not a Medwin shipper but Morgause raising Medraut offcially as Lot's legitimate son and then marrying him to his cousin Goewin after Lleu died of "natural" causes, makes so much more sense than raising Medraut as a bastard born from incest with no support. One clever marriage alliance could have spared them so much bloodshed and paved Medraut a way to the throne. I don't even know what Morgause was hoping to achieve when she slept with Artos. Did she think that she could hide their relation forever? That people wouldn't care about the incest because they are royals? It's impossible, even if he wanted to, Artos could have never married his sister and made her queen. It's a sin in the eyes of church. The only explanation for this plan was that Morgause was young and dumb and in love.

I have jumped into the deep depths of shipping and medrunesh must as abusive as medlleu or medwin or goelleu, etc etc. I don't think medraut could have been sane enough to love turunesh because she was normal. I don't know how to describe their dynamic in my head, but it's basically you are my angela. because the entire manga reminded me of medrunesh!

what do you think about goelleu?

I don't ship it per se, but I'm interested in it if put in a specific scenario where a three way succession war breaks out between Medraut, Goewin and Lleu, but it's actually Medraut and Goewin fighting each other with Lleu as the prize (as he deserves my helen of troy coded prince <3). AU where Medraut projects his mommy issues onto Goewin and Goewin basically turns into the Morgause to Lleu's Artos. (maybe she did touch Medraut when he thought he was dreaming of Morgause but she was too young to understand her desires. And when she got older she became jealous and angry that Medraut did not view her as a competiton unlike Lleu, even though he was the only one to aknowledge her talents. Her injuring Medraut with her spear could have led to another kind of awakening in Medraut). It's up in the air if Medraut had a corrupting influence on her or if the reminder of a younger Morgause bought out the worst in him.

A strong requirement for me to ship Goelleu is for Medwin, Medlleu and Goelleu to all happen, but Medraut and Goewin act as equals, as rivals turned allies while Lleu just suffers. Lleu can't expect comfort from Goewin, not until she has taken everything from him. It's just betrayal after betrayal. They started out inseparable as twins and when Lleu meets Goewin again on the battlefield she has become unrecognizeable to him. She's become a stranger and he is scared. Lleu longs to go back to the past where they were one soul split into two bodies, but Goewin seeks to separate herself from Lleu and distance herself enough that they could become lovers. She isn't willing to be Lleu's shadow advisor he can go to seek councel and then take credit for her work. She wants him to realize that as a king he'd be nothing without her. Medraut has always been like this but Goewin had hidden her ambitious and jealous side better from him. Lleu would blame Medraut for bringing out of Goewin what has always been there.

I can also see myself shipping Medwin/Goelleu if it's a dark Goewin AU where Morgause mentors her, grooms her and intends to marry her to Medraut or Agravain but Goewin emerges from this abuse as a pawn turned queen, stronger than before without any morals to hold her back, who thinks she deserves to wed both of her brothers. She'd think of Lleu as the heart she had left in Camelan.

When I finished TWP I wondered how the fandom dynamic would be like if the book had been more popular and wondered if some people would ship Medwin or Goelleu and that person missing was you! I'm impressed by your creativity to find potential in ships no one has ever thought of before (more Abreha x Priamos! Please share your thoughts!). With you I'm never alone with my wmmap rarepairs. Is there any recommendation for gothic horror or maybe lolita-esque books? I would love read them! I've also recently started reading The Lady Devil, the female lead is the basic innocent FL and the male lead is the classic "sunshine but can kill you" and the story is quite compelling enough to keep me... minorly engaged. However, I love the story because it's somewhat goelleu coded and I love goelleu so I'm keeping my hopes up and I'll continue reading! However, I've heard great reviews for The Pale Horse so I'll try that out soon! 💓

I haven't read that much Gothic Horror I must admit. I loved Jane Eyre and liked The Picture of Dorian Grey, Frankenstein and The Bloody Chamber (though only the main titled short story and The Lady of the House of Love).

In my search for a Lolita-esque book I tried to read Tampa by Alissa Nutting but found it pretty cheap. The book that gave me the closest feeling to Lolita (beautiful prose + fucked up underage incest) was the Carnivorous Lamb. I have yet to finish reading it though. The underage was very underage. I'd only recommend that book to hardcore incest lovers. I've heard many bloggers who've liked Lolita also liked Stoker and am planning to watch it soon. Not a book, but I would also recommend Flowers in the Attic: Origins.

Medraut visits his uncle because Artos wants to give his nephew a high position at court if he can prove his worth. Secretly Artos has already given up on his son making it to adulthood and plays with the thought of adopting Medraut/naming him his heir. Just like in canon Medraut manages to save Lleu's life who has been battling an illness all winter long but he and Lleu don't become close friends, because Lleu feels like his father has already abandoned him in favour of a healthier son. Artos finally gives in to Morgause's demands to unite their houses and promises Medraut Goewin's hand in marriage as a reward for saving his heir's life. In this AU Lleu would be the more jealous and resentful one because he can feel Medraut erode his sister's loyality when he boosts her confidence and assures her of her qualities as a ruler. Lleu is probably also the one who investigates the incest between Artos and Morgause and uncovers they are siblings in an attempt to break Goewin/Medraut up. He is upset at Medraut for stealing his father's attention and threatening his and his twin's codependence. He might try to seduce Medraut to make him lose interest in Goewin and prove Medraut is "rotten", but then the plan goes backwards as it ends up being Goewin's fujoshi awakening :3
