Our second day in Rome started early! We met up with others at the Piazza del Popola and then drove in a big bus to Pompeii! Mom and I wandered through alleys and streets that seemed never ending with signs of a vibrant city from the past. Completely amazing. Then we drove and walked up Mt. Vesuvius, part of the Apennine Mountains, with its old lava flows, the old crater and incredible views! We could see the beautiful city of Naples and the Bay of Naples/Tyrrhenian Sea!! So so incredible! We did get to eat Napoli pizza which is so amazing! Today was such a day of miracles as well! Our guide helped us to book a covid test along with a fellow traveller since we need one before we fly home!! They were so incredibly kind! We’ve entered a global epidemic of anxiety/depression and addiction. Obviously there are multiple factors contributing to this sharp rise but I do think one of those factors is social media, and the detrimental propensity to compare ourselves to others. Comparison not only robs us of gratitude and joy, it can elicit negativity and bullying/hate. HOWEVER, the upside to social media is WE have the power to spread LOVE, COMPASSION & SUPPORT to combat the hate, judgement or fear. I was on my way to an AA meeting yesterday, and stopped by to see Stephanie. She is my plant Guru. I’m not sure she realizes the magnificent healing she has brought to my life through these plants she encouraged me to bring home. It was time to buy my first one that would bloom. Sometimes we intellectually know our story and we're really good at telling it.
