“Y/N…” A voice attempted to wake you from your slumber. You groaned, burying your face into the blankets; you just fell asleep and whoever was ruining your beauty rest better be worth opening your eyes.

“What…?” You hissed, opening your eyes to glare at the fawn irises staring at you, “Joo? Are you really just now getting home?” You turned your gaze to the clock that read a quarter past midnight before sitting up to face him.

“Scoot over. I want to cuddle.” He slipped out of his slippers while lifting up the blankets.

“Hey, hey, no. Go to the other side of the bed, this side is already warm.” You tried to push him away from your spot, but he flopped down into the warm space, pulling you into his arms, “Joo, I can’t sleep like this.” Your tried to wriggle out of his hold, but he only pulled you closer.

“Just this once, let me hold you until I fall asleep.” His voice that previously sounded coherent now sounded slurred and exhausted as if holding you let him finally relax.

“Fine… needy little turd.”

“Thank you, Y/N.” You finally gave in and relaxed into him, letting his arms pull you closer. His warmth spread through you, bringing you back to your tired state. You rested your head on his chest, the quiet rattle inside caused a snore to escape him, you didn’t want to admit it, but you loved to cuddle with Joochan. You always refused it at first because he was your best friend and that’s all you thought he wanted to be, but once you two shared a home together, things started to change. He became gentler, more caring, and understanding to you, not to mention more affectionate. Instead of ruffling your hair, he caressed your locks, his hugs became drawn out, he stole longing glances at you, and he even stole quick kisses from you, too. Pretending to hate everything he does has become a hassle since you had already fell for him—and you fell hard.

You let out a content sigh as you closed your eyes and ran your fingers over his chest, “Goodnight, Joochan.”

The yellowed and crisped page of the book on your lap had been held between your thumb and middle finger for about ten minutes now. Your back was against the plush brown couch, almost engulfing you, as your legs were bent, feet resting on the matching brown ottoman. You still had one last paragraph to read in order to turn the page, but your eyes were far more interested in the boy relaxing on the window seat in your living room. 

He was seated against the wall, a beige pillow behind him to support his lower back. His one leg was outstretched while the other was bent and being used as a stand for the book he was reading. He was wearing a snug brown sweater with a little orange fox embroidered on the front - a sweater you found so endearing as you always told him he resembled a fox. His eyebrows knitted into a frown as he remained engrossed in his book, the warm afternoon glow illuminating his skin through the window.

You and Joochan had been together for a while now, but his beauty and adorable quirks never failed to amaze you. You smiled to yourself before letting your eyes drop back down to the book in front of you. You mentally cursed yourself for getting lost in Joochan's presence as you had completely forgotten where you had stopped reading. 

"Am I more interesting than your book?" Your thoughts were cut off by Joochan's high and gentle voice. 

You looked up to see him now grinning at you, his book closed and placed next to him as his legs dangled over the edge of the window seat. You rolled your eyes at his comment, but nevertheless you felt your face heat up with embarrassment. 

"As a matter of fact, you are," you smiled as he hopped off his seat and made his way over to you on the couch, "you looked so… ethereal."

"Ethereal?" Joochan giggled, plopping down next to and taking your hand in his, "that's a new one."

"I'm running out of words to describe you Hong Joochan." You placed your book on the coffee table before cuddling up to his side. 

"Then you just need one word," Joochan had a mischievous grin on his face, "mine."

"Mine?"

"Yeah just say… I'm mine… wait no you're mine… no wait," Joochan brought his index finger up to his temple in confusion as he frowned, "mine… I'm yours?" 

"You're mine." You giggled at his cuteness and wrapped your arms around him. 

"Yes… and you're mine." Joochan laughed lightly before placing a sweet kiss onto your cheek.

“admit it, you like joochan!” said your best friend out of nowhere but you only rolled your eyes and continued doing your half-done maths homework. your original intention was to do it together though. “i saw how you look at him, even your eyes were sparkling! you know, this morning when we met in front of the school.”

“that doesn’t mean anything.”

“yeah, believe it or not, i know you’re totally head over heels for him.” she shrugged and went back to finish her homework finally. she didn’t say anything about this topic.

and that made up plenty of questions in your head which was seem to be unanswered. joochan has got your heart a long time ago, you admitted this to yourself but you tried real hard to deny. or at least to hide it from those who are the closest to you. you felt a bit embarrassed for liking a quite popular student in the school. and to make it even worse, he was one of your friends which you didn’t want to worsen or break. paranoia or not, you were terrified of being rejected. you didn’t want to loosen the kind of close and tight friendship of yours. you didn’t want to mess up the relationship between the two of you because of your adoration towards him. and you knew so well if you would confess your feelings to him, you would get into the friendzone.

or that’s what you thought.

even after you classes finished, you could only think about what to do. your friend made references to confessing, all day which made you more nervous than before. you wanted to focus on some other things that are completely not joochan but he came to your mind lot more times than usual. not to talk about how many times you had to face him. although you didn’t talk to him every time you two met on the hallways. but to twist the whole story, you had to spend your lunch break with him and his - which is yours too - friend group. you didn’t say any words though. everyone was suspicious of you because there weren’t any times when you would shut your mouth as the moodmaker of the group.

however, this time you were just eating quietly while listening to jangjun’s newest story of him and the new girl he had been trying to ask for a date. no one really cares about it, to be real honest. you had the courage to look at joochan a few times. of course as a secret because you wouldn’t have been able to deal with the situation after getting caught.

“meet you tomorrow.” you waved while saying goodybe to your bestfriend but she grabbed your wrist for one last time before heading home. “if you tell him what’s up between you guys, i will do your homework for the rest of the year!” she said believeing it would help you to come to a decision. “but if you won’t i will be the one confessing your feelings.”

with a devilish smile on her face she left you there, frozen by her words.

“damn, i hate you” was the first thing you could think of while watching his form slowly disappearing from your sight. you were trying to collect your courage while being slightly nervous. you were just about to finally go home but something prevent you from doing that.

and that was hong joochan and his engaging smile on his face which made your heart flutter. you didn’t care about the silly smile that constantly came to your face, it didn’t matter anymore. there’s a chance you guys would break everything that connects the two of you by the end of the day. and in that case, it wouldn’t matter how dumb you looked like.

“hi! should i walk you home?” he stood by your side and you just nodded as a response because you weren’t able to say anything. “are you good though? you were a bit... odd? today.”

“everything’s okay” you said quietly and walking beside the taller boy, you could only think about how to confess for real finally.

“are you sure?” he looked down a bit suspicious which you responded to with a nod. a not so convincing nod. “i mean, no. nothing’s okay.” you said suddenly, and it attracted joochan’s attention. his worried looks weren’t so encouraging either.

“what’s wrong?”

“what’s wrong? there’s nothing wrong” you shook your head but finally managed to explain everything. “i’ve just had enough of starting every god damn day with the struggles of not being able to confess to a person i really like. to simply not being able to tell him how much i love and adore him, how important his presence is in my life. i have to see his sweet smile every day, hear him saying kind words and i don’t have any chance to tell him how much he bought my heart with all of these. i laugh at his dumb jokes, watch him as he flirts with others and i don’t have the guts to do anything against this.”

“at least i’m not the one who feels just the same” he mumbled and you raised your eyebrows, not really understanding the meaning behind it. “you are really dumb, for real. to be exact, you’re just blind, that suits this situation so much better.”

you were all confused and tried to get what he said a few seconds earlier but everything felt overly surreal.

“isn’t it clear that i like you?” you only heard this one certain sentence, the others weren’t that relevant anyways. you stopped not caring about where you are, only being able to look at joochan’s eyes full of adoration. “oh god, i’ve been trying to tell you this for a long time, but...”

“i was a coward to” you completed his sentence quietly and he only nodded getting one step closer to you.

“the guys always bothered me with the confessing but i couldn’t. jibeom even offered that he would pay for my food in the cafeteria for one whole month!”

“it’s weird ‘cause that’s what happened to me. if these dumbasses...”

“it doesn’t matter. the only thing that matters now in the middle of this pavement is that i’ve completely fallen in love with you. i can only think about giving you a damn kiss but i never had the guts to do so. because you know how...”

he couldn’t even finish his sentence, you were already standing on your tiptoes and gave him a quick peck on his lip. it made him stop immediately.

“if we are really dating i have to make it clear that you can’t do this out of nowhere.” said joochan and you could only laugh at him. everything felt easier.

“i can’t promise, joochan. maybe i will greet you like this every time we meet.”

“i don’t have anything against this idea. so... can i get one more?” he said with a smirk on his face.

you were so happy

and you didn’t have to worry about your homeworks for the rest of the year.

The mornings when two people in love waking up next to each other are the best thing that could ever happen. Y/N had been awake for a few minutes, looking at the sleeping Joochan lovingly. His bare face was so beautiful. She ran her fingers carefully through his hair, smiling when he opened his eyes. 

"Good morning, sweetie," he whispered to her. 

"Good morning, Joo. Can I tell you something?" she giggled, moving closer to him. 

"What?" Joochan looked at her, surprised. 

"You're the most beautiful thing I've ever seen, Joo," she blushed, hiding her face under the blanket. 

"And you are the most precious human I've ever know," he uncovered a blanket from her, smiling like an angel.

"And you're so cute when you are looking at me and smiling like an angel," she continued with her compliments.

"Can an angel kiss you?" Joochan made puppy eyes at his girlfriend, which began to blush. She kissed him instead of answering his question.

Y/N had problems at work and was very sad about it. Her boss was strict and very demanding, so he put in more work than she could do. She was lying on the couch, wondering if she should call her friend if he could come. After a moment, she dialed his number and waited for him to pick it up.

Hello?

Hi babe, are you busy right now?

We're going to eat with the boys now.

Oh, okay. Have fun!

Wait! Is something happening?

Nah. It's nothing.

You can't lie, sweetie. I'll tell the boys to go alone.

It's not that urgent. I don't want to ruin your plans.

Oh, okay then.

She took a deep breath and closed her eyes. Maybe if I take a nap, it'll be better. She thought to herself.

*half an hour later*

The doorbell woke her up from her nap.

"I'm coming," she yawned, standing up from the couch. Her steps were slow as she was still sleepy. Y/N peered through the peephole to see who it was. Joochan.

"Hi, sweetie," Joochan said with a big smile on his face as she opened the door.

"You canceled plans for me?" she said in surprise.

"You sounded sad, so I told the boys to go without me. I just want to see you happy. I bought you some sweets and chicken, and I'm here just for you today," he said, kissing her on the forehead.

Movies with your little brother

You and your younger brother waited for Joochan to arrive. It was yours and his day off, and your brother asked you if Joochan could come and watch some movies with you. You were surprised when he asked you. Because you thought he didn't like him. Yunseo was a 5-year-old boy who was sometimes scared of people. So you thought he was scared of Joochan too, but he told you that Joochan is very funny, and he wanted to get along with him more.  After a while of waiting, the ring bell.

"I'll go," Yunseo climbed off the couch and ran to the door.

"Hi, little men. I have some candies for you. Want some?" you heard Joochan, joking with your brother.

"Of course. You better hurry Y/N wanted to start the movie without you!"

"That's not true. Yunseo is lying," you laughed, meeting your boyfriend with a peck on lips.

"So should we play our first movie?" Yunseo climbed on the couch with sparkling eyes.

"Yes, do you want to sit between us so that you are not afraid?" Joochan asked him.

"I won't be scared! But yes," the first half he exclaimed, but the second he muttered for himself. You chuckled at how cute he was.

When the first movie ended, you looked at Joochan and Yunseo. Your little brother slept leaning against Joochan's torso.

"I think he likes me, right?" Joochan asked you, whispering.

"Of course he does. He was talking about spending time with you since he woke up," you said with another chuckle.

"Do you think I'll be a good dad sometime in the future?" Joochan asked you, blushing. You have talked several times about the future together, but never about children.

"You'll be the best dad ever, Joo."

Joochan hasn't seen his girlfriend in two and a half months since she was with her parents in Australia. She was afraid of them because of this pandemic situation and decided to stay with them for a while. Joochan didn't expect it to take that long, he was hopeless. He dialed her number and waited for her to pick it up. He was looking at the night sky while waiting. 

"Hey Joo-Boo, what are you doing?" 

"Hi, my sweetie princess. I am so sorry, I miss you, and I want to see you so badly. I wanted to be strong, but I can take it no more. Can we talk a little bit? What are you doing?" 

"I miss you too Boo. I was strong too, but now I am so scared. I have a lot of time now, but I prefer to talk face to face with you."

"Why are you talking nonsense? You're thousands of miles away. How are we supposed to talk to face to face? Should I call you on facetime?" 

"I am not talking nonsense. You look so handsome today, you know it? Is that the hoodie I gave you before I left?"

"Oh, thank you... wait. How do you know what I'm wearing right now?"

"You should also look at the street and not just the sky."

Joochan dropped his phone as he looked at the street where Y/N stood. He ran away from her sight. She quickly ran to the entrance of the building where his dorm was. She had a big smile on her lips when Joochan ran out of the elevator and then through the big glass door. Y/N jumped on him while wrapping her legs behind his back. He gave her a long kiss.

"You're here, princess!" Joochan laid her on the ground, stroking her hair. 

"I can't take the loneliness anymore. My parents told me to come back here. To you, Joo-Boo. I hope you aren't mad at me because I didn't tell you," Y/N looked down on her shoes. 

"Of course not! Will you stay with me tonight or are you going to yours?" he held her hand in his. 

"I'm here to stay with you. But only if the boys don't mind," Y/N smiled from ear to ear so that her dimples appeared.
