an au where killhead goes even more wrong? 👀 (also sorry if i already sent one, i can't for the life of me remember😭)

killahead was never supposed to get as far as it did. (again, not what makes this an au.) but let's say—the order can feel something is…worse. more fighters on each side? merlinian mechanations? i've always liked the thought that skrael had a bad feeling about this that he/the other two simply ignored, so: he doesn't do that, this time. they stay close.

this means the order is a much more cohesive force moving through the battle. three of the most powerful magic-users in the world, united in a single purpose? fuck outta here. of course this means everyone at killahead now unambiguously knows the order exist, which. perhaps draws them a bit out of their seclusion from the world? maybe not to be household names, but not…fairytales. hm.

bellroc still gets blinded, bc even in an au they are impulsive and headstrong and rush off without thinking. but because the order are sticking together: vendetta doesn't wait. skrael kills deya, without hesitation, mainly because nari happened to be a few feet further away.

a good chunk of gumm gumms still get sucked into the darklands. a good chunk of the "good guys" do, too. the dwozans' retreat is disorganized. without deya's leadership, under vendel, the "good" trolls turn inward, even more isolationist; they never cross the atlantic. later: nobody believes the amulet has chosen a human. even blinky thinks it must be lost. (meaning…is strickler the one who introduces jim to trollhunting, here…?! 👀)

with no major troll presence in arcadia, douxie appears much earlier and much more explicitly as A Magic User. probably still an important ally for jim, and sympathetic, sure. but not one i think jim would accept easily, especially if strickler is his main trollhunter point of contact! seeing their disagreements would really complicate jim's willingness to "trust in merlin tm." meaning this au goes really off the rails somewhere right around season three. but that, plus everything that would happen after (e.g. in this au's version of wizards), is a whole nother post. 😂

…unless "even more wrong" means "bellroc dies," though, in which case, uh. the au is just. crops that never grow again, and a winter that never ends, lol.
