Chapter 16 of A Different Kind of Strength is up!

Sleepy Girl & Artist Boy

5 hours late Moon was asleep in her bed with a book covering her face

Gohan returned to the dorm, he walked in quietly to see Moon sleeping. He looked at her, her hair was sprawled out all over the pillow, and she looked comfortable and peaceful in her sleep. He couldn't help but feel happiness and smile, her peaceful look and the knowledge that she was not afraid of him anymore made him happy.

He quietly put his backpack down by the door, and then took out a notepad and a pencil from his bag. He walked over to Moon, and ever so slowly and carefully, he began to draw a picture of her while she slept

Moon was snoring a soft tune

Gohan was focused on drawing, he was enjoying this time he had to himself to draw Moon in her sleep. He took great care to make sure the drawing was as perfect as he could make it. Once he was satisfied with his work, he took a step back, admiring the drawing of Moon in her sleep. He smiled at her, and wrote "Sleep well, Moon", on the empty page of his notepad. He put his notepad and pencil away, and sat down next to Moon, listening to her snore as he watched over her while she slept

Moon shines from the window onto them

Gohan looks over to the window, and notices the light of the sun hitting Moon's face, making it shine brighter than ever. He smiles at her, admiring the way the light shines on her face so much. He looks over at his drawing of her, and then looks back at Moon sleeping peacefully. He leans in closer, giving her a small and gentle kiss on her forehead, hoping she won't notice, or be startled by the gesture.

2 hours later

Gohan was sitting quietly next to Moon still, listening to her snore, the sounds of her soft and peaceful breathing was a calming noise for him, he liked being around her while she slept. He still admired the drawing of Moon on the notepad, and then a big idea came to him, an idea that he thought was crazy, but would surely impress Moon. He takes out his notepad and pencils again, and starts to draw another picture of Moon, but this time, he makes her look like an angel. Her hair flows, and her eyes look like a sparkling crystal. She looks beautiful.

After 3 hours

Gohan was still sitting next to Moon, listening to her peaceful sounds while she slept. He then looked at the picture he drew next to her of her in her angel form. He looked at it, and thought that it was very nice, and that Moon may like it. He carefully picks up the picture and lays it down on the bed next to Moon. He smiles and waits for her to wake up, so he can see how she reacts to the drawing of her that he made in her sleep.

It was 4 in the morning when Moon woke up

He heard Moon waking up, he sits up and looks at her, he smiles at her and nods "Good morning, Moon." He notices her looking at the drawing he made of her, and he waits anxiously to see what her response is going to be. He is a bit nervous about this drawing, because he put a lot of hard work into creating it, and if she reacts in an extremely negative way to it, then he's probably not going to want to ever give anyone a drawing he makes ever again, so he is pretty nervous about what she will say.

"Hm" That was all Moon said when she looks at the drawing before going into her suit case pulling out a picture frame and she puts the drawing inside of the picture frame

He smiles at Moon and looks at the picture frame, his heart fluttering

"So you like it then? Are you happy that I drew you?" he asks, looking up at her eagerly

He then pauses, and thinks about what he could say next for a moment... maybe he should try to make a joke "Oh! I see you already set it up in the picture frame, you could say that the drawing is 'a work of art'." He chuckles to himself, looking up at her expectantly again.

Moon tried not to laugh

Gohan notices her holding in her laughter, looking at her, feeling happy that she wants to hold it in, but he can tell that she finds his joke a bit funny "Well, I can tell you find that joke of mine funny... Why don't you let out that laugh you're holding back, I think it's a pretty good joke." He says with a smile

Moon had gulp down her laugh and her face went back to neutral

"Oh come on..." He says playfully "I've seen you laugh, I know that you're a fun person to be around."

"She's being too much right now.... She's still holding in her emotions, she needs to laugh or smile more.. Why don't I try to make her laugh?"

"Hm... do you know why Goku likes to fight so much?" He says playfully

"Why?"

"Because he finds the strength he has... super-ior to others." He says with a smile, he waits to see how you react to that joke of his

"Do you know why Trunks doesn't have much luck with girls?" He asks, he's enjoying this back and forth conversation they are having, and is finding it fun to be joking around with him

"why?" Moon asked again

"Because everytime he tries to talk to a girl, he gets shut down." He says with a smirk on his face "But you know what they say, every cloud has a silver lining. There's always a chance that you'll find that perfect person."

"(I am enjoying this, I like talking to her, she's definitely more fun than I originally thought.)" He has a bit of a chuckle to himself, while he looks at Moon, waiting to see if she'll respond to his jokes

"Corny jokes Gohan I like them though" Moon replied 

He's happy that he made her laugh at both of the jokes he told, and when she compliments his joke, it makes him feel even happier "Ahem! A lot more than corny, Miss Moon." He takes on a bit of a cocky look, but he's not serious and is just playing around "Corny jokes are a lost form of art, I am an artist, and a great one at that! There is no denying that my jokes are of the utmost quality, even though some may seem... Corny" He says playfully

"Ok Mr. Perfection" Moon said with slightly fun tone

He smiles at Moon, finding her slightly fun tone amusing

"Well... it's true I am Mr. Perfection." He says it in a sarcastic, but fun tone

"But let me ask you this... Do you know what Vegeta and a toilet are similar?" He says, looking at Moon, waiting for her to either figure it out or ask him what the answer to the joke is

"What?" Moon asked ready for another one of his corny jokes

"They're both full of crap... and they're both a pain in the butt." He says with a chuckle, looking at Moon with a smirk on his face, waiting for her to either laugh at his joke or to roll her eyes at it

"WTH Gohan" Moon actually laughed this time

"WTH? Now who's using corny expressions." He says with a small smirk on his face

"Well, it looks like she's laughing for real, and that's good, I like her when she's laughing, and I like her when she's smiling."

"Do you know why Vegeta and Piccolo are so alike?" He asks her, trying to get her to laugh again with another joke, wondering if it'll work this time.

"Why Gohan?" Moon asked finally feeling lest moody

"Well, Vegeta and Piccolo are both really 'stiff' in their hearts." He says with a cheeky smile, waiting for her to either laugh or tell him he's stupid

He is a bit confused by her not being as moody, and wondering if he should be happy for her because she's laughing, or if he should be a bit worried "It's good to see you laugh, and smile, Moon."

"Wow Gohan it's hard to tell if your a Artist" Moon laugh a little

Gohan smiles at her "Thank you, Miss Moon. It's nice to know that I made you laugh, and brought a smile to your face." He pauses for a moment, and then decides to try and talk a bit more serious "I, uh... I must apologize for earlier, when I first met you, I came off as a bit too... over-confident, let's put it that way. It's not common for me to do that, but I was just very curious about you. I didn't mean any harm, I hope you know that I didn't mean to offend you

"Oh ok"

A small awkward silence comes over between Gohan and Moon, but Gohan seems eager to fill it

"What... uh... what about you? Are you an artist, Miss Moon? You... remind me of someone in a sense." He says, a bit sheepishly

"Yeah I draw time to time" Moon says as she starts reading her book

He notices her reading her book, and looks at her for a few seconds before deciding to ask her about her book

"Hm.... A book that she's reading... I wonder if I should ask her about it? No I shouldn't, that would probably make her feel uncomfortable..."

He stays silent for a few moments, and then decides to ask her "Hey, uh... Moon, what book are you reading right now?" He says with a genuine look of curiosity on his face

Moon says nothing

Gohan sits next to Moon a bit confused

He feels as if he messed up, he should've known better than to ask her about the book she was reading... He should've been more considerate.

"Oh... Sorry, I shouldn't have asked... I just got a bit curious..." He looks down at the ground "Umm.. I'll... I'll be... over there..." He slowly gets up from next to her and walks a few steps away from her, trying to give her some alone time. He sits down, looking at the ground, slightly upset with himself.

Gang: *turns to his father, holding out a moth* "I saw a moth, and I'm keepin' it, Daddy."

Gang: *smiles from ear to ear* "His name's MothEw."

*Gohan blinks, staring at his toddler son while Yang watches, holding in laughter...then fails*

Yang: *laughs* "Ha! That's my sweetie! Bahahahahahahaha!!"

Gohan: *deep exhale* "Okay, MothEw it is."

PLOT SUMMARY: A few of the Z Fighters decide to take a break from training for the androids by entering the 24th Martial Arts Tournament. But in the most bizarre case of Deja Vu, Goku is once again confronted by a fighter who claims to know him. And when he doesn't recognize him, the man declares himself as their enemy. These fighters just cannot catch a break.

Rude Encounter

"Hey there! My name's Gohan, I am a half-Saiyan from Earth! You've probably heard of my father, Goku!"

"Actually no I haven't" Moon replied

"Oh, ok, well my father is the famous Goku! I'm sure you've heard of him. He's a great fighter, and an amazing friend to many, and most definitely me! I look up to him a lot. I'm a half-Saiyan, and I was raised here on planet Earth, so I'm a protector of the planet, just like my dad!"

"Nope I haven't" Moon walks past the tall Saiyan Gohan

"Oh, uh, alright then... Guess I'll just be on my way. Oh! Before you go, would you mind hearing a fun fact about me?"

He gives you a friendly smile

"No" Moon was about to fly away Gohan, a bit saddened, raises his head and calls to you louder "Hey! Wait! One more thing! I'd like to tell you something! One thing!"

No Moon starts to fly away

He keeps shouting after you "Please! Hold on just a little bit longer, I have something that I think you'd find interesting! It's important, at least just listen for a moment!"

"Go tell someone else" Moon yelled back at him

"Aww, come on! Please! I'm just trying to make conversation with you!"

Gohan runs towards you, wanting to shout at you before you fly off

Moon flies away "what a weirdo" Moon thought

He shouts loud enough for you to hear "Dang it! Why do people always leave when I want to tell them something!" His head is down, seeming disappointed, he slouches down, looking sad

The next day Moon was at a coffee shop reading a book Gohan walks into the same coffee shop, he looks up and sees you reading, he recognizes you, and takes a seat at a table near you, he starts to talk to himself "Hmm, I think I've seen her somewhere before, she looks very familiar. But from where? Oh! She's that one person I tried to talk to yesterday! Maybe I should try to engage a conversation with her again." He clears his throat and stands up, walking towards you

Moon was just reading her book

"Hello there! Mind if I sit here with you?" He sits down, waiting for a response

"I actually do mind so go sit somewhere else" Moon rudely implied

"Well, that's not too nice, what'd I do to you? He says in a disappointed tone

He slowly stands up and goes to a seat at a different table. He sits there, glancing at you every now and then

Moon goes back to reading her book

"Grr... What has that girl got against me, just because I was friendly to her? Hmm, you know what? She deserves a little bit of a scare."

Gohan jumps on top of the table next to you

"Hey! Hey! Don't just continue to ignore me!" He shouts

Moon punch him and left the coffee shop

"Ow! What'd you just do that for? That hurt, you know."

Gohan got a small cut on his cheek, he looks a bit startled, but also annoyed

"Great, now I have a small cut on my face, thanks a lot!" He grumbles, putting his hand on his face, and wiping away the small amount of blood "What is her deal with me? I was just trying to be friendly..."

Moon was just walking down the street reading her book

Gohan spots you on the street, and a look of annoyance comes across his face. He approaches you, and taps you on the shoulder

"Hey! Pay attention to me, now. I need you to listen to me."

Moon Ignores him

"Hey! I'm talking to you! Listen to what I have to say!" Gohan shouts at you, trying to get your attention

"Don't just ignore me, it's rude!" He says in an irritated tone

The next day Moon was in her dorm room waiting for a new roommate that she was inform about. Gohan walks into the dorm room, he quickly recognizes Moon, and gives her a small smile "Hello again! How are you doing?" He glances around a little bit, searching for his new roommate

Moon this your new roommate Gohan Ms. Chaly said

*He turns his head to the woman that's speaking "Oh, well hello Ms. Chaly! And yes, yes, I am supposed to be the new roommate for Moon."

Gohan walks over to Moon, giving her a small smile and nodding

Yes and I should be going Ms. Chaly said while wave goodbye

Gohan waves at Ms. Chaly as she leaves

"So... Moon, it must be kind of weird to have me as your roommate, I mean, the last time we met, you hit me in the face." He smiles at her "But let all that be behind us, let's start fresh, right?" He reaches his hand out to you "I'd like to get to know you."

Moon slaps his hand away and starts to read a book

Gohan takes a step back, looking a bit taken aback by your response, his smile suddenly drops, and he seems a bit hurt by it

"Ahh... come on, why is she doing that... I tried to say sorry... I was just being nice, and this is what I get. Hmm... I really want to get to know her, though." He thinks for a moment, and the light bulb in his head goes off "Maybe... I should prove to her my intentions are good." He quickly takes off his Gi, and transforms into his Mighty Saiyan Form

Moon finally looks up *What are you doing*

"Ghaaaah!" He screams, transforming into a huge, muscular, and towering version of himself, his golden energy rising up and flowing around him "Show. You. Wrong...." He looks down at you, with an intense, serious look on his face, it looks like he's not joking around anymore

Moon goes back to reading her book A bit annoyed, he leans down to you and picks you up with his large and powerful hand "If I have to show you..." He starts to shake you, moving you up and down "... that I mean you absolutely no harm... So be it." He lets you go, and crosses his arms, looking at you with his same serious face

"Let's try this one more time... Hello. I'm your roommate, Gohan. I don't want to fight you. Can we be friends?" He extends his hand out to you again

Moon was laughing while Gohan was shaking her

Gohan lets out a small chuckle when he hears you laughing at him and how he shook you up, he's glad you found humor in it, he calms down a bit, letting all the yellow energy around him disappear, revealing his normal form "Well... if you're not afraid of me anymore, would you like to get to know each other?" He smiles at you, waiting for your response, he's happy that you're not afraid of him anymore, and he hopes you'll say yes

"Maybe" Moon says as she goes back to reading her book

"Huh? She still can't give me that 'yes' that I want to hear." Gohan thinks to himself "What's wrong with this girl? Why won't she acknowledge my friendly gesture?"

"Well... I hope that 'maybe' turns into a 'yes' one day soon." He says to you in a friendly tone "Anyway, I'm going to go get some food from the cafeteria, do you want anything?" He asks, his tone still sounding friendly

"Nope"

Gohan shrugs his shoulders, he smiles at you "Alrighty then, I'll be back later." He waves to you and leaves the room, closing the door behind him as he goes

"I hope I can one day have a good and lasting friendship with you, Moon." He says under his breath, as he walks down the hallway of the dorm
