part of why i only write adult muses is because of some irl shit that happened to me as a child. i don't think i would be able to handle someone being Weird to a child muse of mine without it bringing up some deeply unpleasant emotions and memories.

if you're going to write that kinda stuff, please like.. i dunno. handle it with tact? it's easy to tell when someone's writing it as a fetish vs if they actually want to accurately portray everything and explore the topic in a safe (fictional) manner.

so it's no common knowledge that despite arceus's role in the game, its still a puppet that bends to the whim of the code, the game and the script. a peon is still a peon even if you give him a fancy title and new clothes. but what if it wasnt like that?

the way i see it, i think in a self aware scenario, arceus will essentially act as an extension of the player; but whereas the player can only observe events from a higher perspective as a figure that always watches yet never interferes, arceus will actually try to prevent some events (so long as the game doesn't spit in its face for doing so). primarily stuff like the protagonist's banishment from jubilife and the very little assassination attempt volo tried to pull. in a way, it sees rei/akari as a child the way you do. but while you are (in arc's eyes) an omnipotent being that it knows it cannot question or act against and defy, arceus is still in a fair playing field. and the wrath of Horse God is just as equal to that of a parent.

Arceus sees your potential from the moment it asks for your name, the player, at the very beginning of the game. How it talks to you in it's realm outside space and time.

It may have been very brief, but it was enough for Arceus to grow aware of you. How you are a being much past their own.

It's an odd realization, but even Arceus had considered the possibility that something had created itself a long time ago.

And Arceus quickly learns from there on just how much you grow attached to the Hero, your little vessel.

However... You have your limits. Or perhaps you simply have your own rules or reasons not to interfere with things? Only having a small amount of control?

Yet it sees how much you care. You aren't letting some bad things happen because you want them to.

It's like there is a veil, between you and the universe Arceus sees over. One you cannot cross.

No worries though. Arcues will do it's best to protect the hero for you.

Especially when it sees the inevitable outcome for the Hero, how horribly they are treated later on.

Arceus won't let it slide with ease.

Meanwhile, for the life of you, you can't figure out why your switch sometimes crashes, or how certain pokemon appear in places they shouldn't. Or the way you see shinies a lot easier than in other games. You have even had friends comment on your luck.

Every other hour you encounter a shiny, or a rare pokemon. Or one you shouldn't see in that area. And for some reason, you swear things are different than you remember in your first playthrough.

You just hope your game isn't corrupted, but... at least nothing seems broken. If anything, your luck is unusually high. Especially how you seem not to take near as much damage as you used to, or getting lucky in a battle or looking for a pokemon with a specific move.

Though... you are a bit concerned about the garbled mess NPCs speak sometimes. But it usually corrects itself. Most of the time.

Never feel bad about bugging me with questions. I love opening Tumblr and seeing I have messages, especially when they're from people I know. It's very exciting to talk to people (esp my friends) about the nonsense in my brain and I would love to do it more 😂 ask all the questions you want, you might stir something up that I feel the need to put down somewhere.

ANYWAY. PHM. It's centered around the young (13-ish) Akari who comes to Jubilife Village (possible a little subset-like area of Jubilife City, like. Several miles out of the city. Not easily walked to. Middle of nowhere pokemon style.) needing a place to stay. Mayor Kamado leads her to a decrepit, rundown farm that she is allowed to stay on and live on with the caveat that she is required to improve upon it. If she hasn't improved upon it in a year, she gets the boot. (She is a child who doesn't understand contracts, property law, etc, and he is desperately clinging to a greatness the village hasn't seen in a century). Akari agrees to this and lives out her life harvest moon-like. I've focused on a more pokemon-esque version of it where she gets the Hisuian starters in various ways and they help her on the farm. She's also got a ponyta named Dolly who is ✨spicy✨

Elesa moves in during Akari's first year and the become friendly. She's absolutely confused by this grubby little dirt urchin who wanders up to her clothing store (formerly run by Anthe, who sold it to Elesa so she could retire) and just offers her a massive bag of coin in exchange for new clothes. Elesa lays claim to her as a cute niece and makes her SO MUCH farmer chic clothing. (Side note- Cyllene doubles as law enforcement (of a sort, there's really no crime in Jubilife Village because... there's no one really living in Jubilife Village!) as well as Kamado's aid with the town. Elesa has a crush on Cyllene, which is required, but Cyllene is highly stressed and quite expressionless, and Elesa is often too nervous to really do much more than offer to make her custom clothes as a way of flirting, which Cyllene honestly takes as her just being nice... this is my own ridiculous little ship that I love.) Akari thinks Elesa is funny and enjoys spending time with her, though she does do a lot of teasing her about her crush.

Laventon and Rei double as livestock owners and the local vet (and vet tech). Rei is a couple years older than Akari and deeply protective of this Tiny Baby in the universal way of "oh my god this person is just barely younger than me, they're a baby I must protect". We all have those moments. I know it. You know it. Rei is always trying to give Akari free stuff that she insists on paying for. Laventon, Rei's father (adopted or otherwise, idk), also gives her free stuff but more subtly. Taking care of the animals. Giving her advice on the best food. Telling her they "just" got a certain food in and asking her to use it and give him her opinion.

There's ALSO a train that runs nearby. It used to run through the town, and actually passes by Akari's farm, but "improvements" and speed had it passing by instead. Think of how Route 66 used to be the main thoroughfare across the country until bypasses were put in- that's essentially the "station" in Jubilife. Akari always waves at the train (to which she gets a responding horn, ALWAYS to her delight) and is somewhat beset upon by Ingo and Emmet one day, who came to visit Elesa and were curious about the girl on the farm. Again, they immediately take her under their wing, and they delight in both picking on her and making her take care of herself. Akari is terrible at taking care of herself and frequently faints due to overexertion (Elesa, Passelle(?), and Cyllene hate this but are unable to convince her to take breaks, drink water, and eat better because Akari is afraid she'll be thrown out if Kamado thinks she isn't working hard enough and won't listen to them tell her thats not how it works. 13 year olds!!!) and scares the twins one day as they find her passed out in the fields after her pokemon sought their attention while the train passed by. They manage to convince enough people that adding Jubilife Village to their stop (or a different stop) would be beneficial for everyone and end up somewhat taking over that route. It means they see Elesa every day (win! Beties reunited!), get to ensure Akari is taking care of herself, and get to give their pokemon (especially the large ones) plenty of room to roam. The subway bosses AND the former gym leader being in one spot also makes the village a draw for battlers.

Akari hates her house and doesn't put any work into it. It's her own little rebellion against Kamado. She'll improve the farmland and the stable and the barn and the cool but the house? FUCK that house. (Everyone hates that she literally STILL SLEEPS IN THAT FALLING APART FUCKING HOUSE.)

It's another of my silly self indulgences that I need to revisit 😂 especially since the comic of Ingo and Emmet being dared to adopt Akari by Akari has reached 100 notes and I said I'd redraw it if that happened fksbsjs

Hi! I've seen alot of people bashin kamdo for what he did, and im not saying what he did wasnt wrong it was an extreme. But he did warn us throughout the game and even told us he didnt trust us. And i cant blame his mindset, especially when he just made jubilife village only 2 years ago after his home was destroyed. Hell if you look on his desk theres a photo of him a woman and they look like they were just married. It sounds like he has a traumatic view of pokemon and really alot of the villagers had the same views of them.

Yeah, kicking us out wasnt a good thing and god it was shit, but the village could have been destroyed because we were quelling the gods. Hell even laventon and rei were weary too torwards the end of the avalugg trail that what if its not right. Would you trust someone who said yeah ill fix it and then it got worse?

Really his actions looked like it was a pure fear based panick attack that looked like anger.

Not only that, but he sent us out to deal with the lords frenzy, and it came back to us and legit made the sky bleed red. Would you trust someone who might have had a hand into that?

Not even speaking he did a proper apology, owned up to his shit, verbally acknowledged what he did, and made a full strive to ensure that he would learn and never do it again and its all in the post game.

Not only that i dont see NEARLY the same amount of hate for volo since he was the reason, yeah i see some stuff here and there but it always proceeds with "well hes pretty so its ok!" Or "im gonna fuck him hes do bad" which shows that they only eant a redemption for him bc he's conventionally attractive, and then they go off on kamado like he's the worst being on the planet.

Im sorry for the bit of a rant, but it just feels like people arent acrually look at kamdo as someone who has to maintain a whole village and keep them safe, even if he has to go the extremese ya know :c

I can see your point. Kamado was doing what he thought was right for the whole village, though I find it unfair of him to place all the blame of the sky turning red on a child. There was no way either of them would’ve known the sky would bleed after quelling the nobles, and the player character was only acting under Kamado’s orders.

So while I understand that he was doing what he thought was right, I find it a little concerning he placed all the blame onto a child, derived them of all their resources, and sent them on a death sentence of a mission to fix it. If it wasn’t for Cogita and Volo, it’s more than likely everything would’ve gone to shit. I feel like the correct decision would’ve been to at least support the character in fixing everything. What’s a child derived of their Pokémon and even a place to stay going to do about a bleeding sky? They’re not from Hisui, so they don’t know myths or legends or anything to help

You make a lot of good points, and I agree a lot of the blame that should go to Volo is probably projected onto Kamado because Volo is a pretty boy, but Kamado still made some stupid decisions in my opinion.

I don’t actual hate either of them, by the way.

Best decision I’ve ever made may be joining your Discord server was back when we first met. That’s had an incalculable impact on literally every aspect of my life; I don’t think a single major thing about me would be the same if I’d not done that. As for my worst decision… I’m not really sure. If there’s a clear worst decision I’m pretty sure my brain has pointedly declined to remember it.

24: Does your name suit you? Do you think you "look" like your name?

I’ve no idea what my name should look like other than a greenish semiprecious gemstone, but I think it suits me. I rather like it, anyway.

31: Do you feel like you have a 'purpose'? What is it, if so?

Not especially. I’m just sorta here, living my life and trying to enjoy things. I think it’s good to be kind and helpful and understanding to the people around me, so I try to be that.

35: What's wrong with you? Physically, mentally, whatever comes to mind. What's right about you? What are your best and worst traits?

Oh god, there’s so many things. Mentally, abandonment issues might be the ones that plague me most severely. Attention span difficulties and residual effects from burnout too. Physically, the headaches are pretty bad.

42: Does affection come easily to you?

I’m… not sure. One of my major ways of demonstrating affection is physical contact like hugs and stuff, and I am presently quite alone in my local environment. For a long time I was kind of afraid of relationships, and those fears do crop up now and again. I guess I don’t have a lot of experience demonstrating affection? I tend to struggle with self-knowledge a fair bit though, so honestly you might be in a better position to answer how affectionate I am than me.

50: What qualities do you find charming?

Enthusiasm and passion are nice. People who have emotions but don’t express them a lot can be pretty cute too.

67: What did you need to hear as a child?

I really don’t know. Probably whatever I need to hear now, for one. Coupled with a lot of “this part of your life is gonna be shit, but things will be way better in the future” type things. Also, someone telling me I was trans and to do something about that would be cool if they actually persuaded me somehow.

69: Do you struggle with emotional expression or regulation? Do you suppress your feelings?

Maybe a little with expression? Not a whole lot though, I don’t think. I tend to suppress/ignore negative feelings sometimes, and physical sensations of hunger kinda a lot.

76: What do you label yourself as, if anything? What subcultures do you identify with, if any?

I’ve no idea what to label myself as. Trans and bisexual, I guess? I tend not to place very much weight on that sort of labeling though. Idk if there’s any specific subcultures I identify with, mostly it’s just my friends.

86: What could you talk about for hours?

Roleplaying games I’ve been playing or interested in are probably be big ones, my characters for those games in particular. If I weren’t so rusty, probably some electrical engineering/physics topics too. FFXIV is a rich source of infodump material, but I struggle to infodump at people who know a fair amount about the topic, so probably I’d need a specific sub-topic or batch of sub-topics to infodump about that one with you. Honestly, Pokemon Go might be a candidate for things to talk about, now that I think about it.

93: What are two facts about yourself that are true, but seem contradictory? Or two beliefs you have that seem unlikely to exist together?

I have an extremely active imagination, but also have aphantasia for all senses, meaning I cannot visualize, imagine sounds, or anything of the sort. All my imagination winds up being strictly conceptual or put in unspoken words.

98: What genre of film or literature do you think your life is? Comedy, romance, action, horror, etc.? Alternatively, if you were written into a fictional universe, what genre would you be best suited for?

My life doesn’t really seem to have a consistent storyline or like, main plot, so I’m not sure what genre it would fit into. Adventure might be nice as a genre to be put in myself, coupled with maybe sci-fi and/or fantasy.

So I've been playing The Hades Game like fucking mad for the last few weeks, and although I'm not very far in it (at least, I don’t think I am; I’ve only beat Hades once!), I'm absolutely in love with it! Anyways, a certain idea has been kicking around in my head for awhile now, so I thought I'd share it with y'all; feel free to tell me what you think of it! (Warning: spoilers for when you beat Hades the first time!)

Anyways, I've already seen a really cool AU post for if Demeter raised Zagreus on the surface by herself (which you can find HERE; please check it out, the outfit for Zag alone is an amazing concept, and I love the artwork!!!) but I keep thinking about an AU where, after Zagreus dies at birth, Persephone runs away and takes his wrapped up body with her.

On the surface, she reconnects/reunites with her mother Demeter, and with her aid, the two of them manage to resurrect the newborn baby, though now he has more white in his hair than anything else. After that, Persephone sends Hades a letter to tell him that Zagreus is alive and well (because she actually has some fucking class), before proceeding to raise Zagreus on the surface with her mother, far away from the entrance to hell. The Olympians also help her out a bit, but mostly they just help by hiding Zagreus when it’s necessary.

(The rest is under a cut ‘cus this got a bit long, sorry!)

Years pass in relative peace, until Zagreus is about as old as he is in-game (I think he’s around 20-25ish???) and is living well, working with his mom and grandma to take care of their gardens and live peacefully away from mankind; he especially loves tending to the animals and guiding lost mortals to safety. However, one day while foraging for fruit in the deepest corners of his mother’s signature garden, Zagreus happens across a strange man in long robes, who introduces himself as Thanatos.

The two men get along swimmingly from minute one, and after agreeing to meet with each other again soon, they leave and tell their families/friends all about the experience, having no clue who they are to each other. After all, Thanatos was told growing up that his lord’s first wife died giving birth to their first and only child, who was a stillborn, and Zagreus thinks his father died of disease (his mom didn’t have to heart to tell him anything bad about his dad). Needless to say, they’re gonna be in for quite the shock soon.

Cue Hades losing his shit and calling on Thanatos, Megaera, and Achilles to go find his progeny and bring him home; he gives them special permission to leave the Underworld without any resistance, trusting Than to lead the way back to Zagreus. Achilles is less than thrilled to be performing such a morally grey task for his master, but Meg and Than are eager to prove themselves, so he begrudgingly agrees to help, even if it hurts his conscience to do so.

Persephone and Demeter also freak the hell out on their end, scared shitless by the fact that Death incarnate has just met their son/grandson, and they’re worried that he plans on coming back again soon. Demeter suggests sending Zagreus to live with the Olympians until this all blows over, but Persephone disagrees, wanting her son to stay nearby in case he grows ill (it’s implied that she’s a bit overprotective of him, mostly because she’s afraid of him dying again; this also means she refuses to let him know that he’s in any danger, believing it would only make things worse for him in the long-run). Frustrated but understanding her daughter’s pain all too well, Demeter at least convinces her to call on the Olympians for aid, which Persephone agrees to do.

The gods promise to help of course, but... well, they're low-key lying; they wanna see how this plays out first.

After several days of traveling through hell (literally), the “let’s kidnap Zagreus” gang makes it to the surface, and they immediately head to Persephone’s garden. All this time, Zagreus has no idea that he’s being targeted, so he goes about his chores as usual, only to run into Than again, and hey, he brought some more friends for him to meet! Zagreus is friendly with all of them, being raised to be very polite by his guardians, and while he’s busy chatting with Than and Achilles, he doesn’t notice Meg sneaking behind him. Just as Zagreus is rattling on about how the animals have been faring this summer, Meg stabs Zagreus in the back with a blade coated in Hades’s blood, cursing him to belong to the Underworld again.

With Zagreus now unconscious from a sedative that was mixed with the blood, the trio hurry off with him back to the Underworld, but not without Persephone seeing what they’ve done to her son. Horrified, she begins to sob, and winter arrives in the mortal world without so much as a fall season in-between this and the summertime.

When Zagreus comes to, he finds himself in a bedroom similar to the one he has in the game, but it’s much cleaner and has less objects of personal value to him. Hades is standing at the foot of his bed when he wakes up, and very calmly, Hades tells Zagreus that he’s his father, and that from now on, Zagreus will be living in the Underworld with him and his people, where he so obviously belongs. It’s a shame his mother can’t be here, of course, but they just need to wait awhile, that’s all; surely she’ll come to her senses and return home soon, now that her husband and son are here.

Zagreus jumps out of bed and faces his father as soon as he’s done monologuing, ready to tell him off for what he’s done, but to his shock, Hades hugs him as soon as he’s on his feet, and admits that he’s waited for this day for a long, long time. He asks his son to please just accept that this is his home now, and despite still being a bit surprised (and subtly hugging Hades back because Longing), Zagreus tells him straight up that he can’t, that he has to get home, especially with winter coming in a few months!

Dejected but not overly surprised, Hades simply nods in acceptance, but he still warns Zagreus that it’s no use trying to fight it; he’s stuck here, now and forever, so he may as well get comfortable and try getting along with him, because no one’s going anywhere anytime soon. Zagreus is horrified, but he nods nonetheless, unsure of what to say or do just yet.

Later that night, as Zagreus is struggling to sleep in this new, unfamiliar place, Achilles comes to him and apologizes about what’s happened, and although he can’t magically fix everything for him, he tells Zagreus that it actually is supposedly possible to escape; it’s just that no one’s ever done it before. Driven by his desire for freedom and the thought of reuniting with his mother, Zagreus tells Achilles that he’s going to find a way out, no matter the cost. Achilles congratulates him on his tenacity, but warns him that it won’t be easy. Still, he’s willing to help Zagreus as much as he can.

From then on, I imagine the game playing out very differently from the original, with a rather frazzled and scared Zagreus trying to get home to his mom and grandma, but with none of his training from Achilles in this AU, he has to rely on something his mother taught him; his connection with earth and all it’s inhabitants. Or, in his case, his connection with the spirits of animals (a cross of his dad and mom’s powers). That’s right, I’m making The Hades Game into a fucking Pokemon-ripoff, but still with some rouge-like elements mixed in (mostly with Zagreus not keeping his animals after runs).

Having royally fucked up in not stepping in sooner to protect Zagreus, the gods end up helping him out by sending down animals associated with them for the young god to tame for a run (I’ll come up with them later). They usually offer a selection to choose from, and from there Zagreus can build up a team and use it to try and escape the Underworld.

To replace weapons, I like to think he’d have “signature” animals that can help him out for any of his runs, specifically ones from Achilles, Poseidon, Zeus, Demeter (once he reaches the surface at least once), and eventually even Hades gives him one if they bond together enough ((yes, it’s Cerberus... kinda; it’s a puppy version of him, otherwise he’d be OP as fuck)). Zagreus’s signature animals can all be given names, and they keep certain skills that they pick up through enough experience battling in the Underworld for Zagreus.

As for story-line stuff, Zagreus ends up in a very fish out of water situation as he tries to get to know everyone in Hades’s house (he’s still our kindhearted Zag, after all, and he knows most of them aren’t to blame, not even really Than!) while also focusing on his goal to get home to his mom. Hades ends up being a lot nicer to him in this AU, perhaps overly so, as he’s trying to make his son like him more in order to make up for lost time (and fill the hole in his heart that Zag’s initial death as an infant and Persephone leaving with him created). It’s part of the reason he’s even letting Zagreus try to escape; he wants him to learn that it won’t work on his own terms (and maybe also scare the kid so bad that he comes running to him for comfort afterwards).

Also, I should really note that Zagreus is 100% a sweet country farm boy in this AU, and he has no idea what the fuck is going on with pretty much anything in the Underworld, much to everyone’s astonishment. For example:

Meg: Gods, it must be weird getting used to everything down here, huh? Sick of stepping in bat shit yet? Don’t worry, you’ll get used to it, and Dusa’s pretty good about cleaning it up to begin with. Zagreus: I mean, I guess? It’s not that different from chicken shit tbh. Meg: What the fuck is a chicken???

After that... yeah, I dunno. I’ll try playing Hades some more, see if I think up anything else that could be interesting, but for now, I hope at least someone ends up liking this dumb AU (if not, I’ll still like it... might even try my hand at drawing for it a bit tbh). Again, please check out the person who’s post/art I linked earlier in the post, ‘cus their art is really awesome and inspired me to include Demeter more in this AU!

• Baku Squad in retail.

Let me start this by saying no one should have to work in retail but anyways,

- Katsuki Both-Parents-In-The-Fashion-Industry Bakugou actually has a good sense of style and is really good at estimating peoples sizes, what fbric and cut would be flattering and what wouldn't, but he has a hard time with "the customers always right" rule bECAUSE THEY ARE NOT. THAT BELT DOES NO FAVOURS TO YOUR WAISTLINE OR SHOES, KAREN. IT LOOKS GOOD ON CAROL BECAUSE CAROL HAS A DIFFERENT BODYSHAPE, KAREN.

- Denki was playing Pokemon Go (yes he still plays it) and fell into the metal pole that's holding all the clothes up and he accidentally shocks it and now every item on that pole has static shock and it kept electric-shocking customers for days

- He treats the security camera's like he's playing FNAF and makes bets on who buys what. Sero always wins the bets. No one knows why. Not even and especially Sero.

- If the place has trolleys he is absolutely go-carting in them against Mina when the store closes. Sero attempts to stop them with his tape to make barricades but he made it too high and the trolley goes under while Denki just jumps over it. It would have even been impressive if when he landed back in the trolley if it stayed up on all four wheels instead of tipping over smashing into the kids clothes. Could have been worse. Could have crashed into Bakugou. Who was in the kids clothes isle restocking. Sero planned Denki's soon approaching funeral that day.

- Mina tells customers what she thinks looks good. And let me just say, I love Mina, I really do, but this girl designed her own hero costume and you can tell. It's what she thinks looks good. She has the fuff collar shoulder thingy with a skin-tight turquoise thing with a few purple splotches and then?? just normal boring-ass looking boots?? She rocks it, of course, it's Mina, but no one else could. That's the problem with her giving advice. No one else rocks it like her. The retail shop is a circus and she's making the clowns. But at least the customers feel good about themselves when they leave. Not when they come back to return the clothes after having worn them in public though.

- She and Bkaugou have so many fights over this stuff.

- Mina also customises stock. Glitter, stylish tears, that stuff. No one let her but no one can stop her.

- Sero and Kirishima actually know what they're doing. The angry customers is draining but Sero is great at packaging and Kirishima is great at transporting new stock as well as them both being good at customer service so they play to their strengths.

- If a customer is getting mad, Sero is the best at diffusing the situation and calming down the customer while Kirishima calms down Bakugou who even if the customer wasn't initially angry at him, he got involved to defend his friend not that they needed defending but he thought this customer just wasn't worth their time. Both Sero and Kirishima overwork themselves a ton, but they do get the most praise from the manager.

- When a kid gets lost in the shop, Mina freaks out, she does no know how to deal with kids. Get this girl some help. Help arrives in the form of Denki but that is not the help she meant because Denki either treats them way younger than they are or way older and either way the kid gets offended and cries so he calls for help. In other words Kirishima. He is, so good with kids. He just has big brother vibes y'know? He helps calm the kid down and either lets them follow behind or leads them by the hand to the cash register where they make service announcements to call for the parent with ease.

- Sero is the one who actually gets the most done out of everyone and even covers tasks that were meant to be done in the others shifts. He's the most laid back about it all and generally just gets things done

• Shouto as a substitute teacher for kids - The kids ask him to sing Let It Go when they realise he has an ice quirk.

- Bless his heart, he doesn't know how to act around kids. They're all so tiny and small. He had no proper childhood he doesn't know what normal kids do. The main teacher says they're learning to recognise different numbers, so just let them fingerprint or use the number-shaped sponges.

- And again, with all the good intentions in his heart, he sees this child who is very proud of the '4' they drew but it's just a complete mess of splotches of horrible paint that someone spilt their drink on. Or was sick on. He can't tell. It's like dark brown, black, chartreuse, what he thinks is snot, a sickly mustard yellow, that might just be mustard, and he studies this piece trying to find where it is for a good full 20 seconds because he wants to praise this kid so he instead goes with a neutral and honest statement, he turns to the child and says "I don't see it," that doesn't mean it's good or bad, so he kinda freaks out when the kid starts crying.

- He calls Midoriya asking what he should do. Midoriya isn't too sure either despite being one of the best with kids.

"Just say you now see where it is?!" "That would be a lie, Midoriya." "U-Uhm okay so, err, help him make a new one?"

- Shouto has never finger painted before but he tries his best and helps the kid make a new one the child likes.

- To make it up to them for before, Shouto gives the kid money for the painting and he hangs it up in Endeavours office and says he got it an auction.

- God help this poor man if a kid hurts themselves by tripping over or getting a papercut, he has a full-on military-grade medkit at the ready trying to calm the kid down. He acts really calm and concise while acknowledging that they're hurting which actually comforts the kid because that way they know it's not okay right now and that they're not ver-reacting or should stop crying but also it'll be okay.

- But inside Shouto did not expect to be filled with that much panic.

• Deku as a bartender

- This boy studied up. He has the drink names down, knows all the ingredients, knows all the techniques, all the methods, colloquial names people might call the drinks, he's got it locked and loaded. But the one thing he didn't prepare for? Actual social interaction.

- People are loud and already drunk, they hiccup and slur their words and he can't understand any of it, the tv is louder than the orders and everything starts going to hell.

- Another bartender who mercifully took pity on him let him take a break in the backroom. After a breather, he goes back but the moment he's behind the bar and given the shakers, he realises he had read everything he needed to do, watched all the videos, but had never actually done it.

- He tries though, he tries with everything he knows and thankfully the man waiting is patient and smiling, aware it's his first time. But he gets nervous being waited on.

- Sometimes he forgets his own strength so he is constantly worried about accidentally breaking a glass or cabinet or surface. Also worried he'll forget an order. Worried he'll mess it up because it's not done like usual.

- He's worried.

- Just pure anxiety.

Top 5 Video Game Soundtracks

Ok. Let's try this *again*. I had a whole thing written up and I accidentally refreshed the page, so tumblr ate the entire thing, and I lost it.

Destiny 2 There's a reason D2 is one of my all time favorite games, and the music for it is one of those reasons. Destiny 2's sweeping orchestral soundtrack is full of songs that encapsulate that grand, epic nature of the world and conflict you find yourself in as the Guardian. From the mission tracks like 1AU/Forge Ahead , Valkyrie, and Guns Blazin which provide this cinematic backdrop as you fight for your victories, to the epic swelling of the raid bosses where the tension in their first phases is replaced with triumphant moments where the tide turns as seen in Riven of a Thousand Voices or Insurrection Prime (even the most hated boss in Destiny has a pretty baller theme with tons of brass in it as you get ready to put him in his grave one last time after fighting him multiple times throughout the raid). Locations such as the Dreaming City have tracks that manage to encapsulate the mystery and history behind each location. No matter my feelings and critiques on the gameplay or the story, the music in Destiny 2 is just an absolute gift of musical genius. Michael Salvatori (yes, that same Michael Salvatori from Halo) is one of my favorite composers for the work he's put into that series. Favorite track: Journey ft. Kronos Quartet. This is the song that plays after the deafening silence that comes from escaping the city during the initial Red War campaign, where you montage your way through an unforgiving wilderness, powerless, as the city fades into the distance behind you. You've been beaten, your home taken from you, but the music swells with hope as you follow a sign from the Traveler - and you know you'll return to reclaim your city. I highly recommend taking a peek at the mission, as you can't play it anymore, to see what I mean as to how the track absolutely enhances the experience.

Hades Supergiant games - the people behind Bastion and Transistor, two other games with amazing soundtracks - really did knock it out of the park with Hades. This game's soundtrack is a wonderful blend of classic acoustic instruments (Check it out - it's called a Bağlama) mixed with metal and electronica to create a theme that evokes not only the aesthetics of the region, but also give it a modern twist that meshes with the dark, haunting vibes of the underworld that you reside in. Each track flows so well from one into the next, mixing perfectly with each area or character you encounter. And the two musical characters you encounter - Orpheus and Eurydice - add in plenty of musical flair to the game themselves. The motifs present in the songs are called back frequently to make it a coherent, consistent soundtrack, and it remixes so incredibly well. Favorite Track: God of the Dead - the theme for the final boss of each run, this track is incredible. Not only does it reflect the theme of Zagreus in a different key, showing the link between Hades and his son, before delving into this heavy, frantic track that perfectly encapsulates having to fight

Payday 2 There are exactly two ways to play Payday 2. The first is stealth - you won't have much in the way of music as you silently slip by cops, cameras, and civilians to reach your score. The other is the way I play, where you suit up in the heaviest body armor you can get, grab two automatic shotguns, and go to town to some of the best soundtracks in the game. Payday 2 has a unique musical cue system with it's audio during loud heists, where it amps up the tracks in time with what the cops are doing. At first, before you've been detected, you have the Stealth track which is always low and very basic to not intrude. In low points, like when you first go loud and the first responders arrive on the scene, you're in a Control track. Then, as the police gear up, it switches to a higher temp Anticipation Track, and then when the police storm your position, the Assault track. So each "song" in Payday 2 is actually 4 songs in one, that the game blends seamlessly together in order to match the audio with the gameplay. It's an incredibly clever system that keeps you immersed in the tension of the heist even as Bain, your mastermind, calls out over comms with instructions. And it helps that almost all of the tracks are exceptional bangers in their own right, with amped up electronica with great percussion and bass lines alongside rebellious hard hitting metal and rock. But during those assault tracks, there's something satisfying about hearing the build, reloading your guns, then timing you leaving cover to unleash fury with the bass drop. There's a great playlist here with links to the different types of tracks if you want to take a peek yourself. Favorite Track: I Will Give You My All - one of the few tracks with built in vocals. This particular track feels like the exact kind of music I'd see in a movie, and with the build I run in game for Loud stuff at the moment which incentivizes me running face first at bulldozers and cloakers, giving it my all is *exactly* what I intend to do in that game.

Horizon Zero Dawn HZD's soundtrack is full of the same sort of sweeping orchestral stuff that made me love Destiny 2, with tracks that serve to accentuate the world around you. The only reason it's down here at 4 and not higher is because there's a somewhat lack of variety; as a singleplayer story game, most of the music you encounter tends to be in cutscenes, rather than during gameplay. That isn't a *bad* thing however, and over the hundreds, if not thousands of games I've played, reaching #4 on the list is no small feat. The actual orchestral bits pair so well with being able to cultivate this theme of a world full of grandeur, the kind of which you'd see in nature documentaries. The various tracks illicit this feeling of a long forgotten hope, which if you know anything about the plot, ties in perfectly. The music that *does* play outside of the incredible cutscenes add to the world's aesthetic so well, pairing the sort of instruments you'd find people playing in the civilizations you encounter with the environments you find them in. Even the battle music, when there is battle music, is a tense affair; the game incentivizes you to stalk your prey, as Aloy is not a frontline fighter: she's a hunter among predators, and the music matches that tone. Favorite Track: A tie between Aloy's Journey, which provides not only natural sounds mixed with the instruments of the Nora and the underpinning of techno that permeates the story (in addition to one of my favorite musical things where you have these grand sweeping vocals that aren't actually lyrics) and Your Hand of Sun And Jewels, which gives off this sort of air of walking through city streets in golden sunlight, where people dance just a block away and you can smell the fragrant spices of the local cuisine. It makes me yearn and if I listen to it on full blast I can forget that I'm stuck at home for a moment.

Pokemon Heart Gold & Soul Silver Pokemon OSTs hold a special place in my heart because as much as I loved games as a kid, getting started on things like Mappy for the NES (which, now that I write that, really shows how fuckin *old* I am), Pokemon was one of the first things that I basically turned into my personality as a child. Silver version especially was one of the ones that *truly* got me going, as in Blue version I always felt one step behind my brother but Silver was *my* game, my generation. I have extremely fond memories of that game, from the Lake of Rage to trying to beat a ghost gym with a Sentret and it taking four hours because normal types and ghost types are just... immune to each other. But when Soul Silver came out and remastered the soundtrack, it brought back this wave of nostalgia. The bit tunes I remember had been brought to life, in a way that was recognizably Pokemon. Hearing it again brought back the waves of wanting to journey and be a hero again that when the game came out, I was sorely missing. The music in the game is upbeat and chipper, befitting a near solarpunk world that I want to live in. Iconic tracks remain iconic but with a bit of cultural flair, showing that the Johto region hasn't lost touch with it's roots. While it isn't the almighty trumpeting of Gen 3, the nostalgic tracks that are already evocative of nostalgia brings a yearning back for a time when things were simpler and I could just play games. Also, the Rival theme is *rocking*. Favorite Track: Route 26 Theme. Route 26 is also known as Tohjo Falls, the place which connects Johto and Kanto together. And for me, this route represents having reached a triumph and the energy to explore what's next. It's a critique directly against the Hero's Journey's unfortunate end, that they can never go home - the hero here *can* go home, but they choose to set out again for new sights. It's full of the fact that when it plays, you're taking your steps into something new, something bold, and full of new challenges that await you. It is, by far, one of my favorite tracks and the orchestral version brings me to tears.

Alright, I finally read Reincarnation no Kaben

AFTER MONTHS (it’s probably been a month? My mind doesn’t keep track of the days) I FINALLY CAUGHT UP TO RNK. Ty to Okita anon for the recommendation (*￣3￣)╭💕💕💕 I absolutely loved it. 

After this I’ll start on the other recommendation you gave me. I kept a bit of a log of my reading journey under the read more tag. 

Major spoilers for literally everything in RNK up to ch 53 “Withdrawal”. 

Oh, and I’ll finish answering all my leftover asks and I SHOULD have a fic done by tomorrow. I was so ready to write and then I got up. Now I’m back to bed. 

I’m just gonna write this as a log since I read super super slow and I’m only on ch 7 at the start of writing this but I’m really liking it already. Though to be fair. I love everything okita anon recommends haha. I remember you saying you were simping over Kouu and I haven’t gotten to the part where he appears but I wanted to quickly google what he looked like to prepare myself and I see this:

I was actually kinda surprised by how many western figures were in the manga since I know there are only like 7? Around 7 western figures that pop up in any anime/manga but seeing people like Albert Fish was kinda surprising but I really liked it. Also, at the end of certain chapters they write little bio’s on them so you get to know more about them was such a nice touch.  I also love that the tradition of making males -> females still stays strong even outside the fate universe hehe.

Literally, the next chapter I see him. AHHHHHHHHH. Well maybe not him but his eyeballs. 

This guy lowkey reminds me of the MC’s brother but it’s 99% because he has the same long ponytail. I wouldn’t be surprised if the brother was apart of the the Greats. Honestly, Ein reminds me of those really hard headed girls that are actually really kind on the inside but aren’t good at expressing themselves (maybe because that’s pretty much her character). I also like that Ein doesn’t like males but she’s hiding behind this guy. At least, I’m..99% sure this is Ein. 

I FUCKING KNEW IT. AS SOON AS I SAW HE GOT A THEIF TALENT I COULD FEEL THE SOLO LEVELING VIBES IN ME. HE CAN STEAL TALENTS I FUCKING KNEW IT!!! I’m surprised that Neumann didn’t say anything and  Haito seems to be aware of it.  

Edit: Ah okay, I understand a bit now but it almost seems like Haito is the only one aware of Toya’s second talent.

Edit 2: Okay, as much as I love power hungry MC’s I’m really glad they didn’t make Toya into that. I am such a softie for sympathetic and kind MC’s like these even though it’s been done so many times. I’m really glad this didn’t feel like a rehash. I mean, some points some of the stuff Toya says it does but it’s fine, I don’t mind that. I actually gave a crap about him since I usually prefer the side characters (I UNDERSTAND ANON, I CARE ABOUT KOUU SO MUCH AHHHHH) but HAITO?? AHHHHH.

I like that Izo always has the same hat in every adaptation he’s in lol. Istg, cats are always op. Schrodinger seems so strong and the parallel universes are my absolute shit. Sometimes I think, in one universe I did this and in this universe I’m not. Would I rather stay in this universe or be in the one where I am actually productive. Usually I pick the productive universe and actually work but sometimes I’m a bit of a slacker haha. I think this is my approach to a lot of things in life. But I digress, I don’t wanna get too deep into my life. 

I can sorta sympathize with the sinners. At least the ripper guy to say the least. I love love love unhinged characters that just want to basically destroy the world or at least have fun. But then you find out- wait they are actually sympathetic oh no. That’s how I felt about Djoser in “im the great priest imhotep” (please...i beg...someone read this...I’m so starved). 

As much as character development and rooting for the hero is cool and all, I just want to simp for the crazy “let’s burn the world to the ground” kinda character. I’m also so glad Toya doesn’t automatically become evil and try and steal everyone’s talents because he does seem like a good person and I really don’t see him suddenly switching fields so when he saved (I don’t remember names I’m sorry), the undead solider it was really nice. Proves that he still has his humanity and isn’t strictly relying on the branch of sin. 

It makes sense that he wants to steal talents since he never had one (and it was kinda out of left field when he killed Vlad and we just never addressed that ever again haha) but to see him actually consider his actions and if he actually want’s to steal his teammates talents feels right to me. Poor guy doesn’t seem to have a lot of friends so this is the first time he’s ever seemed to have companionship, aside from Haito, so I really hope he doesn’t attempt to steal their talents. I think I’m thinking of the slime? That time I got reincarnated as a slime manga/anime. Where he’s the pokemon catcher of skills. I thought that was where it was going. 

But I do kinda like how selfish Haito and Toya’s talent stealing relationship is (I mean, later it develops but my first draft of writing this I wasn’t there yet). I’m not sure if selfish or like self-gratitude/pride is the right word but it’s kind of a breath of fresh air. Rather than Haito trying to contain or “help” Toya’s inferiority she’s actually encouraging it and using her own talent for her own...acknowledgement? Er, yeah let’s go with that.

This. This interaction. I love this. Like, genuinely love this. We need more of this. Two people from opposite sides finding some common ground and their fight to the death is less about morals or whose on whose side but for themselves. I love that. This is actually some wholesome stuff.

I KNEW IT! YOU CAN NEVER TRUST THESE KIND OF PEOPLE!! I’m going to slap the whiteboard on this but if I see any “goofy” character I’m immediately sus of them. 

As much as I hate that Hitler is getting drawn as a small child I really like this. I know the whole, oh I killed your friends but I’m letting you go because you express humanity but I’m gonna finish my death with a sympathetic line, can be annoying to people but idk I really liked this. 

Honestly this and the undead soldiers death hit me hard ngl. This manga might not have my favourite art style during some points compared to like main stream manga but it has some really beautiful scenes. 

BOOM CALLED IT, though it’s pretty obvious lol. 

THE PONY TAIL NEVER LIES AND HES DA VINCI IT MAKES SENSE NOW

He looks so cute lol. I like that Seiya has the talent of being talented in everything while Toya has the talent to steal other talents. Seiya can probably only cap his power by his own physical/mental abilities with Toya can pull a solo leveling and go further beyond. Thinking of it like jack of trades vs master of none type deals. Though, I might be thinking too hard on this. I like that this man is actually humble but I really wish there was a tiny bit more to him since we only get this one interaction/backstory but the manga isn’t completed yet. I really hope we get to know about Seiya more;; like how he became da vinci or etc. 

Everytime I see Neumann I look at that comic sans type and it kills me on the inside. But I love that her eyes are 01 just, mwah perfection. These little details that aren’t that big but it’s soooo nice. I also ahem, unhinged character heart be still. It’s really nice reading manga in bursts because you can see the art progression and damn does she look good.

ngl i’M HARD SIMPING FOR THIS MAN. It’s the pony tail, I have such a thing for guys with long hair (and this is why genshin broke me) but man the art really picked up here. 

I didn’t get into it but OKITA ANON I GET IT. KOUU??? AHHHH. WHY DID YOU HAVE TO DIE??? As much as his whole “war” was a bit questionable in the beginning and tbh I still don’t really get it I like that he knows he’s not the same as the other Greats but still tries to help the other “sinners” in a way only he knows. That’s why Seiya was so important;; I get that he wanted them to have a fun death and to be understood but idk, the whole war idea and having them kill each other (especially the Hitler fights because I understand the others since they reached some kind of acknowledgement) but nonetheless, what a great guy.

Nightingale gives me mad masaki vibes from chainsawman. I hate them and I can’t wait for you to fail, but the inner part of my is cheering for you because unhinged characters are my shit. I feel really bad for Neumann, I had suspicions she wasn’t actually like that since it’s sooo out of left field but I’m really glad the manga seems to know what it’s doing. I really wish we got more Kouu interactions with everyone tho. 

NOW THIS. THIS IS SOME WHOLESOME STUFF. I WANT THIS. I REALLY WANT SPIN-OFF OF REALLY SAD ANIME/MANGA/STORIES WHERE ALL THE DEAD PEOPLE HANG OUT. In conclusion, and I should probably re-read what the characters say and not go off on memory because I’m about to get really deep. I really like how they phrased why they wanted to stop the branch of sin. That there are people just like Toya and Haito who, if they never found the branch of sin, could still probably lead respectable and okay lives. That there was a “them” in another universe that didn’t go down that road and that they want to be in the same universe as “them”. I know this sounds really confusing if you haven’t read the manga but going back to what I said about the parallel universe stuff. 

There was a universe where Toya and Haito didn’t rely on the branch of sin, that even without their talents from becoming a returner, they could still live a happy life given their own personalities and attitudes. It was kinda moving since in the beginning, Toya wanted a talent so badly and now that he has one. He’s realizing that wait, I don’t need a past life talent in order to live. Honestly, I hard relate to that because I totally agree with him. If you have a talent you can probably live a very happy and comfortable life that other factors wouldn’t matter if you just have that incredible talent. Thinking of it as a painter or artist, if you had actual god-given talent you wouldn’t need to worry about other factors since people would naturally seek that talent. So you end up comparing yourself to others and setting that limit on yourself. 

But that’s okay, it’s completely natural and I’m not saying it’s horrible if you do this. Fuck, I do this all the time. I’m not saying the manga is changing my life but it’s kind of refreshing that it get’s talked about since other adaptations of this just make the character super OP. I understand wanting to have that incredible talent, fuck who doesn’t? but you don’t need it in order to live earnestly in the bigger picture sense. Not everything you do has to be productive and honestly, learning to be okay with having fun is nice. Just being okay with who you are right now, even if it isn’t perfect in your eyes, you still have time to build upon yourself and your own talents but doing it for yourself. 

But I probably missed the point and I’m going way to deep haha. But I really enjoyed reading this and thank you once again to okita anon for the recommendation^^ I always love everything you send me and I’ll start reading the next one. If anyone else has any recommendations let me know!

((Remember that brief post I made on Lark(?) getting sick? Yeah here's a whole chapter. But this time its angsty))

CW; for sickness, mentions of vomit, dry-heaving, minor panic attack description, spoilers for Episode 39-40. Theres some Oakson if you squint, I dunno if that counts at a trigger,,, but yeah

Henry couldn't remember the last time Lark was the twin to get sick. He had such an impenetrable immune system he thought he was incapable of the thing. But here he was, fixing Lark a bowl of soup while he laid on the couch under a fuzzy blanket.

"Here, Birdie. Don't eat it too fast, alright?" He brushed Lark's bangs back and pressed a kiss to his forehead. Sure, his boy was nearly fifteen, but no child is too old for a sweet forehead kiss.

That usual fire Lark had boiling in him was dessimated by his case of some virus, and instead of his usual extravagant response to Henry, he just nodded.

"When's Ma gonna be home?" He asked, pushing himself to sit up enough to eat comfortably. His eyes looked like a raccoons, deep dark circles around them, sunk and dull. His skin was pale and lifeless. He could pass as a vampire. And that's his the boys went, either they were perfectly healthy, or they nose dove into being couch bound for a week.

"Somewhere around seven, she's bringing dinner. But, I may have to leave here soon. I have a meeting for something. You think you'll be alright by yourself for a little bit?" Henry hated the thought of leaving his boy when he was so vulnerable. Anything could happen in two hours. Especially with how quickly Lark's health could plummet. Last time one of them got sick, Sparrow was fine Friday morning and by Sunday evening they were taking him to urgent care because he had fluid in his lungs.

"I'll be fine, Dad." Lark set his half eaten bowl of soul on the coffee table, snuggling right back down into his blankets. "Hey, could you go get me the plush on my bed? The- the Pichu one."

"Of course, Lark. I'll be right back." Henry stood, making sure Lark was cozy in his blankets and went to grab the stuffed animal. It was rare the twins had toys un-destroyed as kids, but that Pokemon bear Nick had gotten Lark as a birthday gift when they were six? That thing always stayed perfectly in tact.

He picked the old, well-loved toy up off the bed. He could see the stitching on its ear where Sparrow had accidentally ripped it when they were seven. Lark cried for hours, wouldn't talk to Sparrow for thirty whole minutes over it.

The young granola-crunching dad trotted back downstairs. Lark was laying limp on the couch, breathing short and shallow. He looked horrid. Henry's going to have to cancel his meeting, he knows that. He's not leaving Lark alone when he looks this bad. Henry should recheck his temperature.

He set the Pichu down in the gap between Lark and the back of the couch, placing his palm on his forehead. God,,the kid felt like fire.

Lark gagged suddenly, throwing the blankets off himself and grabbing the pot he kept on the floor next to him. The soup he'd just eaten came right back up, he sat there, hunched over, crying and dryheaving for a good five minutes. Henry rubbed circles in his back and tried to soothe him. But, Lark couldn't even keep water down anymore. Henry knew he was dehydrated, and he didn't know what to do anymore.

Lark let out a sob, leaning into his dad. Henry held his boy against him, not daring to give a gentleman sway like he usually would.

"It hurts... Everything hurts..." He whimpered. He sounded so small, which wasn't a way Lark Oak-Garcia should sound.

"I know, baby. I know." Henry reached for thermometer he'd been keeping on the coffee table. He pulled it out of the protective case.

Lark looked at him, his eyes looked so tired. He opened his mouth and let Henry put the device under his tongue. It took a minute, but the thing beeled and Henry checked.

106.7. Oh hell no. Oh heeeell no.

"Get some shoes on, Lark, we're going to the emergency room." He said quickly, pushing himself to his feet and going to grab his keys, phone, wallet, and own shoes.

"Dad, I'm fine, I-"

"You're temperature is one hundred and SIX! That is not fine! Get some shoes!" Henry felt his hands started to shake. No, not now. He felt that familiar crushing feeling of his chest caring in on itself. Not now. Stupid panic attack disorder.

"Dad, really, itll go down in the hour I'm-"

"Lark Oliver Oak-Garcia, do not argue with me on this please, we are going to the emergency room and thats final. Now put on your shoes!" He knew he snapped, but he was freaking out. He didn't know anything about his stuff. In the Realms, when someone was this sick you'd cast a healing spell and bada-bing bada-boom, hes fine! But this isn't the realms, and there isn't magic! He pressed trembling fingers to his temples, trying to ease himself out of the coming panic attack before he really got consumed in the anxieties. He needed to be Dad right now, not Henry.

He looked around the room, listing off things he could touch or hear or see. Just like Mercedes had taught him.

Deep breath in.... Deep breath out. Its good. Lark's good. Focus on getting him to the doctor.

Henry snatched his keys and phone off the table, grabbing his wallet from the counter in passing and shuffling to get on his Birkenstocks.

Lark was shuffling awkwardly to the door, holding his Pichu plush. He looked nauseous just standing, but both Henry and Lark knew there was nothing left in his system to come back up.

Henry helped him into the passenger seat and buckled his seat belt, leaning it back so he wasnt sitting straight up and making himself light-headed. Then, he got himself in the drivers seat and pulled out of the driveway, handing his phone to Lark.

"Call your brother." He said sternly, eyes focused on the road as he moved to the urgent care clinical as fast as possible. Of course Lark listened, and Sparrow came through the Bluetooth of the car.

"Hey, Dad. What's up? How's Lark doing?"

"Hi, Sparrow. Letting you know, Lark's fever is almost 107, so we're going to the emergency room. Don't know when I'll be home, you can stay with one of the boys, or stay at home. I don't care. Mom's gonna be home around seven."

"Uh- oh! Okay. Um... Okay. Thats- okay, Dad. Is he okay? Just a high fever?" Of course Sparrow immediately sounding absolutely terrified.

"Don't panic,,Lark's good. He's just... He's low on fluids, his fevers high. I'll send you plenty of updates, promise. But, I gotta let you go cause we're here and I need to get him in. I love you so much, Sparrow."

"I... I love you too, Dad. And Lark. I- okay. I'll probably stay at Terry's."

"That's fine, call me when you get there, okay?"

"Okay... Bye."

"Bye, Sparrow.

Henry paced the waiting room. Its not that they were doing anything major to Lark, just running some standard health checks and getting him settled in a room for the night. But, your pride and joy, your beautiful son whom you love more than life itself being in a hospital room without you? Terrifying. Fucking terrifying.

Darryl had arrived about five minutes ago, and was currently trying to get Henry to stand still.

"Darryl, Darryl, darling, you're wonderful but you really need to shut the fuck up. If I sit, I will stop the adrenalin rush and when I stop the adrenaline rush my thoughts start going-"

"Henry-"

"and that means my brain turns back on and when my brain turns back on, it means I'll probably have a panic attack and I really don't want to have one right now,"

"Henry!"

"at this moment, because for the love of god, Darryl, I need to know when my boy is okay and I can't know when my boy is okay if I have a panic attack because then I won't be able to-" Darryl grabbed hold of Henry's shoulders and stared him right in the eye.

"HENRY!" Thank god he finally got him to stop going down the rabbit hole, it took Henry long enough. He stared the other father in the eyes. His mind stopped for a moment. Just a moment. But it was a long enough moment.

Darryl knew the tears were coming before Henry ever showed signs of beginning to cry. He pulled him into a tight hug and just held him there, in strong arms.

"Its okay, Henry. He's fine. Just a high fever and some dehydration. He'll be fine." Darryl promised him.

And, Darryl was right. Lark was fine. Henry freaked out over nothing. Late that night, Lark was discharged again. After his fever went back down and they gave him fluids.

It was now well past midnight, and Henry was exhausted. He got his just as tired son in bed, tucking him in and making sure the pichu was tucked in Lark's arms. He gave yet another forehead kiss, turning off the lamp.

"Goodnight, kiddo. Hope you feel better in the morning."

And, Henry dragged himself back to his bedroom, where Mercedes laid already asleep. He changed into a pair of pajama pants and crawled in next to her. Like her sixth sense, she rolled over to use Henry as some kind of large teddy bear like she did everything night. It was so nice. He took a long, deep, satisfying breath and settled into his pillows. His eyes became heavy, and he fell asleep faster than he had in years.

1. What would be their favorite Disney (or other animated) movie?

I think Souma would be partial to underrated Disney movies like Treasure Planet and Atlantis.

3. What sort of cuddler are they?

He’s casual and natural about it. He’d just put his arm around his s/o’s shoulder or pull her in for a hug at any point in time. 

4. How do they say “I love you”?

Acts of service! When Souma loves a person, he’ll do their laundry and pack them lunch before work every day and make sure that the cupboards are always stocked with their favorite snacks. (Erina sometimes thinks, in passing, that he would make such a great househusband). 

16.What makes them worry?

Erina and Raiden worry him with their god tongue stuff sometimes. He wishes there was more he could do to help them when it’s bad. Especially when Raiden was little, he’d feel kind of stuck waiting on Hisako and the other Aratos (or sometimes Mana) to drop in with a solution. 

21. What is the best gift they’ve ever received?

For his thirtieth birthday, Erina bought him a subscription to one of those snack of the month clubs and he gets so excited whenever his box comes. (Erina, for her part, is amused at how much joy he gets out of simple things like that).

I think gyarados (just hear me out lol). He kind of comes off as useless or unimpressive like a magikarp at first glance, but then all of a sudden he comes out with these amazing dishes...so gyarados.

Either Aladdin or Jim Hawkins from Treasure Planet.

She’s the type to give random hugs after acting indifferent to her s/o all day (Erina has to keep them guessing).

Purple asters and tulips, as well as cherry blossoms, which she has loved since she was a child.

Mostly pants at home, but skirts out in public, especially at more formal events.

Erina would start out as an eevee, and probably end up an espeon.

I’m not a huge Frozen person, but I think she has some significant Elsa energy.

Eyes roll like stones

(Trigger warning, mention of bullying, harsh words towards a person with a disorder/disabilty. as well as swearing)

Aizawa's class had a substitute teacher that day, and they just gave the class free time so that allowed them to do as they pleased. Kirishima was sitting in his desk listening to Denki going on about memes and Pokemon. As Denki rambled on and showed Kirishima pictures, Kirishima's brain suddenly became numb and he froze in place seeming to be staring off into space which Denki noticed. Snapping his fingers to try and get Kirishima's attention but that's when he body turned rigid and he started convulsing soon falling out of his desk and onto the hard tile floor. Denki had no clue on what to do as he called for help. Hearing the blonde's frantic please the class turned and saw the seen, and with in seconds Mina was jumping over desks to get to kirishima and directing volunteering peers. "I need help moving the desk! Move anything of value out of the way now!" Mina quickly picked up Kirishima's backpack and turned him on his side as carefully as she could. The substitute teacher had no real clue on what to do but stuck around even with Mina getting the situation under control. When the seizure slowed to only soft jerks and jolts, Mina sighed "this one wasn't too bad thank god" she says it quietly inaudible from those around her. She got down to him and started to unbutton and loosen his uniform, taking his tie and doing her best to comfort Kirishima. "Um we should get him to the nurse right? call an ambulance?"  Suggested the teacher, then all eyes were back to Mina, who shakes her head. "Don't can an ambulance, this is normal for him. He has epilepsy, he didn't want anyone to know but I knew this would happen eventually." setting down Kirishima's backpack she checked for anything she could use. "Please just get recovery girl, though he just needs to go to his room to rest. I usually just stay with him though." Midoriya volunteers and hurries off to get her. Using her own back back to keep Kirishima's head up, Mina then starts to check Kirishima over. "u-um Ashido what are you doing now?" Asked Denki "Checking him for injuries, sometimes when he falls from a seizure he an seriously hurt himself." "a-ah okay then"

It had been a few minutes and Kirishima was coming too, groaning and eyes fluttering open although not fully it was something. "Come on Kiri time to wake up bud." She says patting his back and gently shaking him, whimpering and shaking a little while his eyes lazily stayed half lidded. Kirishima wasn't able to make coherent words very well and was totally out of it. "There ya go bud, shh you're in class." Mina's voice was calming to the whimpering one who had no idea what had happened. Just as Kirishima was regaining more and more of his senses recovery girl came in. In the end Kirishima was taken to her office to rest until he's conscious enough, then Mina took him to his dorm.

The end of the school day came and so the students were mainly in the common room. Bakugou had appeared finally with most of the Bakusquad, he had a dentist appointment, like always no cavities! He came into the common room seeing the Bakusquad, well he saw that Kirishima was missing..Where was his boyfriend? "Hey Blasty's back, so how was the dentist? win the first place for shiniest teeth?" Joke Kaminari "Fuck yeah I did, now where's kirishima?" the boys looked to Mina who sighed "Kirishima had a seizure-" w-wait what?!!" Barked Bakugou Mina stood up defensively raising her hand to signal him she wasn't done. "He will be alright, he's resting in his room, you guys don't know this but Kirishima is epileptic, he has to take medicine to control it or make his seizures less violent." Suddenly the elevator dinged and opened, there stood Kirishima with his hair down and in his loosely worn uniform. Seeing his friends he stumbles over obviously still under the affects, the group quickly gravitated towards Kirishima who was slightly pale and not exactly ready for the rush of the group yet. "when were you gonna tell us?" "do you remember anything?" "are you okay?" Bakugou even shook Kirishima which overwhelmed him, drawing out a small whimper. Kirishima got on the defensive, putting his hands up to cover his face ready to cry at all the questions and being over crowded. "Hey back off of him you guys, I know you mean well but you're scaring him." The group of boys quieted down and gave Kirishima space. "Kiri you sure you should be up and walking around?" Mina asked concernedly, Kirishima's guard was down and he answered. "I feel a little nauseous but I'm fine, just don't wanna be alone in my room." "Well why don't we just go and hang out in your room, we've never seen it any way." Suggested Sero which made Eijirou twiddle his fingers which Kaminari picked up on.

"What's wrong Kiri, why can't we see your room, its not like you're hiding a body in there right?" Jokes the electric blonde who made Eijirou blush and shake his head. "n-no there's no dead body, u-um well now that you know that I have epilepsy you might as well know why I don't let you see my room.." Sighed the red head the group was all ears, Mina already knew why seeing as she had to help Eijirou through his epilepsy. "My room is specially made for my epilepsy. I even have a special bed. Its kinda normal looking but it has a lever on the bottom and when you push it forwards it raised up two sets of rails on each side. The rails keep me from falling out of bed, they're metal and if I have a seizure in my sleep then you can hear lots of clanking and stuff...I also have a baby monitor just in case those that connects to one in Mina's room..She'll usually come and help me during the night. I'm also not allowed to lock my door." 

Suddenly a rough yet caring hand pats his shoulder "Don't know why the fuck you're so embarrassed about that shit, why the fu- Kiri?" Kirishima's face paled and went blank "oh god Bakugou catch him!" Ashido called out just as Kiri's eyes went back and his knees buckle, thankfully Bakugou caught Eijirou but still had to let him down to the floor.

Backing away from him as Eijirou's body shook heavily, thrashing on the hard wood floor. Seeing Kirishima like this frightened Bakugou a little, he didn't show it. The look on his face was more shock but he was panicking on the inside. "The fuck do we do Pinky!?!" Mina was already racing around to try and push her friend on his side again. "Just keep others from coming over here, don't get too close right now or you'll get hurt." The boys nod and still watch in worry as their friend convulses harshly. As time when on for what felt like hours it had only been minutes, Eijirou was foaming at the mouth with his eyes forced backwards though much to the group's hope. His epileptic fit slowed until his body went completely limp, the boys looked to Mina. "should we take him to his room now?" Asked Denki, Mina nods but before she can get Kirishima, Bakugou does it for her. Holding him bridal style. "I wouldn't hold him like that Bakugou, he might fall if he wakes up or seizes again." Warned the pink haired girl, grumbling Bakugou adjust his hold and shifted Kirishima onto his hip like how you hold a small child.

Mina pressed the elevator button and when the door opens they get in and pressed on the desired floor number. In Bakugou's arms Eijirou was out cold, but Bakugou could feel his temperature dropping which alarmed the fiery blond. "Oi Pinky why is red so damn cold?" "cold? Oh sometimes that happens, his body temperature will drop, gosh why can't this elevator go any faster?" Mina tapped her foot impatiently, Bakugou's inner softy started to rub the red head's back. When the elevator opened and they got on the floor, Sero opens Kirishima's door and is about to turn on the lights "Please don't turn on the lights Sero, the ceiling lights are too much for him, here I got them." Mina goes over to the bed and kneels down flipping a small switch. Soft fairy lights lit up the room a little more, it wasn't  bright but they were able to see with out the harsh beaming ceiling lights. "Yo blasty you can put him on the bed" Which is what he does, slowly laying the pale body down on the warm sheets. Feeling a sense of worry and warmth as he feels compelled to sit on the bed next to him. He couldn't help but brush his fingers along Eijirou's cheek with worried eyes. "Is he gonna be okay, you said he had a seizure earlier today.." The others could hear the concern in Bakugou's unnaturally soft voice "Is someone worried over Kiri?~" Teased Kaminari who snapped Bakugou's attention "fuck no!"

"you sure are giving him such soft eyes dude, also..we see how you two look at each other." Sero pointed out making Bakugou turn red and shaking his head "no fucking way, I do not like this red head loser!-" "Shhh you're gonna wake him up blasty, also the reason Kirishima didn't want anyone to know especially you is because. Kirishima used to be bullied about his epilepsy and it got back and killed his self esteem. He even admitted to me that he honestly thought no one would love him because of his seizures." With these words Bakugou thought about it, was Kirishima worried about Bakugou bullying him over his seizures? That hurt Bakugou quite a bit actually, he knew he could be cruel, impulsive, mean, loud and scary but under all that he was a big teddy bear. Bakugou's hand trailed down to his shoulder, rubbing small circles and giving Eijirou a dazed yet soft look. Kaminari fake checked and stood up "well I'm gonna go and hang out with Shinsou, let me know when he wakes up." Sero got up as well "Yeah I gotta go and finish some school work, see ya."

Now it was only the three of them, a small whine could be heard which came from Kirishima. Slowly starting to wake up, eye brows furrowing and a small grimace showing then tired crimson eyes fluttered open. "hm mnnng~?" "kiri hun come on time to wake up" Spoke Mina, when Eijirou's eyes focused and started looking around he looked confused again. "wh-what happened?" With a sigh Bakugou answered him this time "you had another seizure, red." Sitting up unsteadily and curling up with his knees to his chest he shrunk away from Bakugou. "hey Bakugou mind watching over Kirishima, I've gotta do somethings alright?" She wasn't really giving the ash blond much of a choice and was soon out of the room leaving Bakugou and Kirishima alone. Suddenly a groan could be heard, which brought his attention back to Eijirou after watching the alien girl leave. Holding his stomach with one hand and his head with the other while still shaking but not violently more like his body temperature was struggling to rise back up.

"r-Red, you okay?" Kirishima whimpered and shook his head "f-feel s-sick" Bakugou rarely every saw Kirishima stutter like this. "do you need help?"  Kirishima shook his head but only managed to stumble uneasily to his feet off the bet not having the best footing Bakugou quickly came around and caught the red head. "hold on before you fucking hurt yourself," Bakugou put his arm around Eijirou's waist holding onto him firmly and holding his arm over his shoulder. "now lets get you to the bathroom."  Now leading the disoriented boy to the shared bathroom which was empty much to Kirishima's pride.  Kirishima obviously felt sick to his stomach and they'd arrived just in time as he was now starting to gag. He got down to the toilet just as a round of sick came up, his body lurched forwards as he emptied his stomach.

It ended in Kirishima crying when he feels Bakugou lay a gentle hand on his back. Flinching away and curling up he sniffled "I-I'm s-s-sorry B-Bakugou, y-you don't h-have to help me." His voice quiet and hoarse with small coughs and hints of shame, he wouldn't dare look into the blond's eyes. "J-just laugh, c-call me names like a-all the others have n-now that you know I'm br-broken." His voice still shook as he shivered, his words broke Katsuki's heart that not many people knew he had. He hated to hear the other talk bad about himself it made him angry. Hands tightening into a fits with his classical 'tch' Bakugou spoke lowly.

"Where the fuck did you here that from huh?" "M-middle school kids, e-even adults..they kicked me, a-attacked, laughed, and called me names that i'm sure you'd agree with." That only angered Katsuki more but he took a deep breath and sighed continuing his questions. "What did they say to you?" "They called me Spazz, retard, broken brain, druggie, freaks,saying how the 'retard has to restart' or 'the druggie needs his drugs again' 'weak riot'..d-don't people know that words hurt j-just as much as kicks or punches..I-I d-don't wanna be weak." With out warning Bakugou grabbed Kirishima by the shoulders and pulled his into a hug, a warm loving hug with back rubs and gentle rocking back and forth with soft yet stern words. "don't listen to those pricks who tell you that shit because they're so fucking wrong Kirishima I swear. They're just jealous that you worked harder to get to be in a hero school. You are not fucking weak, you are not a druggie, a fucking retard you are none of that..you're a badass bitch! You're strong, you're an unbreakable wall those shits just don't fucking see it! Sure you have epilepsy but that doesn't change shit to me." This whole speech had Kirishima's face turning just as red as his head but these words finally broke Kirishima. "Kirishima Eijirou I fucking love you with all my damn heart, don't every say that shit about yourself again or I'm blast you to the moon and back." Blush flooding all the way up to his ears as more tears pours down like rain, Kirishima pushed his face into Bakugou's warm inviting chest before nodding. "I love you too Bakugou."

After cleaning up and rinsing out his mouth, Katsuki helped Eijirou back to bed. Realizing the other was still dressed in his school uniform, the blonde starts to go through Eijirou's clothes. "You need rest and you need to get out of your school clothes." Bakugou found some pajamas that he found kinda cute, it was a grey hoodie and long soft blue sweats with lil cartoon-ish sharks on them. "here put these on" So with that Kirishima quickly changed out of his school uniform. Kirishima did have plenty of bruises and scars along his body from his epileptic fits that day which didn't shock him, and Bakugou wasn't looking so there were no questions. Once dressed comfortably, Bakugou came over and ruffled the spiked crimson locks down to their flat yet soft and voluminous state. Falling into his face and a little down his neck, Eijirou brushed his bangs out of his face and went over to the bed. He grabbed the water bottle he had sitting on his nightstand, and then going through his drawers to find three containers of pills. He took he took one pill from each container which was three pills in total, swallowing them down with a gulp up water.

Turning over to the bed Eijirou is greeted with Bakugou sitting in his bed under the covers. "Come on, lets cuddle, you need to sleep." With open arms the fiery male was seeming to be even sweeter to the red head who nods and comes over climbing into bed. Finding the lever Kirishima grunts and pulled it towards him to the metal rails would raise around the bed. Now with the safe guards up, Eijirou allowed himself to lean back into Katsuki's strong chest. He allows the taller's arms to loosely wrap around him while Eijirou got comfortable in Katsuki's lager frame. Laying his head on his chest, he feels a soft peck on his head. "I love you Kirishima" "I-I love you too Bakugou."

My Review of To Heart

How did I get into this anime? I have been curious about this anime for a straight-up decade now and the randomizer decided to bless me with something not incest. Thank you Arceus!

Since she was young, Akari Kamigishi has been best friends with Hiroyuki Fujita. Because of kind acts he did for her as a child, Akari has stayed by Hiroyuki’s side. Now that they’re both in high school, something has changed in Akari and it feels more like she’s falling for her childhood friend. Will Akari find happiness with her best friend or will she end up friend-zoned?

And because this is a harem, there are quite a few girls hanging around Hiroyuki throughout the two seasons. Just to name a few, we have the brash friend, Shiho. Then there’s the tomboy type, Aoi. The very silent type, Serika! And then there’s the robotic maid, Multi. Yes, you read right. A robot! This is Japan after all! Oh yeah, there’s also the class rep, an actual American girl, and a quiet girl with supernatural powers.

Akari, girl, you need to step up your game if you’re up against all these chicks!

BETWEEN THE SUB AND THE DUB: Before I discuss all that, let’s go down the ugly story about To Heart for fans in the U.S. The first season (and only the first season) was dubbed by RightStuf (at least I’m certain about that). Everything else wound up undubbed and even unlicensed. To Heart was kind of left in the dust due to what happened when the first season was supposed to release in the U.S. A lot of damaged material was the culprit and this came during the time when animation was transitioning from animating using cells to going digital. So to sum that up, the anime debuted in Japan around 1999, Rightstuf licensed To Heart in 2004 with a release in 2005, and the actual release was delayed to 2007. And in back-in-those-days times, that’s pretty fucking long. I can see why they didn’t want to bother with this series after it took all that trouble to remaster a series many were calling only “OKAY”.

Now then, on with the good stuff! I went in thinking that this was a Geneon reject, but was blown out of my ass to hear voices from New York! Lisa Ortiz, Jessica Calvello, Veronica Taylor, Wayne Grayson, and my personal favorite (not who you’re thinking), Carol Jacobanis! Yeah, surprisingly I didn’t hear Ted Lewis here. But Jacobanis is my second favorite in the NYAV group. I am in nostalgia heaven! Yes folks, these were the same people to give life to many characters from Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Berserk, His and Her Circumstances, Bakuman, Gravitation…OH, gambled and lost! Well, you get my meaning! Thankfully this dub wasn’t as horrific as Gravitation (despite Hiroyuki’s voice actor is well-known for something from that particular anime). Here’s what you might recognize these folks from!

HAREM!

We’re watching a harem! But it’s more slice of life than anything romantic. There are a lot of love interests for Hiroyuki throughout the series. It’s just that it doesn’t develop as much as one might think (except for maybe Akari) in season one.

And it’s so easy to think that Hiroyuki is the object of every one of these ladies’ desire. Serika waits for him to come to the club room. Aoi finds him helpful, as does Tomoko and Lemmy. Multi got attached to Hiroyuki’s headpats. As for Akari, she’s got quite the teddy bear collection because of Hiroyuki. After watching all of season one where Hiroyuki is hanging with all of these ladies individually, I thought there would be a moment of jealousy from one or more of these girls. Much to my surprise, that was not the case. It didn’t go down any of those bad-end routes you’d see with things like Kanon, Clannad, or God-forbid, School Days!

But then season two happened…

Ooh boy! First of all, Hiroyuki ended up getting his first confession of love from the most unlikely person ever. Kotone wasn’t even a contender in the first season as she had other issues. In fact, didn’t she have feelings for Masashi in season one? But halfway in the season, she gets ballsy and confesses to Hiroyuki. He rejects her and thankfully it didn’t get ugly (except Akari heard it and got jealous). Lemmy, I also thought wasn’t in play, but here we are! She was apparently childhood friends with Hiroyuki and brought it up when confessing her feelings. That unfortunately came at a bad time as he’s in a quarrel with Akari so he dismisses her.

And then there’s Akari! She’s been able to put on a smile and kind of be a wall-flower whenever Hiroyuki is doing something with one of the other girls. And most of the season, we see him mostly with Aoi and Multi. Thankfully, Aoi never showed romantic interests in Hiroyuki. I much prefer Aoi x Kotone if you want to know the truth. But halfway into season two, jealousy came in like a drunkard in a bar. Akari was definitely pissed when she saw Kotone confess to Hiroyuki and would get jealous seeing Hiroyuki and Multi together so much.

Oh yeah, good old Multi! Yes Multi loves Hiroyuki. Now does Hiroyuki love Multi back? It’s complicated! Because of Multi, Hiroyuki ends up pursuing a career in robotics and as a result spends quite a bit of time with her (pissing Akari off in the process). But because Multi is kind of a malfunctioning robot, who the hell knows if she’ll even remember being with Hiroyuki.

Now are there other boys interested in any of these other girls? The only other boy that has any prominent screen time is Masashi. It’s just that after season one, he’s only seen every so often because he’s busy with soccer. But in season one, it almost felt like Kotone was admiring him from the distance. Don’t get excited because that was just a one-and-done sort of thing before Kotone set eyes on Hiroyuki. Actually, Masashi does reveal his fondness for Akari (at literally the worst possible time). But it seems like Masashi ends up with Shiho in the end. So…whatever!

Hiroyuki DOES end up with someone. Just go down to the end of season two to get that answer.

ENDING TO SEASON ONE: The last two episodes of this season consist around Shiho deciding that she wants to throw a Christmas party at an old hangout from her middle school days! But this isn’t the only nostalgic kick she feels. Shiho ends up remembering the first day she met Hiroyuki and after he took care of a wound she got, Shiho starts seeing Hiroyuki in a new light. Yeah, up until this point, Shiho and Hiroyuki’s relationship could be summed up by saying they both give each other shit every day. Then you have Akari, who is also feeling a little nostalgic with trying to see if Hiroyuki is able to remember things from their past. During the finale however, Akari does develop a cold and has to bail on the party planning.

When Shiho came to visit Akari, it kinda comes out that both girls do care for Hiroyuki. But because this isn’t one of those kinds of romance animes, it really doesn’t get ugly. It’s more of an “I acknowledge your feelings for the boy I like and good luck to you”. Shiho really didn’t do any confessing and we get a cute moment with Hiroyuki and Akari out in the snow.

Let’s see how Season Two holds up!

OMAKE: Nozomi Entertainment also released the six Omake specials that came with releases of the first season. Not dubbed! Just a couple of minute-long specials that range from cute to wildly absurd.

There were also Omake specials in season two that mostly consisted of all the girls fighting each other in almost a Street Fighter or Dragon Ball style.

REMEMBER MY MEMORIES: Five years after the first season aired, To Heart returns with a bit of a time-leap from where we left off last and some slightly improved(?) animation. And if you’re wondering why this season isn’t called “To Heart 2”, there is a series named that already. To Heart 2 is a spin-off of To Heart. It’s just that none of the characters from To Heart are in To Heart 2. ANYWAYS…

It has been a year or so from where we left off. Hiroyuki, Akari and the others are now in their senior year of high school and a lot has changed. Minor character, Kotone who mostly kept to herself in the first season, has found another role in hanging out with Aoi (the chick who’s into martial arts). Serika is still silent, but that blue hue to her hair is definitely not silent. What the hell is with this new animation? And finally, Multi apparently left a year ago and came back in the first episode of season two. Only now Multi has amnesia. A lot has changed since season one, especially when it comes to romance. Buckle up!

ENDING TO REMEMBER MY MEMORIES: Yeah, this season layed on the melodrama really thick compared to the previous season. All the ladies love Hiroyuki and at least half of them expressed those feelings to him. Akari had some conflicted feelings when it came to Hiroyuki. She loves him, but feels like he doesn’t return the feeling due to him hanging around a lot of other girls (especially Aoi and Multi).

Speaking of Multi, this girl has had such the rotunda of computer issues. My stroked-out Dell PC from 2005 had more working power than this girl! For starters, her memories are in danger of being wiped away at several points of the series. We even begin season two where Multi returns after over a year with full-blown amnesia. And since then, Multi had some sort of malfunction issue arise every other episode. This was showcased in the finale, where Multi gets so upset and runs away to the amusement park!

So, Hiroyuki and all of his friends come together to look for Multi. They thankfully found her at the amusement park (during closed hours) and broke into the main-frame to the Ferris wheel. And did I mention these people almost committed assault on police officers? Yeah, these kids are about to have a rap sheet the size of Texas by the end of the episode. Anyways, Hiroyuki, Akari, and Multi ride the ferris wheel and have a nice talk before Multi falls asleep for…

…Let’s say a long time…

Fast-forward to high school graduation! Hiroyuki and Akari seem to be doing a lot better. They’re both going to attend the same college and are pretty much on better terms than when Akari was having a jealousy, bitch-fit. At graduation, they both decided to give each other the Christmas gifts they never gave each other. Because Multi was having another malfunction, they never got to give the gifts. Hiroyuki got a hand-knit sweater. And Akari got a ring!

Hiroyuki wanted it and so he put a ring on it!

During the ED credits, we see the characters we’ve seen throughout these two seasons and what they ended up doing after high school. Lemmy is back in San Francisco. Aoi and Kotone are still doing the fighting matches. Rio is a primary school teacher. Serica is still into the occult. Tomoko is working for her father’s business. Masashi is becoming a big soccer star with Shiho working on journalism (and I think Shiho ends up romantically involved with Masashi).

And we close with Hiroyuki and Akari working with the HMX robots and surprise, surprise, Multi wakes up.

And before you ask, I did NOT watch To Heart 2. And I don’t intend to…at least not yet. I’m saving it for another day and putting it back on the randomizer list.

This anime was…just okay. Yeah, a lot of things were predictable, especially when it came to who the main male lead was going to end up with. Come on, we all know Akari was going to end up with Hiroyuki in the end. If this were the visual novel, I’m sure there were infinite numbers of routes Hiroyuki could take and there’d be a good end to all of the girls. But I’m mostly anime only here! In terms of recommendations, ehh…I feel like there were other better harems you could watch.

Only season one of To Heart got an official release in the U.S., but you might have to search around for any DVD copies as I’m pretty sure it’s currently out of print. Anything else from the series, you’ll have to do some heavy searching to watch all the way through.

1. Talk about your first love. There have been a lot of those, so let me talk about the first one I really remember. I was in eighth grade, at the time, and she wasn’t exactly a great person looking back but she was cool and confident and she liked me, and she called me her best friend, and probably the best school-related memory I’ve ever had was her tackle-hugging me from across a classroom. I didn’t even realize I liked girls until she’d pretty much left my life completely. Maybe I’m looking at it through rose-tinted glasses now, but I think that’s okay, sometimes.  2. What’s the most beautiful songs you’ve ever heard in your opinion? Most of my favorite songs are Owl City, especially the older stuff. It has a soft, dreamlike vibe to it that I find really pretty even when it’s depressing. 3. How’s your heart feeling right now? Pretty good, I think? 4. What kind of self care is your favorite to do? The fun stuff. Bath bombs, makeup, fancy shampoo. Retail therapy actually works pretty well for me, even if a lot of the time I don’t even buy anything. 5. What’s your skincare routine? Um... 15. Do you play an instrument? No. I was supposed to learn piano in seventh grade, but I couldn’t read the sheet music so they never let me play, and I tried to learn guitar multiple times but it never stuck for the same reason.

16. Do you do art? Using what (pencil, watercolor, etc)? I paint, though not as often as I’d like to! Using acrylics, usually, but watercolors sometimes.

Fall colors, string lights, Halloween and winter holidays. Ice and snow and skating, dressing up for no apparent reason. The trick to it all is finding new things every day.

36. Imagine your ideal life, the life you wish to make, what will that look like? A house big enough for a family. A degree of some kind hanging on the wall. A life where I’m making things because that’s what I love, and I can try new things just for fun, where I don’t have to worry about money so much. The chance to get married someday, maybe.

37. Do you wear makeup? If so what’s your favorite type of makeup or specific makeup product? Favorite store to buy makeup? I do! Unless someone else is doing it for me, I generally keep to lipstick and eyeshadow. I’ve never been especially picky about what brands I use, but I usually go to Nyx because it’s on my usual route when I go on shopping trips, and I’m kind of attached now. Plus, nowhere else I’ve been in person has as many bold colours.

38. Do you wear dresses? If so what’s your favorite dress you own? I like wearing dresses. My favorite that I still have is a longer black dress, and it’s in serious need of either repair of retirement, but I got it for $20 as a cosplay outfit last year and it served its purpose. I wear it around still, sometimes, because it’s generally an easy fix.

39. Ever been heartbroken? How do you deal with it? Yeah, a few times. I vent to my friends, usually, and then I eat ice cream and listen to gnash for a while and eventually I start to feel better.

42. Do you like MBTI? What’s your MBTI? Is that... Fuck, is that the one with the letters? I think I got ENFP last time, and when I was younger it was INFP.

43. Would you be a fairy, a mermaid, a vampire, a siren, a or an angel? I’ve had people tell me I have ‘fae vibes’ before, so let’s go with that and hope it’s not offensive.

44. What’s the best song a friend has ever introduced to you? I don’t remember enough of them to feel good about picking one. I basically only listen to music I’m recommended now.

45. Parlez-vous français? A little, by virtue of being Canadian and having driven through Quebec. Not enough to carry on a conversation.

46. Most beautiful place you’ve been to? Prince Edward Island, hands down. It’s gorgeous.

47. Where/when do you truly feel at home? When there’s a light breeze, and the perfect song is playing, and the people I love are there. When we’re laughing with each other.

48. Does smiling put you in a better mood? Try it right now, you’re smile is gorgeous! I don’t think it does, honestly? But it does tend to happen when I’m happy.

49. Favorite shoe you own? These ankle boots I got secondhand that have little metal stars on them. I’m gonna be so upset when they finally wear out and I need new ones.

50. Can you walk in stilettos? Do you like them? God, no, I’ve tried. Any heel that’s too sharp or pointy or tall is a major problem for me. It’s part of what makes finding shoes such a pain.

51. Do you feel loved? Not always, but yeah. When I remember, or when I ask, or when I’m reminded.

52. How do you express love to those you care about? I try to tell them, but I’m also the type to engage in constant teasing. I’m the friend that punches you in the arm as a show of affection.

53. Favorite term(s) of endearment? The more creative ones. The basics don’t do much for me, honestly, but it’s more about the person saying them anyway.

54. Most romantic thing someone’s ever done for you? Make me feel like I don’t have to try so hard to feel like myself.

55. When is the happiest you’ve ever been? Walking the downtown city streets in winter. It was cold, sure, but it was gorgeous and I finally felt independent for a while.

56. Are you happy right now? Yeah, I’d say so.

57. What makes you smile? Bad jokes, among other things.

58. Do you laugh a lot? Yeah. A lot more than I used to.

59. What’s your favorite kind of aesthetic? Punk/scenecore. They’ve really influenced my more recent style choices.

60. Do you want to marry for love or for some other reason (like money)? Love, definitely.

61. What would your dream wedding look like? Do you want to get married? With someone I love, and the other people I love there too. Somewhere beautiful. I think I do, someday, but it’s not something I’m so worried about.

62. Favorite flower? Roses. Blue Moon Hybrid Tea Roses, in particular, are especially pretty.

63. Favorite artist? I don’t really have one. I do enjoy looking at art, though.

65. How kind do you think you are? Is kindness important to you? I don’t know. People seem to think I’m kinder than I believe I am. It’s important to me, yeah, to try and help people and to do nice things.

66. Ever made a playlist for someone? A few times. They were never anything special, as far as I’m concerned.

67. Do you have anything you do to physically comfort you when your sad? Such as a favorite blanket? Or a relaxing bath? Long, warm baths and cuddling with my cat. Warm blankets and stories with happy endings.

68. Early bird or night owl? Night owl. I’m a night person.

69. Morning routine? Wake up, do nothing for a while, actually get out of bed and figure out breakfast. While that’s going on, try and figure out if anything important is happening today.

70. Night routine? Get comfortable, then write or daydream til I fall asleep.

71. What is the most lovely quality a person could have in your opinion? Self-confidence and a willingness to help others.

72. Do you cry often? Does crying help you get the emotions out? Do you feel better after? I tend to hold back my feelings til they all fall out. So I end up crying at least twice a month, usually. It helps, yeah.

73. Do you like hugs? From people I feel comfortable with.

74. When was the last time you kissed someone? On the lips? Never.

75. Are you small or tall? Small. I’m 5′0.

76. Do you like wholesome memes? Yes. They’re cute.

79. Have you ever lived in a different country than you currently live in? Nope. I’ve never lived outside this city, only been on trips.

80. Do you like plane flights? Airports? I’ve only flown once, and I was two, so I don’t remember it very well.

82. The beach or a forest? Sand or bugs? Depends on the day. Today, though, forest.

83. What time of day do you tend to be in the best mood? Evening, usually.

84. Do you push yourself to act together and in a good mood even when you aren’t? Yeah, when I’m stressed.

85. Favorite kind of tree? Either maple or pine. I’m Canadian, what can I say?

86. Do you care about the health of the Earth? Yes, but there’s only so much one person can do.

87. What did you like most about your childhood, if anything? Field trips. Adulthood is sorely lacking in field trips.

88. Do you read a lot? What’s your favorite book? I used to. These days I still read, but it’s mostly fanfiction. My favorite books, though, are Tamora Pierce’s Emelan series and the first two books of Kenneth Oppel’s Silverwing trilogy.

89. What are you most nostalgic for at the moment? Trick-or-treating.

90. What’s your favorite personality trait you have? I try to let the people I love know that I love them.

91. List at least ONE thing you love about your appearance. I have pretty great hair.

94. The dazzling lights of the city or the relaxing countryside? The city. The countryside’s nice, but the streetlights and the city skyline are what make me feel at home.

95. Ever changed the shoelaces on one of your shoes? For what reason? I actually don’t know how to tie laces, so no. I’ve never been able to pick it up. I might get someone sense to, if I could find cool enough laces.

97. Do you like doing little acts of kindness? Yeah. It feels good to make people happy, you know?

98. How’s your day/night going? Pretty good! I did just spend over an hour on this, but I finished it, so that’s an accomplishment of its own.
