Preparation for Casey’s birthday:

Hedwig: Casey’s gonna visit us! Im going to make her a beautiful drawing for her birthday!! Me and her holdings hands in a field of flowers!

Dennis: Don’t put marker everywhere! Hedwig,look at this place...all this mess! I have to clean it.

Patricia : I am in charge of the cake , I will make her an Asian speciality ,it will be a pleasure for her..

Jade: can you put less sugar? Because it’s not good for my diabetes, I DON’T WANT TO INCREASE THE DOSE THIS TIME!

Hedwig : can I draw in the kitchen with you Miss Patricia?

Patricia :You stay, if you promise to stay calm ... cooking is a delicate discipline,it needs delicacy.

Hedwig: Yup!I swear!

Barry: And me! I don’t know what to wear for the party ! A tunic or a suit with suspenders? But not the 80’s one, it’s so ridiculous..

Luke: you will always be lame guys,C’mon !Faster, she’s gonna come soon!

Orwell: Casey is so smart,she’s growing up so fast.. the student exceeds the master. I am proud of her, she retains my lessons.

Barry: Jade can you help me decorate ? You’re gonna help me match the colors of the streamer

Dennis : everyone stop! We have to finish all of this,she’s gonna come soon.

The Split/Glass fandom is so dead and that makes me sad 😔

Стекло (2019)

Первая мысль, которая возникла у меня после выхода из кинотеатра это, конечно же “МакЭвой - охуенный”. С этим не поспоришь. Его игра стала значительно интереснее и многограннее того, что мы видели в “Сплите”.  Конечно, если вы не смотрели “Сплит”, то и этот фильм включать нет никакого смысла ибо он покажется вам полным бредом и чушью собачьей.  А вот если вы не смотрели старый фильм “Неуязвимый”, то смотреть очень даже можно. 

К примеру, когда несколько лет назад я бежала в кино на “Сплит”, то я понятия не имела, что этот фильм где-то с чем-то связан. Я просто хотела посмотреть на МакЭвоя.   Так то я всегда не прочь посмотреть на него, будем честны.  А совсем недавно мы с Яной честно пытались посмотреть “Неуязвимый”, но выключили буквально через 20 минут от начала, потому что это просто невозможно. У Шьямалана и так максимально специфическая режиссура и его фильмы смотреть, откровенно говоря, не просто. Но когда за долгих 20 минут экранного времени произошло практически целое ничего, а постановка кадра была такая всратая, что мне казалось, что установкой режиссера было что-то вроде “снимай так, чтоб это выглядело словно камера находится в ноздре у второго прохожего слева”. Тяжело, в общем. И мы выключили.

И в целом я могу понять, за что критики и многие зрители, которым понравились предыдущие фильмы, так негативно или, в лучшем случае, равнодушно отнеслись к “Стеклу”.  Я постараюсь не спойлерить, но сразу скажу, что концовка и 100500 финальных твистов в итоге оказались довольно разочаровывающими.  А ведь у Шьямалана мог бы быть потенциал!  Это же потенциальная франшиза о супергероях, но не о таких, каких мы видим на больших экранах в звездно-полосатом трико.  Это могли быть фильмы о героях, способности которых не многим превосходят наши, человеческие.  Они отличаются, но так, что могут при желании жить в обществе и оставаться незамеченными.  А могут по-ночам тихонько помогать людям. Или не помогать. Тут уж кто на что горазд. 

А что же в итоге сделал с нашими героями Шьямалан? Он просто запихнул их в крошечную локацию, в которой они даже не могли толком развернуться и показать себя. Объясните мне, непутевой, что это за психиатрическая больница такая, в которой один доктор, два санитара и дед-охранник? Да в школу, в которой я практику прохожу, попасть в 100500 раз тяжелее, чем в это заведение для, на минуточку, потенциально опасных и душевнобольных людей.

Им в рамках крошечных палат просто негде развернуть и, будем честными, фильм на своих массивных плечах тащил исключительно Джеймс МакЭвой.  Он лишний раз доказал свой невероятный, многогранный талант. Я не знаю, как он это делал, но временами я просто ��мотрела на него и видела, как взгляд менялся от личности к личности. При чем из-за фишки с прожекторами, здесь нам показали и раскрыли его в разы лучше, чем в “Сплите”. Но все остальное, к сожалению, было запорото просто бессовестно. 

Опять невозможно странные и глупые кадры. Опять это дурацкая фишка, когда актер стоит на столько близко к камере, что можно волосы у него в носу пересчитать.  И боже, Аня Тейлор-Джой, что с тобой стало?!  Это девчушка мне и в прошлом фильме не очень то понравилась, а здесь прямо вообще. Боюсь представить, как она звучит в оригинале, раз даже в нашем дубляже ее персонаж был чисто дуб-дерево. 

В итоге могу сказать, что фильм более чем смотрибельный.  Он временами интересный, временами захватывающий.  Но все эти моменты, к сожалению, связаны исключительно с МакЭвоем. И то! Мне кажется, что он мог раскрыть своего персонажа еще лучше, если бы ему это позволили. 

С большой натяжкой поставлю фильм 7 из  10.  И это только за МакЭвоя.  Потому что финал и “сюжетные повороты”  лично меня максимально расстроили. Ничего нового и действительно необычного там не было.  Шьямалан бы уже попробовал просто снять хороший фильм. Для этого не обязательно, чтоб в конце выпрыгивала какая-то неведомая краказября и кричала “АГА! Я ТУТ СЮЖЕТНЫЙ ТВИСТ!”. Просто сними уже хороший фильм, мужик!

A Rant about Glass(spoilers)

So i watched it and was left with feelings of emptiness, confusion and of course heartbreak. Over the years i have fallen in love with theese characters and have loved both the good and bad sides of them. I was honestly just disappointed.

Now that isn't to say that there were not any good points because there was.

The directors use of colors and how he linked Kevin's father being on the same train as David was great. It really brought them all together. Also the acting was on point.

However the clover society (is there an offical name for them?) who are thousands of years old appearing and killing them all in the end completly threw me through a loop. There was no connection through out the triology and it just seemed way too abrupt and last minute. Not to mention Dr. Staple only having three days to help them realize they were delusional is ridiculous. Kevin especially would require years of therapy if not his entire life to get through all the shit he has been thorough and has done. How David and Kevin died as well just broke my heart. David wasn't a real threat to anyone. He was just trying to stop the Beast from hurting anyone else. I do not understand why he needed to be killed when he was already down. If you can drag him and then drown the man in a fucking puddle then you could sure as hell subdue him. Now kevin being shot i understand. He is unpredictable and dangerous. I was just so happy to see him take the light from the beast. Yes Casey is a catalyst for that but it does show growth from him and then to see him shot and taken down just when we begin to have hope. I know he was never going to get the happy ending many of us have wanted for him but that still didnt mean he had to die. I hate he wasn't given a real chance at getting better. With Casey there I really believed he could have. I understand but i hate it. I suppose we will always have fanfiction though.

Overall I felt the movie was just not ready. I beleve that had the director waited and really just take his time with it as he had with Split that it could have been a real gem to add to Unbreakable and Split. The dialouge was just robotic at times and a bit redundant. The pacing was also just awkward as well. It all seemed like a first draft.

I would have liked to have seen more interaction with Joseph, Mr.Glass mother, and Casey trying to figure out just what was going on because the 3 days Dr.staple had given would have set off red flags to me. Like why the urgency?Also i regret not being able to see more intricate plans from Mr. Glass. This man is a genius. I was excited to see what crazy brilliant plots he would unfold.Lastly i wanted to see more development from Kevin with casey. To see them both really relating to each other with loosing thier fathers and being abused by those that were suppose to love and care for them and even talking through what had happened in the past between them.

It was a decent movie; however, it just faltered after the first act and the ending was... I just think it would have been better the scenario they made for it would be put in a different movie.
