. This year would be different, this year both of you were going as the face of your sports. Both of your teams had an all-star line knowing gold was within reach.
Being at the open ceremony and walking out to represent the USA while the Olympics were being held here was an experience you know would never be matched. It would never top the first time the two of you represented the USA but this would be a special one.
The two of you are standing next to each other the whole time, your respective teams close by. One thing that your relationship has opened the door to is relationships with the girls in your sports. Often times when Caitlin would come to support your games, she would bring a few teammates along and they would hang with the team after. You did the same with your teammates. Your two teams just naturally became one big family. It was nice to see that happen even within the USWNT and USAWBB teams. There was much less time acclimating but your two teams bonded thanks to your relationship.
It was the next morning when the media took to pointing out the two of you in LA together.
Looking through your feed - everything is about the Olympics. What catches your eye is a picture of you and Caitlin standing next to each other, both of your hands behind your backs looking up at what was happening in the opening ceremony. You scroll through to then see some photos of you exploring LA, one at the beach and one with the two of you shopping. They were all cute photos and you lean over to Caitlin who is scrolling on her phone.
"The first one is my favorite," you say as she takes a look at the photos.
"They are all my favorites," she says examining each photo. "But ya, that first one is fire."
She hands your phone back to you and sets her phone down turning to face you.
"How are you feeling about game 1?" She asks.
"I am feeling pretty good. Excited mostly. I am ready," you say as you take one of her hands into yours. "You?"
"I am ready." She says. "I feel more ready than I ever have." Her fingers now playing with yours.
You each have your own rooms but opted to stay in one, only using the second if really necessary - which neither of you foresaw needing.
Caitlin was the first to play out of the two of you. It was funny that you were always more nervous for her to play than she was and vice versa. When she was on the court - there was no doubt in anyone's mind that she didn't belong there and her lack of nerves came from her confidence in her ability and love. For you, it was growing up on the field - knowing who you are on the field never affected who you were off the field.
The way the Olympics set it up this year was better than the last time. There were special box seats for other athletes to come watch - not needing to hide or get bombarded by fans. Although you always made a point to go sign some autographs and take photos with those who have traveled to come and see you.
You brought some of your team along to watch Caitlin's team.
The level of play was so much fun to watch. You were cheering on Cait and the other women so much that one of your teammates had to tell you multiple times to calm down so you wouldn't lose your voice the following day.
They are down in the first two quarters but make a comeback in the third. The fourth was just a battle of who wanted it more.
The US took home the first win and could not be more proud of Caitlin and her team.
After the game, you ran up to her, crashing right into her.
"Watching you on the court will never get old," you say to her.
She lets out a laugh.
"I sure hope not babe, because I am nowhere near done." She says. "That one was too close for comfort for me."
"You were all adjusting and seeing what it's like to play on this sort of stage - the next one will be even better," you say letting her go.
The girls on your team all congratulate Caitlin and her team. They all begin talking about how they are stoked to come to watch your team play for the first time tomorrow.
As you all walk out - Caitlin makes time to sign some autographs and talk so some of the young girls who came out to watch them play.
You are pulled to the side by someone from ESPN and they ask if they can ask you a few questions. You nod saying you have time for one or two. This wasn't the first interview you had since coming to LA but you knew it would be the first one where you were going to get asked about your girl.
"How does it feel getting to be here not just playing for your country but watching Caitlin also represent the USA?" The reporter asks.
"It is almost surreal." You say. "I mean it is one thing to be here to represent our country but brings it to a whole new level getting to be here to support Caitlin. I could not be more proud of her."
"She was incredible in the US's first game against Japan. She really led the team well today." The reporter says and continues. "There has already been a handful of photos going around of you and Caitlin at the opening ceremony and out and about in LA. The two of you were named the W power couple during both of your rookie years and now you are here at the Olympics. Can we expect you two to now be the US Olympic power couple?"
You laugh at the question. It still is crazy to you how much attention your relationship has gotten even after all these years.
"It has been fun seeing how much the media loves our relationship," you say in a fun manner. "I mean at the end of the day I will be there to support Caitlin whenever possible and I know she would do the same. It is something really special that we are both here representing our country and being able to support one another on this platform is one that neither of us will ever forget. It is always nice to have your biggest fan with you as you take on the world in your sport."
"Well, we look forward to seeing Caitlin cheer you on tomorrow as you take on Zambia." They say and you thank them, making your way back to Caitlin.
Over the next few days, you and Caitlin switch off going to watch each other play gaining another huge following of people bringing back the nickname 'US power couple'. On the days the two of you didn't have games, you both would go out and explore the city. Most of your time is spent at the beach or going to watch other US games.
The media ate up every time the two of you were out, knowing the other wasn't far behind. The attention the two of you held was even more than your rookie year.
It is the last few days of the Olympics that has you excited. Both you and Caitlin. You are about to head into your final game, hoping for a spot on the podium.
As you are getting ready, you put your wedding ring on a safety pin and pin it on the inside of your jersey. You would pin it on the inside of your jersey while Caitlin would tie it into her shoelace. It was a way to have each other on the court or field.
Your last game of the series was the most challenging let. Both teams put in all they have for their country. The game goes into overtime with your team coming out on top at the end of it.
You don't remember much after the game but that night you see your mom has sent you a video.
Opening the message from her, you see a link to an article. As you open it, it is an article that someone has written about your relationship with Caitlin dating back to that first photo in high school. You scan through it seeing as they have included all of your milestones. At the end of it, you notice they have included your time together in LA. The last photo of the article mirrors the very first photo the world has of Caitlin supporting you.
It is a photo taken, field level with your hand raised in the air, yelling after your final win. Right behind you, you see Caitlin with her hands in the air, mirroring your excitement in the US support section. Whoever wrote the article must have been following the two of you for a while now. You look and see that they included a side-by-side of your senior year and today with the caption - 'Once a fan, always a fan'.
You save the photo and throw your phone away from you curling up next to your girl.
"Forever and always, right babe?" You ask.
"Forever and always," Caitlin responds, kissing the top of your head.
AN: CUTE. Let me know your thoughts. And as always, thank you for your love and support 🤍

Oblivious Eddie
This is kind of the opposite of @ladykailitha's current story. It turned out a lot longer than I anticipated lol. Featuring the screaming match that you guys voted on! I hope you guys like it and please share your thoughts in the comments!
~*~*~*~
Steve was at his wit’s end. Things were now back to normal in the summer after the supernatural happenings of the Upside Down in the spring. The older teens had graduated from high school (Eddie included), the younger kids were off at camp or work or rehab respectively, and Steve was working his usual shift at Family Video.
He was alone today since Keith was out of town on vacation and Robin was touring the campus at Indiana State. He was bored out of his mind. The entire day, he’d had a mere four customers with plenty of time to rewind the returned tapes, organize the shelves in a way Robin would hate, and take a variety of magazine quizzes. He now knew that his spirit animal was a golden retriever, Tom Cruise would date him for his personality, and that his zodiac sign would find fortune in the next month.
However, if something interesting didn’t happen in the next ten minutes, he was going to do something drastic like pull his hair out or something. As the minutes ticked on, he started getting worried. Steve prided himself on being a man of his word and he made a decision which meant he had to stick to it. But did it count if it was a thought to himself? Would he have to pull his hair out by the clump to prove a point to his own brain? Maybe he-
His spiral was cut off by the jingle of the door’s bell. Steve let out a sigh of relief, “Welcome to Family Video, is there anythi- Eddie! Hey man, what’s up?”
Eddie had gotten a part-time job at Thatcher Tire and was trying to bring in some money from work of the legal variety. He said it was time to make money like an honest man and develop the good habits of the working class. Steve thinks that Hopper threatened him about the drug dealing and Eddie had no choice but to abide by his rules because he was the one who cleared his name in the media and with the cops. Either way, Eddie should be at work but instead he was walking straight towards Steve with a swish to his hips.
“Heya Big Boy, guess what.”
“What?” Steve asked in curiosity. He didn’t know what would make Eddie so happy but his face was nearly splitting with the force of his beaming grin.
“I got a call from a concert venue in Indy and they want Corroded Coffin to perform! They said that my notoriety from Spring Break could work as publicity and bring in more people. They want us to play this weekend!” Eddie was practically jumping up and down in excitement.
Steve hopped the counter in order to envelop Eddie in a hug, “congratulations man! What did the kids say? Are they excited for you too?”
Eddie pulled back slightly, just enough to place his hand on Steve’s shoulder and look him in the eye whilst pulling a strand of hair from its position stuck in his mouth. “The kids? I don’t know, I came directly here to tell you.”
The comment in Eddie’s earnest tone caused butterflies to flutter in Steve’s stomach. He wanted to tell him first? That’s so sweet. Then he shook his head, it wasn’t sweet. It was just a dude telling his bro some exciting news. That’s all.
“They’re going to be thrilled, Eds! You’re going to do great, I wish I could see it.”
“That’s kinda why I’m here. Would you, Steve Harrington, do me the honor of watching me perform the most metal concert ever in a dingy venue in Indy this weekend? I’ll be honest with you, I’m a little nervous and having you there would make me really happy.” Eddie looked at him with the biggest puppy dog eyes he could muster, trying to persuade Steve to go. And honestly, he didn’t even have to. As soon as he had told Steve about the gig, his mind started thinking over blackmail he could use to get Keith to cover his shift.
But, as he looked into Eddie’s pleading eyes and pouty lips, all he could think about was how much he wanted to kiss him. Which… what the fuck?! Steve wasn’t gay, he liked boobies! He still liked boobies! But now he thinks he liked the picture of Tom Cruise in the magazine from earlier and maybe Matthew Broderick on the movie poster over there and definitely Eddie, fuck. Steve needed to have a mental breakdown, STAT.
“Fine, yes, I would be honored to go with you. Now, get out of here and tell the kids. They’re going to be thrilled,” Steve said as quickly and nonchalantly as he could muster in the face of his fast-approaching sexuality crisis.
“Yay! Thanks Stevie, I swear you’re going to love it. I’ll see you tomorrow for movies and beer at mine, right?” Eddie asked over his shoulder while walking to the door.
Steve felt like he was being strangled as he watched Eddie’s ass walking away, “yep, I’ll be there. See you later, Alligator!”
The second Eddie’s van drove out of the lot, Steve was rushing to lock the door and turn the closed sign. He needed to have a breakdown in peace. He slid down the wall of the disgusting Family Video bathroom and let the pent up sobs explode out of him. He knew he was freaking out over nothing but he couldn’t help it. It felt like in the few minutes it took for Steve to realize he liked guys, his entire world had changed. He was an outsider now, a queer, a freak. Deep down, he knew there was nothing wrong with being gay. Love is love. But why him?
Honestly, this wasn’t the worst thing he’d gone through. Yeah, he couldn’t be open with his love for another dude without being targeted which sucked. But he fought literal monsters with a bat and came out of it relatively unscathed. So this obviously wasn’t the end of the world.
Steve tried to think of what Robin would say in this moment but couldn’t come up with anything. He felt a rush of irrational anger at her because of it. Why did she choose to tour a college campus now? She was already planning on leaving him behind and now she missed his crisis when she was supposed to be there with him? Ridiculous, some platonic soulmate she was.
After another several minutes of freaking out, he started to calm down. This wasn’t an awful thing despite his initial thoughts. He knew Eddie was gay after one two many beers and a miniature freak out on Eddie’s part. And he knew his friends should be okay with it. And Eddie was amazing, they went through the same things, and they’ve bonded over their matching bat scars. Looking back, maybe that’s why Steve hasn’t been able to get a girlfriend in months… because he like-likes Eddie!
A plan started to form in Steve’s mind. He was going to woo Eddie and show him what it would be like to have the full ‘Steve Harrington Dating Experience’. He’d flirt, take him on dates, the whole shebang. And when Eddie inevitably fell for him, they could be boyfriends. With the plan in mind and the crisis averted, Steve left the bathroom, opened the door to the shop, and continued plotting for the rest of his shift.
This would be a piece of cake.
~*~*~*~
This was much harder than Steve had originally anticipated. He did not consider how utterly unobservant Eddie was or how oblivious Eddie would be to his affections. Steve had been flirting with this fucking guy for a month now and he was no closer to making him his boyfriend.
He’d started smooth the night after his breakdown when he and Eddie watched movies and smoked weed in his trailer. Steve had given Eddie a compliment on his outfit, brought beers, and rested his arm on his shoulder during one of the scarier movies. What did Eddie do? Nothing! Steve thought he might’ve seen the barest hint of a blush when he wrapped his arm around him but it was gone before he could check to make sure. So he vowed to spend more quality time with him to be more obvious.
The next time was at Eddie’s concert. Steve drove Eddie’s van with Eddie and the rest of the van the entire way to Indy. During the drive. They kept up conversation about metal music, summer plans, and the kids. At one point of the drive, Steve straight up grabbed Eddie’s hand and intertwined their fingers. Eddie didn’t even break his train of thought and continued speaking, rubbing his thumb along Steve’s knuckles. Steve couldn’t even focus on listening as if Eddie’s thumb rubbing circles didn’t make Steve want to stick his fingers in his mouth. Physical touch was also not affecting his guy.
He tried words of affirmation next and those didn’t work either. His flirts initially started small. He would compliment Eddie’s clothes, his hair, or the things he liked. Then they escalated to comment on his character, his personality, and ‘how adorable he was’. Yesterday, Steve literally told him that his ass looked great in his black jeans but would look better out of them. That statement made Eddie’s jaw drop and he let out a loud guffaw before continuing his conversation like Steve hadn’t just implied that he wanted to see his bare ass. Son of a bitch.
He was trying out acts of service when Eddie called him out. Steve had been doing the dishes at the Munson trailer while he waited for Eddie’s shift to end when he came in. And he came in hot. He slammed the door behind him and waved his hands around in flailing outrage.
“Harrington, what the actual fuck! What are you even doing? You’re so fucking confusing!” He screamed as he saw Steve scrubbing at a stain on a white cutting board.
Steve whipped around to look at him and narrowed his eyes. He was the confusing one? He’d been flirting with this dumbass nearly every day for a month and getting nowhere. “I’m confusing? That’s rich coming from you.”
Eddie blinked in shock before his lips pulled back in a snarl. “First of all, nothing about me is rich. Second of all, yes it’s you that’s confusing! You’ve been fucking flirting with me for weeks and no you’re doing my uncle’s dishes! That’s confusing.”
“Why is it confusing? I’m doing the dishes because you weren’t home yet and I needed something to do. I’m flirting with you because I like you. What’s confusing?” Steve was legitimately confused at this line of questioning and he really didn’t understand why Eddie was yelling.
“You like me? Newsflash- you’re straight. You’re the straightest person that I have ever met. I don’t know why you keep flirting with me or what angle you’re trying to play here but I’m not interested in being your experiment, Harrington.” Eddie yelled at him, his finger pointing at Steve accusingly before moving to hug himself in self-comfort.
Steve saw his discomfort but elected to act defensively and yell back at him. “I’m not straight, I never said I was and you never asked! I like both and it’s really shitty of you to try and tell me who I like when you have no idea what’s going on!”
Eddie opened his mouth to talk but Steve plowed on, “your whole schtick is nonconformity and sticking it to the fucking man but you draw the line at me liking guys and girls? Maybe I don’t like you as much as I thought I did. You’re obviously just as rude and judgmental as everyone else. And you’re welcome for the dishes, fucker.”
Eddie grabbed his arms as he went to move past. “Harrington, Steve, Stevie. I’m sorry, please just listen to me. Steve!”
Steve jerked his head to the side to glare at him. “What?”
“Look, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to yell at you or not be appreciative of you washing our fucking dishes. I just, I didn’t know you liked both and I was losing my mind the past few weeks because I couldn’t figure out if you were flirting with me or if it was just you being a good friend or if you were playing a prank or something. I’m sorry and I do appreciate you,” Eddie was biting his lips nervously and his hand was still wrapped around Steve’s upper arm. He looked earnest and like he genuinely regretted his actions.
Steve sighed, “I’m sorry too, I didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable-”
“I’m not uncomfortable! I was just really confused and I didn’t know what was happening. But uh, I like you too.”
Steve’s eyes met Eddie’s. “You do?”
“Hell yeah, man. You were my gay awakening in middle school. That’s why I’ve been so frustrated this past month. I didn’t know if I was imagining it or if I actually had a shot,” Eddie chuckled.
Steve stepped closer to him and put his hand on the back of Eddie’s neck. “You definitely have a shot.”
And then, Steve pulled Eddie’s face closer to his own and their lips smashed in a kiss. Eddie groaned as their teeth gnashed in the bruising kiss. When they finally pulled apart, they pressed their foreheads together and breathed in the same air. Steve whispered, “you were my gay awakening too.”
Eddie’s answering cackles were so loud, Max came over to tell them to shut the hell up. She got a free front-row seat to their liplock and let out a scream so high-pitched that the window glass quivered before running back to her trailer. On the bright side, they wouldn’t have to come out to the kids.

Can you do a Dogs of Ambrose?
Dogs of Ambrose
Jonesy. You know her. You love her. The Sinclair Brothers worship her. She is the pack leader and the mayor of this town. If she doesn’t like the dog that comes to town or is attacked by another dog, the Sinclairs will get rid of it. No questions asked.
Indiana Bones (Indy). He’s a brown and white pit bull with the biggest heart ever! Vincent and Lester came up with that name and Bo loves it! He loves digging and digging and digging and digging and digging. He comes home with bones like deer bones and skulls. Indy and Jonesy are married.
Bo-utiful. She’s a white and black hound dog that sits in Bo’s shop. She hangs out with Bo all day either by playing, sleeping, or just being there with him. She’s the sweetest doggie ever.
Beaver. This light brown lab-German Shepard mix was found by Lester while he was beaver hunting up north. He decided to bring him home after Beaver jumped into his truck and barked at him.
Peach. She’s brown, grey, and black mut that always brings a smile to anyone. Bo’s having a bad day? She’ll do a little dance. Vincent is sad? She gets him to smile. Lester having a bad day? She’ll run and bring the biggest stick every! A tourist taking their last breaths and scared? She’ll lay next to them and put her head on their chest, staying until the heartbeat fades.
Sunny. He’s a sweet little golden retriever that Lester found in the kill pit. Shy at first but will love you until the end. Will steal your food.
Alaska. She’s a red husky that Vincent adopted after he killed her owner for tying it outside in the heat (it was 102 that day). He takes her on walks and lets her sleep next to him between Jonesy and him.
Canon. Just as the name implies, he’s a canon. He’s Bo’s hunting beagle, and he’s good at bird and gator hunting. He runs fast, kills fast, and eats fast. Play fetch with him! He loves it!
Pepper Flaks. Vicncent’s not a fan of little dogs, but this grey and gold Chihuahua won his heart after she did a little dance. Her favorite food is pepper jack cheese, grilled green pepper, red peppers, bell peppers, pepper flacks— if it has peppers in it, she’ll eat it.
Cyclone. The oldest sausage dog you’ll ever see. He’s been alive longer than the twins, so that should say something. He hardly walks or moves around, but moves just enough to show he’s alive. Survived 3 heart attacks, a broken rib, 4 coyote fights (he’s won all 4), and has killed snakes. His back legs don’t work, going blind, and he can’t hear well, but he’s a happy boy, and he’ll be damned if he doesn’t outlive the Sinclairs.
Bluey. She’s a blue and grey puppy heeler :3 . Lester found her and is forever happy with this little girl. She loves going on adventures with her sister and hanging out with Jonesy.
Bingo. She’s a golden and orange heeler. She is sisters to Bluey. She loves running in circles and “singing” with Indy.
Now, the strangeness of the 3 Black German Shepherds and how they were found:
Demon. This one-eye black German Shepard is silent and scares everyone. Vincent found him curled in the back of the church under a destroyed cross, sleeping under the Virgin Mary statue. He stays near Vincent most of the time and attacks victims if they fight Vincent. (If you squint real hard, the dog looks like Vincent.) No one knows where he came from or how he got into the locked church.
Devil. Looks exactly like Demon, but has all of its eyes. He’s loud and friend, but don’t get him mad or in a corner; he will bite. Bo took him in as his own. Devil walks along side Bo and only answers to him and no one else. (If you squint, Bo and him are the same). Again, no one knows how or when these pups got in the church or how the cross got burned. But does anyone know why the Virgin Mary statue had water coming from her eyes?
Saint. A black German Shepherd with a little white cross on his head. Lester found her on the same day when Demon and Devil were found, but Lester didn’t know about it. He learned about them when he brought Saint over a day after. Lester woke up, made coffee, and and looked in his living room. Underneath the ram skull on his wall, Saint laid asleep. The doors were locked and there was no way Saint could’ve just came in. Saint is the sweetest, happiest, cutes puppy every! He loves people and being around Lester. Enjoys the roadkill pit, too.

Goldendoodle Puppies for Sale in Indiana: Find Your Perfect Companion
Tumblr media
Goldendoodles are an increasingly popular choice for families seeking a friendly, intelligent, and hypoallergenic dog. Known for their affectionate nature and charming appearance, Goldendoodle puppies make wonderful companions. If you’re searching for Goldendoodle puppies for sale in Indiana, you’re in the right place. This guide will help you understand what to expect when looking for Goldendoodle puppies near me and how to find the perfect addition to your family.
1. Why Choose Goldendoodle Puppies?
Goldendoodles are a hybrid breed that combines the best traits of Golden Retrievers and Poodles. This blend results in a dog with a friendly, outgoing personality and a low-shedding coat that is ideal for allergy sufferers. Goldendoodles come in various sizes, including standard, miniature, and toy, making them adaptable to different living environments. Their intelligence and eagerness to please make them highly trainable, which is another reason why they are so popular among families and individuals alike.
2. Finding Goldendoodle Puppies for Sale in Indiana
When searching for Goldendoodle puppies for sale in Indiana, it’s important to consider a few key factors to ensure you find a healthy and well-adjusted puppy. Reputable breeders are essential for guaranteeing the health and temperament of your new pet. Look for breeders who provide transparency about their breeding practices and are willing to share information about the puppy’s lineage and health history.
In Indiana, you can find Goldendoodle puppies through various avenues, including local breeders, online platforms, and dog shows. Many reputable breeders in the state specialize in Goldendoodle puppies, offering a range of sizes and coat types. It’s beneficial to visit the breeder’s facility in person if possible, to meet the puppies and their parents. This allows you to assess the living conditions and ensure that the puppies are raised in a loving and clean environment.
3. What to Look for in Goldendoodle Puppies Near Me
When choosing Goldendoodle puppies near you, consider the following factors:
Health and Wellness: Ensure that the puppies have been examined by a veterinarian and are up to date on vaccinations and deworming. Reputable breeders will provide health clearances for the puppies’ parents and offer a guarantee for their health.
Temperament: Observe the puppies' behavior. They should be curious, playful, and social. A well-bred Goldendoodle will exhibit a friendly and outgoing demeanor.
Breeder Reputation: Research the breeder’s reputation by reading reviews and asking for references. A good breeder will be transparent about their practices and be happy to answer any questions you may have.
Socialization: Puppies that have been well-socialized with different people, animals, and environments are likely to adapt better to their new homes. Ask about the socialization practices used by the breeder.
Final Thoughts Finding the perfect Goldendoodle puppy involves more than just browsing for “Goldendoodle puppies for sale” online. It requires careful consideration of the breeder’s practices and the health and temperament of the puppies. Finding Goldendoodle Puppies in Indiana that suit your demands and way of life is quite possible. By taking the time to research and select a reputable breeder, you’ll ensure that you bring home a happy and healthy puppy that will be a cherished member of your family for years to come.

IF MORE PEOPLE REFERENCE SNOW BUDDIES FIRST, THE WORLD WOULD BE A BETTER PLACE.
Most people went for Balto, hence why it had been Frankie's first thought to use as a reference. But he seemed like he was more excited in the silly movie with the Golden Retriever and Husky puppies, so they'd give him that. They could tell there was something more in the brief intake of breath, but he was good at hiding it with that second shot. Good for him.
The movement was smooth, getting them between his broad body and the broad counter. The edge of it dug a smidge uncomfortably into the bare small of their back, but it was a discomfort they could ignore for the moment.
"I've never been to Indiana," they start with, tilting their head to the side to look at him curiously. They didn't even know anything about it, really. "The snow isn't so bad. We wear enough furs that you can barely tell the cold is there. Kinda like how I'm sure you never notice the cold on the ice."
They brought one hand up to brush over his jaw, thumbing a spot where he already had a bruise forming -- they'd seen that check into the boards, didn't realize it rattled his head so thoroughly.
"You don't have the face of someone who plays such a violent sport," they teased, thumb brushing now over the corner of his mouth. "I could see you playing disc golf, maybe." Though he certainly had the body for hockey.
⋆ ⋆ ⋆ ' Like Snow Buddies ? ! ' Scott asked, brown eyes widening and strong hand moving to clasp at Frankie's upper arm in excitement. He must have watched that film a million times over as a kid and only half of that was because of how obsessed his youngest cousin had been with it. His heart ached with the memory and the throb of pain that came with remembering how far away she and the rest of the Connors were now. With a sharp intake of breath, he swallowed the second shot in one.
' That's incredible, ' he continued and moved until they were between him and the bar so the pressing crowd of others at the club could find their way to the bartenders' assistants as well. His brain was a little slow from the alcohol but full of Frankie all over like they had stamped their way in already and put him in slow motion; a repeating jumble of their hair, their eyes, their mouth. He softened all over, ' you're brave then, to face the snow like that. I hate it — ' a genuine grin juxtaposing his words — ' I miss my sunny Indiana. '

Postcards
I’m not dead! Health has been kicking my ass, and so has this fic idea. I hope you enjoy your adventurer man content.
Illinois x GN!Reader, TW: none Words: 1218
Ever since your adventure together, you decided to keep in touch. Cell service wasn’t always available, so you both agreed to become pen pals. He’d write you letters or postcards from wherever he was in the world, sometimes sending you a small trinket or some other gift. You’d always write about it back to him, about how much you liked (or disliked) it. His sending address was always different, but he always assured you that he was getting your letters. Something about a friend that was house sitting for him or something along those lines. Marquis? You think that was the name, but you couldn’t be sure. As long as he wasn’t reading what you were sending, you didn’t really care. You looked forward to getting your mail, or the occasional text from him whenever he was in the airport. He’d send a selfie when he could, always sporting that charismatic grin and that stupid hat of his. But suddenly it was just, silence. He mentioned in his last text that you may not hear from him for a bit, that he was going on a “big adventure”. Something about scoring the biggest treasure of his career. You thought it would simply be another week or so, but it’s been months of nothing. No texts, no calls, no postcards, no letters. You wondered if maybe he got lost, or if this last one had been his final one. Until your phone begins buzzing, and you hear the rare but familiar chime of the Indiana Jones theme song. Your heart skips a beat as you pick up the phone frantically, your thumb missing the button to accept a few times. “Illy! Illy, where on Earth have you been! I’ve gotten nothing for months!” “I’m sorry, treasure. Just got a little caught up and didn’t have the time to mail the postcards I got for you. Have a big ol’ stack of them for you right in my hand.” He sounded out of breath, until you heard the slam of a car door, and his breathing slow, presumably he’s sitting down in it now. He gives some sort of instruction to the driver that you can’t make out, but you’re relieved just hearing his voice. “I’m gonna be on the road for a bit, why don’t you and I make up for lost time, no letter, just on the phone, here?” “Will you have service the whole time?” “Oh, absolutely, treasure. I’ll be okay. Just tell me how life has been.” As prompted, you begin telling him about all the things that have happened to you recently. How you got promoted and the guy who thought he was gonna get it is being all passive aggressive now and trying to undermine you, or how your car got hit by a rogue frying pan in an IKEA parking lot. He chuckles and offers his condolences, but as much as you try and pry, he insists he just wants to hear you talk. So you continue talking. About how you wanted to get a golden retriever puppy that you saw at the shelter near your work, name him “Nugget”. “That sounds like a perfect name, very fitting knowing you.” You beam at his compliment. The more you continue to talk, the better you feel. You make dinner as you’re on the phone with him, switching to Bluetooth earbuds so you can have your hands free. He spoke about how one day he’d like to cook with you. He enjoys cooking, but never has time with his job. You add it to a mental checklist of things to do with him, one day. For a few hours, you stay on the phone with him. Sometimes you were worried that you lost him, but he always assured you that he was still there if he was quiet for too long. It felt like he was there with you, and a big part of you wished he was. You hear the car stop, and the door open, and then slam shut again. He pays the driver, and you hear him hoist his pack onto his back, starting his trek to somewhere again. “Don’t sound so disappointed, sweetheart. I’m still on the phone with you.” “I know, but soon you won’t be. When will I see you again, Illy?” “I think sooner than you think~” You hear a knock at the door, surprising you. You open the door to see your adventurer standing in front of you, and watch as he hangs up the call in front of you. “Illy-” He lifts you up with his tanned arms, the shift of his shirt showing off his impressive farmer’s tan. You’re pulled up until you’re nose to nose with your adventurer, looking into each others’ eyes. You couldn’t help but get lost in his honey-golden eyes, that twinkles and shined as his infectious grin creeps back onto his face. “You came, you came to see me-” “I had to make sure my last adventure was for the most priceless treasure I could find. I’ve been all over the globe, but nothing has ever measured up to you~” A blush spreads across your cheeks, not used to the smooth talking that you used to simply brush off the last time you saw him. But, you couldn’t help but notice his face. Not the usual expression when he’s just trying to fluster you, a genuine smile, that he meant every word. Impatience gets the better of you, and you grab his face, pulling him in for a kiss. The kiss felt like all those years apart, all the letters, all the calls, the glimpses of him that you had been holding onto, and so much more. He was warm, like cinnamon, honey, and citrus tea. Soothing the harshest of colds, homey, and wonderful. And yours. You break from the kiss, both of you catching your breath as he sets you down. He guides you into the kitchen, setting a stack of postcards on the counter. He wasn’t kidding about the size, but you notice a lack of writing on them. “Will you go get your postcards for me, sweetheart?” “S-sure-” You move to the living room, grabbing the postcards you kept from the drawer or your desk. You bring them back to the kitchen, and he takes them from you gently. “I wasn’t able to send these in time, so I hope this will do.” He sets them up on the counter, overlapping them so only the first letter of the location was visible, carefully aligning their edges. You’re mesmerized as he works quietly, humming to himself. He steps back, guiding you gently by your shoulders to look at his work. You cover your mouth with a short gasp as you read it all out. “WILL YOU BE MY TREASURE FOREVER” He breaks the silence, rubbing your shoulders. “Sorry about the lack of punctuation, couldn’t find places that started with a comma or question mark~” He chuckles, but your lack of change in your expression begins to concern him. “Treasure…?” “Yes, Illy-” “Ye-” You turn around, pulling him down into a kiss that he happily reciprocates. “I’m not going anywhere without you, ever again. Or our little golden Nugget~” “Can we get him tomorrow??” “Anything for my precious treasure~”

Here's all the dogs my partner and I have talked about getting in the future (most of whom we will obvs never get lol):
English Cocker Spaniels. Several. If you follow me you probably know lol.
Papillon. Her name will be Entrapta, at Tom's insistence.
Mudi. I am promised one as soon as we have land. Still mourning the Almost puppy, after I had to pull myself off a breeder's waitlist. One day!!
Silken Windhound. Tom loves them. I contacted some breeders about getting one soon but then ... I realized we had to get an ECS. Tom likes Borzois too, but they are too big thanks, so I will take a Silken.
Shelpie. It's inevitable.
Saluki. I just think they're neat.
Bully mix. His name will be Thor. He will have a big wide head and a dumb toothy grin.
Sport mix bred for MAXIMUM DISC DRIVE. Her name will be Xena. She will have custom printed frisbees.
Aussie. They are probably what I actually want in a dog lol. I feel like I should try one in the Pure Form.
Just A Very Brown Boy. Big and hairy. He will be called Han Solo, Indiana, or maybe Gambit.
Two Smalls. Possibly terriers. Maybe Shelps. Havok (Wreaking Havoc) and Maehem (Making Mayhem).
Golden Retriever. Possibly named Luke Skywalker. Or Steve, but not after the one you think probably. I freaking loved handling one in rally class one time. Want one like him!! I'm afraid of the cancer though.
Mini Goldendoodle. Just Do(odle) it.
Yorkie. I want a fearless tiny terrier who can be easily put in a carry-on lol. Imagine a Yorkie who travels the world!
Jack Russell Terrier. "When I want a little beast to fuck me up."
Samoyed. They are so fluff. I know a breeder and I love her dogs and I wanted to take the puppy she handed me once and run lol.
Bichon. Or maybe a white mini pood. Her name will be Glinda, she will have a wardrobe of tiny tutus and she will be amazing at canine freestyle.
Poodle. Standard or Mini? I think we will get along well. Pretty much everything I like in my mom's little dog comes from the Mini Pood in her.
Bernese Mountain Dog. Tom loves them. I think they are too big and mostly want small and medium dogs. And they are a heartbreak breed.
Rough Collie. My dream dog as a kid. Because Lassie. My grandmother bred them, and her dog Sara followed me everywhere as a child and played with me endlessly. Nostalgia. Plus they are pretty, and laid back for herders.
