I appreciate eriks. Just like, generally. I love how scruffy he is lol.

I do wonder if he’d let his hair grow out like that if he wasn’t in hiding??? He’s had the same haircut since he was a kid though so idk. He’s very attached to his whole look, it seems.

When and how did he replace his prosthetic? What was that like?

I wonder how vash looks at humanity specifically . Is it really something familial? Or is that changing as we progress? I do see how he could be operating from that angle.

My other real question is just how old is he, like, mentally? He really does seem to have the mindset of somebody in his 20s. Knives too? Maybe that’s a thing with them, but i’ll hold off on saying anything conclusive until later. Maybe i’m too quick to say they’re both immature.

I’m sorry it genuinely makes me happy to see characters swear like real people. Wolfwood is so much more fun here.

-meryl/vash mind meld confirmed oh god

-wolfwood being so tempted to shoot vash and just… doesn’t. he can’t. but oh like tox alvin/milia, i think this is a ship thing for me??? aiming his gun at him, and then fighting back to back minutes later

-milly/vash perceptions!!! there’s just something about their friendship that milly can see into him that really gets me, ngl??? like she can’t properly read him, and i’m not sure vash has ever quite made sense to her but… she understands him a little better now

-i really like meryl and wolfwood talking but not talking about vash’s inhumaness. how wolfwood advises her to stay away but also… doesn’t force her. vash and wolfwood do split from meryl/milly anyway, but that’s at the end of the volume, not the beginning.

-knives knives knives. learning that he’s dying, that his power isn’t unlimited, his hair turns black too… ugh, i love that knives feels more active in the manga, as much as i love his laziness in the 98 anime. and he has bill conrad to help him. but also… wolfwood attempting to assassinate knives before knives saying babysit my brother, guide him to me, keep him safe from harm. i do like long haired knives, his hair is so wavy and curly, i want to brush his hair, but his short haircut is also pretty iconic too.

-i think it’s so interesting to have wolfwood often wander off by himself. usually to eat or drink, but the way he talks about sharing curry with meryl or enjoying udon alone before news of vash catches his attention, it’s just… idk, it’s something. there’s something about it that i can’t put into words.

-vash and moon imagery is so pretty. he’s always so moe to me (everyone in the ot4 are tbh), but my heart can’t help but squeeze a little when vash seems so sincere and cute!!! him greeting wolfwood with a smile as he sits on the roof of a building… he’s precious!

-the eye of michael finally get mentioned!! crosses for everyone!!! razlo and livio make an appearance!!! (well just livio, but!!!) chapel too…

-elendira conversations with legato… hm. both want to be knives’ most strongest soldier, but elendira seems more clear eyed than legato’s fanaticism, but at least legato/vash alive and well, with the coins just being one of his games.

-bb knives, vash and rem flashback was adorbs tho. bb knives really was once so cute!!

-vash’s body unfurling to protect him from a bullet… he terrifies humanity enough to call him a demon but god i wish there was a third anime so bad so i could see it animated. i think he would have let the bullet get his eye, but his body… chose to defend him.

you think it’s too much to ask for a third anime? i love 98, for using the themes and creating its own ending, i adore tristamp for reimagining and remixing things, but a more accurate third anime… i want that so bad!!!
