Glencadam 1966 22 year old Cadenhead for Mizuhashi.

Rich chestnut cream Glencadam. Slightly cinnamon stick and pancakes syrup, custard and roast pretzel aroma. Sweet deserts fragrance. With winy mouthfeel, rich creamy malty and chestnuts cream flavor with refreshing herbal note. Dry tannin and sticky vanilla finish then woodiness and apricot, comfortable malty with hint of salt, nutty remains longly.

GlenDronach 19 yr distilled in 1995

This round was our first repeat bottle. Not that we're running out of scotch to drink, we just wanted a reminder of how much we enjoyed the GlenDronach. But the other two were interesting choices, all three hailing from the Highlands.

Glenfarclas 21

We've tried the 25, so we decided to give the Glenfarclas 21 a spin. This reminded us a bit of The Dalmore Cigar Malt despite not being sherried. Mildly spicy with distinct apple and berry notes. Refreshing; a solid choice from the Glenfarclas core statements.

Glencadam 21

This was our first Glencadam, and it didn't go over too well. Heavy on the oak and banana, this was our least favorite bottle from the round. Still smooth and enjoyable, but more for those who would prefer to chew on a piece of barrel wood.

Why did we return to this bottle? Because this was the club's favorite from early on. We decided to revisit this sherry monster to see if our opinions had changed now that we drank enough scotch to drown a horse. It didn't. Still unbelieably sweet and chocolatey. Warming. Thicc.

Hey guys! How's it going?🙂. . For this Friday's review we have a new one from Glencadam, the Reserva Andalucia. . Did you know that Glencadam is now the only distillery in the county of Angus, an area of the Highlands region of Scotland. The first owner was a “Mr Cooper”, who sold the distillery in 1827. The name “Glencadam” comes from the area known as “The Tenements of Caldhame”. These were plots of ground given to the burghs of Brechin for food production. They were situated to the north and south east of the Den Burn where the distillery stands. . This new expression of Glencadam, Reserva Andalucia, pays homage to the relationship between Glencadam Distillery and the famous sherry region of Spain, Jerez in Andalucia. Master Distiller Robert Fleming, carefully chose the very best sherry butts from the ancient dunnage warehouses at Glencadam to create Reserva Andalucia. Once married together with bourbon casks, it was finished in Oloroso sherry butts from Andalucia. The result is a rich and sherry-forward expression, where the famous fruitiness of the Glencadam spirit is balanced with sultana and sweet-spice notes, that come from the Oloroso cask maturation. . It's a non-age statement, 46% ABV, unchillfiltered and natural color. . Awards and Reviews:. The Spirits Business - Scotch Whisky Masters 2020 - Gold Medal. . Here is my review:. . Nose: Dark fruit, soft nougat, oaky vanilla pods, brown sugar, fresh fudge and a hint of cinnamon. . Palate: Forest fruit, creamy, soft, toffee and sweet apples, raisins. . Finish: Long, silky. Honey, brown sugar, maple syrup and a hint of green tea. . Colour: Ripe golden barley. .
