Yup, first time.

(shrugs shoulders) Dunno why, but I do remember right before SWSH started, Yamamoto teased the idea of the boy being Shield and the girl being Sword before correcting himself. I guess Kusaka finally decided to do it now.

What did you think of the episode 21 of Fruits Basket? In relation to Yuki's past and about Yuki's true feelings towards Tohru?

It was lovely! Well, lovely made, and ripped my heart out not in a “aww” sense, but you get the idea. 

It was nice to have a final confirmation for the nature of Yuki’s feelings, the story had been building up to it for quite a while (my anime-only ass is super happy bc when I started the series on a whim I was completely sure Yuki/Tohru was bound to be endgame while I liked Kyo more so there’s that too XD).  

It wasn’t the most “heart-destroyer” episode (that honor goes to Kyo’s “I love you” one), but ranks pretty high and cemented that almost all the Sohma adults and the “Ren” person (Akito’s mother, I suppose) should meet me in the pit asap.

What is your opinion about Granblue Versus and Relink? What did you think of the characters chosen for Versus? What characters would you like to have in Versus?

I’m excited for both and will probably be (pre) ordering versus, it looks like it’ll be a very friendly entry point into fighting games in general which is exactly what I’ve been looking for for a while. most of the versus roster is pretty expected (main story characters, dragon knights) but bubs was a real dark horse. I can’t really comment on the technical aspects since I know jack shit of fuck about fightans but my friends who do know shit are pleased with the variety in styles. rpg mode looks really fun too and i’m looking forward to the Lore(TM). dlc wise I’m expecting at least one eternal as well as sturm and drang (as dual character maybe?) and sandalphon, but I’m hoping for an irestill. it’d also be funny if they added like a harp character or something

relink looks really beautiful but we don’t know all that much about it yet since the release date is still pretty far off so I’m waiting until there’s more info before I really make any judgements. it also looks like the kind of game that requires like 40+ hours to finish and I’ve got a lot of those on my plate already so I’m not in as much of a hurry to get my hands on that one

Do you think Red and Green will appear in Sun/Moon? How would you like their roles to be?

There is a possibility, but part of me would rather not have them appear. Mostly because their roles in the games is only limited to the Battle Tree, so they wouldn’t really have any impact on the plot itself. Or at least that’s from a game perspective, since I know Green appeared in XY to show off the other Mega Charizard + train the Kalos group a bit, while Blue and Red appeared in ORAS just to show off Mega Venusaur and Mega Blastoise.I don’t really see them having a big role in Sun/Moon/USUM other than “I’m also here and not edited in later.”Also truth be told, I’d like to see Yellow more than the other three. We haven’t seen or heard from her in a very long time.

What do you think of the new Doctor Who audio announcements: 7 with Roz and Chris, and comic adaptations of 4 Doctor that will include Sharon Davies.

More hyped for the former than latter, mostly out of my greater familiarity with the former source material. But it’s a cool field to see them branch into.

You are prepared for when in PQ2 they make Goro confess and give up on his betrayal and then he loses memory at the end of the game that neither in PQ 1 Kanji convinced Ken that killing Shinji is wrong and they have lost memory of the events at the end?

Yep, I am...

.... I fully expect that from Atlus, so anything else would surprise me :)

Star Trek Fandom - AO3 Stats

Following the example of @gokaihearts35​, I thought I would add to their stats on the Star Trek fandom. I’ve been playing with the data on and off for the past two years. I just like the nice colours... Data updated to 27 Dec 2020. Lower Decks, the older ST movies and crossovers with non-Star Trek fandoms excluded.

In terms of total numbers of fics on AO3, all years together, AOS still represents 40% of all ST fics, with TOS a distant second, and Voyager not too far behind in 3rd position. It will take time to topple AOS from its dominance, and it is unlikely that any particular series will dominate the whole ST fandom in the nearer future like AOS has done for more than ten years now.

In 2020, all ST fandoms, except for Disco, showed a sharp increase in the number of fics. AOS still dominated the ST landscape, with a strong finish by ST Voyager, ST DS9 and, unsurprisingly, ST Picard.

In terms of proportion though, the data show a more nuanced picture. As expected, the AOS movies have been in straight decline since the last movie Star Trek Beyond came out in 2016. Meanwhile the older TV series have jostled for second position in 2020, with ST Voyager a whisker ahead of ST DS9. TOS came in fourth, losing its place behind AOS for the first time since 2009. ST Discovery declined quite markedly (maybe fic writers are waiting for the third season to end), and Picard is on a straight line up. Poor ST Enterprise finished last, as usual.

I'm delighted when other people analyze fanworks -- glad that @gokaihearts35 also has a passion for fandom stats! And trying to do stats on all the big relationships are in a given fandom is particularly difficult and time-consuming... It's nice to see the work that went into those analyses.

What is your opinion on Magic Knight Rayearth? You like? What would your favorite couple and characters be? You prefer the anime or the manga (I prefer the anime, even if the end of the manga is better). Is there something wrong if I prefer the second part of the story?

I used to watch it when I was little, but I don’t remember anything. But I’m sure it’s a great manga/anime, Mokona is there! haha. I’ve seen some cute fanarts of some ships from that series too 😄

The author apologizing has nothing to do with having this scene in this episode. He wrote this story more than 10 years ago as a web novel. “The author himself looks back on those scenes, regrets them and vows to do better/not overuse rape in such manner in his future works. While given the chance to present said old, disowned scenes again in published form or adaptation w a different framing, nothing changes. But the two things are completely unrelated”. Sure thing.

Like, there’s not a lot of possibilities here. Either he regrets them... but not to the point of doing anything concrete to alter them when given the chance or the anime committee and staff knew his wishes for changes and elected to ignore them to throw in the nth crass, shitty rapey scene (now with more randomness and stupid dialogue). None of these options looks good.

Here the salaries of the other actors of the Doctor: Eccleston made like 1.5 million, Tennant made 1 million, Smith made $600,000, and Capaldi made $200,000. Although these are not the full amounts as they also receive an additional salary paid by BBC Worldwide.
