Laura The Chicken (Somewhat Old Art)
This is my bird oc Laura :3 She is a light sussex hen and an old character I've had since 2017. We don't see enough chicken ocs so at the time I created her, I thought why not ^w^ It's nice to have characters of not so common species sometimes :3 I use to own chickens back when I lived in the countryside. I really like chickens, the bird, the eggs, and the meat. But I would never eat my friends ofcourse, just the eggs but that's about it really. I think one of our birds was also a light sussex like Laura is Recently my offline friend treated me to a surprise :D We went out to big town to check out some of the cool shops before going to the surprise, when we arrived, that's when I found out what the surprise was! ^-^ We went to see Wish at the cinema and I had lots of popcorn and irn bru ^w^ We both had popcorn :D My friend likes toffee popcorn while I like sweet and salty, yum! The movie was good too! I really like Star, he is actually alot funnier than Valentino who was suppose to be the funny one, but both are adorable ofcourse ^w^ I love the meaning of the movie, make sure to follow your dreams and make all your wishes come true! :D I also met an adorable tuxedo kitten on the way home, it had the cutest mews and I gave it some cuddles :3 It reminded me of Zack's cat form, who also looks alike ^w^ Anywho, please enjoy this really old art of Laura :3 This character and artwork was made all the way back in 2017, I'll maybe see about drawing her again when I have the time ^w^ For now I am hard at work on other artwork I am trying to get ready before the year ends, I've also been trying out different toy slimes and enjoying playing with them, aswell as enjoying other hobbies too like cooking, watching cartoons and anime, roleplaying with friends, and even playing Pokemon Scarlet and Violet with my good friend Wolfypoof :D We find it's easier to talk on voice call when we play games, it's fun ^w^ lol have a cute bird sneeze X3 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sTH1Sn23rIo
Please do not steal my character(s)! They belong to me, not you. Don't add offensive tags cos ya know, it's just unnecessary.. ╮(╯-╰)╭ And please do not criticise! I refuse to be criticised so please accept that. Oh and don't steal any of my artwork in any sort of way. ‾ʌ‾ Pleease be nice when commenting! Yep, fanart is welcomed as I truly appreciate gifts! ≧◡≦ Feel free to check out my other works too! I work so hard but it's always fun :3 If you can't say something nice, don't say nothing at all. Thanks for checking out my works! meep meep! ヽ(◕ヮ◕)ノ I'm on other places too! ^-^

@trulytaka asked: um i’ve always dreamt about a tattoo artist!renji falling for a client AU. it’s okay if you can’t come up with anything, just a suggestion!
How is it even possible that I have never read a Tattoo Artist! Renji AU?? (If there is one, please, send it to me immediately). Anyway, I got way too enamored of this idea, this is not even remotely a drabble, it is 4400 words and it is incredibly self-indulgent, I am absolutely not sorry.
It takes place in America and everyone is Japanese-American, because I am way more comfortable writing about American tattoo culture. I have never actually read a Tattoo Artist AU, I don’t know how they are supposed to go, this is just based on my own experiences getting inked. It’s mostly a story about Rukia and Renji being incredible nerfballs, there are not nearly enough stories about Rukia being a nerfball around Renji.
Read on ao3 or ff.net
💀     🛹     💕
Izuru Kira found Renji Abarai in the break room, simultaneously trying to cram a burrito into his face and read a Hellboy comic. He was holding the comic open with his elbow in an attempt to avoid spilling guacamole on Abe Sapien.
“Your two o’clock is here,” Izuru informed his distinguished colleague.
“Oh, great!” Renji replied, creasing the foil wrapper into a spout so that he could pour the last of the salsa drippings into his mouth.
“She’s waiting in the consult room,” Izuru went on, watching Renji toss the crumpled foil ball across the room, completely missing the trash can. “Look, have you met her before? A Miss Kuchiki?”
“Just exchanged a few emails,” Renji replied, as he scrubbed his hands at the sink. “Why? Is she scary?”
“Not in the usual way of Abarai clients,” Izuru replied. “I was just… wondering if she was... in the right place.”
“Her request was very specific,” Renji replied, scooping up his comic and the manila folder underneath it. “In fact, I am quite proud of what I came up with for her.” He whipped the folder open.
Izuru stared at it for a moment. “That is so specific.”
“I honestly think this is one of the best tatts I have ever designed. I hope she’s a real weirdo, because not just anyone deserves a masterpiece of this caliber.”
“Mmm,” Izuru agreed. “Yeah. Anyway, if there’s been a, uh, miscommunication, see if you can just… redirect her. Both Momo and I are in today, okay?”
Renji scoffed and stuffed his comic in Izuru’s hand as he marched down the hall toward the consult room. A miscommunication. Renji wondered what was wrong with her. She was probably mousy and wore glasses. Izuru always assumed girls like that would rather have a sad poem about the sea or a sprig of herbs inked on her wrist (conveniently, his specialties). Plenty of mousy girls with glasses would rather rock some fangs or dripping daggers, in Renji’s professional experience.
“Knock knock!” he announced, as he slid the door open. He took one step into the room and stopped dead.
Rukia Kuchiki was not mousy. She did not wear glasses.
Renji didn’t know much about suits. He did not happen to own one himself. But he guessed that Rukia Kuchiki’s suit was expensive, in part because it fit her perfectly, despite her tiny frame. It was jet black, and didn’t have a single speck of lint or cat hair on it. Her perfectly manicured hands were folded neatly on top of her crossed legs. She was wearing very tall, very pointy heels. Their soles were bright red, which Renji had learned from television meant that they were super expensive. He realized that he probably shouldn’t be looking at her legs, even though they were very nice to look at. His eyes snapped up to her face, but that honestly wasn’t any better.
Renji wasn’t often attracted to women, but she had probably the most interesting face he had ever seen-- heart-shaped, with big, dark eyes, a sharp chin, the cutest little nose. Her make-up was subtle and professional, and her hair was swept up with a clip, although it must be fairly short, because a few pieces hung down in front of her ears, and a thick lock dangled between her eyes.
She looked like a mean lawyer from a movie, one that would drive a fancy sportscar like an act of violence. Scary, for sure. But not in the usual way of Abarai clients, who tended toward the large and beefy, not that sharp and sharklike.
That nose, though.
Suddenly, her face split into a big grin. “Hi,” she announced brightly. “I’m Rukia Kuchiki.” She had a deep voice, a very beautiful voice. “You must be Renji Abarai.” Her eyes flicked to his arms. “I mean, of course you are, who else would have those arms? They’re so cool.”
“My arms?” Renji said stupidly. “Are they… famous?”
Rukia’s cheeks flushed. “Oh, well, I follow you on Instagram, and you don’t have any pictures of your face, but your arms are in a lot of the shots and they’re, well, they’re kinda distinctive. Do you think, um, would you mind if I looked at them?”
Renji’s eyebrows shot up. It’s not like he wasn’t used to having his arms checked out, but most people were more… subtle about it. Oh, well, it was her dime. “I didn’t do them myself, obviously,” he pointed out, rolling up the sleeves of his t-shirt so she could see the baboon skull on his left shoulder. A skeletal arm traced down the rest of that arm, complete with an outline of his own hand bones. On the right side, a snake spine coiled around his bicep, ending with a hissing skull. “I mean, it was my design, but my friends-- the other three tattoo artists here-- all helped ink me up.” He plopped down in the chair that sat catty corner to the couch where Rukia was sitting, and held his arms out. “We’re sort of a full-service studio. I’m the skeletons and monsters guy. Izuru, the guy you met on desk duty today-- is good at calligraphy and watercolors and little, itty bitty tattoos. Momo is our nature girl, she specializes in flowers and animals, and she’s great with bright colors. The snake skull was all her. Shuuhei is really into classic tattoo art-- you need a hula girl or a heart with an arrow through it, he’s your man. He’s also incredibly talented at revamping old regret tattoos, there’s good money in that.”
“Mm,” Rukia agreed, finally tearing her eyes away from his forearms to look up at his face, and abruptly turned even pinker. A lot of people fantasized about getting a tattoo and then got a bad case of nerves when it was time to make the leap. Maybe all this was way out of her comfort zone. Renji was trying his best to be friendly and chatty, which usually helped, but he was not used to dealing with this class of lady. He hoped he wasn’t coming off as too familiar.
“Actually,” Rukia went on, pulling on her fingers nervously. “I picked this place specifically because of you. For your work, I mean. I’m kind of a big fan. I saw some of your paintings at an exhibition over at the Fine Arts College, and I just, you know, fell in love. I’d always thought I’d like to get a tattoo someday, and when I found out that you were a tattoo artist, I knew it had to be you. I’ve been looking forward to this for a long time, and I’m babbling and I’m really sorry, I’m just very excited.”
Renji blinked. “You’re not babbling,” he replied slowly. He was sort of hoping she might say some more things about how much she liked his art in her beautiful voice. “Wait, an exhibition at the art school? That must have been at least three years ago, when I was doing my MFA.”
“Er, right,” Rukia looked a little sheepish. “A friend of mine had some work in the same exhibit, you probably don’t know her. My favorite one of your paintings was the one with the Black Lagoon creatures eating hamburgers at a diner, but I also really liked the one that was like a huge monster with a big bone mask stalking through a city, the way you did the shadows was just incredible.”
That particular painting was currently wrapped in brown paper and stuffed behind Renji’s couch. His last boyfriend had told him it was “creepy.”
“Uh, glad you liked it,” Renji managed. “Who was your friend?”
“Her name is Inoue. Orihime Inoue.”
“Oh, the robot girl!” Renji exclaimed. “Er, I mean she drew robots. Constantly. For every assignment. I didn’t mean to imply she was… robotic. In any way.” Jeez, Abarai, pull it together, he chided himself. “Yeah, I remember her. I didn’t know her well, but she sure could draw some tight robots. Is, she, uh, doing well?”
“She’s doing storyboards for a stop-motion animation studio,” Rukia replied.
Renji smiled. “That sounds perfect for her.”
Rukia bit her bottom lip and Renji’s throat went dry.
“So, um, you said in your email that you would have a design for me to look at?”
Renji realized that he was gripping the folder like a doofus. “Right! I did a couple of variations,” he explained, passing it from one hand to the other. “But you explained the concept pretty clearly, and I’m really happy with how the first one came out. I mean, obviously, it’s your tattoo! Please give me any feedback you have, you won’t offend me, even if you hate it! Tattoo designs often take a few iterations, it’s very normal, don’t hold back.”
She was staring at him, those big eyes wide and sparkling. “Can I… see it?”
“Oh! Right!” He shoved the folder at her.
Rukia opened it up and gasped.
“I especially love the way you draw skeletons,” Rukia’s email had read. “Do you think you could tattoo a grim reaper doing a sick kickflip on a skateboard onto my outer bicep? I do lift, so I am pretty jacked, if that makes a difference.”
“It’s perfect,” Rukia sighed in a tiny voice.
“Um, in the first variation (that’s page 2) I added some sunglasses, and in the second one, the grim reaper is flipping the bird and also its head is on fire. I guess I thought that grim reapers should be gender neutral but now I’m wondering if you would have preferred more of a… lady grim reaper?” Renji yammered absently.
“Oh, no,” Rukia murmured softly, flipping through the pages. Renji wasn’t even sure she had listened to a word he had said. “These are amazing. I love the sunglasses, but I also like the way you put little flames in the eye sockets in the first one…” She waved a hand absently. “Oh, and don’t worry, I like a non-binary skeleton.”
A small problem had just occurred to Renji. “Hey, um, please don’t take this the wrong way, but I… may have overestimated the size of your arms.”
“Oh?” Rukia asked, and abruptly shucked off her expensive suit jacket. She was wearing a pale purple sleeveless silk blouse underneath. She held one arm out experimentally, and then flexed. The muscle definition on her bicep made Renji take an involuntary swallow, but the fact that she was wicked cut did not buy him much in the way of real estate.
“I’ll just shrink it down maybe 25%,” he reassured her. “I’ll have to simplify some of the detail on--”
“No,” Rukia frowned, her eyebrows drawing together. “Don’t do that.” She thought for a moment. “I’m not committed to having it on my arm.” She uncrossed her legs and hefted one high-heeled foot onto the coffee table in front of her. “What do you think? Is my thigh big enough?”
Renji tried to make words come out, but it just wasn’t happening.
“Er… sorry,” Rukia said slowly, tugging at her hem. “I forgot I was wearing a skirt today.”
“Huh?” Renji scrambled to recover. He needed to say something. She looked really embarrassed. Say something! Say something professional about her leg! “Sorry, I was, uh, thinking!” Good, good, now keep going. “Don’t be self-conscious, I see people’s bodies all the time. Bodies are no big deal, we all got ‘em, right?” This was true in the abstract sense, but he knew these were blatant lies as they exited his mouth. Most people’s bodies were no big deal. He had only known her for five minutes, but was certain that Rukia Kuchiki’s thighs were a very big deal. He studied her leg, stroking his chin, like he was some kind of anthropologist of thigh tattoos. Mostly he was trying to figure out what would seem like an appropriate amount of time to look at a person’s thigh, a person who was your professional client that you most definitely did not have the hots for. “There’s certainly plenty of room,” he declared. “But, you know, people are going to see it less. Which is a selling point for some people! It’s just a personal decision that you’ll have to make. It sounds like you had a big vision.”
Rukia gingerly placed her foot back on the floor. “I had actually been wondering if maybe the upper arm was too public, anyway,” she admitted. “The fact is, I just got full access to my trust fund, and this is sort of a celebration, but I may have been a little overeager to piss off my big brother. He’s very stodgy.” She contemplated the area of her leg that was covered by her pencil skirt. “But so are a lot of people in my field. I can wait until I’m running my own company before I get started on the full sleeve of my dreams, right?”
“Worked for me,” Renji replied, utterly lost by whatever she was talking about. “What… field are you in?”
“Oh, finance,” she dismissed.
Finance. Of course. Renji tried to shoo away the weight of disappointment that was settling in his stomach. He was talking to a friendly client who was clearly loaded, loved his work, and was contemplating thousands of dollars worth of future business. He should be thrilled. He should probably be trying to sell her one of his old paintings-- they were only gathering dust, anyway. Renji would never break the studio policy about hitting on clients. The fact that she would surely laugh at him if he asked her to his favorite burger joint ought to make things easier, right?
“This is so hard!” Rukia declared, and Renji was shaken from his reverie. She was just contemplating his draft designs again, though, flipping back and forth between them.
“You don’t have to decide right now,” he reassured her. “You can think about it and email me. If you’re happy enough, we can schedule your session, and we’ll work out the details between now and then. Chat it over with your pal MechaHime, she’s got good opinions.” He paused. Momo always said he was too nice during consults, they were running a business, but he couldn’t help it. “Or you can just call back when you’re ready. No pressure.”
Rukia slammed her fist down on her knee. “No! Let’s schedule it! Do I pay now?”
“20% deposit. Let’s go out front, Izuru will ring it up.”
“Perfect.” She looked longingly at the drawings again. “Can I take these with me? You’re absolutely right, Orihime will know what to do.”
Renji wrinkled his nose. “It’s actually against studio policy but…”
Rukia’s face suddenly became very serious. “Then it’s against policy.” She winked at him and smiled. “You should take care of your intellectual property, Mr. Abarai.”
“I never get over to this part of town, to be honest,” Rukia admitted as they walked back up to the front. “Is the taco place across the street any good?”
“Oh, yeah, it’s great,” Renji agreed. “Momo and I painted a huge mural on their wall, so they give us free churros.”
“Are tacos a good post-tattoo celebratory meal?” Rukia asked curiously.
“Well, you actually want to eat beforehand,” Renji pointed out. “It’s important to keep your energy up. I don’t estimate yours should take very long, I’m gonna book you a two-hour slot.”
“Ah, okay,” Rukia agreed, and Renji realized belatedly that...maybe… she had been asking him out? No. Surely not. His brain scrabbled for a response, but then he stepped into the reception area and his brain shut down entirely.
“It’s DONE!” Shuuhei bellowed. “Behold my work, ye mighty, and despair!”
Tetsuzaemon Iba, serial client, yakuza enthusiast, and assistant manager at a doggie day care, was flexing. He was not wearing a shirt.
From behind the reception desk, Kira was wearing a dour frown and shaking his head.
“It’s a masterpiece,” Renji declared. “I admit I was skeptical, but it looks fantastic, man. You happy with it?”
“It” was a massive tattoo, covering the wide landscape of Iba’s broad back. It featured a lucky cat, grinning maniacally, its paw held high. It was on fire. The kanji for “lucky charm” was incorporated somehow. It was a disaster. It was perfect.
“How could I not be?” Iba boomed.
“Whoa,” a tiny voice behind Renji said.
Iba’s face went pale when he realized that he was being Peak Iba in front of an elegant, professional woman whose shoes probably cost more than his entire net worth. “Gimme me my shirt!” he demanded of Shuuhei.
“That’s… amazing!” Rukia exclaimed, her face lighting up. “Wow, how long did that take?”
Shuuhei blinked slowly as he passed Iba his shirt. “Five sessions.”
“Well, it’s so cute!” Rukia announced. “You must love cats.”
Iba lifted at the same gym as Renji and watched Momo’s Pomeranian on Tuesdays and Thursdays. He was a regular fixture at the tattoo studio, and all four of them liked to drag him, but no one, none of them, had ever roasted him this hard. Renji cursed that no-asking-out-clients rule, because he wanted to buy Rukia Kuchiki her own body weight in tacos and then ask her to be his wife.
“He’s more of a dog person,” Shuuhei supplied.
“Great with dogs,” Izuru added.
“Shut up, you jerks, I am a lover of all animals,” Iba grumbled as he pulled his Hawaiian shirt over his shoulders. “Is this your lawyer, Abarai? Did you finally get arrested for that hairstyle?”
“I have an MBA, actually, not a JD,” Rukia replied matter-of-factly. “And I am his client. Can you show that large man my tattoo design? Is that allowed?”
Renji chuckled, and pulled out his drawing.
“That,” Iba declared, “is a wicked tatt.”
“Oh, you showed me that email!” Shuuhei recalled. “It came out great.” He regarded Rukia. “He was really excited about that one, you made his day.”
Rukia just beamed proudly.
“Are we booking a session, then?” Izuru asked hopefully.
“Yeah, two hours,” Renji nodded.
“Let me just finish ringing up Iba, and I’ll see when you’ve got an opening,” Izuru replied.
“This your first one?” Shuuhei asked Rukia conversationally.
“Mm-hmm,” Rukia nodded.
“Well, you made a good choice. Clean design, mostly black with just a few color pops, should go on quick and easy, and it’ll hold up really well, too.”
“This is Shuuhei, the one I was telling you about, who fixes a lot of bad tattoos.”
“I have never had to fix an Abarai tattoo,” Shuuhei declared. “He’s great with first timers. Very gentle. I’ve fallen asleep while he was inking me.” Shuuhei pointed to the pair of crossed scythes gracing his upper arm. “This is one of his.”
“Oooh, neat!” Rukia agreed.
“You’re being embarrassing,” Renji informed his friend.
“Always,” Shuuhei agreed. “Nice to meet you! I hope I get to see the finished product.” He waved to Iba as he headed off toward the back. “Don’t forget to moisturize!”
“Everyone’s so friendly here,” Rukia said softly to Renji. “This isn’t at all like I pictured it.”
Renji stretched his arms behind his head. “Nah, we’re just a bunch of goofballs who like drawin’ on people. Very lowkey.”
“I guess I’ve thought a lot about the getting tattooed part of getting tattooed, but I never thought of it as… a job. That people have.”
“It’s a great job,” Renji replied. “I love it. I’m just lucky that Izuru over there has enough business sense to keep the other three of us from running it into the ground.”
“That’s certainly the truth,” Izuru agreed, as Iba headed out the door. “Two hours, you said? Renji’s got a 4-6pm block open on a Wednesday, three weeks from now. The 24th, how does that work for you, Ms. Kuchiki?”
“Do you think that’s enough time to settle on a design?” Renji asked. “If you come up with changes, it should only take me a day or two to incorporate them.”
“Oh! Yes, three weeks should be fine. I thought… it might be a little sooner,” Rukia replied, sounding a tad disappointed.
“Abarai’s a busy man, three weeks is actually pretty quick,” Izuru explained.
“Right, of course!” Rukia nodded. “Yes, I’ll take the 24th!”
She then paid her deposit, a process which involved her taking approximately ten thousand items out of her purse, including a full-sized drawing pad, a single fingerless glove, and a Pez dispenser with a duck head. She was the most contradictory person Renji had ever met, and he just wanted to know everything about her. But instead, they were going to exchange a couple of emails about a grim reaper on a skateboard, he was going to spend an hour and a half two inches from her naked thigh in a state of intense, non-sexual concentration, and then he would likely never see her again.
“Okay, I guess that’s it!” Rukia said, stuffing the last of her worldly belongings back into the purse. “Three weeks, then!”
“Three weeks it is,” Renji agreed. “Unless we happen to run into each other at the taco place.”
Rukia blinked. “Oh!” she exclaimed. “Right. Ha, ha, of course!” She’d been walking backwards toward the door, an impressive feat in those heels, and she spun suddenly to pull it open.
“It’s a push,” Renji and Izuru chorused together.
“Ha, ha, of course it is!” Rukia laughed nervously, and ducked out.
Izuru stared pointedly at Renji. “Wow,” he said.
“I don’t know what you have against her,” Renji scowled. “So she’s professional. She was really nice. She’s a big fan of my work.”
Izuru cocked his head. “She’s clearly also a big fan of you.”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Renji said.
“Look, I’m sorry I implied that a person who drives a Lotus Exige would not be interested in having your weird skeleton doodles permanently placed on her body,” Izuru held up his hands, “but did you really not notice the little hearts and singing birds floating around her head every time she gazed longingly at you?”
“Since when do you know anything about cars?” Renji snapped.
“It looked fancy and I asked Shuuhei what it was, okay!”
On cue, Shuuhei burst back into the reception area, Momo close on his tail. “Are we talking about the hot client who has a crush on Abarai?”
“Did you ask her out?” Momo asked breathlessly.
“She’s not really his type,” Izuru mused. “Very corporate.”
Renji frowned. Did he have a type? If his type excluded people like Rukia Kuchiki, he might need to get a new type.
“Who cares, she was adorable!” Momo insisted. “I woulda asked her out.”
“Renji, if you go out with her, can you get me a ride in the Exige?” Shuuhei added.
“I’m not gonna ask her out!” Renji protested. “What happened to the no-hitting-on-clients rule?”
“The rule is no creeping on clients,” Shuuhei correctly. “This is different. She’s clearly into you, big time.”
“Also, she seems non-terrible, unlike the questionable human beings you usually take up with,” Izuru pointed out. “We could relax the rule if it netted you an actually decent partner for a change.”
Renji scowled judgmentally at Izuru, as if his own dating history had been remotely better before he and Shuuhei finally hooked up.
“Oh!” Momo waved her phone. “Speaking of which, I googled her, like you told me to, Izuru--”
“Izuru!” Renji protested.
“--and you were right! She’s not just one of the Kuchikis, she’s the granddaughter!” Momo thrust her phone in Renji’s face. It was some article about some fancy charity event, complete with a picture that was clearly Rukia, dressed in a dramatic black and gold evening gown.
Renji wanted to push Momo’s hand away, but he also didn’t want to stop looking at Rukia in that dress. “The who?” he asked.
Izuru and Momo sighed dramatically in synchronized exasperation.
“Embarrassingly rich old money family? I don’t know what they actually do, but they’re always in the newspapers, donating money for something or other--”
“Billionaire philanthropists,” Shuuhei intoned in a fake deep voice.
“--I heard they’re descended from some famous clan of samurai back in Japan,” Momo ignored him. She jerked her phone back and started tapping at it frantically. “I’m sure you’ve seen pictures of the grandson-- Rukia’s brother, I guess. He always makes those lists of top ten hottest bachelors.”
“He’s dreamy,” Shuuhei seconded.
“Impossibly dreamy,” Izuru thirded.
Momo flipped her phone around again, to reveal a picture of a very serious, and very handsome man in a classic three-piece wool suit. Renji supposed “impossibly dreamy” was not an inaccurate description.
“Yeah, I think I’ve seen pictures of that guy before,” Renji shrugged. “He’s okay. Rukia has a more interesting face, I think.”
Momo and Shuuhei exchanged raised eyebrows.
“You do like her, then?” Izuru asked, his face brightening. “You’re wrong, by the way, Byakuya Kuchiki has the face of an angel.”
“Rukia says he’s stuffy,” Renji shrugged. “And fine. I like her. She’s cute and nice and had good taste in tattoos. What’s not to like?”
“Are you gonna ask her out, then?” Momo pressed.
“Absolutely not,” Renji replied. “She’s my client. Besides, as you just pointed out, she’s loaded. What’s she want with a scumbag like me?”
All three of his friends groaned.
“You have good delts and sexy hair,” Izuru pointed out.
“You give amazing hugs!” Momo declared.
“You draw fantastic skeletons,” Shuuhei added. “Which, apparently, is relevant to her interests, and not a thing you usually find on Tindr.”
“Also, we’ve already established that she does like you, regardless of whether she has a valid reason for doing so,” Izuru concluded. “So, if you’re at all interested, you really shouldn’t let that stop you.”
“I think you should go for it,” Momo encouraged.
“Me, too,” Shuuhei agreed.
Renji grimaced. She was an amazing girl, too good to be true probably. If she had any sense at all, she would certainly turn him down. But maybe… just maybe… she didn’t have any sense. “Okay,” he grudgingly agreed. “I’ll do it. But not until I’m finished the damn tattoo!”

YUTA’S FAMILY
here’s the fourth part! i had a lot of fun writing yuta’s family and i hope you guys like it!
here’s the masterlist to all things related to nct as dads! i have a couple other parts available right now, so you should check those out too!
Tumblr media
NAKAMOTO YUTA:
he has four kids, 3 girls and 1 boy. nakamoto akari is the oldest daughter, 1 year later, nakamoto yui was born, 4 years later, nakamoto ichika was born, and 5 years after that, the youngest and only boy, nakamoto itsuki was born.
(when itsuki was born, akari was 10, yui was 9, and ichika was 5.)
NAKAMOTO AKARI: >> as a baby <<
she honestly
was a lot
from the start even to when she became an adult lol
she wasn’t the easiest by all means
she was spoiled by yuta from the start
and she developed a little bit of a princess mentality
her and her little sister yui are only a year apart
so akari wasn’t too thrilled when the attention wasn’t on her
akari lives for the attention
she also had a lot of energy as a baby
she honestly was just not an easy baby
she wanted everything all of the time
it’s okay tho
you and yuta took care of it
she was just training you for the years to come :)
you have a ton of adorable videos and pictures of her
she became a really famous instagram baby
she has you and yuta wrapped around her little chubby finger
you would watch a lot of slice of life animes and hayao miyazaki style films with her from an early age
she’s always been so fascinated by them
you watched them a lot when you were pregnant with her
and it’s like she was excited to finally watch them
she never really liked the typical cartoons as a baby
she genuinely liked animated shows that have genuine good art styles
she was pretty social as a baby
she also has so much hair
like when she was born, she had a full head of hair
you have to cut her hair like once a month because it’s always growing in her face
do you know the picture of baby yuta with his hair tied up?
she looks exactly like that towards the end of every month because you guys have to tie up her hair because it grows so freaking fast
she wasn’t the easiest baby, but she was only training you for her younger siblings
>> as a child <<
she discovered her love for art here
when they’d study art in school, people thought it was boring, but she was genuinely interested
she’s also really good at art
like she understood that people don’t have purple skin from an early age
she would always color inside of the lines
akari is an amazing artist growing up
she’s best friends with taeil’s oldest daughter, moon yoojin (they’re born on the same day, 12 hours apart)
yoojin is the type of girl to come home from school exactly as she left
like if her hair was tied up neatly, it would remain that way
akari on the other hand?
she’ll come home covered in paint, markers, mud, you name it
on some days, she comes home wearing different clothes because she got the clothes she was wearing originally so dirty
yoojin came over to your house a lot
you guys were just scared with what akari would do to taeil’s house lol
akari loved to draw on the walls
even when you and yuta scolded her for it, she wouldn’t stop
yuta doesn’t want to stop her from doing what she loves
you obviously don’t want that either
so you guys compromised and let her paint, draw, do whatever she wants on the walls of her room
and her room is full of her creativity
her personality shows through her artwork
yoojin liked to color with her too, but yoojin doesn’t really like to get dirty
akari just always has some sort of stain or marker mark on her clothes/skin 24/7
you’ve honestly gotten used to it at this point
she doesn’t have the princess mentality she had when she was a baby
she also doesn’t hate yui anymore
when ichika was born, akari realized that she has to be an older sister now
and she’s not bad at it
she’s not the best with it, but she does it because she has to
for example, she’ll scold them and keep them in check so you don’t have to scold them
akari does her best to listen to you and yuta, but sometimes she wants to rebel
she was only a little bit rebellious growing up, just because it’s in her nature lol
she loves the heck out of you and her siblings tho
she takes the role as the oldest really well
you usually don’t worry too much about the kids, simply because akari is there for you guys
>> as a teen/adult <<
here is when she takes art seriously and decides that she wants to be an animator
like the new hayao miyazaki level
she does get there eventually
she’s calmed down a lot, she’s not as energetic as she used to be
all of her energy is in her art now
she’s always making art for yoojin’s company
she’s a really positive person tho!
she is stressed 24/7 tho
she travels the world a lot because she needs to learn more about scenes for her art
when she’s not working, she’s still a lot of fun
when she hangs out with yoojin, neither of them mention work
yoojin is still like the reliable and scary older sibling
but akari is the fun one
like if someone wants to go to a theme park, she’ll take them
if someone wants to go to a concert but their parents don’t want to take them
akari will take them
when she parties, she parties hard
she’s still stressed even when she parties tho lol
she’s so supportive of all of her little siblings tho
like she goes to all of her youngest brother, itsuki’s, soccer games
she’ll take him to practice everyday
she’ll go to all of their school dances, school plays, everything
yoojin and akari will be there for everything
she has a hard time making friends outside of her family and outside of her work
and she’s totally fine with that
she doesn’t feel alone
she has yoojin, noah (johnny’s oldest son), kaleb (ten’s oldest son), etc.
she has a huge friends and family all behind her
everyone loves her stuff
like they always go to the premiers and they buy all of the merch she has
so many people love her art style
and they all want to collab with her
she gets overwhelmed with stuff like this lol
she also is really picky with the people she’ll collab with
she’s not desperate for work
so if she doesn’t vibe with someone
she won’t work with them
easy as that
she’s a really good animator who is really stressed all the time but still is an amazing older sister to everyone
NAKAMOTO YUI: >> as a baby <<
she slept
a lot
sleeping is just her thing
yui was definitely the calm before the storm
ichika was woah
anyway
you and yuta were a little concerned that she slept so much
but the doctors were like “sometimes kids just sleep a lot”
and she’s one of them
she was the cutest when she sleeps tho
she slept so peacefully every night
she only really bugged you guys when was needed
it was like all of the energy that should have gone to her went to akari
there were only two babies born the year she was born
it’s yui and mei, sicheng’s daughter
they honestly just vibed with each other growing up
like they won’t do much
they’ll look at each other, laugh, then stop laughing, then look at each other, then laugh again
they’re so chill with each other
her eyes are slightly slanted down
and she always has a sleepy look in her eyes
when she wakes up, she’s wondering when her next nap is gonna be
her favorite place to nap is in your arms
or yuta’s arms
it’s so cute when she does tho
her cheek is pressed up against your chest
she drools just a little bit
her little fist is curled up into a ball
her snores are so slight and cute
she’s just adorable
if it isn’t clear, she’s a sleepy little one
she loves akari even tho akari didn’t like her too much growing up
she really is the calm before the storm
>> as a child <<
nap time is her favorite thing ever
she’s kinda lazy lol
she’ll go and play with her friends
but she gets tired really easily
she really likes looking at flowers tho
she thinks they’re so pretty
she loves to collect them, press them
she’s like a little flower
she’s so small and delicate
she’s a little bit on the sensitive side
but like no one wants to mess with her because she’s like never done anything wrong her whole life?
yui is very friendly and kind
but she doesn’t actively seek out friends like on the daily
she’s best friends with sicheng’s daughter, dong mei (they’re the only two born in their year)
they both enjoy quiet and peace
they also both love the sun and vibe with nature
they’re both in charge of their school’s garden club
yui has a green thumb
like she’s really good at keeping and maintaining plants
she’s happiest when she’s taking care of her garden
you and yuta notice this and you turn your balcony into her own garden
she’s so happy and excited about it
yuta used to work in a flower shop so he helps her out whenever she can
(like actually, he used to work in a flower shop lol if that’s not cute idk what is)
she isn’t super ambitious
like she doesn’t want to be an idol or anything
she just wants to vibe with nature
she isn’t scared of bugs
she loves bugs so much
because bugs help her plants
and she also loves animals!
like you know the scene at the start of moana when moana is helping a baby turtle get into the ocean?
that’s yui everyday
obviously not with turtles, but she’ll bring home all animals
kittens, puppies, one time she brought home a bird because it just flew into her backpack
because of yui, yuta and you own like 4 cats and 3 dogs and several fishes
she basically rescues the strays she can find and you guys find owners for the strays
but you kept the ones people don’t like
so like one of your cats is missing an eye
one of your dogs is missing a leg
etc.
yui loves them all tho
nature loves yui and yui loves nature
>> as a teen/adult <<
she owns and runs a flower shop chain
it’s simple, but she loves doing it
she’s one of the most successful flower shops in the city she lives in
she loves making flower arrangements for events
and it’s nice and quiet where she works
and she’s surrounded by plants?
it’s a complete win
whenever any of the kids have any events, they go to her flower shop to get stuff
like all of the major events yoojin has, she’ll have yui take care of it
and when leo’s movie or noah’s photoshoot needs flowers
they’ll ask her
omg okay imagine
so, it’s her birthday but she’s not super big in birthday stuff tbh (she honestly forgets sometimes)
so, the kids all go to her shop one by one throughout the day
and they all ask for her recommendations and ask her what her favorite types of flowers and flower designs are
and she’ll make it, thinking that she’s helping for another event
and at the end of the day, she goes home and is surprised by her whole family (and all of the kids)
and the entirety of her apartment is covered in her flowers
she’s so happy and everything is just so aesthetic and ugh
it’s her dream birthday party and everyone did it for her
she’ll never say no to anyone asking for any help
there’s cats and dogs that roam her shop too lol
honestly, if anyone was feeling stressed or just needs a break from anything
they’ll go to her shop
she’ll put them in her favorite part of the shop
and she’ll make them some tea
she’ll put on some chill acoustic music
and they’ll instantly feel less stressed
she’s really good at listening to people rant
she doesn’t really give input other than “I’m sorry...”
or “that sucks”
it almost seems as if nothing will make her mad tbh
yuta likes to come by and work with her sometimes lol
if you need any animal or gardening advice, she’s your girl
akari comes to the flower shop a lot too
akari even made an anime based on yui’s flower shop
honestly, she’s such a chill person and if anyone crosses her, you have her entire family to answer to :)
NAKAMOTO ICHIKA: >> as a baby <<
she was so giggly
she like
would never stop giggling tho
the only time she wasn’t giggling, she was crying
when she cried, she cried big
like taeil and his family, you guys had to soundproof your house
i mean, with 4 kids tho, it was a pretty good idea
she had such a big personality from the start
like she screamed a lot
and she laughed a lot
she loved it when people laughed with her too
and even tho you heard it everyday
it still made your heart flutter every single time you heard her beautiful laugh
she gave you a hard time tho
like she needed attention constantly, not like yui
yui slept a lot but ichika never slept
ichika was always always always awake
it seemed like she would only sleep when she literally would pass out
ichika loved the world from the start she doesn’t want to sleep ever because she loves the world too much
akari and yui are very caring towards her
akari will paint her nursery and every school project she made would be for ichika
and yui would grow flowers and bring them to her baby sister
if akari and yui were fighting, they would drop it all to take care of ichika
ichika would make them laugh and would laugh at them all of the time
ichika was full of boundless energy
like honestly
it’s crazy
it’s almost like she teleports across the house
you’ll literally set her down on the couch or something to go feed her
and when you go to the kitchen to bring her bottle
she’s suddenly in your room
and you’re so confused because your room is on the other side of your home
it’s like crazy how fast she can crawl
oh no
okay one time, yui left the balcony open a bit
and you put ichika in the kitchen
and ichika crawled outside
you had to sprint over to her before she crawled off the edge
she was safe tho dw
you all learned that you have to close the balcony
>> as a child <<
she’s so funny and such a prankster
she makes really good jokes
she’s a lot like taeil’s son, moon seojoon
he’s her favorite older brother
he teaches her how to do some pranks and she follows
she’s so goofy
like she loves watching comedies
but most importantly
she loves to make people laugh
she’s a little bit of a trouble maker
like most of the letters home are about her pulling a prank
out of all of the kids, you had to scold her the most
she loves to play with her siblings and yuta tho
yuta laughs a lot when he’s around ichika
she’s kinda clumsy
she’s a trouble maker, but she knows when to stop
she’s really empathetic
like she hates it when people are sad
she’ll go out of her way to make them laugh
if it’s not one of those situations tho
she’ll cry with them
emotionally, it’s almost as she knows exactly what they need when they need it
if you ever want anyone to break bad news, she’s one of the best
she’s best friends with renjun’s oldest daughter, huang zhangli (they’re born the same year)
zhangli is also really giggly
they’re a funny bunch
they love to make funny skits and plays together
like seojoon and his best friend, lee minah (haechan’s oldest daughter), they compliment each other quite well
they’re both really pretty
again, a ton of dudes have crushes on them
a lot of them like ichika because she has a sense of humor
she’s pretty popular at school
she’s honestly that girl
like that really popular and hilarious girl at your school?
that’s her
she tries not to be annoying
like when people tell her to stop, she’ll stop
none of the things she does is super disrespectful tho
she’s a prankster, but most of her pranks are pretty innocent
a lot of people love her for her personality tbh
>> as a teen/adult <<
becomes a comedian
it’s like a tv personality
but that’s the thing
her personality is her tv personality lol
leo seo noticed that she’s genuinely such a funny person
and his company was looking for a comedian or just a new face to do interviews
he brought up ichika and they loved her personality
she had no idea what she was doing tbh
like she’s confused why leo chose her
and during the interview, she had no idea what to do
leo told her to be completely and utterly herself, down to the last joke
and she did
and landed a job
she started interviewing different idols and different stars
she became one of the most well known tv personalities
she’s not fake, she’s genuinely funny
like heechul
she’s a good person too
she donates a lot of her money to charity
she meets another person in the industry
he’s like an actor leo acted with in a movie
and like the dude mentioned to leo like “man, nakamoto ichika is so funny and like she just seems like an awesome girl to be around, i would love to meet her.”
and by complete random chance, ichika was getting into the studio you guys were leaving
she sees leo and is like “yoooooo leo!! what is up!”
and the guy is awestruck but like a little annoyed that leo didn’t tell him that he knew her
the actor dude meets her and it’s like love at first sight lol
she leaves after she meets him bc she’s on a tight schedule
the actor is like “dude, why didn’t you tell me you know her?”
leo is like “i never said i didn’t know her. she’s like one of my little sisters so like don’t even think about it.”
the actor dude did think about
but it’s okay because he’s a really good dude
and in noah and yui’s eyes, he’s good enough for ichika
in the eyes of zhangli and akari? he’s not good enough for her
no one is good enough for their baby sister
but actor dude is
anyway
she’s really good at her job
jaehyun’s youngest son, jung leon, is also sort of a tv personality
and they meet together a lot because of it
they’re both so funny
they are hosts for shows together almost all of the time
and like she steers away from scandals and stuff
and she shows that she isn’t a mindless interviewer following the script
she actually interacts with the idols and actors she interviews
and when she’s on shows like running man or something
she’s making people laugh all of the time
whenever anyone is around her, they’re bound to be full of laughter
honestly, even tho she gave you guys a hard time when she was younger
she made up for it with how much she makes you guys laugh now.
NAKAMOTO ITSUKI: >> as a baby <<
a kicker
when you were pregnant with him, he kicked the most
yuta was so excited to have a son
like he loves his daughters, don’t get me wrong
but he was just so hyped to finally have a son
the fact that he kicked a lot shows you that he’s a soccer player
yuta was so hyped
everything he got for his son was soccer themed
as a baby, he was still a kicker
like he was just always using his legs
constantly
and when he kicked, he kicked hard
like he for sure gave yui a black eye once or twice
his sisters took such good care of him tho
well
for the most part lol
if you know seola, sua, and sian from return of the superman
that’s the dynamic lol
the girls will play with their baby brother like a sister
akari will put make up on his face
yui will put flowers in his hair
ichika will dress him up in a dress
he doesn’t hate it tho
he loves his sisters and he loves to play with them
alternatively, they’ll play soccer with him too
he was pretty fussy
he wasn’t as bad as ichika, but he definitely wasn’t as quiet as yui
he was a good middle between
you guys are already experienced with your other kids
so you weren’t that stressed with him
he was a really happy baby too
like he’s really social too
he’s honestly yuta’s carbon copy
he has a healing smile
>> as a child <<
soccer. player.
he wants to go pro
he’s so good at soccer tho
it makes yuta happy because it brings him back to the times before he became an idol
he’s best friends with jungwoo’s youngest daughter, kim jiyoung (they’re born the same year)
they both are interested in soccer
they’re both soccer gods too lol
like you know the thing where yuta can juggle the ball for a really long time
yeah, itsuki can do that easily
the second itsuki was old enough to play soccer, he did
you decided to move into a bigger place with a big backyard
one reason is because yuta wants like a mini soccer field since the whole family loves soccer anyway
this also gives yui a huge space to grow her garden
the move was good for everyone
way more space for everyone :)
anyway
his whole life revolves around soccer
he loves it
everyday he trains harder and harder
because he really does want to go pro
he’s apart of the advanced teams as a little kid
yuta is the most supportive person in his life for everything and especially soccer
yuta knows what it’s like to train to be a professional
like if you didn’t know, yuta was going to be a professional soccer player
but he stopped because he realized he wanted to be an idol more lol
yui and itsuki get along really well
mostly because when he’s outside practicing
she’s outside tending her garden
they’re both significantly more tan than the rest of their siblings
and they love it
jiyoung came over to your house a lot
she goes to practice with itsuki
they both are skilled with soccer and they’re so talented at it too
honestly, they were meant to be together
like you knew it
yuta knew it
jungwoo knew it
jungwoo’s significant other knew it
the world knew it
as children of course they denied it
anyway, itsuki has a really big appetite
mainly because he’s such a hardworking person
he’s very thankful for everything you do for him and he lets you know that
even if you don’t understand soccer that well, you go to every single one of his matches
yuta is lowkey a coach
and he’s a pretty good one too!
personality wise, he’s literally just like yuta
he even looks just like yuta
he has a healing smile and all of the girls fall for him because of it
he’s a really kind person, too
he’s just a really talented, kind, and hardworking kid
>> as a teen/adult <<
pursues that dream
plays soccer for his university
he even goes pro
girls like him because he’s so sporty
he only really cares about jiyoung tho
jiyoung and him kinda just agreed one day that they’re dating lol
and it’s a really good relationship
like they both love soccer more than anything
and they both go pro
and they’re just so good together?
itsuki has a hidden love for fashion too
so he goes to noah to ask him for fashion advice to make sure he stays trendy
and he does
like a lot of people love him because he’s honestly a total package
he’s good at soccer, he’s friendly and kind, he’s a good boyfriend, AND he’s fashionable?
like
no wonder the world fell in love with him lol
even tho he’s like a celebrity
he still is scared of his sisters
like they keep him in check lol
but he loves them unconditionally
anytime he brings home flowers for jiyoung
he goes to yui
he buys all of akari’s merch when she releases it
he watches everything ichika is in
he’s so supportive of his sisters and he’ll do anything for them
he thinks the world of them and it’s honestly so cute
he does a little modeling on the side bc he’s just so handsome
noah hooks him up with the gigs :)
anyway
he’s genuinely a good person
like he’s pretty busy and he can’t be there for every event
but he still supports as much as he can
he’s apart of the younger generation so he doesn’t really have a lot of younger ones to look after
regardless, he’s pretty good with kids
he makes sure that every single game you and yuta know how thankful and happy he is for everything you’ve done for him
he’s still a hardworking man
he’s just such a good person who doesn’t let the celebrity life get to him (mainly because if he did, he has his older sisters to whip him back into shape)
---
honestly, yuta’s family is one of my favorites :)
i hope you guys liked it! yuta is such an awesome person and his kids would show that :)
kun’s family is up next! stay tuned y’all :)

Congratulations, DIANA! You’ve been accepted for the role of DIANA. Admin Rosey:  There is a freshness and charm that Daphne brings to everything - her interviews, her conversations, her reasoning. This decision was not at all an easy one because both applications highlighted different aspects of her that we love and adore. But ultimately it was this voice, this distinctly Daphne voice that brought the decision to a close. She makes you fall in love with her that much more. I can't to see what she does when you bring her to life on the dash!  Please read over the checklist and send in your blog within 24 hours.
WELCOME TO THE MOB.

IN CHARACTER
Character | Daphne Adèle Allard / Diana
What drew you to this character? | Heavy is the head that wears the crown. Daphne knows this, even if the crown she wears is a halo of thornless roses – and she fucking loves that halo, no matter what the cost is. What draws me to Daphne is that even though she’s an impeccable pickpocket, even though she loves power, and even though she’s got plenty of vices despite her cherubic features,  Daphne loves. She knows what it’s like to suffer (even if it’s not like what others have gone through) and she wants to do something. She wants to help, but how much of that is her ego and how much of that is genuine is ambiguous. There’s that line between a good person and someone who does  good deeds that’s very blurred when it comes to Daphne, and that fascinates me. She looks like someone who would get chewed up and spit out by the mafia, but her light shines brighter. In some ways, she’s like an anti-Marie Antoinette; she’s got that aesthetic, but she’s too bright to do a “Let them eat cake” moment (even though I know she didn’t actually say that) or play peasantry at a fancy cottage. She’s privileged and beloved and smart enough to know how to combine the two.  I also find it fascinating that she almost wishes that she was that princess in an ivory tower – so everyone could be safe – and that while she embodies a little of that trope, she’s this really interesting reversal, where she’s both the princess and the dragon. There’s this interplay between the corruption of power and the trope that the people who don’t want power are the ones best suited for it; Daphne is not as angelic as she looks. She wants to save. She wants to be a heroine. She is hesitant of the power she wants to wield because she knows herself too well. But at the same time, there’s nothing wrong with wanting power. Power and goodness is a zero-sum game, especially in Verona. There’s also something relatable about Daphne that I really like, as her experience with getting bullied is reminiscent of my own. She’s incredibly beautiful, incredibly rich, incredibly powerful, and incredibly adored, but she’s still relatable, or at least, knows how to manage her image so that she comes across as aspirational and human, as well. Also, I adore that she’s 31. She’s got some naivete, but she’s a grown-ass woman with her own ambitions. In addition, her mob name is my name, and I’m shallow.
What is a future plot idea you have in mind for the character? | (1)  A CROWN FOR YOUR PRINCESS – Daphne doesn’t look like it, but she’s got ambition. Right now, she has not let the fact that’s sees a member of organized crime taint her. She is deified, but there is yet to be blood on her hands. I think it would be interesting for Daphne’s mask of heroism to be pushed when she has to do something truly horrible, truly unforgivable in the name of the Capulet’s. Her desire to do good with her desire to get (and keep) her power at war with one another is interesting to me, and I think pushing her to define her moral compass (or lack thereof) and figuring out where she wants to go in the mob power structures could be interesting to play out. (2) A HEART FULL OF LOVE? - Daphne is a lover. She wants love. She wants it to be real. But she’s also engaged to a man that she doesn’t love and is fascinated by Renzo to the point that he’s described as her Achilles’ Heel. Beau can help her get everything she wants – on the paper, they are a fairytale couple – but he doesn’t inspire passion in her yet; at the same time, she would be upset if he were to step out on her. I think it could be interesting to see Daphne’s own feelings for Beau become more real and have to deal with the implications of real love. Because Daphne wants power. She wants to be a heroine. She wants to be adored. But all she’s let the world see is a mask, a symbol. Not a real woman. And it’s impossible to love a symbol; you can be cherished and adored, but never truly, heartbreakingly loved in the way that she wants to be. (3) O, DEATH – Something about Daphne’s bio that fascinated me is that it describes Beau as an Apollo figure whom Daphne sees more like Hades – a man of death, of isolation, and of riches. She’s darkness where there is light. But Daphne is more of the same – she is Aphrodite, goddess of love and beauty, but she has her own affair with the darkness inside of her. She is a Persephone and her own Hades. She knows she’s capable of great horrors, and that she could destroy Verona if she wants to. It would be interesting to see Daphne be pushed to that darker place where she wants the city that she adores to burn. People want to destroy beautiful things. Daphne and Verona are both beautiful, and ripe for rot.
Are you comfortable with killing off your character? | (Devastatingly) yes.
IN DEPTH
Please choose between the interview or the para sample (or both, if you like!)
In-Character Interview: The following questions must be answered in-character, and in para form (quotations, actions written out if applicable, etc). There is no minimum or maximum limit for your response - simply answer as you would if you were playing the character.
What is your favorite place in Verona? She smooths down her hair, subconsciously rearranging the artful brown curls. Daphne doesn’t need to double or triple check in the mirror whether her lipstick is perfect or her eyeliner is crisp. She knows her angles. She knows herself. And she agreed to this interview. Not to talk about her love life, but to talk about the shelter she had just joined the board of. “I’m a Verona girl through and through,” Daphne laughs. “You’re a Verona native, too – right, Signora? You know that this city can be a lot, putting it mildly. And you know I’m just not being facetious when I say that it’s hard to pick a favorite spot. Hmm…but if I had to pick, I’d pick the Castelvecchio Bridge. For so long, it was a symbol of unity in our divided city. My parents used to take me on long walks around the city when I was little, and I remember stopping and looking out over the river. I just have fond memories of Verona at that bridge. And it’s so horrible what happened – the explosion. To have that bright for the city get taken away, it’s just horrible. I’ve been working with the Verona’s Children Relief Fund to help civilian parents who’ve lost their jobs due to the explosion. They’ve been working with families hurt by Verona’s mob war for over a decade, and really, they’re work is incredible. For example, Carlotta Alberti. She’s a single mother living in Borgo Roma with the cutest 12-year-old ever. Give me a sec –” Daphne pulls out her phone and shows the interviewer a picture of her posing with Carlotta and her son, Leo. “The warehouse Carlotta worked in was damaged during the explosion and it hasn’t been rebuilt. She’s got bills to pay. She’s got a kid to provide a future for. Through the Relief Fund, we’ve managed to set Carlotta up with an entry-level position at Falco & Company that has full benefits and room for her to grow.”
What has been your biggest mistake thus far?
Daphne grits her teeth. She knows the interviewer means no harm with this question. It’s a chance to show that she’s vulnerable and that even though she’s been blessed to the Heavens with fortune, good looks and renown, Daphne Adèle Allard still has it in her to be a woman of the people. And a woman of the people is good, and kind, and loving, and doesn’t think badly of others. Still, the first thought that pops into her head is Beau. Arrogant, useless, cold-hearted man, Daphne thinks, careful not to let her absolute frustration with her husband-to-be show on her face. “That’s a hard question to answer,” Daphne starts. “Not because I haven’t made mistakes. God knows that I have.” Her heart thunders. Daphne Allard could never escape the feeling that she was on the precipice of destruction – not of herself, but of destroying others. “It’s just that I’m a perfectionist, you know? When I do something, I need to do it right because people are counting on me. A mistake is a ripple that can turn into a tsunami.” The interviewer nods, seemingly embarrassed at having to draw attention to the fact that Daphne avoided her previous question. “But if you had to say?”
Daphne only smiles. “Not coming back to Verona sooner. I love France with all my heart, but Verona is my home. I was away for quite a while. There’s this French saying – Petit a petit, l’oiseau fait son nid. Little by little, the bird makes its nest. And I really want to make my nest here.”
The lady nods. “So, are you excited for marriage then?” “You have no idea.” You really don’t.
“Have you talked about kids, yet?” “We’ve discussed it,” Daphne responds coyly.
What has been the most difficult task asked of you? When in doubt, pivot to the wedding – Daphne had learned this at a young age. Everyone adores a blushing bride. “This is a ‘I need to check my privilege’ moment, but can I say planning a wedding? There’s so much that goes into it. Finding a good venue, good security. Finding a dress when you’ve got curves is not as easy as Say Yes to the Dress makes it look. Beau and I are trying our best to plan a sustainable wedding. We haven’t announced the list of charities yet, but we intend to do a no-gift policy. Instead, we’d like to ask our friends and family to donate to an organization on the yet-to-be announced list.” Beau and Daphne had discussed no such thing….at least, not in earnest, but no one needed to do that. “Okay, but in all seriousness – one of the hardest things I’ve been asked to do is forgive. I was bullied a lot as a child because I dared to be fat. I looked different from the other girls at school, and they let me know it. I remember every taunt, every oink made behind my back, every time someone tried to put me on a crash diet. It took a toll on my self-esteem. Every insecurity I have got magnified. And I really hated those girls. And hate really hurts you; generally speaking, it hurts you more than the other people. Since my engagement, a few people who were not the nicest to me reached out to see how I was filling out my bridal party.” “Seriously?” She asks. “Seriously. For them, the past didn’t matter. But for me, it did. I couldn’t look in a mirror for a year, and even though I’ve moved on, and I love myself and I love my life and I found someone who loves me for me –” Oh, how she wishes that were true. “ – There was still this resentment in my heart that I struggled to let go of. Forgiving those small deep cuts when there’s no apology, no remorse, nothing, was difficult. But I had to do it for myself. Those girls – maybe they’ve changed; I’m an optimist who thinks people are capable of that. Perhaps I’m a bit old-fashioned? Regardless of who they are, I don’t have to go back to being that sad, lonely little girl because they messaged me.” She pauses and adds,  “I’m lucky, you know, that these are the extent of my problems.”
What are your thoughts on the war between the Capulets and the Montagues? Everyone and their mother wants to know the answer to this. Daphne has been answering this question for years. The Allard family had long ties to the Capulets, but Daphne was not going to go about advertising that or her own role in the mob. “The rivalry has been going on for years. There’s a lot of wounds on both sides,” Daphne starts. “I want peace for the people of Verona who’ve been caught in the cross-fire.” That’s why I am an emissary for the Capulets. To help, she thinks. I am a relatively high-ranking Capulet emissary because I want to be. She thrived in the darkness, in the cold, just as much as she thrived in the light. A lie. She shone in the darkness, but she craved the light. How badly Daphne Allard wanted to be bright, and shining, and good. “I’m just thinking about the Festival of Love,” Daphne starts, subtly pointing fingers at the Montagues. “So much chaos that didn’t need to happen.”

Hamtaro AU: Hamster Marco Chapter 1: Snug in a Pocket
So this was originally going to be for the last day of Starcoweek5 but after I got some requests to finish the story I decided to turn it into a two-shot and its own fic. The idea behind this cute fic was from watching Marco’s confession on loop for like a day and then scrolling through some fanart and coming across Sburbox’s adorable art of Star, Marco, and Tom as cute Hamtaro hamsters! (Oh I should also let you know he is a Tomco shipper, but I typically judge artists on here by their art and talent and not their ship so I wanted to promote and credit him cause he is a really good artist! Even if Tomco isn't your cup of tea he still draws a really cute Tom!)
So I hope you all enjoy the chapter, I’ll post part 2 tomorrow and hopefully by then I will have Ch 15 of Light of the Sun and Stars finished and will be able to start posting on it again. Thanks for the patience guys!
Check out my other stuff over on Fanfiction!
Disclaimer: Star vs and all its characters belong to Daron Nefcy and Disney. Hamtaro belongs to Ritsuko Kawai. Main idea inspired by awesome fanart by Sburbox. All rights go to the respective owners.
Life for Marco was good. Sure being cursed and turned into a hamster may sound like a bad thing, but it had it's upsides for sure. Though at first this had hardly been the case, Marco had been furious and filled with rage after the... incident, something his small fluffy brown body wasn't able to tell, any human who looked at him simply cooing over how apparently adorable he was. And any attempts to tell them that he wasn't, in fact, a hamster but had been magically turned into one, was only greeted by more delighted awing over his cute, small squeak.
The boy had quickly given up on this, residing himself to his new life, often laying near the window of the pet store he was in, to stare up into the sky and wonder the meaning of his extensional existence, until that stupid German Sheppard would start drooling on him and he would let out a squeaky sigh before storming back over to his cage with his tiny paws crossed in annoyance.
He had hated the pet store and all the animals in it with a passion and wanted more than anything to... well be turned human again, but since that probably wasn't happening than to be adopted by someone who would hopefully let him eat off their plate, since he was getting tired of sunflower seeds. And yet, for a while this wish went unfulfilled as he watched pet after pet pass in and out of the pet store, shooting each mindless animal an envious glare.
And then one day, his prayers were answered as one fated morning a certain blond haired girl walked into the pet store. Marco had watched with excitement and intrigue as the girl explained to the owner she was looking for a hamster and he felt his small spirits rise. And then his little heart had begun pounding with joy as the blond was led over to none other than his cage. But suddenly his heart had stopped beating altogether as a pair of bright sky blue eyes fell on him, a small smile gracing the girl's lips as she said softly, “Hey there little guy. I'm Star, nice to meet you.”
Marco was frozen to the spot as she reached a finger in between the bars of the cage and gently scratched his head. The hamster boy was having trouble breathing as the girl just continued staring at him with interest and curiosity, Marco unable to believe he had ever seen anyone quite so lovely before in either of his lives, both human and hamster.
He just watched as Star stood back up and nodded to the owner, saying, “Yes, this one will be just perfect.”
Marco had gone home with her that day, feeling more happy than he had since before the curse, especially when he discovered the fact that this girl had magic as on the way home she had been attacked by a group of monsters, led by a short, bird looking one named Ludo, but the girl had bravely fought them off with a wand she kept hidden in her purse. This brought new hope to Marco as he wondered if this was the universes way of finally repaying him for all the bad stuff he had endured so far.
Marco spent the next few days with Star, trying to get here to realize the truth, crawling onto her wand whenever it was nearby and then gesturing with his small paws to it and then himself. But all Star would say was, “No, no, Marisol. (That's what she had apparently named him) No crawling on the wand, that's dangerous.” She would then scoop him up and put him back in his cage. But the boy didn't give up, determined to return to being human again. He would paw and poke at her spell book, which didn't elicit any response, since Star seemed almost disinterested with it. He even tried writing down his plight onto paper, but it was very difficult to do with such a small size and barely functioning paws, coming out to look more like scribbles than words. Marco face-palmed himself, as above him Star giggled at how cute her pet was, the boy ignoring how beautiful her voice was. “Oh my gosh, look at you, Marisol! You look like your actually writing, I have to send a picture of this to Janna!” Star pulled out her phone and snapped a picture before directing her attention onto the phone screen, her fingers tapping at a mile a minute.
Marco just sighed and curled up into a ball, before tiny tears began falling from his eyes, his small form shaking. He was never going to be human again, he thought depressingly, he was going to be stuck like this forever. Star looked up from her typing and noticed her little pet's distraught position, a concerned frown on her face as she reached a hand out and began gently running her fingers though his soft, fuzzy fur. “Marisol, what's wrong?” she asked with such worry in her voice, it made Marco's heart ache.
He wished he could tell her, he wished he could talk to her and tell her everything but he couldn't. He was stuck like this, stuck living life as a hamster with no way to communicate with anyone, ever. He began letting out small, squeaky sobs and nearly cringed as he waited for Star to start laughing at how cute he sounded (because yes he realized he did) but it would only make him hurt worse, someone finding amusement over his misery.
But her laughter never came. Instead, Star picked him up into her hand, before lifting him up and bringing him closer to her. She gently rocked him like he was a small baby, shushing him and caring for him, as he continued to weep small tears. “Shh, shh, it's okay, Marisol. Don't cry, your alright.”
Eventually he stopped, laying exhausted and unmoving in her hands as he waited for her to put him back into his cage. He felt Star's eyes regarding him and began to wonder what was going on with the girl. “I think I know what's wrong,” Star said in realization and Marco felt his hopes rise just a little. “Your lonely because I haven't been spending enough time with you, right.” Marco finally looked up, and was again startled by the piercing blue he saw. “Oh, I'm sorry Marisol,” the girl groaned, looking so genuinely guilty, that Marco laid a paw on her to let her know it was okay. He hated seeing her sad, for some reason. “Living all alone in that stuffy cage must be the worst!”
Ugh, it was! The girl bit her lip in the cutest way as she pondered to herself for a moment. Suddenly the girl's face brightened as she said joyfully, “But I think I know how to make it up to you.”
And then, the next thing Marco knew he was being tucked into the girl's pocket, blinking as he stared around at the small space in confusion. “There now, Marisol. You can stay right there from now on, okay? This way you'll never have to feel alone anymore.”
Marco was about to squeak out his protest for the idea and begin fighting his way out of the pocket, when he felt a small hand reach in and pat him gently on the head, making his fuzzy cheeks flush, before dropping in a few jellybeans for him to munch on. The boy felt his whole body tingle as the warmth and comfort of the pocket took over and he found himself instead cuddling deeper and deeper into its depths.
And that's where he stayed, day after day, living in the tiny pocket of Star's dress, only coming out to use the bathroom or whenever she changed into her sleep dress, where she would lay him gently next to her on the pillow. Marco began to adjust to this life of his, living in Star's pocket, his small heart filled to the brim with joy every second, as he just became engrossed in the girl more and more.
She was super sweet and adorable, laughing at the oddest moments and never forgetting to reach in every so often and pat him on the head. She never really fed him seeds, always slipping small bites of food down into her pocket during meals without her parent's knowledge or sharing whatever snack she was eating with him.
And the more time went on, the more Marco realized he was in love with her. He loved every single thing she did, he loved her laugh, her smile, how much time and effort she put into taking care of him, even how goofy and reckless she could be sometimes, everything and he wanted nothing more than to stay with her forever.
He was thinking about this as he lay on her desk, watching her struggle to figure out her homework, chewing on the end of her pen in the cutest way, while her other hand was gently scratching Marco behind the ear. He reveled in her touch, while also smiling at her dorky behavior, he looked down at her homework, looking over the question she was stuck on. He had been able to hear Skullnick discussing this in class from within Star's pocket earlier that day and actually knew the answer.
So, he regretfully pulled out of Star's touch, much to her surprise and scampered over to the paper, grabbing her hand and directing it to the answer. He squeaked once and pointed down at it with his paw for emphasis. Star smiled brightly and gave him a pat on the head saying, “Well aren't you just the smartest little thing!” Marco felt his heart swell with pride, as he watched the blond quickly marked her answer, touched that she would trust him like that. He was only a hamster after all. Then again, she was a little too lazy to bother figuring it out herself and would probably take the first bit of advice offered to her, even from a mere pet.
She looked on to the next question, her smile turning into an anxious frown as she asked, “So any idea what the next one is, little guy?”
Marco spent the next half hour helping Star with her homework, guiding her hand to whatever answer it was or turning to the page she needed to figure it out, the blond eagerly and gratefully taking whatever help he offered, a bright, infectious smile on her face and Marco couldn't help but admire it, proud of himself for helping to create that look. He wanted to keep it on her forever.
Finally, the two finished, Star leaning back in her chair and letting out a relieved sigh. “Whew, finally done.” She looked down at her small pet praising him by saying, “Thanks, Marisol. Who knew you were such a smart little cookie?” She held her hand out to him and he climbed onto it without a second of hesitation. She lifted him up to her face and gently nuzzled her cheek against his own, laughing as his soft fur tickled her face. “Your gonna have to be my new tutor from now on, huh?” she joked.
Marco was too busy fighting though his hazy thoughts and the goo that was left of his mind as he felt her warm breath beneath his fur and he sighed contently. Then, every function in his brain shattered into a million pieces as she gave him a tiny little kiss and he fell over onto her hand, his heart close to bursting with its excessive pace.
Star didn't notice this though, as she just tucked him back into her pocket, giving him a small pat before starting to put her books and things away for the night. Marco snuggled extra close to her, breathing in her sweet scent which was always present in her pocket, soaking in her warmth as much as he possibly could.
Marco was happy with his life inside Star's pocket. Maybe someday, he would find a way to tell her who he truly was, but until that day came, he was content and happy to stay right there, in her pocket. And if he was being honest he didn't really want it to end. He just wanted to stay where he was with Star, forever.
