Excitement caused goosebumps to prickle across his skin, making every hair stand on end. He normally wasn't the sort to ask when he wanted something, but something about the way she said it, the way she held herself when she was only just barely concealing some level of threat...it made Orin's heart race.

As if he wasn't eager enough as it was.

Still, even in his good mood, he noticed the pause. It wasn't much , but it was enough to make his brow lower on his face. Maybe she hadn't ever been on one before? But that seemed unlikely. Sure, Orin realized he was making assumptions, but girls like her that were dressed the way she was dressed often had been on motorcycles...at least, that was Orin's experience.

But any misgivings he had were fleeting, forgotten the moment he felt her hand touch his. Plus, his assumptions had been right. A little ego boost never failed to bring him up. However, at the mention of girlfriends, Orin's expression faltered for a moment, the corners of his smile twitching for a moment before he shook his head.

"She's not my girlfriend," he replied, pulling his hand away as he got onto the bike, gesturing for Laelia to join him. His humor was quick to return as he looked over his shoulder. "And even if she was I wouldn't cheat right in front of her like this. I'm not that dumb."

He was quiet for a moment before continuing. "I don't really do girlfriend's anyway."

Certainly, the reason he was still around her. Though there was something sort of endearing about his brash confidence. Besides, it was not wholly undeserved, at least where his looks were concerned.

Laelia enjoyed his eyes on her. Putting on a bit of a show... It was only right that he should appreciate all the effort she'd put into looking as good as she did, in her red heels and tight black dress with the low-cut back that revealed glimpses of her snake tattoo.

Orin's remark made her turn to study him, trying to determine if he was making fun of her, or if this was something else.

"Oh, honey..." she told him, fixing her gaze on him. "Without hesitation." She leaned in before continuing, "But you know, you don't have to misbehave. If you want to see my knife, all you have to do is ask." It was beginning to sound less like a threat and more like an invitation.

Of course, she didn't want him to give her a reason to defend herself. But if he was so damn curious, she was sure they could come to an arrangement that suited both of them.

Laelia paused. The motorcycle shouldn't have been a surprise. Of course, he had a motorcycle. But something about it disconcerted her, just like Orin himself. And just like with Orin, she was quick to dismiss the awkward drop in her stomach.

"Been a while," she muttered, staring at the bike for a moment before returning her attention to Orin where it belonged.

Recovering her smile, she stepped up to him, idly caressing the back of his hand. "Don't tell me you're one of those guys who calls his motorcycle 'she' and treats it like his girlfriend."
