Just watched 86 ep 12

Second Cour / Second Season babyyyyyyy get ready for me to cry again every week.

The trailer made it look like Lena and Annette have a cold relationship post-first cour, and Ernst sounds like a ruthless megalomaniac. Turns out not the case.

I mistook Grethe and Shiden for the same person in the trailer lol. Must be because of the crop cut, lipstick and the latter's low brightness scene in the trailer.

I like how it opens practically the same way as Ep1, but now Lena is ice cold, far less naive while manages to do her job far better and is more esteemed as a leader/handler. Shows that she has learned a lot from experiences.

The way Lena still keeps the spearhead's last 5 on the board... And finally put Rei in the box... And still keeping the box and salute to it every morning, and brings the Spearhead's photo and letter everywhere... And the cat finally has a name 😭😭

God they really be making this guy even more pathetic than he already is in the novel. That office is practically his photo album.

Anyway, is this the Queen's Knights please say this is Queen's Knights. (Idk the real name of the squadron tho)

Must say Shiden and Lena really work and regard each other very well. Total improvement from with Pleiades and with Shin and the spearhead members in the earlier days.

Shin keeps running to reach Rei desperately but not moving and no sound :''(( Rei admits he doesn't want Shin to forget him and asks him to live happily and recall his brother once in a while... 😭😭

This entire scene is gold lmao.

That's... That's a spoiler for me... I haven't reached this point in the novel.... Now it makes sense why she speaks like that. I wasn't totally buying into the whole "ten years old who speaks like she's older" thing but now it makes sense if she's a royalty.

So I guess this time it's more from the side of 86 (or now the Federal Republic of Giad)?

So far I like the anime's decision to go with chronological order instead of going back and forth like the novel. It's easier to digest, and doesn't change the original story. I’d find it difficult to pay attention to every date in every episode after all.
