       FASHION CREDITS: “PAPARAZZI” MUSIC VIDEO

Swedish director Jonas Åkerlund-directed the iconic music video for Lady Gaga’s 2009 single “Paparazzi” from her 2008 debut album “The Fame”. 

The genius styling was done by Jonas’ wife Bea Åkerlund. Gaga’s glam was done by Sharon Gault while the Special FX makeup was handled by Ve Neill. Hair by Peter Savic and manicure by Naja Rickette.

The video opens with Gaga and her boyfriend (portrayed by Alexander Skarsgård) making out in their opulent Beverly Hills mansion. The white corset is from Mugler’s Spring/Summer 1998 “Jeu de Paume” Haute Couture collection. 

Bea added the white silk Sitting Pretty bra from the “Tra La La” collection of lingerie brand Faire Frou Frou, and added silver rhinestone pasties on top of them to make it their own.

Her corset lace-up back tights are signed by Leg Avenue.

LG wears a Tom Binns Design red rhinestone heart and skull necklace from Bea’s very own collection, which was gifted to her by her husband. The lower layer is a mixture of various vintage necklaces she put together to create a very large one.

The vintage Dior Fall/Winter 2000 “Fly Girls” collection pavé knuckle letter rings are from Bea’s own collection too and just goes out for very special clients. 

Gaga completed the look with custom patent fingerless gloves by GlovedUp Gloves and stacked diamond bracelets worth $100,000 by Loree Rodkin.

Giuseppe Zanotti black platform sandals with olive-green leather ankle buckle strap and golden back completed the look.

Gaga mysteriously changed outfits (and wig) during her way to death to give us this Marilyn Monroe-inspired crime scene. 

She wore a crystal-embellished corset dress from Mugler’s Fall/Winter 1995 couture collection.

She also rocked custom Haus of Gaga mirror glasses, two silver pavé spike bangles by nOir Jewelry and the neon Sushi Deluxe lucite & PVC heels from Ruthie Davis Spring/Summer 2009 collection.

Recovered from her injuries and slowly ready to slay, Gaga is dressed in a sheer leopard catsuit from the same Mugler Fall/Winter 1995 Haute Couture collection. The bra is the black version of the aforementioned Faire Frou Frou Sitting Pretty bra.

The neckpiece actually is a mix of two separate accessories. First one is a vintage black leather neckband with shoulder pads studded with silver metal dots, and fully trimmed in front, sides, and partial back with silver metal chains. The one I found for you is almost identical, with golden studs and chains and apparently it belonged to Liza Minelli!

The second piece is the Minerva silver neckbrace with swiss cross from Betony Vernon’s 2006 “Runway Rocks” Haute Couture collection for Swarovski. 

“The Minerva forces the chin upwards which is a sign of self-confidence and ensures that the wearer stands tall and straight. The Red Cross, a symbol of help, first-aid and rescue, makes reference to a medical neck brace, and the fact that its wearer would change from a victim to a survivor“.

The accessorizing continues. Firstly, Gaga’s blonde and pink hair button is custom Haus of Gaga. Her HT: 103-1 flip-up shades are by Hi Tek Designs.

Her crystal logo knuckle ring is vintage Chanel from Bea’s own collection.

The most amazing piece is the vintage metal padlock corset from Dolce & Gabbana’s Spring/Summer 2007 collection.

The final addition are her crystal and stud-embellished gladiator sandals by Giuseppe Zanotti for Balmain’s Spring/Summer 2009 collection.

Her amazing wheelchair was designed by Bea and created by Michael Schmidt Studios. 

“Gaga called me and said she wanted to be in a wheel chair. She wanted me to design it and not the prop department. I took it upon myself to drive to East L.A. and exchange the wheels for some low rider ones. I ordered some Gucci fabric and handed it over to my genius friend Michael so he could embellish it with Swarovski crystals. Originally, we made a metal logo that read “Gaga” on the wheels, but she disliked the font and we ended up exchanging it for the Chanel logo.“

This iconic Metropolis-esque robot metal suit is from Mugler’s Spring/Summer 1991 collection - also known as the collection seen in George Michael’s “Too Funky” music video. 

The suit comprises a bra top, high-rise shorts, arm braces and a helmet. The crutches were custom-made by Michael Schmidt Studios with Swarovski chain and punk studs.

This black patent leather cut-out dress is another very risqué Mugler creation - again from his Spring/Summer 1991 collection. 

“It’s so genius because you can choose the level of exposure that you want in the back. You can make it look as risqué as you want and we went all the way.“ Bea said about this ethereal piece.

Gaga completed the look with a large vintage crystal lightning bolt earring, studded long vinyl opera gloves and Dolce & Gabbana patent leather & silver metal pointed-toe pumps.

The next look only made it in the director’s cut version. Gaga is channeling her inner mermaid on her purple-haired horse while wearing the aquamarine and purple crystal-embellished seashell collar swimsuit from Jeremy Scott’s Spring/Summer 2001 collection. 

For more of a “punk” feeling, Bea styled Gaga further with a vintage Mugler Spring/Summer 1991 open metal bra, a bullet belt used as a sash (Bea’s own) and John Galliano color-block patent strappy platform sandals.

Oh, talking about Jeremy Scott’s Spring/Summer 2001 collection - why don’t you check out this other bubblegum-pink crystal-embellished seashell swimsuit Gaga wore the the video’s dress fittings?

For the dance sequel Gaga wore this hybrid creation from London-based emerging designer Boudicca’s Spring/Summer 2008 “Still” collection. 

It’s a white satin catsuit with pleated black and silver skirt, shoulder piece and twirling leg ruffles, and also comes with a large waist belt. And yes, I love it.

She completed the look with diamond bracelets, a crystal cross earring and clear PVC and black suede lace-up peep-toe wedge ankle booties from Fendi’s Spring/Summer 2009 collection.

This bodysuit was created by Bea and Jeremy Scott on set of the video. “Gaga had a vision of making an outfit out of actual film stock, so we started wrapping it around her. We had about 2 minutes to make this outfit because she was leaving to catch a flight. My dear friend, Jeremy Scott, was there on set and helped out. It was very fun.”

The feather mohawk helmet headpiece is vintage.

Gaga sips on some tea while poisening her boyfriend in a custom-tailored Jeremy Scott yellow jumpsuit with twisted shoulders based on his Fall/Winter 2009 “Mouse Trap” collection. 

The print features the face of a girl wearing one of Scott’s iconic Mickey Mouse military helmets.

The Italian-American singer also wore a black corset, spiked punk bracelet, flip-up Mickey Mouse sunglasses from the Jeremy Scott x Linda Farrow collaboration...

... a four cone spike pyramid ring by nOir Jewelry... 

...a diamond lightning bolt pendant necklace by Personalized Boutique ($295)...

... and vintage black & yellow patent leather logo round-toe pumps by Chanel 

Gaga turned herself in and was arrested by the police in style. 

She wore a custom GlovedUp Gloves black sequin glove cape, a chain and crystal corset with lion head centerpiece from The Blonds’ Spring/Summer 2009 collection and a vintage studs and chain bondage bra.

This look was accessorized with a braided cone wig, a long spike pavéd nova ring by nOir Jewelry with matching hoop earrings (similar ring pictured above)...

...fishnet stockings, vintage Emilio Pucci 89850 shield sunglasses...

... and metallic sculptural heels from John Galliano’s Spring/Summer 2009 collection.

The final look of the video is this Dolce & Gabbana silver metal bustier dress Gaga wears to the mugshot. It’s from the Spring/Summer 2007 collection titled “New Sexy Glam” and features a corset lace-up back and wide hips.
