I made a thing!

The child care center I work at does a pre-Chanukkah party to promote teacher bonding. Last year I made a little crocheted bunny and it was very well received. This year I decided to step it up a notch.

Say hi to Hershel Gnomesburg! I'd like to think he's a step up from last year's Hanukkah gnome and I hope he is appreciated! He is an augmented groom gnome by Winding Road Crochet, I added payot and tzittzit as well as made the Hat a little shorter.

I showed a picture to my director and she said she may have to try and rig the blind gift-giving so she gets to take him home.

Hello, I looked around your blog but I couldn't find anything so I'm a tad curious now - what's your opinion of Windenburg from Get Together? It's my second favourite World (Brindleton Bay comes first for me!) And much thanks for the amazing builds! I'm a terrible builder but a great decor person, you have no idea how your builds have saved me!

Hi Anon! :) Thank you, I’m glad you like my builds! I actually really love Windenburg, although I mostly stick to either the rural neighborhood or the island for my builds. I have plans someday to turn the old town and modern neighborhoods into a university, but who knows when I’ll get to that - we’ll probably have an actual Uni EP by the time I do! :-p 

In my main gameplay save, Windenburg is called Gnomesburg and is basically the Goths’ domain - Gunther and Cornelia live in a mansion (not built yet) and run a fancy restaurant (Goth Gardens). Mortimer is an art student at the university, and his teenage sister Claire still lives at home. I haven’t played them in ages, though - I miss them! Anyway, didn’t mean to go off on a tangent - let me know if I didn’t really answer your question! XD

Kind of a long shot, but does anyone recognize this lot? :) It’s a TS4 version of a lot I built for TS3. It’s not the same without @zx-ta’s lovely art that she made for me, but it was fun to build!

Project Update

Hey guys, after a lot of thinking, I’ve made some changes to my Cape Calhoun Project (which is my re-do of all the worlds for my main gameplay save). I had a bunch of explanation typed up but it was long and boring and you’d probably just want me to GET TO THE POINT. :)

So here’s THE POINT (well, several points) (warning: may still be long and boring):

1. I was going to have everything except for Oasis Springs/Kingswood be in the same save, but I’ve decided to separate them again. (See my original post for what name corresponds to what world.) It’ll be like this:

Main Save: Cape Calhoun, Vernon Valley, Rowland’s Wharf, Windy Island (the island part of Windenburg)

Separate Saves: Kingswood, Bayport City, Gnomesburg, Fairbridge Falls (I *might* add this to my main save - not sure yet)

2. I’m going to add some CC back to my main save. The separate saves will remain CC-free for the time being.

3. Since my main save is my gameplay save, it’s mostly for myself, which means I need to be able to move things around, be experimental, completely ditch certain ideas, etc. In other words, I need freedom to work on it when I’m inspired to, otherwise it ceases to be fun. That doesn’t mean I won’t share any of the lots, however! They’ll just be on a “by request” basis, and I might remove CC before sharing, or upload shells. The exception is Windy Island - I’m nearly done with that one and will probably share the lots (all CC-free) in the next couple of weeks.

4. Gnomesburg is going to be a college town, at least in my preliminary plans. (I’ve been wanting to turn it into a college town ever since I made Young Mort!) That could change completely. :) But I anticipate sharing that one eventually if people are interested and the lots work out the way I want them to!

5. Bayport City will probably be the last one I do, unless I get really inspired to work on it. I apologize to those of you who have been asking me for some San Myshuno lots! :-/ I’m sure I’ll get to it eventually but the other worlds are just more interesting to me right now.

6. I do have plans to upload the following lots (since they were requested) once I get them all finished and playtested:

New Wyatt House (the first one...I know that’s confusing...it needs a name!)

Aspen Cottage V2 (the new new Wyatt House)

Brickley’s Ice Cream Restaurant

OK, I may regret this later but I think for my main save re-do, I want to do it CC-free and then share it (bit by bit and also as save files, which will accumulate as I go). It’ll be similar to my Blythe Harbor in style, but more cohesive. And it’ll eventually include all worlds except for Oasis Springs, which I will keep separate but still work on. This is very early on so I don’t have details yet, but I do have the names! It’s all very New England-inspired because I’m still into that. ;) Also, I really like alliteration, what can I say.

Willow Creek = CAPE CALHOUN

Newcrest = VERNON VALLEY

Windenburg = GNOMESBURG

Magnolia Promenade = ROWLAND’S WHARF

Forgotten Hollow = FAIRBRIDGE FALLS

San Myshuno = BAYPORT CITY

Oasis Springs = KINGSWOOD (separate from the rest)

I might start with Fairbridge Falls since I already have some ideas for it, and it’s only five lots. More details to come.

Is Blythe Harbour/Lynport/Newlyn Hills going to be shipped with the Bayport City/Gnomesburg save?

Nope, it’s a completely different save! I’m re-doing all worlds for my own purposes and thought I’d share them eventually, if people want them. Blythe Harbor/Newlyn Hills/Lynport was all for you guys. :)

in your new save file, do you think you could add some college lots (for the get to college mod)? love everything you do for the sims community and i'm excited for what you do next!

Thank you, Anon! Is the Get to College Mod still being updated? I had no idea! I’m not sure how it works, so I’ll have to look into it! Regardless, I do actually plan on building some college lots at some point. :) I have ideas for a Spanish Mission-style college in Kingswood/Oasis Springs (in the neighborhood that has the archway and the little fountain park) - very loosely inspired by Stanford University. And then I would like to do a few college lots in Gnomesburg/Windenburg, probably in the Old Town section. Although I might just end up using @redhotchilisimblr’s campus lot - not sure yet! :) But let me know if you have any ideas or suggestions!

I know you aren't planning to do anymore save files any time soon, but I was curious if you had names for the other worlds )Oasis Springs, Windenburg, San Myshuno, and Forgotten Hallow)?

Hi Anon! I’ve actually been working on coming up with names the last week or so! I’m re-working my main save to be all interconnected (except for Oasis Springs), so I’m re-naming everything and coming up with ideas for the look and feel of each town. So far all I have is “Gnomesburg” for Windenburg. XD I’m renaming my Blythe Harbor as well, so it won’t be confused with my old Blythe Harbor or with Blythe Harbor Lite. I’ll probably do a post about it once I get everything figured out.
