Recommendation: I don’t think I’ve ever really seen a non-magical, non-AU sex pollen fic before, and in keeping with the specifics of the trope this is PWP. But where this fic shines is in it’s confident portrayal of the main characters. They feel like real people in a way not everyone in BTS RPF can manage.

Recommendation: I’m not saying that I’m spending the weekend reading the works from this author; but eagle eyed folks may notice this is the second fic I’ve recommended from them in short order. A common aspect of the magic with mundane lead character concept is that the mundane character becomes magical. That is not present here. This is a delight - both in the ways it handles being different in a way that’s hard to articulate, and also in the fantastic group dynamics. An easy recommendation.

Recommendation: I disagree with the tag calling the Jungkook in this an unreliable narrator - he’s a kid dealing with his own trauma and debt, unable to see that he’s in a mafia AU (I don’t think that’s necessarily a spoiler). Overall this is a cute story despite the depth of its themes, and features a really fantastic, communicative jikook relationship.

Recommendation: Kim Seokjin is a gentleman detective, running around helping solve murders and missing dogs. Infinitely charming, he gets wrapped in a murder case of a wealthy poet - Min Yoongi’s ex-boyfriend. This has some consent issues and power dynamics associated with wealth, so if that bothers you at all, I wouldn’t necessarily recommend but it’s an exceptionally clever, lovely work that makes me wish I could write better mystery.
