Meet Krista
(the second image was my first ever concept design of Krista so thats why it looks a tiny bit different than the first character sheet)
This isn't a full in depth analysis on Krista's backstory (if you want that look at this post where I talk about all of the warriors) its just talking about her in general as a person and her interests
So like I said in my previous post, Krista is a determined and strong person, though she can often overestimate herself and is at times a bit too cocky, while she obviously is physically strong she doesn't pay much mind to using certain tactics to fight against enemies other than just fighting them, she often immediately goes off punching people without thinking of her surroundings and any way she could outsmart her opponent.
Krista also can get overwhelmed easily when things go wrong, she also sometimes imagines bad things that could possibly happen in her head and then gets obsessive and worried over it even though it hasn't happened in real life.
Despite her flaws Krista is very nice and seems to be the type of person that can make friends easily.
Krista is the latest member to join the warriors, the warriors is a group of people who protect the fictional town of Lotville (the town is in Arizona), Lotville has a lot of supernatural occurrences but its always covered up by the authorities and made to look like natural occurrence such as accidents and murders, so the warriors sort out the supernatural stuff instead.
Krista is originally from Sweden, she went to Lotville because her older sister went off to study in America but then went missing, so Krista went looking for her and ended up joining the warriors.
Krista learned the basics of English when she first joined the warriors and she's decent at speaking the language though she does struggle to pronounce certain words.
Krista is really bad at drawing, she always makes people's heads look like eggs and she doesn't understand basic anatomy, this doesn't discourage her though and she always tries to do her best
Krista loves indian food, burgers, carrots, cucumbers, lemonade, banana smoothies and green tea
Krista hates chicken nuggets, pears, anything with nuts in, pickles, beer and water (but she drinks water anyways because you gotta stay hydrated)
Krista's favourite music artists are Blondie, Lady Gaga and Slipknot
Krista's favourite movies are The Matrix and The Mummy
Krista occasionally plays video games, but she's not that good at them so she mainly plays video games targeted at younger kids like Mario
Krista wants to read books but she's very bad at paying attention, most of the time when she's reading a page she immediately forgets what she just read afterwards and needs to read it again, so she often just watches the movie adaptations of books (as long as she's heard its good)
Krista has so many friends that when someone asks who her best friend is she can't answer because she doesn't want to make anyone feel left out (though she does mostly spend a lot of time with Sasha Koslov and Aiden Banks)
Sasha got the heart necklace for Krista's birthday because Sasha thinks she has a heart of gold
This particular story doesn't exactly have a 'main character' but if someone were to ever adapt this story into a movie, tv series or some other story based media I'd recommend either Krista or Aiden be the main character
Krista is attracted to men and women
Krista sometimes forgets to take off her gloves, she often sleeps with them on and sometimes she accidentally wears them in the bath/shower and doesn't realise for a long time
Krista prefers baths over showers but Aiden makes her take showers most of the time to save water (all of the warriors live in the same building which is basically an abandoned hotel turned into a base)
Krista isn't scared of spiders but she is scared of flies, she has an irrational fear of flies flying into her ear and laying eggs and then maggots start crawling around in her ear, she kind of likes spiders because they eat flies
Krista still goes trick or treating at 24 years old, this is her halloween costume:
(its a ghost girl apparently)
Krista was named after Historia's fake name Krista from the anime/manga Attack On Titan
Krista wears bandaids over her earrings during training because she takes too long to take them out

What Are the Different Styles of Women's Gold Earrings and How to Choose?
Women's gold earrings are a timeless and versatile accessory that can enhance any outfit. From classic studs to elaborate chandeliers, the variety of styles available allows women to express their personal taste and elevate their look. This guide will explore the different styles of women's gold earrings and provide tips on how to choose the best ones for various occasions and preferences.
Classic Gold Stud Earrings
Classic gold stud earrings are a must-have in every woman’s jewelry collection. These earrings feature a single gold nugget or gemstone set in gold, offering a simple yet elegant look. The understated design of studs makes them perfect for everyday wear and suitable for any occasion, from work to casual outings.
When choosing gold stud earrings, consider the size and type of gold. For a subtle look, opt for smaller studs in 14k or 18k gold. For a bit more sparkle, choose studs with diamonds or other gemstones. The versatility of gold stud earrings ensures they can complement any outfit, making them a staple in women's jewelry.
Hoop Earrings
Hoop earrings are another classic style that has remained popular over the years. Available in various sizes and thicknesses, hoops can range from small and delicate to large and bold. Women's gold hoop earrings add a touch of glamour and sophistication to any outfit, making them a versatile addition to your jewelry collection.
When selecting gold hoop earrings, consider the size that best suits your face shape and personal style. Smaller hoops are great for everyday wear, while larger hoops make a statement for special occasions. Additionally, the thickness of the hoops can impact the overall look, with thinner hoops offering a more delicate appearance and thicker hoops providing a bold, dramatic effect.
Drop Earrings
Drop earrings feature a design that hangs below the earlobe, creating movement and drawing attention to the face. These earrings can be simple or elaborate, with various designs that incorporate gemstones, pearls, or intricate metalwork. Women's gold drop earrings are perfect for adding elegance and sophistication to both casual and formal outfits.
When choosing drop earrings, consider the length and design. Shorter drops are ideal for a subtle look, while longer drops can create a more dramatic effect. Additionally, the incorporation of gemstones or pearls can add a touch of luxury and color, making drop earrings a versatile and stylish choice for any occasion.
Chandelier Earrings
Chandelier earrings are a more elaborate style, featuring multiple tiers or layers that create a cascading effect. These earrings are often adorned with gemstones or intricate designs, making them perfect for special occasions or formal events. Women's gold chandelier earrings can make a bold statement, adding elegance and glamour to your ensemble.
When selecting chandelier earrings, consider the length and weight. Longer chandeliers can create a dramatic effect, but be mindful of the weight, as heavy earrings can be uncomfortable for extended wear. Additionally, choose a design that complements your outfit and face shape, ensuring the earrings enhance your overall look without overwhelming it.
Huggie Earrings
Huggie earrings are small, thick hoops that "hug" the earlobe closely. These earrings offer a sleek and modern look, making them perfect for everyday wear. Women's gold huggie earrings are versatile and comfortable, providing a stylish yet understated accessory that can be worn with any outfit.
When choosing huggie earrings, consider the size and thickness. Smaller huggies offer a more subtle look, while larger huggies can make a statement. Additionally, some huggie earrings feature gemstones or other embellishments, adding a touch of sparkle to the classic design. The versatility and comfort of huggie earrings make them a popular choice for women seeking a stylish yet practical accessory.
Statement Earrings
Statement women’s gold earrings are designed to be eye-catching and bold, often featuring large designs, bright colors, or intricate details. Women's gold statement earrings can transform any outfit, making them perfect for special occasions or when you want to stand out. These earrings are often larger and more elaborate, drawing attention and showcasing personal style.
When selecting statement earrings, consider the occasion and your outfit. Bold designs are great for events where you want to make an impression, while more understated statement earrings can add a touch of elegance to a casual look. Additionally, consider the weight and comfort of the earrings, ensuring they can be worn comfortably for extended periods.
Dangle Earrings
Dangle earrings feature a design that hangs down from the earlobe, often with a decorative element that moves freely. These earrings can range from simple chains to elaborate designs with gemstones or intricate metalwork. Women's gold dangle earrings add movement and elegance to any outfit, making them a versatile choice for both casual and formal occasions.
When choosing dangle earrings, consider the length and design. Shorter dangles offer a subtle look, while longer dangles create a more dramatic effect. Additionally, the inclusion of gemstones or other embellishments can add color and luxury to the design, making dangle earrings a stylish and versatile accessory for any occasion.
Ear Cuffs
Ear cuffs are a trendy and modern style that wraps around the ear's outer edge, creating a unique and edgy look. These earrings do not require pierced ears, making them a great option for those who want to experiment with different styles without committing to a piercing. Women's gold ear cuffs can add a touch of sophistication and style to any outfit.
When selecting ear cuffs, consider the design and fit. Some cuffs are simple and sleek, while others feature intricate details or gemstones. Ensure the cuff fits comfortably and securely on your ear, and choose a design that complements your personal style and outfit. Ear cuffs are a versatile accessory that can add a contemporary edge to your jewelry collection.
Stud Earrings with Gemstones
Stud earrings with gemstones combine the classic simplicity of studs with the added sparkle and color of gemstones. These earrings can feature a single gemstone set in gold, offering a touch of elegance and luxury. Women's gold stud earrings with gemstones are perfect for adding a pop of color to any outfit, making them a versatile and stylish choice.
When choosing gemstone stud earrings, consider the type of gemstone and its color. Birthstones or favorite gemstones can add personal significance to the earrings, while the color should complement your skin tone and outfit. Additionally, consider the size of the gemstone, with larger stones making a bolder statement and smaller stones offering a more subtle look.
Pearl Earrings
Pearl earrings are a classic and timeless accessory that exudes elegance and sophistication. Women's gold pearl earrings combine the beauty of pearls with the luxury of gold, creating a stunning piece of jewelry that can enhance any outfit. These earrings are perfect for both casual and formal occasions, adding a touch of refinement to your look.
When selecting pearl earrings, consider the size and type of pearl. Smaller pearls offer a more delicate look, while larger pearls create a bold statement. Additionally, the type of gold can impact the overall appearance, with white gold providing a modern look and yellow gold offering a more traditional feel. The timeless appeal of pearl earrings makes them a must-have in any women's jewelry collection.
Vintage and Antique Earrings
Vintage and antique earrings offer a unique and nostalgic charm, often featuring intricate designs and craftsmanship from past eras. Women's gold vintage and antique earrings can add a touch of history and elegance to your outfit, making them a cherished addition to your jewelry collection.
When choosing vintage or antique earrings, consider the era and design. Art Deco, Victorian, and Edwardian styles each offer distinct looks, with different motifs and detailing. Ensure the earrings are in good condition and have been well-maintained. Vintage and antique earrings are perfect for women who appreciate the artistry and history behind their jewelry, adding a touch of timeless elegance to any ensemble.
Choosing the Right Earrings for Your Face Shape
Selecting the right earrings involves considering your face shape to enhance your features and complement your look. Women's gold earrings come in various styles that can suit different face shapes, from round to oval to square. Understanding how different earring styles interact with your face shape can help you choose the most flattering pair.
For round faces, long drop or dangle earrings can elongate the face, creating a balanced look. Oval faces can wear almost any style, but studs and hoops are particularly flattering. Square faces benefit from rounded designs like womens jewelry, which soften angular features. Heart-shaped faces can balance their features with teardrop or chandelier earrings. Choosing earrings that complement your face shape ensures a harmonious and flattering appearance.
Matching Earrings with Your Outfit
Choosing the right earrings involves more than just selecting a style you like; it's also about matching them with your outfit. Women's gold earrings can enhance different looks, from casual to formal, by complementing your clothing and other accessories.
For casual outfits, simple studs, hoops, or huggies add a touch of elegance without overwhelming your look. For formal occasions, chandelier or drop earrings can make a bold statement and add sophistication. Consider the color and style of your clothing, ensuring your earrings enhance rather than clash with your outfit. Coordinating your earrings with your outfit creates a cohesive and polished appearance, highlighting your style and attention to detail.
Conclusion
Women's gold earrings come in a myriad of styles, each offering unique charm and versatility. From classic studs to bold statement pieces, there's a perfect pair for every occasion and personal taste. By considering factors such as face shape, outfit, and personal preferences, you can choose earrings that enhance your look and express your individual style. Whether for everyday wear or special events, the right pair of gold earrings can elevate your ensemble and make you feel confident and elegant.

Spinning the decks with DJ Torz
New Post has been published on https://qnews.com.au/spinning-the-decks-with-dj-torz-2/
Spinning the decks with DJ Torz
Dykadellic founder DJ Torz speaks to QNews about the origins of one of LGBTQIA+ Sydney’s newest leading women’s events.
In the Sydney queer scene, many recognise that the nightlife scene is dominated by venues and spaces that predominantly cater towards gay men.
That is not to say the rest of the queer community isn’t made welcome, but it’s uncommon to find a venue or party that consistently has queer women as their first priority, not as an afterthought. Enter DJ Torz and Dykadellic.
Dykadellic is one of Sydney’s most prominent club events dedicated to queer women.
The club night focuses specifically on creating a space in the nightlife scene for lesbian, trans, queer and genderqueer people, plus their allies.
QNews: What led to the creation of Dykadellic?
DJ Torz: Originally, Dykadellic was created to fill a gap during the Women’s World Cup. We knew there were lesbians coming from all around the world to visit and watch the games, and they were on socials asking where the parties are.
At that time I was Social and Events Co-Ordinator for a women’s soccer club, and when a friend suggested I throw some parties in July 2023 I thought “How hard can it be?” (Turns out, hard!).
I spoke to a few venues and found the iconic Kinselas near Taylor Square with a crew of fantastically supportive staff and jumped right in, booking five Fridays in a row.
I was very fortunate that they saw my vision, and backed me. It was nerve wracking to begin with, wondering if anyone would show up.
On several occasions, during the peak of the night with the dance floor heaving and hundreds of people having a glorious night, my friend would pull me aside and say “Look. You created this.” I was so humbled many times. After those first five weeks, locals asked us to keep it going. What got you into DJing in the first place, and how would you describe your sets?
I’ve always been in awe of DJs. Over the years, I have quietly watched from the side at parties and wondered what they are doing.
It actually wasn’t even on my radar to step up to the decks myself. During one of those initial parties, two of my three DJs arrived late, which caused me such stress. There was a brief moment there where it seemed likely that a packed dancefloor was going to go silent as one DJ left and their replacement wasn’t there yet.
I felt like this was a gap in my skillset, that I needed to be able to step in. So last year I did the DJ course at Sydney DJ School with Nikki Carvell out of necessity.
Turns out, I love it. I love going through DJ pools and music libraries to find little nuggets of gold. I love listening to other DJs for inspiration. I love having my ear out as I go about my life, listening to music in shops and on the radio.
Building my set is such fun. And then, being behind the decks and watching the audience as I transition to drop a little surprise is such a thrill.
I’m still finding my style. At Dykadellic I have generally played disco house. I love curious and surprising mashups. I’m a big fan of drum and bass, dubstep, and techno.
I had a really great response to the set I played at our recently Mardi Gras party, where I snuck in a bit of Dom Dolla, Kita Alexander, Skillex, and Yaeji. I was also thrilled to play Ponymeadow’s newly released track “Over the Edge”.
I have met some wonderful people since I started Dykadellic, and DJ/producer Ponymeadow is one of them. It was such fun to see her response as she heard her own song playing through the massive sound system at Kinselas.
Some of my favourite DJ sets have been Alison Wonderland and Charlotte de Witte. Since then, having learned to DJ myself, watching Fred Again when he did his recent Australian tour is like seeing artists through a new lens.
I am going to Primavera Sound in Barcelona next month, and can’t wait to see Peggy Gou perform.
Do you think the amount of queer spaces for women vs men in Sydney is balanced?
I created Dykadellic because I felt there was a gap and there weren’t enough lesbian forward spaces. Since then, more have popped up, which is wonderful.
Birdcage, Limes, Lemons, Girlthing, Medusa and Sundaylicious have lots of offerings, some regular and some more sporadic. We try to work around each other and spread things out across the month.
But it’s nothing like what is offered to queer male forward spaces, where there would be several choices every weekend. I suppose it is really just a supply and demand kind of thing.
If you have a 1,000 capacity club open every Saturday targeted at women, lesbian, non-binary folk it just wouldn’t sell out and the promoter and club couldn’t afford to keep it open.
The answer, really, is for people to support the events that are out there. If you see a Dykadellic party advertised, and you want Dykadellic to keep going for the long term, then buy a ticket and come along. Vote with your feet and support the events you enjoy.
What makes Dykadellic unique compared to some of the other queer spaces for women in Sydney?
At Dykadellic, I wanted to create a lesbian-forward place with really great music. I am really particular when choosing the best DJs I can find, and amazingly skilled performers. I love the line-ups I’ve curated. We’ve had acrobats, fire performers, pole dancers and even a flashmob. And I’ve got some exciting things to come this year.
Some of the little touches I’ve provided at Dykadellic are free sanitary items and deodorant in the bathrooms, and mints at the bar. We had fun colourful sunglasses and lots of donuts at a recent party. I like to add fun surprises and make people smile.
My door daddy, Saxon, is someone who knows how to keep our space safe. They are a safe space for anyone who needs a break, and they are really good at deescalating issues to make sure everyone can enjoy the party.
I always ask for feedback from partygoers and I genuinely care about their response. Dykadellic has evolved over time, and I’m always learning new ways to make it the best lesbian party in Sydney. I think that’s what makes it unique, is my personal touch and the fact that I genuinely care.
What can we look forward to in the near future for Dykadellic?
The next party we have coming up is at Hermann’s Bar in Camperdown on Saturday 11 May.
I’m trying to find great spaces in the Inner West. People tell me they enjoy Saturday afternoon parties, so we’ll certainly see a few more of those.
Sexy Galexy is Australia’s longest performing Drag King pioneer, who has performed and hosted for me several times.
They will debut their DJ career for me at Hermann’s Bar, and I can’t wait. They play nu-disco funky house, and their high energy high camp style is going to slay!

The Men's Gold Pendant: A Guide to Style and Function
The men's gold pendant has long been a fashion staple for men of all ages. From the classic gold nugget to the modern and intricate designs, there is no denying this jewelry style has a timeless appeal. But what about the men's gold pendant makes it so popular? This blog post explores the history, style, and functionality of this iconic piece of jewelry. We'll take a look at its traditional uses, delve into its meaning and symbolism, and give tips on choosing the perfect design for your wardrobe. So if you're looking to add an eye-catching and fashionable accessory, read on to discover everything you need to know about the men's gold pendant.
What is a men's gold pendant?
A men's gold pendant is a piece of jewelry worn around the neck. It can be made of any metal but is most commonly made of gold. Gold pendants come in many different styles and designs. They can be simple or elaborate and worn for casual and formal occasions.
Different Styles of Men's Gold Pendants
Different styles of men's gold pendants include chains, chokers, and pendants with special meanings. Gold chains can be worn alone or with a pendant. Chokers are usually adjustable and fit snugly around the neck. Pendants with special meaning can be given as gifts or passed down through the generations.
How to Choose the Right Mens Gold Pendant
When it comes to choosing the right mens gold pendant, there are a few things you need to take into consideration. First, think about the style of the pendant you want. There are many different styles, so take some time to browse different options before deciding. Once you know the type of pendant you want, think about its function. Do you want a pendant purely for decoration or one that serves a specific purpose? If you plan on wearing your pendant daily, choose a durable option that can withstand regular wear and tear. Finally, remember to factor in the budget when making your final decision. With so many different styles and price points available, a men's gold pendant is sure to fit your style and budget needs.
How to Wear a Men's Gold Pendant
The men's gold pendant is a versatile piece of jewelry that can be worn for style and function. When wearing a men's gold pendant, it is essential to consider the following:
The type of pendant: Because there are so many men's gold earrings on the market, selecting one that complements your personal style is critical. Do you want a simple, understated pendant or something more flashy?
Chain length: The chain should be long enough to fit around your neck comfortably but not so long that it hangs down your chest. A good rule of thumb is to choose a chain 18 to 24 inches long.
Pendant width: select a pendant proportional to your body size. Opt for a more wide pendant if you are more extensive in build. Conversely, if you are smaller in build, choose a narrower pendant.
The metal: Most men's gold pendants are made of yellow, white, or rose gold. Consider which metal will complement your skin tone best.
Men's Gold Pendant Care and Maintenance
Assuming you're referring to a gold pendant necklace for womens gold, the best way to clean it is with warm water and mild soap. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasives, as these can damage the finish. Store your pendant on a jewelry stand or in a small box to avoid tangles.
When not wearing your pendant, keep it safe from heat and humidity, which can cause tarnishing. Please keep it in a cool, dry place, away from sunlight. If your pendant is starting to look dull, you can buff it gently with a soft cloth to restore its shine.
Conclusion
Wearing a men's gold pendant can be a great way to add style and function to any outfit. With our guide, we hope you now have the information necessary to find the perfect piece for your style. Whether an elegant design or a bold statement piece, finding the right one is all about expressing yourself individually. So, show off your unique sense of fashion with a beautiful men's gold pendant!

Hi I’m feeling some angel dust x wife reader
Where the reader is like very overprotective like vaggie?
Watches over him A LOT ask where he’s been? And just a tough bean but it private they’re all lovey and dovey while in public she’s overall aggressive? Thanks take your time and do this whenever you want.😁!
This took me a hot minute, I had to work out how I wanted this to go and I got distracted a couple of times. I diverted a tiny bit from the original idea but I do hope you like this! Under the cut because it's 3 pages long according to Docs.
(Finally an underused gif)
“Promise to be safe?” [Y/N] prompted as she passed Angel his jacket. He responded with a bright smile, his gold tooth shining in the dim light of the hotel. “Yeah babe, I didn’t buy the ring for nothing.” [Y/N] puffed as she waved him off. “Have fun, be home by 12, I’ll watch over Fat Nuggets. If you’re late again I’m kicking your ass.” She threatened half-jokingly as he exited the door, laughing at her statement as he left. He was likely going to be late again and she hated that. When she was positive he was out of ear shot she let the facade drop. Only Charlie and Vaggie were in the common room of the hotel with her, she trusted the two not to say anything. She dared to allow a sniffle before a tear finally bubbled over her eye and dripped down her face.
With a sympathetic smile Charlie placed a hand on [Y/N]’s shoulder, grabbing her attention. “It’ll be fine, you know he can handle himself.” Charlie tried to reassure her but it didn’t mean much. “He’s going to get fucked up or hurt in another stupid stunt with Cherri.” Admittedly [Y/N] was jealous of the red-headed woman Angel spent so much time with. If he was willing to be with her, what kept him from doing something with his “best gal pal”? Maybe Charlie understood her concern for his safety but she didn’t understand her concern of his ability to be faithful.
Vaggie, still on the couch, just snorted. “You worry too much about that dumbass; really, just sit down and wait on him. Us ladies can do something, just us. Sundays are for the girls.” Vaggie instated; [Y/N] knew Vaggie was trying to help in her own way, as aggressive as she was. With a sigh of defeat she agreed, sitting with the two other women as Charlie opened a bag full of makeup. Angel owned the same shade of pink Charlie had in that huge puddle of makeup. For Angel’s sake he’d best come back smelling the way he did when he left.
---
Leaning into the bar table [Y/N] drummed her fingers against the wood in aggravation. Angel still hadn’t arrived, he was two hours late. Fat Nuggets was still awake and whining like the chubby little baby pig he was, he visibly missed Angel. Lifting Nuggs into her arms she gave him a soft pet; she certainly wasn’t Angel but Nuggs wasn’t much different from a human baby, right? So maybe if she just smelled like him it would calm him down…
“For the love of God make the bacon shut up.” Husk growled, lifting himself from behind the bar table. He was freshly awake and visibly hungover. Sucked to be him. She returned his statement with an angry glare. “Don’t call my son bacon and don’t say something you’re not willing to lose your tongue over.” She hissed back at him, holding her proclaimed son to her chest. Nuggs nuzzled himself into her arms, squeaking softly. Husk twitched an eye but didn’t continue, electing to instead find something soft to put his head on. He needed a nap. An idea popped in [Y/N]’s head. If Angel was going to stress her to the brink of insanity with his lack of punctuality she’d make him jealous. Setting Fat Nuggets on a stool with one of Angel’s gloves seemed to be enough to comfort him. Turning to an agitated Husk she sat down beside him and patted her chest. Upon cocking an eyebrow in confusion she told him, “set your head here and take a nap you pissy asshole.” Her voice was friendly but she meant what she said. With a grumbled mess of words he complied, dropping his face square between her tits and was almost immediately snoring. Certainly she wasn’t the most happy about this but it would definitely get the job done. With a shrug she pulled her phone from her pocket and opened some stupid game to pass the time.
---
[Y/N] was struggling to keep awake herself, occasionally she’d catch herself dozing off with her phone in hand. Fat Nuggets had finally settled down and was gently snoring, cuddled up with the spare glove. Husk was still passed out on her chest, as though his head was moving closer to her stomach. Very feline-like of him. He reeked of cheap alcohol and she was going to be coated in that smell for at least the next day or so.
Charlie and Vaggie had retired to their room not long ago, Charlie was half asleep and Vaggie was fresh out of shit to do and chose to call it a night. [Y/N] felt lonely and a part of her considered waking Husk up to tell him she was upset over Angel but it’s not like cared much, if at all. Glancing down at the ring on her left finger [Y/N] just sighed. It was nothing fancy, just a silver band with a small sapphire jewel in the center. It was lovely. She found herself tearing up as she stared at the ring, thinking of all the things Angel may be doing behind her back at that moment.
And as she was staring off at the ring the door opened, a noise she didn’t register. A pair of boots clacked on the wooden floor, a sharp ahem breaking into her head. Glancing up [Y/N] was met with Angel; his makeup was a little smudged but overall looked (and smelled) the way he did when he left. He was grimacing, pointing to Husk, still dead asleep on her stomach. Choosing to play this part she just shrugged. “He needed to sleep off the alcohol, I offered him a warm pillow. Big deal. You do worse shit.” She ended her sentence with a harsh voice, returning his glare for a moment before glancing back down to her phone as casually as she could. She was damn tired of always worrying about him, scared for his safety, knowing he was living it up while she sat in the hotel stressed as hell.
Angel sighed, dropping his angry facade and sat next to her, pissy expression gone and replaced with one of mild concern. “I know I’m late…” He confessed, not meeting the angry glare she gave him. Setting her phone on the floor she stared at him as he tried to explain himself. “I, uh, got caught up in something.” He gulped, his lips pursing. Sighing heavily he reached into his pocket and pulled out a small toy koala, [Y/N]’s favorite living animal. “I walked halfway across Hell to find this and it rained, please don’t be too angry.” This is what he was gone for so long for? A small toy koala?
With a choked giggle [Y/N] gently took the toy koala from him, holding it in her hands. It was adorable, with huge eyes and a bobble head. “I think I’ll name him…Kevin. Kevin the Koala!” She pronounced as she patted her new toy’s bobble head. Angel chuckled in response, “Kevin is a dumb name but if you like it that much we’ll go with it.” He conceded in a teasing manner. [Y/N] snorted at his dramatic tone of voice. “Come on, let’s get your face clean and I’ll try to let you sleep in a couple extra hours.” Gently placing Husk’s sleeping head on a puddle of clothes she stood up with Angel, bumping her sapphire ring against his opal ring. Their unique little way of showing affection.
It took a good 30 minutes to clean Angel’s face of all that damn makeup, get him in some comfy clothes and get him in bed with Fat Nuggets. Glancing at the clock [Y/N] noticed it was about 5 in the morning; she’d cover Angel for a few hours but it was too late to sleep now. Waiting until Angel fell asleep she left to start a little early on her daily chores, beginning with some paperwork.
---
It was 11 in the morning when [Y/N] had to wake up Angel; he was whiny as always but complied, throwing on some presentable clothes and fixing all his fluff. [Y/N] played along with Vaggie in scolding him for staying out late and sleeping in, and when Vaggie wasn’t looking she tossed him an apologetic smile and returned to her work. He knew she had to go along with this and he understood. Hell he married the woman. He was just glad he could make her smile despite his blatant ignorance of her request to get back at a decent time. He was just glad she smiled. That ring he bought wasn’t for nothing.

some (not new) ideas I’m throwing at the wall vis-a-vis gender and star trek (esp in ds9)
Note: We’re eeeeever so slowly moving into times in which “transgender” - as useful a phrase as it is - isn’t the catch-all it’s been for the past 15 or so years, mainly with an understanding that gender is an infinite, fascinating playground that is affected by culture and time. I’m partially using transgender/trans here, and partially terms like nb, genderqueer, femme, and masc as well as “gender transgressive” which is useful to describe, well... transgressive gender.
However I wish I could jump into the future to see what terminology exists then...
I do think there’s something interesting in certain transphobic media, esp the kind that deals with crossdressing-for-laughs (vs drag, which is ofc community-based), because even though it’s usually done mockingly by cisgender heterosexual guys, it reveals how undeniably queer certain ideas are, even if that queering is done in a punch-down sort of way
surprise, this is about Profit and Lace, specifically in how it introduces the idea of transgressive gender in Quark and in Rom, accidentally building off Pel’s story in Rules of Acquisition.
surface story is yeah: Quark makes an ugly woman, with a dose of misogynistic haha women and their hormones amirite (and that opening *shudders*), but what is fascinating is how easily Quark is able to access what we’d today call gender affirming surgery in a future where you can be altered to look like all kinds of different species.
all this handwringing about regret and “staying in your gender” (which isn’t how it woooorks for a lot of us) and not allowing consent over our own bodies and the patronizing, ahistorical, unscientific, slew of unwanted commentary from everyone and their mums, it’s just... not there. they know Quark is going to reverse the surgery the second the jig is up and Julian still just does it, because sure, got a moment to spare.
you wanna have boobs? yeah, go on. you wanna have boobs and still be considered a man? uh-huh, that’s cool - wow, Rom makes a wonderful “woman,” don’t you think? (and Leeta’s.. kind of in support of that!)
I’ve argued a fair few times that Rom is trans/nb/femme/genderqueer by Ferengi standards (that is, gender is measured by business-sense/lobes and is its own kind of binary -- also on that note... their mother is trans/nb/genderqueer by that measurement too). It’s a really fascinating overlap between financial class and gender as a caste system (which affects both Ishka and Rom in different ways), which also exists on earth irl today, even though that intersectionality doesn’t get discussed enough outside of queer circles.
I think Quark fits that standard as well, but he’s fighting it a lot harder than Rom is. The central tension of Quark’s series long arc is his attempts to be A Good Ferengi Male and failing over and over and when he occasionally succeeds, how he doesn’t often feel good about that. He blames a lot of this on the Federation, but by all accounts it was in him to begin with, although he used to be able to cover it up more easily.
Quark desperately wants to get it right, but a lot of the time he’s clearly masking. Sometimes he really enjoys it though, it’s not like with Rom where he has no sense for business, so much as it takes effort.
meanwhile Pel (whom I HC as masc) doesn’t have access to the kinds of surgeries that are so easy to get in the Federation, which puts her in danger - much like not having access puts us in danger today. I'm sort of torn on the headcanon that she either gets her lobes enlarged via the same surgical procedure (which, again, is so no big deal in the future) or because she’s in the gamma quadrant, she’s able to reimagine gender without having to change herself physically - which many trans/nb/genderqueer or otherwise gendered/non-gendered people also don’t want to do.
I also think it’s interesting that Quark-as-a-woman who is dressed in clothes (gasp) is fetishized, because she’s oh so transgressive -- exactly what happens to us today and one reason why so many trans people end up in sex work (of any kind - here’s me adding: get that money however you can and want to, siblings, much love and support).
I bet there are underground sexual “deviancy” shops that sell fake lobes to imagine your female is actually the man of the house, or even lobe-enhancement that some females take to “pass” although they were actually designed for helping out your small-lobed son “perform business better”
(all of my talk of lobes: here’s the reminder that lobes in Ferengi culture are sexual characteristics)
bottom line, the tension between cisgender (heterosexual) people trying desperately to maintain a binary system of understanding gender and how they play in genderqueer sandpits is always interesting for me to watch.
on the one hand they’ll argue there are innate social behaviours that exist in women (and they exist across species) - the way Quark has to learn to walk for example, or even - interestingly - that when Ishka starts dressing, her style is very different from men’s dress (maybe inspired by an older version of Ferengi culture where females weren’t so oppressed? - Ishka as transfemme? She could notice that she and Rom have the same likes and she buys him - gasp buys with her own money!! - a lovely dress and one of those massive lobe-earring/necklace things (lobe-lace?), so they match) - and innate social behaviours that exist in men
on the other hand they will unknowingly present a future in which the distinctions between woman and man are so immaterial that you can access any kind of physical surgery you want - in the Federation that is, and differently defined throughout different species on different planets. I always liked the idea that the further away from the “paradise” of earth you get, the more diverse the gender distinctions become but in a lot of these places they also practise rigid systems, like on Ferenginar. I can imagine some majority-human planet worshipping the old ways of the 20th century and enforcing that colonialist gender binary, urgh, can you imagine....
You wonder what things like “assigned gender and sex at birth” might mean in a future where there’s no social capital involved in assigning those kinds of things, if anything.
And so, Profit and Lace is -- still not a good episode. I remember one of the DS9 writers talking about how unexpectedly well it’s aged and it absolutely has not. It’s misogynistic and transphobic, but I think also very important in the canon of Star Trek’s accidental gender-exploration (Star Trek’s accidental gender-exploration sounds like the title of an article....)
sometimes you find the best gold nuggets in the trash.
and on that note: time to spin the wheel and headcanon that O’Brien was (using today’s terminology) assigned female at birth and decided he liked the sound of being a boy when he was thirteen (his parents like: “for your birthday we got you gender reassignment! and you can always change your mind.”)
also I wrote it above, but Rom and Ishka wearing matching outfits and it being equally shocking is *chefs kiss* (esp with Rom as Nagus)

Kiss In The Kitchen
hiii okay so I have a couple one shots hidden away in drafts that I’m not 100% in love with but i enjoyed writing at the time so I thought I might as well share them :) Here’s the first...
You couldn’t be prouder of Fine Line and all you want to do is support and congratulate him, even if it means ignoring the insecurities one song strikes in you.
4k Words
At first, you listened to it (almost) alone, Harry's large headphones covering your ears as his new album played for you - you'd heard bits and pieces of it over the last year but never every song in it's finalised form. The second time you listened to the album you quickly adored was at its release party; a contrast setting to the quiet of the Saturday sun sneaking into your bedroom with Harry's earnest gaze set on you as you spoil yourself in his words - you could almost forget the album was written entirely about the woman Harry devoted all his love to before you'd met, it felt so private between the two of you. You'd visited the studio several times, lending your own advice when Harry met droughts of no inspiration and begged for your musical experience; You'd been in several small bands in your formative years, playing bass or drums, but had paused that particular pastime to focus on the reality of your career - writing took time in this industry, supporting yourself whilst avoiding the well of tabloid work was tricky, so far you'd managed to find little nuggets of gold in genuine, thought-provoking magazines and had begun to make a name for yourself, something you'd doubted possible in the harder of times.
You'd chosen to keep your lyrical advice to yourself when Harry called to you for help, however. You knew who this album was about, it was clear it wasn't you and that was fine. You didn't expect Harry to dedicate a whole album about you after 11 months together, all of which dating after he began writing it.
In private, sat on your bed and grinning up at him as his music played to you and you only - you were proud. You'd accepted the difficulties that might come with listening to your partner's rawest emotions for a past lover and had come to the conclusion that you'd appreciate his work simply because of how much he'd put into it and how well it'd all come together.
That was easy in private. It's slightly harder to remind yourself to separate the songs playing loudly all around you in the busy L.A club from all the not so hidden meanings behind them. Everyone Harry had met within the last few years of his solo career and long before that had come to celebrate with him. Busting bodies filled the large room, many already taking advantage of the bar. Almost everyone found themselves, slightly slurring, by Harry's side at one point of the night to tell him how beautiful Fine Line was, and the topics of each song didn't seem to go unnoticed either.
As you made your own rounds, you overheard the loud discussions about the mix of provocative, solemn and affectionate themes. Some of the group were apparently too drunk to see Harry's current girlfriend standing by as they cheered on his yearning and passion for his previous one.
It only got worse with press. You were still unbelievably proud of course, but Harry had to do a lot of press. Each interviewer cut straight to the elephant in the album. Camille was discussed, if not named by Harry, at length. You adored hearing Harry speak about his own personal growth and becoming comfortable in himself - but for every question about identity and fashion, came three about the clear sexual undertones and soulmate ideologies.
You were rational in your discomfort. You listened to Adore You and your other stand out favourites when you wrote, you understood and trusted that Harry had moved on, you'd been together for almost a year and he's told you weeks before then when you were just new friends that he knew he was ready again after months of working on himself.
You just couldn't deal with one song.
Breaking up and having sex you could deal with, you could enjoy the final work. They were normal things that people went through and wrote about. But the first sign of love? The sweet, endearing start of a relationship that he was so clearly ardent about - as if his feeling were a lot fresher than you'd imagine for a relationship that started and ended months ago.
Sunflower Vol.6 was beautiful, but as hard as you tried, you couldn't just see it objectively. You felt it so concentrated, and it hurt like fucking hell.
- - -
"Do we have any mango?" Harry calls from the kitchen, the click of the fridge opening quietly behind him. "Never mind found it!"
You smile at his domestic charm as you work on you most recent piece; it's been taking up a lot of time, creeping into your weekend which hadn't gone unnoticed by Harry as he had returned from the morning run you usually went on as a couple. A few moments later, after the loud whirring of the blender stopped, a pinky-orange smoothie is placed beside you and kiss pressed to the side of your head.
"When're you gon'a be done?" He murmurs against your ear, curls flopping down onto your own.
He's just finished his last week of press, ending with Howard Stern who seemed eager to remind Harry, constantly, of all the women he could have. You weren't particularly public yet so you couldn't really blame him for assuming Harry would be starting a new relationship soon. It just added to the frustration you'd been careful not to disclose over the long period of promo for the album.
"I wanna finish this today so we're both free after we fly back, I'jus need a little time alone, yeah?" A low grumble and a "yeah" was the only response he gave and he removes himself to the other side of the big living room to lay down on the sofa and slurp his breakfast.
Your deadline is Monday but tomorrow morning you're flying back to London and driving up to Holmes Chapel to spend time with Harry's family before he was away on tour for months so you were eager to be free from work.
Hours tick by, you're stuck in the spiral of the final edit. There were a few words that you couldn't quite tweak how you wanted them, as always. You got up to make lunch.
As you pass through the living room you expect to see Harry's body sprawled across the sofa napping, but only a bundle of throw blankets lay where he had been. His journal sits abandoned on the side table, propped open by a loose pen. You can see the scribbling of new song ideas and the beginnings of a poem, smiling to yourself you walk through to the kitchen - still no Harry.
Humming to yourself you open the fridge door, moving your hips slightly as you retrieve all the ingredients of a sandwich for you and Harry. Domestic moments like these were hard to come by in the midst of album releases and pre-tour prep, but you're looking forwards to the month ahead of you. No doubt you'll need some alone time after a week at his mother's house so you're being careful not to take any assignments for the rest of the month to make room for as many simple moments like this as possible once you're back in your London home.
Over the rustle of the bread packet and the crunch the lettuce made as you slice it, you can hear Harry's voice approaching from down the hall.
"Well thanks, mate-yeah..yeah we've gotta get drinks sometime it's been too long." He has the smile on his face that tells you it was another old friend calling to congratulate him on his album, probably a fellow musician from the early days.
Harry makes his way to your side, watching as you layer food into your sandwiches and steals a shred of lettuce. You can hear the other voice now - a clear English drawl you recognise as Ed. You've met a couple times and he's one of the most genuine men you've met, you much prefer him over some of the industry people Harry has to mingle with.
"Oh, dude and the mushrooms!" You giggle as you hear Ed laugh down the line at Harry. "I can't say I didn't guess something was up."
"Thanks, man - like what?" Harry chuckles back, sneaking more sandwich scraps as you slice a knife through them and dish them up.
"Um, the whole end of sunflower - are you really gonna do that live?" At the mention of the song, you feel your shoulders tense slightly. You're really trying to be a good girlfriend and support Harry - but that song just hits different, you trust Harry's love but you can't help but wonder if he has any feelings left over for Camille...
"If I have to!" Harry continues to joke, not noticing your discomfort or at least not mentioning it."Look, Ed, I gotta go but it was great talking to you"...
Harry's voice drones into the background as you take your plate and make your way back to your laptop, huffing as you're reminded of your own frustrations with yourself; he told you months ago that he's moved on, why can't you just believe him?
You can hear a quiet goodbye from Harry as he sets his phone down on the sofa and sits across from you at the table. Your laptop is still acting as a barrier between the two of you. You type at the keys, trying to look busy as you write and rewrite the same line over and over, sighing - you save and close the file and set your laptop aside.
"Not going how you want?" Harry asks.
"No, it is just...there's a bit I can't get to work. I just want to get this over with already." Harry thinks about what you've said for a moment before getting up and leaving the room - he comes back a moment later, setting a glass of water bedside your lunch and kissing your temple.
"Take a break love, you've been working all week you deserve it." He hums against your hair. "And thank you for lunch."
He's so sweet and chipper, smiling at you as he takes his plate out to the kitchen and returns to perch across the table from you, hand wavering over his journal as you finish your lunch.
He worries about you a lot. Normally over you working too much and not taking time for yourself or the amount of pressure, you put on yourself being overwhelming. It was in his nature to worry you remind yourself, you're trying hard to push past the hurt you can't quite let go of and the last thing you'd ever want was for him to feel bad about what he'd written so you'd managed to keep it under wraps. There was no need for him to be suspicious.
- - -
Your alarm goes off at 5am. Your flight is in 3 hours.
"Turn it off." You grumble, burying your head deeper into your pillow. The mattress dips underneath you when Harry turns, the duvet shifts as he slips his hand under and wraps his arms around you. "S'too early."
"I know." You love how Harry's voice sounds in the morning - rough with a soft edge. It's one of the first things you fell in love with; the extra degree or two the morning adds to his embrace, he's always quick to loop his arms around your middle if they've come undone in the night. His untamed and often tangled curls bristle against the back of your neck and there'll be a few moments of warm even breaths against your ear before he bounces up. He's very much a morning person.
"I'm getting in the shower y/n, I'll be out in a sec - get up yeah?" You mumble a slightly coherent response as he leaves the room, a towel draped over his bare shoulder.
Following a few moments of deliberation, you sit up. Unplugging your phone from where it lay on your bedside table, you check your notifications. Sure you'll be up in time, you open twitter.
Unsurprisingly, nothing much is happening. You scroll through a few messages from the day before until you come across a video of Harry being interviewed, he's wearing the thick red cardigan he recently bought so it must've been from this week.
You click play to see him smiling tiredly at the interviewer - you remember this day, you'd stayed up later than planned watching old toy story reruns then he'd been running around frantically getting ready the next morning. You lazily watch him answer a few frequently repeated questions until he's asked about the stages of romantic relationships that inspired certain songs. You expect the usual questions about songs like Adore You and Watermelon Sugar but instead, the interviewer takes a turn and seemingly voices all the concerns floating around your head;
"And one of my personal favourites: Sunflower vol.6, really captures the first realisation of love in a relationship, what lead you to write that song in particular, did you write from experience?"
"Thank you, yeah..I think that first really overpowering part of a relationship when two people are just starting to have these intimate, lovestruck moments together stuck with me and I-" You turn your phone off sharply. Your mind is spiralling with insecurities enough on its own without Harry himself describing how he first felt about his ex-girlfriend.
You sit against the headboard, mulling over the topic that has clouded your mind the past few days. You don't hear the shower turn off down the hall as you let out an angry grumble - it feels so shit and mean of you to be this way and you just want the clarity you had before this all happened.
"What's wrong love?" You look up to see Harry standing at the end of the bed. His hair is dripping onto his shoulders and he's wrapped a light pink towel around his waist loosely, concern contoured his face as he peers down at your huddled form.
"Jus' tired." You crawl forwards to climb out of bed, kissing Harry's cheek lightly as he stood unconvinced before heading to your wardrobe. "Honestly, I'm good."
"Okay..what's the time?"
"Uhhum-" You mutter as you riffle through a pile of sweaters. "5.30ish I think..check my phone"
You slip on a comfy pair of jeans and socks before you walk into the hall on your way to make you both coffee, there's a long pause from the bedroom before Harry calls down to you - 5.42am.
- - -
By the time the plane takes off, you're almost asleep again.
- - -
It's 7pm LA time when you step out the taxi delivering you home to your London house. It's almost 2 am here so despite your lack of tiredness you shuffle through the door behind Harry.
All your heavy luggage is left in the entryway as you climb the stairs up to your bedroom, eager to be done with jet lag and normal again by the morning.
You've made the mistake of sleeping the first 3 hours of the flight and now find yourself wide awake under the soft covers of you and Harry's bed. He always falls asleep as soon as he hits the pillow, and with how quiet he's been all day you assume he's already tired. Between your early napping and him being engrossed in the book he was currently reading - there hadn't been much conversation between you on the flight over. As you snuggle further into the covers you realise things have been a little different these past few days, maybe being so caught up in your own head with work and worries of your own you haven't noticed but there's definitely been a...distance. You're just not sure which of it is creating it.
The next morning you wake to the radio playing from a few rooms away. Sitting up you look around the room; your suitcases are still downstairs by the look of it and Harry's side of the bed has been slept in and now deserted.
"Harry?" You call out. There's some kind of foggy sadness seeping around you as you hear no reply. Maybe you're just tired but you feel you might start sobbing any minute - it's a desperate feeling that you're not quite sure how to quench.
"Harry.." You call again as you climb out the bed, slipping a large jumper on over your head, pulling the braids you'd plaited for the flight that had come undone and frizzy with sleep, over your shoulders. "Love?"
There's still no response and you're now on the final step of the long staircase. You walk quickly through the house towards a quiet humming you can just about make out. You must have gathered speed in your anxious mission to find Harry because as you enter the kitchen you slam hard into the doorway as you reach out to balance yourself.
The movement in his peripheral makes Harry turn his head, slipping the bulky headphones off his ears and slipping his phone into his pocket. He'd previously been slumped against the kitchen counter, lost in thought as he skimmed through his phone, forgetting the kettle as it boiled beside him.
"Love- oh, careful." He chuckles slightly before he takes in your expression. You must have started crying by now because he rushes quickly towards you. "Woah- woah what's wrong? Did you hurt yourself?"
The arm that had taken the full brunt of the doorway was now being carefully examined by Harry as his eyes scan you, searching for any harm. His hand comes to wipe at the few glossy tears on your cheek before he gently asks his question again.
"No I-I was calling for you..." You reply, equally confused as him by the whole situation.
"I didn't hear you love I'm sorry, what happened?" He's placed your arm back by your side now although his hands lingers around yours.
"...Nothing."
"Y/n, please just tell me. What's wrong?" He persists.
"No, I mean - nothing happened I just..." You mumble, how were you supposed to explain that when you woke up you felt terrifyingly alone and just needed to find him...to remind yourself that everything you'd let conspire in your head wasn't really happening.
"Y/n, I know something's up..the last week has been really busy I know but if something's wrong please just tell me, okay?" You think about it for a second before blurting out-
"Would you tell me if you still loved her?"
This doesn't seem to be at he was expecting, or you for that matter. The situation was uncomfortable - hearing your boyfriend sing about how intensely he loved Camille and how badly losing her broke him, but it was just music. You don't realise until you ask him the awkward question, just how much it had been bothering, or scaring you.
"What?"
"I just mean...Okay shit I don't mean that at all I'm just tired and I woke up and you weren't there and I just needed to find you I-"
"Is this what's been upsetting you?" His words aren't spoken forcefully, more...sadly. "T-this is what the phone call and the yesterday morning and...oh God the whole fucking flight! That's what you were thinking?"
"What phone call, what do you mean?" You don't know if he's angry at you or not, his hands are in his hair and he's got the mad look in his eyes that tells you he's either about to shout or cry.
"With Ed. As soon as he mentioned the album you left the room and, and! Yesterday, you were angry about something and then I checked the time and your phone opened on some video about the album and come on...you can't say everything was okay on the flight...we barely talked...we've barely talked at all this week." You're decided that the crying is a lot worse than the shouting. There's something cathartic that comes from shouting back at someone who's just as angry as you - but crying back at someone who's just as confused and upset? It makes you feel all twisted and uncomfortable.
"No..no Harry that's not it-"
"Y/n don't lie I-"
"It's not. I love your album and I'm so, so proud of you, and of everything you did to make it and I understand the importance of your relationship with Camille," Harry's huffing now, his fingers are tangled further in his hair and he's leaned up against the door frame close opposite you. "-This album is all about that time in your life and that's fine...Harry I love it, honestly, the album isn't anything to do with anything-"
"You just asked me if I still loved her!" He exclaims, staring wide-eyed back at you. "I don't give a shit about the album right now, you can hate it, okay? That's okay? But you asked me if I still love her...Y/n look at me."
Your eyes, tightly fixed on the kitchen tiles, tilt up to see his face. His eyes are red and splotchy and his hands reach out to hold you as he speaks again.
"I don't love her, I haven't in a long, long time. I had the ideas for all the songs about her before I even met you, you okay..you're the person I love and...I thought you knew that?" He sighs, hesitant before he starts again. "I thought you trusted me."
There's another pause between you as you mull your next thoughts over.
"I do."
He shakes his head, teary and angry.
"No you don't, if you did you wouldn't have asked-"
"It's just that fucking song!" You snap, you take a sharp breath in and swallow the lump in your throat - "I know that you don't love her, I know it but, when I listen to you sing - and talk, telling people about this wonderful honeymoon romance that even after years you remember so vividly and, and that means so much to you,I..."
"Track 9?" Harry questions, seemingly understanding everything you've just rambled. "Sun- oh baby no it's not..."
"I'm sorry I...It's a great song I just, whenever I hear it I'm reminded of how much you must have felt for her and, and remembered all this time to write about...what?" Harry's smiling now, he seems to be relived for some reason. His eyes are brighter, clearing slightly and he chuckles slightly.
"It's all my fault, I'm so sorry lovie I should have told you.." He scrambles. "I, I was embarrassed when I wrote it because we'd only just started dating and then you heard it a couple weeks later and it was too soon to tell you and then I just...didn't. I thought maybe you'd figured it out."
"What do you mean?"
"It's about...us."
"You told me you didn't write any about me though..."
"No, I said I hadn't written any you were going to see anytime soon...and that was, awhile ago." He smiles slightly, squeezing your hand in his. "There's another one about you actually too,"
"Harry you, you wrote it about us.." Harry hums a confirmation, bowing his head to press a kiss to your cheek. "I thought...what else did you write!"
Harry laughs now, catching your lips with his as you both feel each other relax - the tension and discomfort seeping away as you realise the reality of everything you'd worried yourself over in the last week.
You pull away, one hand on his chest and the other fiddling with the curls at the back of his head.
"Seriously what else did you write-"
"I'm not telling." He beams, leaning down against the firm push you send to his chest.
"I swear if you wrote a song about our sex life I-"
"Shhhh!" He presses a mocking finger to your lips to quiet you. "We better be going, don't wanna be late."
With that, he leaves the kitchen, you can hear his heavy steps rushing up the stairs and soon the house is quiet and the air around you is settled again.
There's a subtle hum of the shower upstairs that intrudes but nonetheless, the clarity's back.

Spinning the decks with DJ Torz

Gonna ramble a bit about foxes. Well, a fox that I’m using as an example to explain how I really feel about them. Because she’s a perfect example.
Tama Kick is utter garbage and all I need to explain why is
Every time I mention it when people ask where my icon’s from, I tell them not to read it. It’s awful. So bad even I hated it. That bad.
So why, then, do I have a character from it as an icon? A character that shows up for two chapters in the third act and is immediately forgotten, no less. Why do I like her?
Yeah, yeah, yeah smartass. “Wyrm love pretty fox.” Yes. That is part of it. But I don’t just like the fluff and ears and sexy.
See, I was just so bored when I read it I kept going for the hell of it
And I got this character as a reward for slogging through the bullshit. I say “this character” because she doesn’t even have a name.
Her character is a tragedy.
She’s a kitsune turned goddess. A long time ago, she was horrible, as kitsune can be - famines, floods, earthquakes. Tragedies and disaster.. Then she was sealed.
In silence. Alone. For hundreds of years.
So when her seal weakens, and she can interact with the world again, what does she want to do?
Play!
She’s been alone for centuries, she’s bored. So when women come to her waterfall she grabs them, pulls their minds into her prison and she... plays games of dice with them. At first.
They will not win the game. Not because she cheats, but because the game has no end. She will play round after round after round, trapping them in an endless cycle until they’re completely under her spell.
And well. kitsune are lustful. So it ends up with
Thing is, she’s not doing this out of malice. She’s just a lesbian kitsune that likes games. It’s in her nature to treat humans as toys. To deceive, to beguile, to use.And hell, she’s making them feel pretty good while she’s at it. It’s not like she kills them. She’s just having fun.
But she’s still a villain because this is wrong and harmful - it’s rape - and she loses to the heroes.
When she thinks she’s going to be sealed again, she has breakdown and just soullessly stares at the floor in fear.
Turns out, when you’re alone for so long, you look inward, because there’s nowhere else to look.
And you might really not like what you see.
Deserved guilt obliterates the soul. But there’s no way for her to change. She is what she is. In the earthly realm, a fox can be corrupted, and she’s been corrupted. It’s beyond an addiction, it’s like a compulsion. She will never be able to stop what she does on Earth. She will always be a monster and the bill will come due even if she tries to avoid it. So she may as well do anything she can to distract herself from her pain.
It’s a tragedy, and that makes her two chapters a nugget of gold in a shitpile. She is the only arc villain that has more than simple lust as a motivator. She’s desperate. She’s corrupted, she’s harmful to humans, but she is not evil.
Because of that, the priestess that’s gonna seal her instead decides to purify her and send her on to the other side.
To the heavens, clean, where she might even become a divine messenger.
The duality present. Monsters that can see what they’re doing is wrong but can’t stop, or monsters that choose to revel in it. A help for humans, or their biggest enemy - and not always willingly.
That is what I love about asian fox spirits. That is why she’s my icon.
