Éliane Radigue
Tumblr media
13.09.2020 Event | Centre Pompidou, Paris
For the first time the major Parisian institution dedicates a special event celebrating the work of Éliane Radigue. A pioneer of electro-acoustic experimentation, Radigue has forged a unique and highly influential path in contemporary music, exploring minimal rhythms and changes in harmonies that unfold into complex sonic webs.
The event was organized on the proposal of Anne Davidian, in collaboration between IRCAM and Musée national d'art moderne, and with support of the Evens Foundation.
The one-day program highlighted both the electronic and acoustic periods of Radigue’s work, encompassing an ambisonic installation and live concerts, a film screening, and a conversation with the artist.
A special publication featuring a text by Éliane Radigue, accompanied by her scores and drawings was designed by Goda Budvytytė.

Caption: Drawing depicting the Île de la Cité, conceived as a wander through time, in the heart of Paris, from Lutetia to the present day. Strongly linked to the intimate geography of Éliane Radigue’s childhood, she submitted it as a prompt for musicians to explore for the realization of Occam Hexa I (2013).
