being in a relationship with a gob.

gob didn't think that you were interested in him at first. you wouldn't be the first smoothskin to try and butter him up and get something from him. it was pathetic how he always seemed to fall for any semi-decent person's honeyed words. you'd think he'd stop falling for it decades ago, but that part of him that he tried to keep buried deep down inside couldn't help but long for that so-called special person.

it was far too easy for him to grow attached to you. someone who didn't treat him like a monster for merely existing. he began to idolize you in a way. you were different from most smoothskins he had the unfortunate pleasure of meeting. you accepted him, not tolerated. he could see it in the way you talked to him. hell, you even touched him— a damn ghoul, like he wasn't a monster without flinching.

for some reason, you kept showing up to this dingy bar with a smile. he entertained the thought that maybe you were actually coming just for him. you weren't dumb, that he was sure of. there were better places that didn't overcharge for that piss moriarty called beer. ones that didn't have ghouls whose appearance disgusted customers. ones that didn't have him. a ghoul, latching onto scraps of kindness.

slowly, he grew used to your presence. he began to crave it, even. the soft words shared between the two of you, the fleeting touch of your hands, ones that didn't bring him pain. it got to a point where he couldn't ignore the signs right in front of him. you wanted him. you honestly wanted him, ruined flesh and all.

the way you always managed to be in his orbit made him sweat. the parts that still could, at least. he wasn't used to someone wanting to be around him unless they wanted to mock him or assault him. he couldn't help but second-guess himself, waiting for the other shoe to drop—for this, your attraction to him, the relationship you claimed you wanted with him, to be some sick joke to humiliate him.

he waited, and waited… and nothing changed. you didn't treat him differently. it felt like a dream half the time. seeing your face in the bar was a reprieve from all the other customers. the casual touch of your hands as he fills your glass. the twinkle in your eye as you stared up at him. he could feel it. the affection that you hold for him.

he grew more confident with you, practically preening from your attention. it was evident in his behavior. he began to say things he never had the gall to say, not to a smoothskin. the words rolled off his tongue a bit smoother, not so clumsy as they did when your relationship was new. the touches shared between you two came easily, more frequently. he didn't startle or flinch away at the feeling of your touch against him anymore.

he didn't feel like a secret or some weird fetish that you'd indulge in and throw away once you had your fill. it feels right having you by his side. maybe you were the piece he was missing after all.

A little break in my Stardew content - I've been watching the Fallout show and I'm LOVING It. It makes me want to dump yet another 300 hours into one of the games. Instead I roughly sketched Gob - the first ghoul I ever encountered in the games.

Ya'll remember Gob? Well, with this sketch of Gob, the floodgates opened. I discovered I have a love for poorly sketching ghouls?? It's so fun, I don't know why!!

And of course I drew Hancock, who is indeed my favorite ghoul character. Though there are many good ones, his story is interesting, his one liners are amazing and he was my longest companion in all the games.

Though I never romanced him, I actually wrote a fanfic about Hancock falling in love with the Sole Survivor. Not only it is the most Tina Belcher thing I've ever written, it's also the only reader-insert, as well as the only thing I've ever written in second person POV. I had a lot of fun with it! THERE ISN'T ENOUGH EROTICIZATION OF RAD-X AND RADAWAY USE BY GHOUL FUCKERS!

There's so much lost potential there, in my opinion. Can you imagine gifting Rad-X/Away being the equivalent of giving someone lingerie, or a sex toy? Taking a Rad-X from across the room while your partner watches to show them you're turned on in a low-key way? Your partner frenching you a Rad-X? Amazing sex followed by lots of tender aftercare which includes your partner taking care of you while you're basically immobilized as you're given RadAway?

We're missing out, folks!

Or am i just weird??? Because I literally fell for gob and Roy sooooo fucking hard it was crazy 😭 like I would risk getting any sort of radiation from them....

So I'm not surprised that while watching the fallout series that I would fall head over heals for the fucking ghoul 😭😭
