RGS (Revamped God Swap) AU pt. idk
Okay I think I've finally settled on a heritage for Percy and pretty much most of the characters I've mentioned that aren't Thalia or Nico.
Percy - I've decided Percy is going to be the Son of Poseidon and Juno now before I get roasted hear me out lol.
Percy isn't Juno's child in a traditional sense but more like how Jason was Juno's champion but a bit more than that.
After Percy was born, Sally ended up praying for protection for him to basically any goddess that would listen as she sort of knew he'd lead a more tragic life than others and Juno ended up listening and embedded some of her essence in him, sort of like a blessing and Juno basically just adopted him (especially after Sally dies in this AU because I'm evil like that).
But similar to Jason in canon, Percy doesn't really meet Juno, but he does meet Hera which is a bit more prone to disliking him but doesn't like outright hate him. She's kinda just thinking "why embed my power in a son of POSEIDON?? What were you thinking Juno" but like by the end Hera definitely comes around.
He'd also be a legacy of Sol like in my original plans but he wouldn't really get any major insane abilities out of it, if he did maybe something to do with light but I'm not sure I could link light to his water, storm, and air (from Juno) related powers properly so I might not touch that...
Gabe Ugliano is still a thing. I say this because I feel like its a big part of his character because some big parts of his character is his low self esteem, his loyalty, his anger, and I feel like some of the bigger and even smaller parts about his character (possibly) stem from his circumstances and how he was raised, especially in TLT. So I'm opting to keep him in here.
Percy at the beginning would have twice the enemies. Not only is Hades after him, but Zeus is too (because of the Juno thing) so when Percy fights the minotaur even with Hades intentions to save Sally as a bargaining chip, Zeus intervenes and so Sally ends up dying against the Minotaur.
So Percy ends up with his only friend, Grover by his side. And in this timeline there's no Annabeth so while he's at camp and especially after his claiming he's alone. He still goes on the quest and doesn't save his mother but he does retrieve the helm and master bolt because it's what his mom would've wanted him to do- to help.
Percy does go back home (and he does kill Gabe Ugliano because he deserves way worse than being frozen as a statue). And from there he becomes a year round camper because he has nobody to go back to, he didn't really have any friends or family so he's all alone.
Eventually I'd say he does meet Paul through Rachel and finally deciding to go home after the labyrinth and a few mist trickery things later ends up going to Goode because of Rachel and meets Paul and Paul basically ends up adopting him at some point (and also Fredrick Chase after meeting Annabeth and then her dad).
Annabeth - Annabeth would be after thinking hard and long about it a Roman child of Apollo. She'd go a long time thinking that she just didn't have powers until she finally comes in contact with the Romans (yeah I read a Roman!Annabeth story and got this idea so yeah). I also don't think she'd run away in this timeline, especially because the baby was intentional (and also because she's a legacy of Athena.) Freddy would be a good parent in this timeline and take care of his daughter lol. So in this timeline she doesn't meet Thalia AND Luke but possibly one of them.
I think Freddy would be similar to Sally and just wanting to keep his daughter as long as possible, so he and her would make a lot of trips to camp half-blood when Annabeth was younger during the summers and weekends, sort of like trips for certain periods of time. Freddy being of demigod heritage himself wouldn't want Annabeth to be at camp half-blood, especially knowing that Chiron sends KIDS on quests (Fredrick might've been at CHB once, got sent on a quest when he was younger and he was the only one who survived and never went on one again and left it behind as soon as he turned 18) so his home would be equipped with Celestial Bronze weapons. Freddy sometimes would get too caught up in Annabeth's safety that Annabeth feels more so trapped and guarded from every little thing which would lead to Annabeth running away after an argument about a monster attack which would lead to Lupa finding her.
Freddy is eventually put in the loop about where Annabeth is: Camp Jupiter and despite everything, she becomes a child soldier anyways. But Annabeth being at CJ is the best thing ever. All of a sudden she has all these cool powers (which I want to go more in depth about in another post) and she's living her dream, she's always wanted to fight, always wanted a quest. But eventually she finds out it isn't as hyped as it's made out to be and decides to simply come back home because even though he handled it in a bad way, she finally understands why he kept her away from CHB and from fighting monsters.
Thalia - Thalia's backstory is pretty similar to canon. She's the daughter of Zeus, but the daughter of two different aspects, the chthonic earth Zeus (which was a version of Zeus in certain parts of Greece, and also plays a part in her fear of her air powers) and God of Storms and Lightning Zeus so she's way more dangerous. She comes from a pagan family and Beryl was a huge worshipper and legacy of Aphrodite.
Thalia runs away and meets Luke like in canon but doesn't meet Annabeth. They end up getting to camp but shit hits the fan when Luke is sent on a quest. Luke is excited, really excited he can finally prove his worth and get the campers to trust him but only Thalia comes back (with the apples) but no Luke, no other demigod comes back.
But Thalia is different now. Besides the scar etched on her face like a painful reminder somethings changed. She's much more volatile and dangerous to be around. She also doesn't seem to age much either, she doesn't really grow- not really. After she reaches 15 she sort of just stops, like she's stuck in time and nobody thinks about it- not really. Percy comes to camp and Thalia teaches him. She tutors him the best she can, along with trying to steer his way of thinking. She stays at camp until the end of summer, where at the end she tries to kill Percy (she's been trying to hold on as long as possible and convince him, she doesn't want to hurt Percy, not really but Kronos is offering her power and a world where kids don't have to go on quests ever again. And if Kronos has to coerce her into killing a kid so be it).
Luke - Luke, the son of Hades. Luke who's mother was driven insane when Hades offered her godhood, Luke's mother who couldn't handle the power of the underworld and is slowly withering away, so he ran away. Luke is similar to Nico (in TTC) when he finds out what he is though, he gets to have a purpose and life and he free from his mom, and Thalia is an added bonus he likes very much.
Luke is nearly 16 when he's offered his quest and readily accepts (I aged him down a bit to fit my insane story) but he dies- or he thinks so. He's swallowed by the Earth and next thing he knows he wakes up and everything's different.
Thalia is gone and there's this guy named Percy? And he comes back to camp and after finding out what happened suddenly everything's too much. The attention and expectations were easier because Thalia carried them with him. But now she's gone and suddenly everything's up to him. Percy tries to help and grows closer to him and Luke cant help himself, he reminds him too much of Thalia. But Thalia makes him an offer and Luke can't bring himself to refuse. Thalia was always Luke's everything and if he becomes the villain everyone at camp was expecting him to be then so be it, right?
Clarisse - Daughter of Nike (Legacy of Glaucus). Clarisse being raised in a militaristic home, being from a lineage which is basically all military soldiers and demigods, being pushed to be the best- to win. Clarisse had always known she was a demigod since like- forever and so ever since she could remember she's been molded, training, fighting even in the smallest of ways like withholding emotions and being trained in weaponry.
She's eventually found by Coach Hedge however and taken to CHB. She doesn't get claimed until after SOM where once she comes back with the fleece she's claimed by Nike and Glaucus (Glaucus would be the one who gave her the boat in this AU and the warriors are simply dead navy men.) Clarisse doesn't join the titan army even though she's tempted at times, because she knows Percy will lead CHB to victory.
Their relationship doesn't start as hostile but definitely slowly grows hostile overtime. Clarisse has been training her entire life for this life, but Percy gets most of the quests, he leads the quests and sometimes does stupid things that don't lead to victory. Clarisse's fatal flaw, hubris gets the better of her and eventually their conflict comes to a head and the camp becomes divided but eventually they talk and reconcile. She finds out they're more alike than they think, and that he's just a kid and she learns that she's just a kid too and she decides he'll bring this kid victory, that he'll rage and fight for him.
I've been writing this for like an hour but this is part one, not everyone's going to get a godly parent swap but I just wanted to go over some basic characters for this one so uh enjoy. Next post will prob be more god swap stuff, either other parentages or going into depth about these (five?) and their powers.

Little Black Box
The sea at Montauk looked almost turquoise glinting under the blinding blue sky. Annabeth Chase, twenty-six years old, wiggled her toes in the sand, frowning. Her boyfriend of ten years now, Percy Jackson, was in the water, his head of dark hair popping up occasionally from beneath the waves. He would wave at her, and she waved back, squinting.
She knew he wore his goofy grin even though she couldn’t see it from that far away. Her stomach churned.
Truth be told, she wasn’t sure how she had made it to twenty-six. She certainly wasn’t sure how Percy made it to twenty-six. Half-bloods didn’t often live into adulthood, but against all odds, the two of them had survived. Fourteen and a half years together, she realized, watching Percy disappear under the waves once more. It was more than some half-bloods got to live.
Even now, her eyes scanned the horizon and the beach around her for monsters, or anyone who acted suspiciously. She absentmindedly slipped her hand into her bag, pulling out a small black box, fiddling with it when the coast was clear.
Annabeth’s heart raced as she slid her thumb over the smooth, reflexive surface of the box. It was a gift, but gifts, she had long ago learned, always came with a price. She had held onto the box for a little over a month now, cracking it open every night to … ?
To what? To make sure the contents were still there? To check it didn’t explode? To see it existed at all?
“I can’t say I approve of that boy,” said a woman’s voice. Annabeth looked up, quickly shoving the box back deep into the recesses of her beaten up backpack where she had kept it the past month.
A statuesque figure with a strong jaw and a stern expression stood beside her, her white gown unsullied by sand. Her eyes were a startling gray.
“Mom, what are you doing here?” Annabeth demanded, her eyes flitting to the surface of the water. No Percy.
Athena sat down beside her daughter, looking over the horizon. “He won’t be coming up for a while.” She shook her head in distaste. “Sons of Poseidon,” she said, although Annabeth could hear the actual implication: Men.
“Besides,” Athena continued, shifting her focus, and Annabeth found herself trapped in her mother’s stormy gaze. “Isn’t it customary to ask the parents’ blessing before you propose?”
Annabeth stiffened. “I… I asked Ms. Jackson already. And dad knows. It’s his ring. Well, his dad’s.” She shrugged. “I didn’t think the gods would care.”
“It’s true we don’t often meddle in our children’s affairs,” Athena agreed. “Still, you two are… relatively well known for your mischief. I think Zeus fears your union more than anything.”
“Zeus doesn’t have anything to be afraid of,” Annabeth snorted. “I mean, I haven’t even asked yet.”
For a moment, neither mother nor daughter spoke, merely listened to the waves as they crashed against the beach. Above, a seagull cawed.
“May I?” Athena asked, extending her hand and breaking the silence.
Annabeth rummaged in her backpack, cursing to herself that she appeared so clumsy in front of her mother, but finally fished the box out and placed it in Athena’s palm.
Athena opened the box slowly, her eyes scanning the contents as if thinking how best to deconstruct it. “It’s beautiful,” she said, handing the box back to Annabeth.
Annabeth nodded in agreement. The ring was simple - plain, even - just a bronze band. Still, it glowed warmly in the sun. It reminded her of Riptide, the way it shone softly, nothing showy, but exuding a quiet pride. It suited him perfectly, like the Fates had made it to be his one day, and so she had asked her father for the ring, and he gladly obliged.
She exhaled.
“There is something on your mind,” Athena suggested.
Annabeth nodded. “It’s stupid,” she chuckled, closing the ring box but continuing to hold it in her palm. “I’ve faced hundreds of monsters. I’ve lived longer than most half-bloods have, and survived two great prophecies. I ran away when I was seven, but now I’m terrified to ask my boyfriend of the last decade, who I’ve known since I was twelve, to, well.” She cut herself off, taking a deep breath.
Athena regarded her quietly, as was her nature. “Do you think it is cowardice that you are afraid to ask?”
“I don’t know,” Annabeth admitted, staring at the horizon once more. The air was salty and warm. She blushed despite herself as memories of the first kiss she shared with Percy stirred in her mind. He always did smell like the sea.
“You are wise to be afraid,” Athena assured her. “I scorned the company of men, never having had affections for them, but you have no such disdains. Loyalty to loved ones has always been that one’s fatal flaw. If you intend to go through with your plan, it may well become yours, as well.”
“You think so?” Annabeth murmured. She stared down at the sand, her eyes stinging from staring at the bright sky too long. The sun beat down on the back of her neck.
“That being said, mortal lives are short. It would be unwise, too, not to live a good life.”
Annabeth balked, but Athena’s expression remained blank. Annabeth thought she could see the barest hint of a smile. “You’re the goddess of wisdom,” Annabeth said softly. “What do you think?”
Athena smiled wryly. “I do not meddle in my children’s personal affairs. I trust them to act wisely and represent me well. But you should make your decision quickly. It seems your… friend has had enough of the ocean.”
True to her word, Percy came stumbling out of the ocean, his hair slick with saltwater, brown skin stark against the blue water and pale sand. Annabeth swore she could see a dolphin waving a flipper in goodbye.
When she turned around, Athena was gone.
“Hey,” Percy swept her up, already having dried off. “Was that Athena just now?”
“I - yeah,” Annabeth admitted.
Instantly, Percy’s brow wrinkled in concern. His green eyes scanned the beach for signs of trouble. “Did something happen?” Annabeth noticed he had already pulled a ballpoint pen from the pocket of his swim trunks.
“No, nothing prophecy related!” she assured him. He seemed to relax, only a little.
“Was it about you? Are you okay?” he asked, running his hand through his black hair. “Gods, is it someone from camp? Or -” His eye caught the box in Annabeth’s hand, her fingers still curled around it. “What is that?” he asked, frowning. “Is it from the gods? Did your mom give it to you? Are you sure you’re okay? Because if something is happening -”
You should make your decision quickly, Athena’s voice echoed in Annabeth’s head. She thought of the first time she saw Percy, almost dead in a cot at camp. The times they went to the library together, Percy goofing off while she explained the architecture. All their trips to Mount Olympus, and the beach, and the quests, and Tartarus, and a thousand other little moments: Percy’s face and the way his smile slid just slightly wider when he saw her, his stupid concentrating expression when he struggled to look at her blueprints, his voice when she almost lost herself in the Underworld.
Her fingers tightened around the box.
“Annabeth?”
“Shut up, Seaweed Brain, and marry me,” Annabeth murmured, shoving the box into his hand.
For a moment, Percy gave her a stunned look. He’s silent for once, Annabeth thought to herself.
Then his face split into the biggest smile she had ever seen, and he practically lifted her. Annabeth screamed.
“Okay,” he whispered.

What about the Falcs in the PJ universe 👀
OOO okay so we’ve got george, tater, snowy, marty, thirdy, and guy!
let’s start with tater because we definitely know the most about him. we know he’s very attached to his friends, he’s very outgoing and friendly, but also if he hates people he HATES them and he also really likes blueberries. the blueberries are important it means i’m ruling him out as a child of dionysus they’re not a vine plant. also he does stupid shit sometimes like trying to teach bitty how to carry him. in ice skates. both of them are in ice skates. omg. okay anyway sorry moving on the mom friend in me popped out. and also he totally will plunge into a fray to avenge a teammate, or just to punch someone he really doesn’t like, et cetera.
so tater’s super outgoing, enthusiastic, humorous, but ALSO he’s just very passionate and will go down swinging if he has to (or if he wants to). so that tells me he is *not* the child of an easygoing deity.
i think nemesis could be an interesting choice-- it depends on whether you view her as a goddess of kind of just retribution, or a goddess of revenge in all its forms. because tater totally avenges people even if they’re actually doing fine (like when parse rushed snowy and tater jumped him). he kinda reminds me of percy in his loyalty to other people? but i think he could also be a child of ares? idk there are options
oKAY moving on to george. george is pretty calm and collected even when shit is going down, she likes to run in the park, she mostly takes things in stride, but she’s also in a position of authority-- even if she doesn’t wield that authority with an iron fist. so like. not zeus lol. part of me wants to say she’d have artemis’ blessing or smth but idk how artemis would feel about george working in the nhl. regardless, george is not easily shook. (except for that one memorable instance when jack told her he was dating a teammate.) so that eliminates some people, i think-- poseidon, ares, aphrodite, tyche, off the top of my head. hmm she’s another one who could be in a few different places.
athena would make sense-- she wears a position of command pretty well, and she deals with The Kiss in a pretty analytical way
snowy, marty, thirdy, and guy under the cut!
OKAY SNOWY TIME. emo king. he’s the goalie which means he’s a little weird. eyeliner. flexible and yet goes to see the trainer a lot. swears constantly. last line of defense on the ice. he seems a little more prickly than a lot of the falcs, but like in a loving way? (all the times he says ‘fuck you’ come to mind, especially since he has like. 3.5 lines) also has an incredible ability to look bored at any time, which i think is partially due to the eyeliner. partially. oh and who can forget his absolutely epic helmet with the wings on it that shit’s incredible.
snowy, more than the others, seems ‘icy’ to me (possibly because of his last name, nominative determinism anyone?? is that what it’s called the name is so long). like he’s a little inscrutable, a little hostile, but he’s not actually like. mean. so more like... the outside is ice. also he doesn’t talk a ton (especially compared to tater) so i get the sense that snowy himself is a little bit closed off. him being the goalie means that he doesn’t have lineys the way other players do. also his name is dustin that’s unrelated i just remembered
hmm i think there’s a lot of ways to go with snowy? but just to be unusual i’m going to suggest hades, bc a) the aesthetic and b) snowy’s ‘emo phase’ exterior and c) i like the idea of the goalie position being kind of reminiscent of hades. the underworld is *the last place*, the ultimate place in a way. people don’t return from there. heroes do and that’s why there are stories about them. and there’s a sense of ultimate-ness about a puck getting to the goalie? does this make any sense lol
ALRIGHT MOVING ON TO MARTY. so many dad vibes he even tries to dad the 25-year-old millionaire rookie who is possibly the only person on the falcs who can out-dad him. and is not much younger than him LMAO. he’s very tied to his family and i think it would make sense for him to have hera’s blessing, and i’m literally sitting here thinking about which gods i get the most dad vibes from in case y’all are wondering how scientific this process is
i think hebe would be funny because she’s the goddess of youth and marty’s entire career is basically about youth? i know we associate that with modeling and acting and stuff but like he is IMMEDIATELY introduced by tater asking when he’s retiring and mentions his hip giving out at some point. also he seems to call everyone ‘kiddo’. jack. bitty. thirdy?? guy?? george????? the possibilities are endless. marty is actually blessing them, every time he calls someone ‘kiddo’ he delays the onset of joint pain for at least 3 days. not much but the hockey players will take it
THIRDY TIME. he cannot make balloon animals. he also has kids. or at least one kid. i think we can eliminate athena (crafts) and apollo who i’m just kind of assuming has some hand in visual art as well because he seems to have a hand in everything. yes i’m basing this solely off of the balloon animals lmao. he’s a leader on the team, like marty, and in the whole retirement conversation he’s the one who brings up the idea of writing poetry and doing a victory tour. so actually let’s bring apollo back LMAO that seems like a very..... VERY apollo thing to do even if he can’t make balloon animals. maybe that’s more athena’s thing lmao. i’m going with apollo
and finally............ guy.
guy is like..... well he’s an enforcer, a strong and silent type, doesn’t smile a lot. enough so that it is NOTICEABLE when he smiles at people. he has a beard. this all makes me think of hephaestus ngl but he is a pro hockey player and an extremely minor character so we barely know ANYTHING about him??? nonetheless. i’m thinking hephaestus

for that question meme ( cuz i couldn't get it to load on mobile earlier ri p ) i wanna know ur take on percy's thoughts abt luke !!
q’s about the babs series || accepting
warning. spoilers below.only read if you don’t want the major spoilers rip
to start off, I think Luke deserved a whole lot more then he got. he has a pretty messed up backstory and I get that this doesn’t excuse any behavior ( which ??? canons a mess I’ll get into that ) but he? does redeem himself in the end and had tried multiple times to get out of the hole he dug. I think a large portion of why he did what he did and why he got stuck doing it is his own fallbacks. he asks someone for help but doesn’t fully reach out for it. he believes himself to be undeserving I guess? of people and makes himself out to be something he’s not, a projection, to keep people away.
in his defense he did face a lot of problems and people are shit and Percy did learn all this through canon so he is by no means unaware of Luke’s history. more under the cut.
Luke did not grow up in the ideal household. for starters, his mother. way back in a galaxy far far away following the storyline of Nico and Bianca, Hades cursed the oracle. but !!! May Castellan believed she could finally fix this whole thing even after Hermes warned her that it’s not going to work. lo and behold it doesn’t and May goes mad instead. so Luke had to grow up alone in a house with a mother who had gone mad when the oracles curse backfired. any kid would have been terrified and Luke is not some exception. I mean? his mom would go into random fits and start saying stuff about the future what was he to think? so he runs away. Percy learns all this through Iris message in bits and pieces he himself has to put together.
following that line, Luke is now on the run and eventually finds Thalia ( daughter of Zeus ) and later Annabeth ( daughter of Athena ) and the three live on the run fighting monsters for years. this is not some joke Luke had to grow up very quick as the eldest and learn to survive. Percy learns all this through, again, Iris message but also through visiting May Castellan’s house with Nico to retrace Luke’s steps before the whole curse of Achilles thing. Percy experiences first hand what Luke faced for years of his life. While Percy felt sad for May, he also readily acknowledges the strain this put on Luke. it really does effect how he sees him.
so onto Percy’s own experiences with Luke. first and utterly foremost, Luke was the first one to readily accept Percy at camp. it’s important here to realize that like ??? Percy didn’t have any people to look up to growing up outside his mom. the teachers at his schools only saw his transcripts ( which all point to him being a delinquent who doesn’t try when thats not who he is ) and at home he was canonically abused by Gabe. Percy didn’t have anyone. he didn’t have friends. again, his mom is important to him but? she’s literally all he had. then here comes this popular guy who takes time out of his day and treats Percy like an actual human being. Percy is not used to people treating him like this, its confusing but it makes him light up. like Luke? Percy honestly thought he believed in him. god I could talk about this for days because it’s so so important but I’ll stop here. this is why Luke’s betrayal really hurt him. it was more then some guy trying to kill him, this was his new role model and someone he looked so up to now out for his blood. could you ??? really blame him for being broke up about it.
following this Percy doesn’t know what to think anymore because Luke’s all of a sudden turned into this monster trying to kill him and destroy camp and Percy doesn’t get it, he doesn’t understand and it’s horrible. then all the stuff with the fleece happens and Thalia comes back and Percy thinks like, what if this was all some ploy? he’s just some replacement again, someone to be used. Luke, Thalia, and Annabeth had been a group — Gover had been theirs first — and it is very clear the plan was to trick CHB into bringing Thalia back. Annabeth and co. are now all happy to see each other again and they all keep worrying about Luke. It becomes very, very clear that Luke isn’t his, Luke isn’t someone he should worry about. Luke is their’s and Percy’s left aside. he’s bitter. so so bitter because Luke’s gone and Thalia’s back and Percy’s now lost even Annabeth because of it.
so shit happens, Luke holds the sky and gives it to Annabeth who gives it to Artemis who gives it to Percy. the fight and Percy thinks he killed Luke. like? Annabeth kept asking over and over and trying to save him and Percy had to be the one to tell her no. that hurts. he has to be the one to say “you can’t do that, it’s not an option” and by hurting Annabeth it makes the whole thing worse. he feels like shit all around. then come the labyrinth? and the stuff after? learning that Luke had asked Annabeth for help and learning that he wasn’t dead and the five thousand other things? brings it all back up. what is he to do? and now Kronos is walking around wearing Luke’s smile and Percy’s terrified.
well, with the help of Nico, what he does is follow in Luke’s footsteps. he learns about Luke’s past and learns about the hell Luke walked through and does it himself. Percy gets his mom’s blessing just as Luke did and he dives into the Styx the same as Luke did. they are two sides of the same coin and Percy is forever chasing behind. there are so many times throughout canon where Luke tells Percy to join him and honestly? I think Percy had all the incentive to. the only real thing holding him back was the fact Luke broke his trust and betrayed his friends. remember, Percy’s fatal flaw is personal loyalty. the fact that Luke did what he did? Percy can’t really comprehend it. so now both bear the curse of Achilles and Percy has to face the idea he’s probably going to die and in doing so he has to kill Luke to.
only, he doesn’t. and Luke saves the world and it’s Percy who gives him the chance and its Annabeth blade that does so. Percy’s reeling because look at all of this. Luke’s dead and Percy is the one hailed the Savior of Olympus. sure, he did his part, but in the end Luke was the hero who destroyed Kronos and Percy thinks of the tears on Annabeth’s face and the pain in his own heart as he makes it incredibly clear that Luke is a hero. Luke is not a villain. he straight up tells Hermes that thing’s could have been different, it didn’t matter what Hermes thought he was doing.
and I guess, in the end, Percy does forgive him. Percy does wish him the best in any future lives and he sincerely hopes Luke gets the chance this life didn’t grant him.
