Bug Fishing

Back with another Danganronpa Drawing!

I completed this a few months ago but never felt proud of it so I left it alone. I came back yesterday to fix it up to see if I can get another shot at it and I think it helped! Maybe I shouldn't have waited a month but eh whatever.

Heartache and All

(A/N: Just a little drabble. I miss writing for them so much. I sincerely think that they’re the OTP for me that, no matter how much time passes, writing them will always bring me happiness.)

Hayato isn’t too sure when he started liking Haru like...that. But he definitely remembers the first time he saw her differently. He had been at his lowest at that time, filled with self hatred and guilt. And no matter what anyone said or did, they couldn’t get him out of that funk.

Haru was different.

She didn’t say anything to him. Her only actions were staying by his bedside as he was recovering from another episode. There were no words of encouragement or eyes of judgment. All she did was take care of him and hold his hand.

One day, he has asked why she even bothered. “We’re not close.” He told her, and it was true. But she looked at him, tilting her head, holding his hand harder.

“You’re right. Hahi, but that doesn’t mean you should suffer alone. Everyone deserves someone to stay by their side, heartache and all. Now, open up Gokudera-san.” She says, bringing food closer to him (how did he miss a whole plate of food?).

“I can feed myself!” He blurted out, embarrassed by the action.

“Hee hee, yeah but nooo~! Say ‘ahhh’!”

“No! Stupid woman!”

She had shoved the spoon into his mouth anyways. Watching him chew slowly, he caught a hint of a smile on her. It was on the verge of turning evening and the hues of red, pink and orange from the setting sun made Haru look...just a little bit different.

And after that day, he had continued to pay more attention to her. He noticed little things about her, like how she let her hair down when she was stressed, or how she would stick her tongue out when deep in thought. How she would furrow her eye brows with fire in her eyes when she was determined and how she held hands with those she cared about. It made him think of himself, to be honest.

That they weren’t close but she still cared. And that thought was...

Comforting.

With cheeks turning pink at the thought, he huffed while sitting alone in his room. “There must have been something in that food.” He murmurs under his breath as he continues making samples of his work to present to the Tenth. The thought of Haru lingered in his mind, something that annoyed him but over time, grew to accept.

Maybe one day, he’ll be able to hold her hand. And be that person who can stay by her side.

This is random but I want to talk about and I think you’d have good thoughts. Anyway i think Gonta would be a punk with enough time to develop his counterculture ways. He’s already a leftist (He’s a gentlemen) but I feel like he needs some time to heal from trauma and then the next step is attending animal rights protests. Do u agree

I feel like I need a degree in Gonta Gokuharu to answer this correctly without risking the wrath of every gonta stan.

I wouldn't call Gonta punk though, Gonta is not punk, Gonta is very concerned about his family and his image because he wants to impress his family. He is a gentlemen because its what is expected of him to be for someone of his status, along with just thinking it's a nice thing to be. Gonta wants to be what society thinks he should be due to his family. Which is like, the opposite of punk. Even if he got away from that mindset, I also don't know if he'd even...like punk music? That doesn't feel like Gonta's vibe, and punk is a a musical subculture, if you don't like punk music, you aren't really punk.

I also don't see him at an animal rights protests, animal welfare especially bugs? Sure, but animal rights? That's a completely different thing that has a lot of roots and common ideas I don't think Gonta would really, agree with? People forget Gonta's lab was full of dead bugs too after all, which he directly calls pretty and said the person who prepared the bug samples must have loved them.

He's an entomologist, he pins and dissects insects. He believes insects should be respected, and he really really likes them, but Gonta will and has killed bugs. He literally helped find a parasite that was making people sick, a discovery which would inherently lead to these parasites being dealt with, aka, removed from their hosts to die. If Gonta prioritized insect life as one to one with a human life, he wouldn't have done that.

Gonta implicitly was raised around and understands things like predation and omnivores and the fact you can't treat an insect the same way you treat a person. I think he'd find animal right talking points confusing. although I am also now picturing Kokichi trying to explain that he's vegetarian to a very confused "but humans are omnivores? Kokichi sick?" Gonta who hadn't encountered the concept before because when would he have and it's very funny

DR:V3 Talentswap! AU Idea

(So this is just me putting down the talents that I have picked out for them right now (all canon talents, games, manga, or anime included), my expand upon this AU as time goes on. Most of the talents I picked out are either because I find the idea funny or because it makes since to me.)

Shuichi Saihara: Ultimate Fanfic Writer (Considering what little we know about his pregame-self, I find the idea of this hilarious.)

Kaede Akamatsu: Ultimate Photographer (Wanted her to still have an Ultimate that was artistic in nature, but still a specific interest like how she’s the Ultimate Pianist and not the Ultimate Musician like in canon.)

Kaito Momota: Ultimate Gambler (Specifically this, but his luck fluctuates like Nagito’s and the only reason he has the title is because of his crippling gambling addiction.)

Rantaro Amami: Ultimate Yakuza (From what we can gather, Rantaro is a nepo-baby. But I can’t imagine him being set against his family like Byakuya was, and I guess the mafia is about family? So Yakuza.)

Kokichi Ouma: Ultimate Magician (Though he’s secretly a phantom thief as well. Pushing the Kokichi Ouma Kaitou Kid agenda.)

Maki Harukawa: Ultimate Detective (Wanted her to still have an ultimate dealing with corpses, but didn’t want her to still be a “fighter” type.)

Gonta Gokuharu: Ultimate Animal Breeder (Instead of having an extreme love for bugs, he has an extreme love for animals. Though he still loves bugs.)

Korekiyo Shinguuji: Ultimate Adventurer (He travels the world, to experience different cultures everywhere.)

Himiko Yumeno: Ultimate Traditional Dancer (Wanted her to have a talent where she could still perform on stage. She still thinks she’s at least psychic though.)

Kiibo: Ultimate Pop Sensation (He’s still a robot, but you can’t tell off of first glance. Not to mention, I thought it would be funny if he was a singer considering in canon his singing traumatized Shuichi.)

Tenko Chasbashira: Ultimate Street Performer (Wanted her to still have an active talent, but didn’t want it to be a “fighting” one. Not to mention, dancing can translate really well to fighting.)

Miu Iruma: Ultimate Cook (Wanted something that was still remotely science related, but wasn’t at all related to her being an inventor. Settled on Cook since cooking and baking actually has quite a bit of science involved.)

Kirumi Toujou: Ultimate Nurse (Wanted her to still have an Ultimate where she was actively helping people.)

Ryoma Hoshi: Ultimate Lucky Student (Thought the idea of the suicidal guy having amazing luck was ironic, too ironic to not do.)

Angie Yonaga: Ultimate Pianist (I also wanted her to have an Ultimate that was still artistically inclined.)

Tsumugi Shirogane: Ultimate Gamer (I can just see her saying that she’s just a plain old gamer and that there’s nothing special about her. And this way, she can still make dorky references.)

Gokudera: You better be careful, otherwise I’ll have to rearrange your guts later.

Haru: H-Hahi!?

Another punk with knives? The Varia Storm? Prince Belphegor? Why is he being brought up in this situation? Is he in Japan again? “You aren’t saying that Prince Belphegor did that to you?” She looks him over again and a shiver runs down her spine, “could’ve been me.” She mumbles under her breath remembering that one time she got threatened to show him something interesting. What is a Haru to do when held at intricate knifepoint? She remembers showing him to Take-sushi at the end of the day because who doesn’t like sushi?

“You say it’s not bleeding too bad though you’re practically covered in it,” the skeptical look she gives him. With a hand on her hip, “Do you think acting like this makes me worry any less? It has the opposite effect.” Maybe she has to explain things to him from the perspective of a person who is usually left in the dark? “Think of it like this, if I was being harassed by a stalker and I kept quiet about it because I didn’t want to bother or worry anyone. Then that stalker comes and hurts me one day. Wouldn’t you feel upset that I didn’t say anything? You’d rather know than to be left in the dark.” Yes, Haru had the tendency of keeping things to herself, but stalking was too serious an issue to overlook.

Well, so is being injured to the point that your bandages are soaked with blood! “Nana-san may be fine with living in ignorance, but I’M not. It may be scary, but it’s scarier not knowing anything. I can promise you this. If I come back and you’re still not here, or you don’t let me help you—you’ll regret that choice.” You should know her well by now. Haru doesn’t make idle threats.

"I'm not trusting a person who can't trust me."

She was right, he didn't want to tell her. However fair was fair. She asked, he'd answer. "It was just another punk with knives, that's all you need to know."

He appreciated her help, but the last thing he wanted was her to worry about him. He got into fights like this all the time. Injuries like this were normal to him, the bleeding wasn't too bad to warrant stitching, it just hurt like hell. However, he did appreciate her help.

"No, it's not bleeding too bad. I should be fine. The Varia Storm left me in worse condition than this before. I can handle this."

Gokudera Hayato as: a cursed royal who got roped into faking the tailor's death in exchange for her accompanying him on a journey to get rid of his curse (it's a miracle how she was able to convince him).
