Featherspeck’s siblings are shocked by the news of her death.  They each handle it in different ways, though.  Rabbitfur (24) relies on her clanmates to comfort her, although she wonders if things will ever feel normal again without Featherspeck in her life.  She was so used to being overshadowed by her sister’s power, but now she isn’t.  Now she’s the most powerful of the surviving siblings.  It feels wrong.  Wormdart (24) withdraws into himself, letting himself mourn Featherspeck and the time they should have had together.  No one can begrudge him the need to grieve.  Her death also leaves Sleepyfoot (34) as the only surviving parent of their kits.  She may not have loved Featherpspeck, per se, but she does love their kits.  She has even announced that she is expecting more kits and has moved into the nursery while her older kits are still in it.  Interesting.  The Clan wonders who their other parent is.  The kits in question are handling the death of their mother as well as can be expected.  They’ve also been relying on the older apprentices to help   Fennelkit (4) is having a good time with Finchpaw (9) and Glowkit (4) takes comfort in snuggling with Palepaw (8).  Asterkit (4) even joins in the cuddle pile, rethinking his previous harsh judgment of the apprentice.  The cat who seems to be struggling the most is Poolkit (4).  He’s been a little testy lately and is bickering with Chervilcry (147), who’s only trying to help him.  Despite the grief, Creekstar (22) is pleased with the amount of young cats in the Clan.  She knows that there was a time, when her grandparents were alive, where there were almost no young cats.  It’s good to see the Clan thriving under her care. Wildcave (51) is also thinking about the young cats.  He wonders if he should be more protective of his kits and is really impressed with how brave Volcanoblossom (95) is.  Sometimes he feels like he should be braver, considering his fire-blessing. Wildcave has been paying closer attention to his kits and has realized that, maybe because of being powerless and living a relatively sheltered life, Halfpaw (9) struggles with fitting in with his siblings.  He vows to watch out for him better.  Meanwhile, Mossypaw (10) confides in Gladepatch (44) that he feels overshadowed by Primpaw (10) sometimes.  Actually, make that most of the time.  She’s so powerful and valued in the Clan, but he’s just another fiery cat.  Gladepatch reassures him and explains why Primpaw is valued and given special attention.  It doesn’t mean that Mossypaw is any less valuable-and besides, it’s always good to have fire-blessed cats around.  For a time the Clan was as low on them as they are now on water-blessed cats.

-Harvestbite asks to join the clan, offering his healing skills in exchange for a home. Both Jasperstar and Slitjaw agree to let him join. Harvestbite enters the clan with his two kits, Hopekit and Mitekit.

-Hopkit joins the clan with her father, Harvestbite.

-Mitekit joins the clan with her father, Harvestbite.

-While Harvestbite and Slitjaw are out on patrol they find Canaryheart and his two kits, Glowkit and Lostkit, in a bush. The two medicine cats approach Jasperstar, asking to let him and his kits join. Jasperstar agrees.

Lore:

Gloomkit was born to Goldenwing(the golden cat), the medicine cat of sunclan, and Oakleap(not in the drawing), a warrior of moonclan, alongside her litter mates Foxkit(the red kitten), Glowkit(the golden kitten), and Shadowkit(the blue one), in a small cave far from camp which is where they lived for half a moon till Goldenwing took them to Sunclan camp claiming them to be abandoned kits she found, Gloomkit grew up and found herself interested in the herbs her litter mates found boring or disgusting. When she reached six moons she started training under Goldenwing to be a medicine cat, soon at 12 moons she proved herself a true medicine cat after helping a queen deliver her litter. Gloomsplice was never one to talk to her clan mates but after a tom kept ending up in her den they became friends the tom and her soon caught feeling and since she knew she loved him over all she switched, becoming a warrior instead to be with her love. The two soon had a litter of one, a small, black she-kit they named Ravenkit, her life was perfect… everything was going great… but soon it all would cash down on her… a fire had started in the field the cats lived in and soon the clans needed to escape. Gloomsplice tried to save every cat she could but her former mentor was too injured to be saved. “No! No no!” She hissed but not out of anger… “I can’t leave you here!” The tortie held tears back as the old she-cat smiled “Don’t cry Gloomsplice…” Gloomsplice felt her paws quiver as she heard stones fall and the fire spread, “We have to go! Come on Goldenwing you can still be saved!” The cream she-cat layed down. “No… Listen to me Gloomsplice.” Goldenwing’s tone was serious as she layed down on the ground. “I have taught you to save cats no matter what, that includes you. Your the only hope this clan has… don’t let yourself die with me…” Gloomsplice cried as she stood up her eyes not leaving the old she-cat. “But there’s one thing I have to tell you…” She continued, “I’m your mother Gloomsplice…”. Gloomsplice goes on to new territories as a medicine cat again with the clans and after training a white tom by the name of Beepaw(soon Beewing) dies of age.

Glowkit had mentally been calling himself Glowpaw ever since he turned 6 moons old. It brought him comfort to think of his apprentice ceremony, or at least what Sunfern had described happened when she was made a ‘paw. Cats would cheer for him when Nightengalestar proclaimed him an apprentice, and he’d train under Duskroot to become a Healer like him. The elder would joke about finally being able to retire fully once Glowpaw earned his name, then they’d both laugh and be fine. Glowpaw shook his head, now wasn’t the time to be thinking about that stuff, he was an apprentice now! He had to be strong, he was carrying Capclan with him now.

Darkroot taught him some herbs while they were in camp, many were no good or got destroyed, but Glowpaw learned a lot in those few days. He learned how to pull a thorn and wrap a paw, he also learned what herbs were used to stop pain and infection. The most important herb he learned about were the herbs Darkroot used to treat the color coughs, especially red cough. Glowpaw recalls Darkroot saying Red cough was hard to survive, but it could be cured. Idly, he wondered if those things could be cured, or at least stopped, with the same herbs. He huffed, amused with himself, like he was gonna try and get close enough to test that.

Glowpaw had been camping out in an old animal den for the past few nights, and while it was a tight fit, it was safe. The area around it seemed plentiful too! With herbs abound, as well as prey. Glowpaw hadn't learned to hunt himself, and Darkroot taught him very few hunting moves. He figured it was because the old tom hardly knew many himself, being a Healer and all. But he felt pride in the few catches he managed to make himself.

His mouth was full of strong smelling herbs, the scent tickling his nose and threatening to make him sneeze. He’d been tying these herbs together and placing them around his temporary den, masking his scent from anything that might try and find him. His attention was drawn away from the herbs for a moment by motion in the water, a ripple above the surface.

Glowpaw considered himself smart and sensible, but hunger was a powerful motivator, and the young apprentice was desperate. He gently and carefully placed the herbs onto a dry piece of bark, before padding over to the water to investigate. Sure enough, Glowpaw could see fish swimming underneath the surface, popping up for a quick second before resuming. Glowpaw waited and waited, before seeing a fish dare to swim closer to him. He slammed his paw down into the water, claws catching onto the fish.

Glowpaw tried to pull it out, but the fish seemed to be stronger, its weight and desperate fighting pulled Glowpaw right in. The water was deeper than Glowpaw first thought, as his mouth and lungs were full of water in seconds. Fear overtook the poor apprentice as he fought to raise his head above water, coughing and splashing. Finally, his claws caught onto the bank, and he weakly pulled half his body out of the murky water. Coughing, soaking wet, and still hungry, he cut his losses and collected his herbs, heading for his den.

Glowpaw fell into a body of water and inhaled a lot of water. He’s been hacking and sputtering ever since

Even though they are excited to finally be made an apprentice, it takes a bit of coaxing by Shiveringicy for Glowkit to step forward for their ceremony. Shiveringivy watches in pride as they're named Glowpaw and touch noses with Echocaw

Lilacpaw has reached the age of six moons and has been made an apprentice under Shadowgoat

As Auburnpaw touches noses with Beamdrizzle, they hope they'll get to do something that will really impress the Clan on their first day. maybe they could catch a big, fat rabbit? Or chase off a fox! That'll show the Clan they're the best apprentice anyone's ever seen!

Moon 166-Leaf-bare

Palepaw (6) has been apprenticed to Rustsong (35), as she’s pretty much the only powerless cat in the Clan who doesn’t have an apprentice.  Actually, there are very few cats in the Clan who don’t have apprentices right now.  Creekstar (20) may need to double up on some, although she doesn’t want to.  Despite having an apprentice of his own now and his kits being out of the nursery, Fry (73) makes sure to spend some time with the remaining kits.  He challenged Glowkit (2) to spar with him and has a great time playing with him. Rabbitfur (22) is not a fan of the apprentices.  She feels like Primpaw (8) is always getting in the way and that Brightpaw (8) is too cold and unhelpful.  She’s not even a big fan of her own apprentice, Daisypaw (7).  Poolkit (2) has already proven himself to be quite the trouble maker.  And also good at getting out of it.  He always offers to help out in the  healer's den instead of taking his punishment.  It’s hard to discourage that behavior.  Primpaw really enjoys being the leader’s apprentice, and showing off what she’s learned.  She’s showing Fennelkit (2) how to do a hunter’s crouch.  Conegoat (49) feels like she’s falling in love with Rustsong.  Is it weird, being in love with her brother’s mate?  Probably.  But she can’t control who she falls for.  Sleepyfoot (32), despite having kits of her own with Featherspeck (22) now, has been prancing around in front of Pigeonspot (35).  Featherspeck notices and feels like Pigeonspot should tell her to stop.  Sleepyfoot’s not very considerate of others.  Creekstar has remained close to Conegoat, since the Healer helped protect her when she was a kit.  She views her as a sort of aunt and enjoys going on walks with her.
